I had a day from hell that was because of a flat tire and everything leading to me trying to get the tire swapped. With it being Labor Day weekend, I was looking around my area in NoVA to see who might have my OEM tire in stock for my 2022 Chevy Colorado. Thankfully Pohanka Chevy was open in the parts and service department until 10pm!!! (a rarity for sure). I called in advance the parts department and they had the tire in stock. I then got transferred to service to see if they would swap my spare tire with the new tire. Ackbar in service has been such a professional gentleman! I'm back on the road and if I ever need to get my tires swapped I'll head to Chantilly's Pohanka Chevy dealer because the warehouse is expansive and they're likely to have the part I need in stock. That combined with its 10pm close time makes this s no brainer for me in the future. Not to mention they gave me a complimentary car wash!!! No other chevy dealership besides Bob Now with all the good things I said you're probably wondering why I'm not giving it a 5? It reads like a 5. However I came in yesterday asking to replace both passenger tires. I flagged that the passenger front needed swap (it had a spare on it) and I also noticed my passenger rear wasn't holding air. Indicating there was likely a small leak on the inside. I was told by Ackbar the service advisor that he checked and the mechanics checked and they said the tire was good for "another six months". You can imagine the whiplash I had when I woke up this morning to a FLAT TIRE on the passenger rear. So I had to pay $200 to tow the truck BACK to Pohanka Chevy. I told Pedro the service advisor I encountered this morning about my situation and I told him how frustrated I was that I basically spent roughly $700 for a tire swap then a $211 tow because I was disregarded about my concerns of switching both that then went flat despite me flagging it wasn't holding air and I heard hissing. And then another $280ish something to have them swap my passenger tire. Idk if it was because I was a woman and they didn't think I knew anything about cars or what but I got a barely a 10% discount a "free" tire rotation which isn't even free considering tire rotations are included when you buy a new tire anyway. And if you want a breakdown specifically of the costs: $249.11 for the spare tire to be swapped for a new tire. $213.21 for a Towing service to send it back to Pohanka, and then another $228.53 to get the passenger rear, the same area I said needed a new tire, added on. So to recap: I came in with a spare tire on the passenger front that needed to be replaced and I also addressed concerns that the rear tire was not holding sir and that I wanted the tire inspected and replaced if there was a leak. The former was replaced the latter I was told was "good for at least six more months." I then woke up the next morning to a flat tire on my passenger rear (I don't think that tire was good for another few months). I then spent over $200 on a tow to send it back to Pohanka Chevorlet and then had to wait again for a tire for a side that I already flagged before. I'm tired. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Pohanka Chevrolet. I brought my vehicle in to have an ongoing issue with the instrument cluster/display diagnosed and repaired. I spent multiple hours and was charged around $300, only to pick up my vehicle and discover that the original problem had not been fixed. What is most frustrating is not simply that the repair wasn't successful--it's that I spent a significant amount of time and money expecting the issue to be addressed, only to leave essentially back where I started. My time was wasted, and I was still charged for the visit. After giving them the full day, I was informed that the screen is part of the larger instrument cluster and that there is no specific procedure for repairing the individual screen. I was told the recommended solution is to replace the entire instrument cluster, which is a completely different repair than what I originally came in expecting. How was this issue not found originally? I understand that diagnosing an intermittent electrical issue can sometimes be difficult. However, customers should not have to spend hours at a dealership, pay hundreds of dollars, and leave without the problem being resolved or a reasonable solution being offered. Each time I showed back up there was no receptionist adding to the uneventful wait time. More of my time wasted. Save your time and money and avoid this dealership. There are independent shops that actually care about the service they give you. read more

About a month ago, I purchased a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV because of the Federal Tax credit and Costco discount. I had previously visited Pohanka Chevrolet while look for another car, and after visiting several dealerships, I can confidently say this location is by far the most attentive and genuinely eager to help customers. From the very beginning of the buying process to the end, Jhony took care of everything I needed. He never said "no" to my requests, was always polite, honest, and truly went above and beyond to assist me. Jhony is a genuine and sincere person, and I highly recommend working with him. As for the Equinox EV itself: if you're considering an electric vehicle, I recommend making sure you can charge it at home or at work, since public charging can be expensive. For daily life and short commutes, it's an excellent choice. Keep in mind that EVs are not recommended to be charged to 100%--80% is usually ideal, and it's best to recharge once you're around 15-20% rather than going lower. These are important factors to consider when buying an EV. One suggestion I have for Chevrolet is to provide free adapters so their EVs can use Tesla charging stations. On April 18 I called Pohanka Service to see what the wait time would be for a St. Inspection and a wheel alignment. They said 3 hours but when I arrived 20 min later I was told 24 - 48 hrs. It was 9:15 a.m. They got me a ride home. I called them the next day and they read a laundry list of items that I needed to have fixed to the tune of $6900 and $3500 if I only wanted to fix the State inspection items. NO WAY! Took my car elsewhere, only paid $1800 to fix the items NEEDED and that included a wheel alignment that I asked for! I can promise you I will NEVER go back to Pohanka Service for anything! I've been a customer for 26 years and this was the worst experience I've ever had. BTW my car is a 2020 Chevy Blazer with 30,000 miles. read more

Buying a car might be easy at Pohanka Chevrolet--if you believe everything you're told by the salespeople, sales manager, and even the GM. Unfortunately, what they promise and what actually happens are two very different things. When I read their Yelp description, I honestly laughed and cried. They claim to offer a "fast, friendly, and focused on you" car-buying experience--but my experience was more like "fast, misleading, and completely lacking follow-through." Here are just a few of the empty promises I received: "We'll transfer your tags and extend temporary tags if needed--no problem." Weeks later, still waiting. No updates. No action. "You get lifetime inspections in VA or MD, and we'll even pick up and return your car for inspection." Sounded great... until it came time to follow through. Then nothing until we insisted on talking to the GM, who offered to pay for a single Maryland inspection. I sent the receipt. Still waiting on that too. "I'll have my guys check into the issue with the stereo system"; and never heard back. Bottom line: They'll say whatever it takes to close the sale, but once the papers are signed, good luck getting anyone to honor those promises. I strongly recommend getting everything in writing, or better yet, avoiding this dealership altogether. Meanwhile my car is siting in the driveway without any way to drive it legally while making payments and keeping insurance on it. Please learn from our mistake and buy your next car somewhere else. read more

What a terrible experience I had with Pohanka Chevrolet. They are what I would say "shady used car salesmen". I was purchasing a vehicle from them and since I was out of state I had an independent company inspect the vehicle for me since I could not see it in person. I loved the car and was going to purchase it. I was ASURED that they were holding the car for me to complete my due diligence on my purchase. Long story short.... they sold the car from under me. I was, of course, very disappointed and upset that they went back on their word. When I questioned then why they did not take a deposit from me, I was told that it was "illegal" in VA to take a deposit. Lie. When I told them that I wanted to give them a poor review, to calm me down they offered to cover my expense on the inspection that I paid for and send me a $300 check. They said it was going to be sent out IMMEDIATELY.. The general manager called me and assured me that to make it right they were sending it to me right away.. I never received it!
