system will not permit zero stars. went there first week it was open, then again a few months later during "grand opening". Then finally dragged back first week of december 2012 because of visitors. Nothing had changed. Still one of the worst "Chinese" buffets have ever been in. Most of the food was bland. First two times went with several elderly Oriental ladies of different nationalities, None could communicate with the staff or management. They made the comment that they could get better "Chinese" food at the Golden Corral. This place advertizes that it is in the "Top Hundred" Chinese Restaurants in Houston. Not sure who gave that rating, or how bad some of the other places must be. Not sure why it is always packed. Maybe because it is only buffet in the area, and is pretty cheap. read more

My family (kids and adults alike) loves this place. Seriously--the negative foodie snobs need to get a life. Great buffet. If you want Food Network food go downtown and pay $100 for your meal. Big selection, and a great value for the money. Staff is super friendly. read more

I was invited by a friend to Ling's. I was impressed by the cleanliness, ambiance and great service. I think the foods were delicious. We are going back tonite with the whole family. I am now a fan until something bad experience happens!! I recommend it to anyone. read more

After reading previous posts... R you kidding me? This is a great place to eat, not to mention being a huge value for your buck! The sushi bar is packed with variety and everything is fresh! I can eat 20bucks worth of sushi alone! Their boiled shrimp are the cleanest and easiest to peel I've ever seen. I'm a huge buffet fan and I've never seen shrimp prepared this way, you too will be impressed! The oysters on the half shell are terrific also. I doubt if you'll be disappointed if you try Lings, especially if you're looking to tear up some sushi :) Although one thing I can agree with is that I'm not crazy about their crab puffs as one other wrote, they're prepared different than the usual. Overall I think this is a nice place to have dinner and will continue to go back when I'm in the mood for a buffet. It's the best in the area! read more

This was my first time there tonight, I went for my Great GodMothers 94th birthday.The best part of the night was seeing everyone that came out to celebrate at such a beautiful place. After only eating steamed vegetables, shrimp, 2 stuffed mushrooms, one piece of crab sushi with spicy mayo, and a sip of warm saki I had to run to the restroom and puke. My stomach immediately start burning and hurting terribly, I got myself together and had to leave before the rest came up. Thanks but NEVER again! read more

Been to this place a year ago with my family and in-laws. I thought this was a great place and it left a pretty good impression on me. Unfortunately today's (Memorial Day) lunch was a really really different experience I was accustomed to. The sushi didn't have much fish or there was just too much variations of vegetarian or california rolls. Not only that they used to have a great variety of dishes out there, now it's just chicken this and chicken that. What the heck?!??! DId the economy really affect them that much to turn this into another Golden Island (restauarant in Humble closed years ago) standard? The pork spare rib was tough and too sweet like it was dunked in syrup. The coconut shrimp didn't have coconut and looked like it was just dunked in heavy batter then deep fried it had syrup drizzled over it. The only redeeming thing to eat was the buffalo wings that tasted like it came from a Kroger deli (i can't stand wings from a supermarket). My appetite, time and money was better spent a Golden Corral then this place. I was really disapointed with this place. I will never come back to this place again and never recommend it to anyone ever again. People want to feel good when they spend thier money not angry felt like they been ripped off. I will say this. The waitstaff was really courteous and did service us well. We still left a tip because they kept checking to see if we were doing okay and refilled our water. I will not fault them for the bad food and management that currently oversees the restaurant. read more

Not terribly impressed. All sushi rolls are made with imitation crab meat. One buffer is dedicated to Asian food and the other is soups and American food, the desert bar has more than the Asian bar. read more

Me and my husband used to love this place. We were regular customers that spent money here at least once a week. But last week we went and the host kept trying to make us sit in the back. They know us and know what area we like best. Then when we was going to settle for the back cause she refused to let us sit up front and sat us at the back table she looked inconvenienced and said she didn't have a waitress for the table. Then why make a big deal about us sitting in the back and when you do you then remember you have no waitress for the table? And the hostess had a terrible attitude. Just cause I WAS a regular doesn't mean you can have a ugly attitude towards me. I will definitely not be a regular no more. I will never ever come back here again. There are way to many Chinese buffet in the area to choose from. Lings food is terrific, but like my dad says, they may have the best food in the world, but if the service is horrible I'll never go back. No matter how good the food is, if the service sucks its not worth going back. Not all the staff is like that, but the hostess is the first one to greet you, and She didn't even care that we just turned around and walk out. read more

the decor is not indicative of the restaurant. there was a decent number of people in the restaurant... and i am confused as to why. mac&cheese had a crusty layer several hours thick. bacon wrapped shrimp was extremely dry and chewy. pepper chicken and wonton were the only tolerable dishes. service was good, but I will choose taco bell or McDonalds next time. about 2 hours removed and I feel ill. read more

The only thing I will say about this embarrassing excuse of a Chinese restaurant is the self serve fozen yogurt and cookies are an apology for the epic fail that is Ling's. Chinese buffets are supposed to be Chinese buffets. Not a little bit Chinese and a lot American with a bit of seafood and a splash of sushi all served buffet style. I love the fried rice the best... I like it more than any other buffet. Why? Because it is not dried and hard like most Chinese restaraunts. Seriously, you know what I'm talking about. And it isn't greasy either. It's quite different from other restaraunts' rice. I recommend it. Also, the green beans and chicken dishes are yummy as well. The lo mein is lo meiny. Some chow mein and improved beef dishes would give another star... But all in all, it's a good restaraunt, and affordable, especially for the area. I always expect to spend a little more in Atascocita then Pasadena/Dear Park, but it's like the same. w00t! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I ate there and found a small worm in my food. I pointed it out to the waitress and while she apologized profusely, the manager didn't do anything. He took 3 dollars off my meal that I shouldn't have had to pay for in the first place but didn't apologize at all. Needless to say I have reported them and blasted their name on Facebook. First visit a few weeks ago was wonderful! But tonight as we finished our meal my husband saw a small roach crawling on a round part of the wall by ceiling near the food. Looked lost. When walking out the manager just happen to be under where the roach was and I told him to look up, he's got roaches! Will not ever be back. I came here with my mom and sister. I don't care what people have to say about the food, y'all are picky but the quality and variety of Asian food they have is amazing. First off, the owner of the establishment is always keeping an eye on the buffet station to make sure it's clean and organized, which tells you that seeing a mess at the food stations isn't a thing. The servers super friendly and the buffet prices are quite affordable. The sushi, fried rice, orange chicken, sugar bread, and (yes) macaroni & cheese(all of my favorites) could not taste better. I guess once the orange chicken was over cooked but i'm not a baby, I'm not gonna complain. Dude they have free ice cream!!! The fact that they have also american food like mac & cheese, salmon, and chicken nuggets(I think) really shows how there's food for everyone. they could definitely change the chairs in the booths though, they're a bit worn out and kind of uncomfortable. read more

I live right down the road from this place and have taken out the buffet several times. This place has gotten exponentially worse. Tonight my daughter's egg roll and shrimp tasted like the oil was bad. And I should have stopped when I saw the not-so-salmon colored Salmon sushi, but I didn't. Shame on me, I was afraid I'd have to call in sick for work so I didn't eat it. This place wasn't 5 stars, but it was also never just one star. hay this place is great and so are the people... where i live iv noticed black people running out with out paying ''a lot'' then they say it sux.. lol some well nicer then nice black woman took my car keys!!! they had an employee watch my honda until i got back with the spare keys.. i can't say enough the help is out standing.. ps she had another black guy drop the keys off hours later.. when i returned with my key she had moved her car next to mine.. but with one of ''Lings'' girls watching the whole time they did not get my car..crime is every where and its all race's my gun is in hand when walking to and from a store to my car... go Zimermen your black grand dad is all thumbs up!!!! read more

the management is really horrible. i told him that there were kids putting their hands in all the food and he did nothing. i dont know who else would like to eat germ filled food but i do not. the management does not even care about the health of its customers. so yeah not ever going back there. read more
