The place I got my dress from wanted to charge $300 EXTRA on top of my alterations for it being "rushed". Obviously was not going to pay that so I went to David's Bridal to get it altered since they said they do dresses that were not purchased from there. They legit told me "sorry we can't help you". I never had anything altered & I took my work jumpsuit in and it was great timing, she didn't take too long to get it back to me, but when I tried the jumpsuit there I didn't pay much attention. Until I went home & went to work I notice that one leg was longer than the other by a lot. I didn't have enough time to take it back right after. So I just took it somewhere else after. Brought in 5 pairs of sweat pants to get tapered and hemmed. A bit strange to get sweat pants tailored but I like my sweat pants and they're my favorites but they were all too baggy and saggy, so made an appointment to bring in the sweats and take a look at them if possible to taper and hem. Picked up the sweats after 4 days and they were exactly what I was looking for, perfect fit, tapered, hemmed, length everything was perfect. Ms. Ling was hella cool and hella funny to chat with while there getting sized and measured for the alterations. The alterations came out perfect and would definitely bring any future alterations I have to her, highly recommended!!! Ok, now I didn't have any services done here, I merely went to keep my sister Ivy O. company before heading over to China Palace for my lunch. We walked in and the lady (my guess is Mrs. Ling) was so nice, she immediately stopped what she was doing and came from behind the counter to see what we needed. I have two beautiful floor length dresses that I bought a couple of years ago from Bebe for a trip to Cancun. What I always forget is that Bebe makes clothes for 6' tall models...not regular 5'6" women like myself. So I hauled both dresses down to Cancun. I wore one out to a fabulous dinner and even in 4" heels, the dress was touching the ground (really??). No bueno. Not only was I stressing because my not-cheap dress was periodically dragging on the ground, but, by this time, I was worried I was going to break my ankle in 4" heels after so much wine. Back to the states, and these dresses were retired to the back of my closet. First, I made the decision that NO one was touching these dresses who couldn't do work (Big Black Boykin style). Ling is awesome! I came in one day to get my dress pants altered after buying a new one because a dry cleaning place messed up my pants. I needed the pants the next day morning since it was a big day for me for my management interview. After explaining my situation and not even fully hoping that she will be able to do it for me the same day, ( I came in around 12pm) she politely said she will do it for me w/o any extra cost. She promised at 4:30pm but I got a call around 3 that it is ready for pick up. The fit was exactly how I wanted. Ling is very humble. I was personally touched by her since there is no way I would be able to get to that interview without dressing up. I've been going to Ling's for alterations for the past 3-5 years. I'm a guy so I would typically just roll up my pants and be done with it, but with work slacks, it doesn't look really professional. The workmanship is excellent since none of my pants have come loose at the hem yet and she's very easy to deal with. I've also gotten my True Religion jeans hemmed also with the original hem and they turned out great. In the last 3-5 years I've probably had about a dozen slacks and a dozen jeans hemmed and no problems at all. She also repaired my ripped 7 jeans and made it look original. Nice! The only down side to going here is that you'll probrally want to alter all your clothes so they fit nice. $$$ One last thing. Remember to bring the shoes that you want to wear with the pants (if you want a hem) so they can be properly sized. She will recommend a length for you. read more

Been going here for several years now. It has grown quite a bit over the years and I'm so happy to see that it has it is a definite sign that her business has become a success. Ling is the person that you'll see when you walk through the door and the bell, chime's you in. She'll greet you with a warm smile and a friendly " hello." Then a few weeks ago I scored a classic, mint-condition, full-length, cashmere-lined, Burberry trench coat from a consignment shop in Davis - score! Being vertically challenged I knew I had to hem off quite a bit, but I needed someone skilled that wouldn't ruin my new treasure. Her shop is clean, bright and Ling herself is personable and knows her stuff. She had my coat back to me in a week and did an amazing job. When u bring in 3 pairs of shorts and a pair of jeans and ask them to be taken in an inch on waist for all 4. You'd think simple? She couldn't figure it out maybe she didn't want to do it. Regardless if you own an alteration shop and can't "alter" or figure out an inch well then....prob in wrong business. She won't help me Store was pretty empty w clothes meaning customers....this probably explains why......oh and if you leave sign on door saying you'll be back by certain time a good business would come back at that time not 30 minutes later. So after driving back twice, waiting an extra 30 minutes and turned away for an inch alteration....pretty much sums up bad business... Look elsewhere read more

She quickly, efficiently, and the price was bette than I expected. I've already returned to her to have many more patches added to my vest as well as a leather jacket. We found a prom dress for my daughter that we loved but it was sooo big on her! I found Ling on Yelp and messaged her through the app. The owner got back to me right away and we had an appointment within the next day or two. She only works by appointment which is actually really nice because she dedicates that time specifically to you and really studies the dress and what needs to be done. My daughters dress was complicated by the fact that it was a lace overlay on top with a layered tulle bottom and had to be taken in quite a bit. Ling had the dress ready a week early and did an amazing job, it fit her like a glove! She also shortened the length to fit her shoes but only in the front which created a slight train in the back that was so elegant. It wasn't cheap, but again the dress required a lot of work and it came out perfect. She was also incredibly personable and kind. Thank you so much for being a part of this special night! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I came here today because I needed a simple alteration on my daughters jeans. When we walked in I told her what I needed, and she goes " okay did you want to use the bathroom, or should we just do a couple inches?" I said okay let my daughter use the bathroom, she goes okay over there very rude tone. Then I asked how much is alterations, she said $10.00. Then I asked how about with the original helm. She said $27.50. To confirm I said so it's more for the original helm? She goes well $27 is more then $10 right? Bring a smart ass owner. That pissed me off, and I left. Overall, not a good experience. The proprietor is rude and obstinate. If she disagrees with what you would like done, even if it what you ask is possible, she will not do it. My daughter is getting married 6/21/14 and her wedding gown needed alterations. We are happy we came to Ms. Ling. We came here early May. She helped us right away when we walked in. There are dressing rooms by the front counter so you can change into the clothing you need altered. Ms. Ling spent a lot of time looking at the dress and giving her opinions to us about how much should be taken in, hemmed, etc. She made sure we were happy with how the dress looked after she pinned the dress on the sides and length. We even discussed adding a bustle so the back of the dress can be pinned up for dancing, etc. Once everything is discussed and the alterations are agreed to and approved, then she gave us her prices for the work needed . She also told us what date it would be ready. NOTE: YOU MUST PAY WITH YOUR ATM/DEBIT CARD...DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY CREDIT CARDS!! It was pricey($$$) to have my daughter's mail order dress altered, but I feel it was well worth it. Ms. Ling said the dress would be ready on 6/18 and it was. We called yesterday and she told us to come on by today. My daughter tried on her dress and it fit beautifully!! I also had brought a pair of my son's pants here for Ms. Ling to hem. I asked her to please hem it with the same stitching as on the pants now. My son is very impressed with the way his hem was stitched....just like it was when he bought the pants. Ms. Ling's work is done so professionally one would never know, or guess, that my daughter's dress or my son's pants were altered in any way. She has my vote for the best seamstress. We can relax a little more, knowing my daughters dress is ready for her big day. Her prices seemed steep, until she explained that she would have to remove the invisible zipper, take in the sequin top and replace the zipper. Ling is such a sweet heart! From the moment I opened the door, she had a huge smile on her face and welcomed me in. She had me go in the dressing room and change, asked what I was looking to fix, took a quick look, started pinning and was done in 5 mins! Within those 5 mins I felt like a princess.
