Came in for a dimensional balayage and absolutely love it! I had red hair before and then covered it with a black box dye then had it bleached. My hair was 3 different colors when I walked in. They also gave me some snacks and water which was nice of them. I came to Linh's just looking to get about 5 inches taken off, and Linh was the one who took care of me. She did a great job and was very precise with my hair. I also appreciated her suggestions about adding some layers and giving my hair more shape. The salon itself is really nice and well decorated. Each station has a good amount of space, so it doesn't feel crowded. It was only $5 more than what I expected when I made the appointment because I decided to go with Linh's suggestion to add layers, which I didn't mind at all. This is what it looks like after air drying out of the shower (using only conditioner) and running my fingers through it a couple times. Disaster. Their prices are very resonable, and Wednesdays they have a discount if you mention instagram! The coloring process takes a really long time so make sure you have the time, and nothing planned on the day of your appointment, especially if they have to bleach your hair first. I don't think I will ever go anywhere else for my hair! I have a pretty demanding request... sensitive scalp... split dye and tone... darker hair so bleach usually needed to be used twice! But the hair stylists here are so professional, collaborative, and helpful. The prices are reasonable and I'd happily pay more for the service. After looking at reviews, I decided to take a chance and go try somewhere new. This salon required a consultation before the appointment which I didn't mind doing. The salon asked me to go in at anytime that day to do the consult. I took the time to go in and granted they had a few clients I waited until she was ready to give me my consultation. It had been about 25 minutes and again I was very patient because I knew she was somewhat busy. She then asks me while she's working on another clients hair what my hair history is etc. I was a little thrown off because I thought this was going to be a consultation where she looks at my hair and then we talk about options or suggestions and pricing. However, I was flexible and explained to her about my hair history. She said can we do a test strand to see if your hair will lift to do a light color because I still had some red tones left from my hair from the last time I got it done. I said no problem. She had another employee do this test strand. When it was done processing she took about another 15 minutes to even come over and look at it. When she did she said no you can't do a light color yet because of the left over red that's still in your hair. You would have to bleach your whole head to get the blonde back. I totally understood and respected her word. After that, she said okay well are you good or do you need me to dye the test strand back? I was like of course I don't want to leave with a random strand of bleached hair. After that I could see her face change and she told the employee to fix it. She went back to her client and did not pay any mind to me after that. During processing time of dying my test strip back to my regular color I was waiting to see if she'd come over and talk to me about the options besides just over all bleach and also how much this would cost but she never did. I finally got her attention and asked how much would it cost to get all of what she said done and she quickly responded with the price then turned her back to me and back to her other client. I felt very dismissed and uncomfortable at that point. Like since she knew my hair couldn't lift she didn't want to give me her time or energy anymore because she knew I wasn't going to be putting money into her pocket that day. I'm sitting there hoping this timer will go off so I can get this test strand done and I can get out of there. The timer eventually goes off but she doesn't care. She doesn't have any of her employees help me out. I wait for about 10 minutes because it's not in me to be confrontational or rude but even after waiting there's no one coming to help me out. So I nicely ask her can someone please help me take this out? She quickly responds you have to wait and then finally tells someone to come help me. Another employee helped me take it out and was very kind. However when I was done the owner did not say anything to me. No follow up, no do you want to schedule an appointment? No I'm sorry we couldn't do your hair today but thanks for coming in. Just pure silence, dismissal and watched me walk out the door. Horrible business and attitude as an owner. I'm very disappointed and was left feeling uncomfortable. I would not recommend in terms of service and it just being transactional instead of customer focused, no matter if they can or cannot get their hair done. I felt listened to as well  She got me shampooed and worked with me to really understand what I was looking for. The end results turned out even better than what I expected.  It was a bit warm that day so she made sure to go quickly so that I didn't overheat, which was very considerate! She styled it at the end and it turned out great! I was very happy with my cut and the price was so affordable! $36 for a women's haircut and charge my boyfriend $ 22  not including the tip. I've been needing to do my hair for a while and had been here like 6/7 months ago so decided to return. I wanted to make an appointment online but it said I should book a consultation first so I decided to call. Upon calling they asked for my availability and within 15 minutes I was in the salon getting a consultation with Linh. Because they had availability I literally got my hair done right after, which worked out great for me. It took about 2-3 hours for an all over color, cut, wash, dry, and straightening. That is pretty quick with someone like my hair which is thick and textured. They have a special on Wednesdays for 20% off so that was pretty neat too! I really liked that I waited no more than 5 minutes to be seated at a chair, I was offered drinks and snacks, and although there was a language barrier Thanh? (The man) consistently asked if I was doing okay or if I liked it. I would also like to mention that towards the end of my visit there was a customer who came in and was pretty rude possibly due to language differences; however, Linh handled it so gracefully. They helped the customer and she left quickly after getting the service she came in for. read more

A coworker suggested coming to Linh's for cut/bleach as it was closer (I usually get my hair done by someone in Federal Way). I made an appointment for a men's haircut through the website and scheduled for 10:30am. The plaza has parking spots but some are tiny (smaller than compact) and some are normal sized. I walked into Linh's and the hair stylists looked confused to see me. There were about 4-5 chairs with about 4 hair stylists. I let them know I had an appointment but all the chairs were full with people getting their hair colored. I was instructed to wait and it took about 20 minutes before getting seated. There was a slight language barrier between me and my stylist but everything turned out good and she understood what I wanted (2 on the sides and an inch off the top). She was also super nice and detail oriented. All in all, my haircut was about $17 after tax but before tip. I'll definitely come back for the cuts but I think the appointment system needs a little bit of work otherwise you could be waiting a bit longer after your scheduled time. read more

I have been here twice now and absolutely love this salon. The first time I was here was last year and I came as a walk in to get my hair cut. I wasn't sure what I wanted and the lady walked me through all the styles that would fit my face the best. We ended up going with a long bob which is super different than what I usually get and I was in love with it. I came back on Saturday to get my hair colored. I previously went to a different salon and instead of getting ash brown highlights I walked out with orange highlights. When I sat down on Saturday, I showed them a reference picture of what I would like and they worked with me to really understand what I was looking for. This post is long over due! Since living in Seattle, I was having a hard time finding someone who knows how to color Asian hair! I would say her price point is pretty fair averaging $250-$300 for cut/color considering if you go to a boutique salon in Seattle you would be expecting to pay $400+! My hair is naturally thick and black so in the past I would have to get my hair redone because the color never came out right. I rarely give one star reviews, but unfortunately here we are. A group came here and it was a very poor experience overall. Three people had their hair done for a wedding and everyone was dissatisfied. Firstly, it was pricey. Then, there were several hidden fees with ridiculous upcharges (for example, 2 people had their hair shampooed by the stylist (without being asked) and then were charged $20 EACH). In addition, one person after her hair was washed and dried, had no styling whatsoever besides a few curls. When asked, the stylist demanded more money. Overall, very unprofessional and expensive for hair styling. You can probably go down the road and find another salon for cheaper with better service. read more

When I got to the salon there was a bit of a wait since they were very busy around 4:30pm. After a bit of a wait they got me shampooed and sat down in one of the small side rooms. I knew I was gonna be in the area so I made an appointment on the website which was incredibly easy and organized, and they even sent a text and email confirmation closer to my appointment. I arrived 30 minutes early but decided to walk in because it wasn't too busy on a Tuesday afternoon. I got seated right away and the man (I forgot his name) asked me how much hair I wanted off and how I wanted it cut. From sitting in the chair to leaving, I was probably there a total of 30 minutes and I honestly loved my cut! I only wanted a trim so nothing too crazy, but it was still one of the fastest cuts i've had! I paid $30 plus tip which is amazing for a women's haircut and it was well worth it. If you're looking for a no frills haircut place that'll do a good job, I definitely recommend this salon. No one communicated to me that Linh is running late until she was called on to explain to me. If you are going to run late, just reply to my text letting me know so I don't have to play "bad-cop" figuring out your whereabouts. When my hair was being washed to " tone the color" down, I was left at the sink for 45 minutes when the hairstylist told me it will only take 20'. When I asked how much longer, the reply was: " Just a bit longer". No one ever checked on my hair until they finally remember about me. Then I got put on another route of color, this time I was asked to wait 30 minutes. I actually waited an hour because (1) want to make sure my hair color comes out right despite I was told only to wait 30mins and (2) no one checked on me so I just waited. After being there for 4hrs30mins, I decided to call it the day and requested for my hair to get over with. They washed, conditioned and cut my hair accordingly after I expressed the sense of urgency. I walked out of there paying $210 for services that I thought it should be a decent 3- star or above due to the price tag but in fact I felt horrible. I saw other customers being attentive to and they only paid $20 for hair cut so not sure what's wrong in this picture. Finally, if your hair salon continues advertising great customer service and price, then you should hold true to it. There are Tons of hair salons in MLK area and if you are so proud at your hairstyling skills, then you should be extraordinary, not a decent service. This is not my 1st time visiting you, and so far, this time was the worst. I hope this long feedback will help you to slow down and review everything I commented.
