***NOT dog friendly I called and spoke to Patricia. I was looking for an outdoor friendly floor covering for my partially covered balcony. The current astroturf makes it very difficult to remove the millions of pine needles that blow onto my balcony everyday. Patricia gave me some options and approximate prices so I had an idea of what I'd be looking at price wise. They carry 6 ft rolls thankfully. Home Depot only had 12ft rolls. My balcony is 5.5ft across. So woohoo! Less waste. I was happy with what Patricia told me on the phone so went in to check out the options she mentioned. She gave me really good prices and samples right away. Excited to get this project done so I can finally use my balcony as it will be so easy to sweep it clean with the vinyl flooring vs astroturf. Linoleum City is an incredible place to purchase high end commercial AND reasonably priced residential tile, linoleum, etc etc. they have it all! (Including vintage hard to find pieces, no wonder Hollywood set designers shop there.) My family is thrilled with our new kitchen floor after working with Linoleum City. Patricia is amazing and we are so grateful for all of her help while we were being super indecisive about color choices with Marmoleum Piano.. I was repeatedly frustrated that certain colors are only available in Europe for Forbo, Armstrong, etc and that a lot of linoleum colors we loved (lighter colors & pastels, linoleum with beautiful textures/confetti/designs) were discontinued here in America. When we finally figured out what colors we wanted to use from the available choices Patricia was a great help with figuring out the cost, ordering from Forbo, and making sure our shipment arrived in a timely manner since we had some time sensitive things going on (moving into a new home, refrigerator arriving, etc). I think the most helpful thing Patricia did for us was recommend Rafael Ventura for the linoleum installation. I have seen first hand what happens when linoleum is installed incorrectly between the sides peeling up & revealing old floor underneath, seams looking terrible, and scuff marks. Rafael is a master of his craft and was able to get our floor looking perfect with a really nice symmetrical border. Rafael and his guys did a fabulous job and I don't think we would have heard about him if we had not gone to Linoleum City to begin with. I went in yesterday before closing to purchase some turf remnants and was Given Larry to assist. he seemed exasperated and annoyed with helping me do the math. He proceeded to try to oversell me more than I needed despite the measurements I gave him, he wasn't very interested in giving me the right amount, just selling me the most he could. He also refused to cut it for me to take home, I had to return the next day only to find it was still 2 yards too much, knowing he said it wouldn't be ready till noon, I tried to get ahead of it. i returned only to find it was already cut despite them refusing to do it the day before resulting in 2 hours of my time wasted. they also refused to adjust the cost need because of his rudeness. I go there a lot for set needs but will likely find an altermative. It was a traumatic jarring and exploitative buying process. read more

This place is as good as they say it is. We came by on a Saturday morning. We went upstairs to the showroom first. WHICH IS HUGE AND VERY OVERWHELMING. After deciding on what we thought we wanted, we came downstairs. That's when we found the existing inventory section, which is cheaper. Chris helped us pick one that we like and recommended a double sided tape to us for installation ourselves. He also explained to us the different options we have for baseboards. We ended up paying less than $60 for a small roll of linoleum and the double sided tape. We got a great deal and great service to boot. Thank you Linoleum City! I would have totally given 5 stars but - as with a couple of the one-star reviewers (mostly female) who got ignored and treated as invisible on the ground floor by all the guys-talking-with-other-guys - my first moments were enough to chase me out of there. BUT I'M GLAD I STAYED. First off, you walk into a CITY of flooring, so not being able to get any guy to acknowledge me was almost a deal-breaker. (and believe me, I was VERY motivated to buy!) Finally I literally planted myself in front of one of them (since the ones protected by a counter has been able to easily look through me.) and asked, "IS THERE ANYONE I CAN GET ADVICE FROM BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT RESULT I WANT?!" Happily he pointed to the stairs...And that's where the magic started because I was helped by PATRICIA (who literally will not stop until she has found you what you'd pictured in your floor-fantasy.) Her taste and resourcefulness were impeccable. (as were her communications skills. Email her and she will respond! I LOVELOVELOVE MY PERFECT, SUNNY HAPPY BATHROOM FLOOR. And if you can manage to request CESAR to do the physical work, he was amazing. He worked quickly, clean, all the finishing touches and flourishes. Plus he was just a warm presence during the time he was here. Oh Wait! One more thing about The Guys Who Can't Be Bothered. After Cesar did the initial review of the space he gave me several items to charge over the phone so he could have everything he needed the next morning. I cannot even describe the abruptness and rudeness of the (downstairs?) guy who answered. I had barely finished my first sentence, saying, "So Cesar is laying the floor and needed me to...." And that was it! "The Guy" gruffly kept saying "We have no Aaron! We have no Aaron!" And the more I kept helplessly enunciating "CesarCesarCesar" (because now i was soooooo close to having my beautiful floors) the angrier he got. But I am ultimately REALLY HAPPY. This place just can't seem to get it right! The recurring theme here is horrible customer service! In a time when small businesses are struggling, you'd think the customer service would be a priority. No greeting or acknowledgment when you walk in. Older, grumpy sales person (maybe owner) yelled at me for having my 5 lbs dog enclosed in a carrier hanging from my shoulder. To the owners of this place, there's a ton of competition in Los Angeles. typical review for this place- and I am in the design trade. Their acknowledgement of customers and customer service is sub-par or at best uneven. Call it a tradition. The classic LC experience is to stand at the counter for 30 minutes while salespeople catch up with soap opera art department schleps, and avoid any pretense of making eye contact. I was there recently when a manager was forcing/overseeing Salvador to greet and deal with customers- it was hilarious- he was so efficient. Then when I went to pick up my order (no manager around) he did the classic routine: waste tons of time chit chatting with a PA who already had his order filled, then after 15 minutes finally acknowledge and ask to help a guy who came in 2 minutes before, completely ignoring the fact I had been standing there. I'm going to put my 2 cents in on Linkedin and tell other exhibition designers not to use this place based on their amazingly shitty customer service. read more

Linoleum City is one of the biggest and best flooring stores I have ever seen. The current location is practically brand new and the size of a football field. It is full of all kinds of beautiful flooring tiles and wall cover. They also have a huge carpet and vinyl section for you super cheap and thoughtless landlords. Upstairs they have a huge repository of designer books of all kinds of decor implements. You can save a fortune over prices at the Pacific Design Center. Marcel is an outstanding salesman who knows his product lines backwards and forwards. If you need guidance with your job, I highly recommend calling the store in advance and making an appointment to see Marcel personally and then showing up with a phone full of photos of the area you want to design. I have been using this business for many years buying materials for all kinds of houses. I love Linoleum City and have since the first moment I walked into their previous showroom when it used to be on Wilton and Santa Monica. Was referred here from a friend. He told us they can custom make your rug. They provide the materials, you choose the size and format. We purchased a childs design carpet. Instead of getting the expensive name brand we thought we had to get, service offered us a lower, cheaper knock off selection. For half the price we originally thought we'd have to pay, they worked out a deal with us and helped us figure out a way we could have the carpet lay as an area rug for her bedroom instead. I'm very satisfied with the quality of the customer service and assitance we received. I'm also very satisfied with the purchase we made. Only took them a few days to make the rug for us. read more

What a mess. I'm trying to fix a bathroom floor for a room I am trying to rent out ASAP. I went in person to their store about 3 weeks ago. I picked out the material I wanted to use, and put in a request for measurement and estimate on labor and materials. I was expecting a call by end of day, or at least the day after. I waited a few days and finally called again to remind them, and spoke with someone to schedule an appt for last Saturday. After they came and took the measurements, it's now Saturday, a full week later, and still no estimate on cost. So I called again. Evidently my email was wrong, even though I WROTE IT DOWN FOR THEM. And they give me an extraordinarily high estimate. My bathroom is 80sq ft, they gave me a final cost estimate of $899. What a rip-off. Not to mention thank you for wasting 3 weeks of my time.
