We had a great, GREAT server named Maggie Chen, whose name I am mentioning here due to the fact she was able to set us up with a free desert for a kind (and fair!) review. So here is my (updated) review: - The rolls we ordered were tasty and fresh. (For me, the Rapunzel Roll SLAPS. I ordered the same one - unknowingly - both times I have been here!) - We shared the Wagyu dumplings and the Shrimp shumai and they were honestly SOOOO GOOD. Finger-licking good!! - We also shared then chicken lo mein - also delicious and a big portion (there were some leftovers) - The staff is always kind and very friendly. Again, Maggie was really sweet, accommodating, took pictures for us and of course helped sing the HBD song which never not embarrasses me ever. darn. time. The ambiance is also always very chill, but a hit higher scale, with its beautifully colored mosaic-like rounded booths and a big, full bar, too. Knowing Mito is so good now and so close to my house can be a bit of a problem. I may become a regular but I guess that'd be a good thing for the business, HA. Thanks Mito for a special birthday dinner! Here's to more to come.

First, the owners are some of the kindest, most thoughtful hosts you could hope to meet. You can feel how much they care about their community the moment you walk in. They've also made real efforts to make the space accessible for different bodies, which is something that far too few restaurants consider. That level of intention and hospitality truly stands out. And then there's the food -- absolutely phenomenal. Every dish feels intentional, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Standouts for me: Shrimp Toast - the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp, rich, and balanced. Duck - deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection. Ribs - tender, savory, and incredibly satisfying. Char Siu - sweet, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Eggplant - unbelievably delicious and a must-order. Monkey King is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Amazing food, genuine hospitality, and a space that feels welcoming and thoughtful. Highly recommend supporting this gem.

Even the bathroom was impressively nice, which always says a lot about a restaurant's attention to detail. The food and drinks were on point. The crab fried rice, fried shrimp toast, rib lamb were all flavorful and well-prepared. One standout for me was the spring rolls--they were so good, crispy and packed with flavor. The drinks were also great, making the overall dining experience even better. Between the great food, nice atmosphere, and convenient location, it's definitely a place I'd go back to again. Alexa greeted us and took our order she's amazing! If you're planning a date night or a nice dinner out, Monkey King is a solid choice.

It's my favorite place to bring people to share an amazing meal and they always love it too. Mimi is always super friendly and kind and the space is very inviting! Our favorite things we have to get is the BLT fried rice and the rice noodle rolls. We tried some of their new menu items since reopening and we definitely have some new staples to add. The crispy octopus was so tender and flavorful, you can taste the love in it. Usually not one to order deserts but we got to try their mango sticky r-ice cream and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I felt like I was eating my SEA childhood as an ice cream. 10/10 please stop by if you live in NYC or visiting!! You won't be disappointed.

Thanks to fellow Yelp Elites Chun and Jeannie for organizing this group dinner so we could return to Driftwood! There were 8 of us dining tonight; sharing many dishes. We literally ordered everything on the menu (except two dishes), including their 3 desserts! What a delicious feast! Our Feast Tonight (14 Snacks/Entrees & 3 Desserts): -- Milk Bread $10 -- Endive Salad $13 -- Mala Tots $10 -- Salmon Seaweed Crisps $16 -- Golden Crab Bao 2/$17 -- Charcoal seared scallops $17 -- Stir-Fry Peashoots $13 -- Chicken Mochi Waffles $15 -- Rice Noodle Rolls $18 -- BLT Fried Rice $22 -- Roasted Bone Marrow w.Toast $18 -- Pork Belly Wraps $18 -- Pork Ribs w.Sweet Potatoes $16 -- Fresno Gouda Cornbread $9 Desserts: -- Persimmon Cake Roll $11 -- Asian Pear Sorbet $12 -- Milk Tea Pudding (Earl Grey) $8. The 2 menu items we DIDN'T order (only because it was just too much food for us): -- Driftwood Burger $20 -- Driftwood Seafood Boil $48 (although we didn't order the Boil this time, I had it in the past and this seafood boil was delicious!). Each dish was better than the next. I've gone to my fair share of group dining events but these dishes were on another level. Fresh ingredients, innovative food combinations & flavors, each dish completely different from the next. I was going to list all my fave dishes but I realized that every dish would fit into that category! You can't go wrong with whatever you decide to order. Do yourself a favor: grab some friends, and try all their dishes like we did! This was a phenomenal shared meal experience! Even though we were completely FULL after our 14 Snacks/Entrees, we HAD TO also order all 3 of their desserts (shared by 8). A perfect way to end this fabulous meal! Note that their liquor license is coming soon but in the meantime, try one of their unique, refreshing mocktails! They also have a bunch of games at the bar, which you can bring to your table to play while waiting for your food. Parking: plenty of free street parking is available. There is also plenty of metered parking; free after 7pm. Big thanks to Owner Mimi and Chef for their hospitality and fine foods. We had such a great time! See you again soon!

On a positive note, the shrimp is probably the best menu item. Seasoned well and the sauce is great. I'd pass on the elote. It is crusted with seaweed which is just weird to me ...but if you like that then hey. The chips with the guac was a miss this time. The teriyaki chicken was cool The chicken chili fried rice was undercooked. And once again the branzino was an absolute miss. All around not one single person liked it . As far as the sides the sweet plantains were great . The mashed potatoes were terrible. I had to show the manager . There was nothing smooth and creamy about this. I literally cut it with a knife. She said wow ok I see . And gave us complimentary shrimp because of it. The desserts are a hard pass . Cheesecake and molten lava cake and just nothing special . The cheesecake is grainy . You can feel the sugar in your mouth. And the chocolate molten cake is a microwaved something if you want to call it cake . Our server was very responsive to our requests. I just wouldn't willingly come here again. Gave it the good ole three tries and now I can confidently say I'm good off it . Don't need to come back . I've had enough strobe lights and loud music. Shout out to the dancers tho! Bravo PS. The bar is top tier . If they opened the restaurant only for bar service, then I would certainly come in for that. Shout out to the elite bar tenders.

And this Asian fusion spot stands up among others in Queens Blvd. First it was super cute since. Big leather booths, with dim lighting. The menu went on for day and was pretty intimidating. They had katsu and curry which I almost went for but the spicy coconut noodles were calling my name. I am getting ahead of myself. That was the main event. Before that we had rock shrimp, which were HUGE. The spicy mayo made my nose run. I wasn't made about it. The star of the night was the dinosaur egg appetizer. Spicy tuna and salmon hugged by avocado and surrounded by shaved carrot. This literary was the best of the night. We got the Pacific roll, and although good it did not live up to our massive dinosaur egg that exceeded our expectations. Shout out to the servers for not rushing us out. Also the bathroom was solid! Clean, two gender neutral bathrooms that were both surprisingly nice sizes. All in all, a surprisingly good find! Would definitely come back!

The gyuma was okay, but nothing special. The Chong Ching was also disappointing, and the portion size seemed smaller than before. The customer service wasn't great either, no one checked on us during the meal, and our water wasn't refilled unless we asked. Overall, the experience just didn't live up to how it used to be.
