"I grew up with the word "Railroaded"! I never ever understood the true meaning of the word. But, the feeling of being cornered, steamrolled, swindled, double talked, swindled, cheated, and hustled or Railroaded is what I now understand and have experienced. This is the first time in my life I have not been able to talk to the Managers, Owners, or Owners of Kids and they would make things right. The Callous attitude at Lippert's is so very sad for humanity. We, unfortunately, had been locked in with our builder's contract to deal with Lippert's for our flooring and tile. We were instructed to speak to S...E. We walked in saw the display room and it looked nice with prices. But, we were hustled off to the Backroom. No prices were displayed. There was a budget given to them ( not to us) for our needs. We were told we were going to be pointed out what was in our budget, and if we were to upgrade we were told the difference. I called my builders found out we had $5600 for flooring and carpet. Sounded reasonable. Lippert's told us if we were going to stay with that budget for a house 1760 ft. I would be all Vinyl and low-end carper for the bedrooms. The White Subway tile 3X9 inch would cost $8.89 per tile for our shower. Colors would cost 1 or 2 dollars more per tile. We got the Min we could and did not even touch the bathrooms floor's walls ETC. Paying them a Nice sum of money on top of our $5600. To get the other part done, They were telling us $8 to $13K more. And again that is the vinyl floor in the Second bathroom. Cheap white tile for backsplash. and in the master bath Cheap Vinyl Floor. White subway tile and penny dot tile for the walk-in shower with no doors, side drain and I supplied the Shower equipment. I spoke to the Manager of the Medford Office and she came back with a new but, that was $5K more. I tried to speak to the owner in Grants pass and got hung upon. found out the Son is running the place, so I wrote him. Not a Peep. Spoke to my Land Attorney who just got done building and she said he was displeased also. He overpaid for mediocre flooring, which he is planning on replacing in a few years. Spoke to my builders, well they have a contract and are waiting to end it. The backroom does not have prices, each person comes up with the prices and labor. depends on the person and the GREED. I broke down and paid $700 for 8ft by 8 ft of scrap sheet vinyl to be installed in my guest bathroom so I can have a toilet in the house. UGLY as Yuck I did not even get to pick it out. Kevin came to our house and took measurements for two extra rooms we plan as guest rooms, possible AirB&B rentals. Old carpeting and linoleum to contend with, etc. I also went to showroom to look over samples and was allowed to take some home for my husband and I to view further. There were two problems that arose after installation which was not detected in Kevin's assessment of our needs: the height of the new carpeting would impede easy closing of bathroom pocket-door and of the double-doors between bedroom and extra kitchen. We will be needing to have pocket-door filed down or shortened a bit to more easily slide it shut; the double-doors are metal and need replacing, which we considered doing anyway. Being a bit more detail-conscious is what puts some companies over and above others in such situations. The installers were professional, courteous and efficient. We're enjoying the look and feel of the new carpeting in those rooms but want to call attention to consumers and the company of this inconvenience. read more

Kevin at Lippert's was a great help to us during the replacement of our carpet. Long story short Kevin had to use a competitor's product to replace our carpet. Kevin came to my house to measure the square footage and discuss the situation during which he was extremely professional. The carpet was installed yesterday and, the two guys who installed were on time and quick. They helped me move all my furniture and return it when finished, spent only 3 hours​ installing the carpet and cleaned up before they left. We didn't want to go through them in the first place but my in-laws were the ones paying for it and wanted to go to a store that would know their product and direct them to the right one. They were very unhelpful, the prices listed on the show room are NOT what you pay. They didn't give us an estimate as promised and when asked numerous times they would promise again and still not deliver AND THEN finally when my mother-in-law called (two weeks after the estimate was promised) to complain nothing had happened our salesman was out and when he came back he ordered all our product at the unknown "special order price" and quoted us a $750 restocking fee! They will also sell you products without any knowledge of what they are doing, they sold me flooring for my bathrooms which is NOT nonslip my daughter falls on it if we don't have rubberbacked carpets all over it. Their products are nothing special they are the same things you can get at lowes and home depot for way less, save your money don't pay their way inflated prices! Finally when they came to measure they didn't do any more specific then we did ourselves. They also want to just slap any flooring on over what you already had regardless. I tried to talk to them about obvious problems in my bathroom and they just blow you off. They want to get you hooked and you can deal with any extra expenses later. Also find your own installers or do it yourself. When I pushed the issue that no there is an obvious problem in my bathroom floors and their installers should look at it because the salesman clearly didn't know a thing, the installers finally came out and the whole floor had to be ripped out. The job they did was okay but they had to cut out the floor and when asked to plastic off the opening of the bathroom they acted as if I was crazy. Saw dust went everywhere! And yes it is construction but it can still be attempted to be contained. They were also asked about doing my front entry in the future. It would need to be torn out and leveled, especially if tile is put in and they actually said it could not be leveled! I should have known right there they didn't really know what they were doing. read more

I would not recommend this company. Their installers are terrible. They were suppose to come back and finish putting molding between bathroom, and hall, and a bedroom. They never returned. This was at my mothers house, who has recently passed away. Now that I am at the house cleaning, I find out the bedroom carpets were never even secured to the floor, they were just laid down with no carpet tack strips! Lazy, and too expensive. My wife and I had to have our floor replaced due to a kitchen refrigerator leak and we were able to upgrade our floor [after insurance] to a waterproof vinyl plank [that looks like wood!] for $0 out of pocket. We contacted Carpet One because it was a long-time business for carpet and flooring in Southern Oregon. The salesperson/designer we worked with, Jennifer Fleener, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, helping us pick out engineered wood flooring, carpet, and tile for a "remodel" of our fireplace surround and hearth. We chose carpet, wood flooring and tile and had no problems until the install. My wife and I did the demolition, finding that the entry subfloor was apparently lower (3/16") than the surrounding subfloor because it had tile laid on it as opposed to the surrounding floor which had oak and laminate flooring. When we noticed the subfloor was lower than the surrounding areas we called Jennifer, twice, letting her know we had worries about the subfloor differences, and we asked that the contractor that was to install the new flooring call us about our concerns. Twice we were told she would contact the installer and have him contact us. We never received a call or visit from the contractor, who is the husband of Jennifer, the salesperson. The installer, Jennifer's husband Tom Fleener, arrived the day of the flooring install, and I told him of my concern about the subfloor (letting him know there was 3/16" difference between the different subfloors). I told him that the underlayment they were going to install should be 3/16" thicker in the entry so that all the finished flooring would be level throughout the house. Tom told me he didn't have time to contact every customer who had a question about their job, and that it was common on remodels that subfloors may be uneven. He told me they would "float" a material that would even out the floors so that the finished floors would be level and we wouldn't be able to notice any variation. Tom and his crew did "float" a material to bridge the gap between the two floor heights, on both sides of the entry, where the subfloor was lower. The underlayment was then installed on top of the subfloor, and then the engineered wood floor was installed on top of the underlayment. After the job was completed we could feel that the entry flooring is noticeably lower than the surrounding flooring (coming into and out of the kitchen and hallway). When the light is right we can also see the difference in the level of the floor because the sheen of the engineered wood shows the difference in levels between the flooring. We can continue to feel the differences in levels of the flooring. Additionally, we ordered 3 flush wood floor registers that were to match our flooring (maple wood). When Tom arrived to install the wood flooring we found that 2 of the registers were maple and one was oak, instead of 3 maple registers. We knew we had to have a third party stain and seal the registers, and the 2 maple registers match the flooring well but the oak register is noticeably different, even though the third party contractor did as good a job as possible in trying to match the stain color. On the other hand, we highly recommend the carpet installer: Scott Stephenson. He arrived on time, obviously knew his business, consulted us on install options, and even gave us tips on maintenance/repairs. He was very professional and personable. In summary, we spent close to $15,000 on carpet, engineered wood flooring, tile and labor. We liked working with Jennifer...she answered all our questions and concerns, and she would get back to us when requested. We would not recommend Tom as an installer. He did not contact us about our concerns and his solution to our problem ("floating") did not solve the problem of different floor heights. read more
