Looking for a fun girls brunch or night out? The only place in San Diego where you get to have fun with all the GIRLS! Bachelorette, birthdays, celebrations you name it. A meal, show, great music and beautiful women? Yes, yes and yas! These girls can dance and put on an amazing show. Not only are the performers are great, they are your service staff as well. Mind you the menu is alright, the vibes alone are great. Our server, Armani, was our favorite and the best dancer! Can't wait to come back again. Paris is such an amazing host. Loved all the outfit changes.
When is it not fun coming to lips the vibe is always sexy. People are always fun. The food is always so so the drinks are always so sold by the entertainment. The ambience is what we came from and the ladies is what we're here for.
I'll say this - WE HAD A TIME! Such a fun and lively show and definitely recommend for a fun time. Was looking for a local drag brunch and Lips was it!Came to celebrate my cousin's birthday. it was her first ever drag brunch and girl, DID SHE HAVE a time! All 3 of my stars go to the lovely ladies of Lips as they served and SERVED! Be sure to get you dollars ready and tip them big because they put on a GREAT show. They are funny, entertaining, and CRASS, so if you can't handle a joke - don't come - it's not for you. What it did lack though was the food. The dishes were cold and my chicken fried steak was incredibly salty tha I just couldn't finish it. My cousin got the chicken and waffles and it was cold and the waffles were hard as rocks. Again, the food wasn't the most important, but not being edible was a little disappointing. The drinks included were okay and a bit watered down, but I do recommend buying some extra shots to get you going. Again, we really came for the show, but the food and drinks could use some improvement. But if you're just looking for a good time, definitely check out Lips!
Absolutely WOW New Year's Eve at Lips is EVERYTHING Lips completely nailed New Year's Eve! From the moment we walked in, the energy was electric fun, welcoming, and over-the-top in the best way. The performers were hilarious, insanely talented, and kept the crowd engaged all night long. It was a true celebration and the perfect way to ring in the new year. And the special NYE menu just WOW. The salmon Wellington was perfectly cooked, the oysters Rockefeller were rich and delicious, and the chicken cordon bleu was pure comfort done right. Incredible food paired with nonstop entertainment made the night unforgettable. Drinks were flowing, the vibe was festive, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. If you want an unforgettable New Year's Eve with amazing food and fabulous entertainment, Lips is the place.
Absolutely the best show in San Diego. I went to a retirement party at Lips and I had a great time. The MC was hilarious and so sweet. The dancing was fantastic, Loved it. The food was Delicious, very unexpected. Big portions as well. Drinks were strong, Customer service was excellent and they keep everything going. I loved it and will be back with more friends. It's a must try
This might be my new brunch spot! A large group of us came to celebrate our friends birthday and see the amazing show! All of the food was amazing and the free-flowing mimosas and bloody Mary's were icing on the cake Our servers Jordyn and Lolita were so kind and accommodating for our group, and were two of the stars of the show! This is such a fun experience and really takes you out of your shell
My friends and I ( group is 12) came in this past weekend. It was the first time for everyone. Giving this establishment 3 stars because the food was gross!!!! Salad tasted sour, no one at my table ate it .. chicken strips has no flavor, cheeseballs were rancid tasting and chunky, etc... but I don't think they have a 5 star chef In the kitchen- I think they are just doing what they can! So I have to give them grace. On a more brighter note!!!! The performances are AMAZING!!!!!!!! 10/10 would highly recommend!!! Jokes are funny, wardrobe is beautiful!!! Athleticism was so shocking, The lady's are so friendly- it was a great experience!! My whole group loved it!! It was such a fun experience- I would do it again. ( just skip the food)
By far one of the coolest things that we did in San Diego on a recent bachelorette trip! Literally probably the peak of the celebration. I called about a month ahead to secure the group reservation for 10 people. We arrived arrived about 10-15 minutes before our 10:30 am showtime and ended up getting some really great seating right by the stage. Everything was so interactive and fun, the food was ever better than I expected. The drinks were stunning, we all got super drunk and just enjoyed life.
Wow, what an amazing experience. I went 25 years ago (when I was pregnant) and didn't remember how incredibly fun is. Not only was everyone friendly and kind, but they were also extremely talented. The decor is to die for. Tons of beautiful colors and sparkles and glitter. I highly recommend. High energy with lots of silliness involved.
Entertainment? 6 stars Service? 5 stars Ambiance? 5 stars Food? A questionable 3, but are you there for the food? Truly it's the sweet drinks and the even sweeter dolls that you're there for and that's what makes Lips amazing. My friends have been a few times, but I was glad to finally get the chance to go. We had a rough view with a pole in our way of the stage, but the queens dance perform everywhere and when I say perform, I mean PERFORM. Definitely one of the best drag shows I've been to.
This year I finally got to experience my first Lips show and dinner plus brunch for my birthday. Both times were entertaining and they really do take care of you. The queens are fabulous and so talented. I wish I had their wide range of skills but thoroughly enjoyed the show! Especially when my friends got taken up on stage to strip and collect some tips hehe. I would also like to point out the food is delicious! My steak was great and cakes at the dinner and even though I was wayyy too hung over to eat my brunch, I was told by my friends that the food and bottomless drinks were perfect pairings. I will keep telling people to go!
My girlfriends and I went to celebrate a birthday and it was a great time! They are constantly coming around making sure your drinks are topped off and the food was yummy. I got the chicken and waffles and it did not disappoint.
Always love coming to Drag Brunch at Lips and have probably spent 3 birthdays here. The food is always amazing and the drinks always flowing. You can get the bottomless mimosa or Bloody Mary option (but you can switch between the two as well, which i love). Be nice to your servers because they're also performing in the show, which is always amazing every time I go. The good sister will help you get change if you don't have time to go to the bank, but they have ATMs. Come with $20 bills and they will break it to ones for you.
The show alone makes a trip to Lips 100% worth it!! They aren't kidding when they say the mimosas are bottomless!! I've always had a good experience with the food at Lips, being genuinely surprised with its quality each time. The service is quick and fabulous. The ambiance is loud, exciting, and interactive. Lips is always a fun time for an event. I have been a couple times and it is always the same. The food is fine for what it is and if you go for brunch, your glass is never empty! It would be nice if there was more time for photos because it's such a cool venue but with multiple shows there really isn't. Most importantly- tip the ladies!! read more
I went here for Sunday Brunch for one of my friends birthdays. There was 9 of us in total, we got great sitting, right in front of the stage. Although the whole restaurant is structured to see the stage from any location. The restaurant is decorated in colors and disco balls; it's a very fun and colorful vibe! It's roughly $40 for an entrée, bottomless mimosas, and drag show entertainment! Definitely get your moneys worth! The performers put on a great show - beautiful outfits, great song chooses (that every can sing to), and funny jokes. Great service; my mimosa glass was very empty; but drinks weren't that strong. I ordered the steak + eggs; I guess I should know better that you can't order steak everywhere; a little disappointed in the food as well. But most importantly, my friend had a blast celebration for her birthday! I would recommend this place for a large celebration. read more
If you're claustrophobic you should avoid coming here becasue they pack you in like sardines. It's impossible that the fire code would allow that many people in such a small place. Worse than that is this show is just a 'money grab". The entire show is just about how much money you should be tipping them. Literally, that's the whole "show". They want you to give money to performers as they pass by, they want you to put money in the bucket that's in the middle of the table, then they come by with their own buckets to collect more money...and if they see any money on the table that you didn't put into a bucket...they will ask you for that money...and if you don't give it to them, they give you an attitude. I think the only reason that people enjoy this show is because they are drunk from the endless mimosas that they pour. That is the only value for the money. If you're not drinking (which we weren't due to the two hour drive home afterwards) it's a total rip off. The admission price of $37.00 seems like a cheap price, especially with endless drinks. However, you get what you pay for. The food was mediocre at best. I tried to order a diet coke and the drag queen taking our order made some smart remarks and I didn't know if I had actually ordered a soda or not. Well I guess not...because it never showed up. I had to beg for water to four separate people before they finally brought some over. The show was a complete joke. I've been to a few drag queen shows in Palm Springs and those were quality entertainment. Here, the performers are just lip syncing. They DO NOT sing at all. They do some dancing and some splits, etc but it wasn't entertaining to me. Perhaps if I'd had a lot of mimosas like everyone else I would have been more impressed. By the time they got done taking all of your money, it was about $100/per person. Definitely NOT WORTH IT!!! I'll stick with the more professional shows in the future. read more

01-22-2023 Amazing show! So much fun celebrating India's 21st birthday here. We all had a great time. Money well spent. Food was delicious! Enjoyed every bite of my salmon. Perfectly cooked! Entrance: To start: the host, Kickxy (loved her make up and outfit), checked us in at the reception area. The bar, Rudy made us feel welcome. Seated at table #41, 2 tables from the stage, really good views. Food: -Blacken Salmon -Penne Vodka -Bacon Cheeseburger -Mushroom Ravioli -Birthday $12- house cupcake. Drinks: -Lips Leg Glass $25 -Lolita Coladas $12.50 -Blackout Lemonade $12.50 -Picky Bitch $12.50 -Mai Tai $12.5 -Coke $6 Tipping dancers: They will change dollar bills for you so you don't need to bring them. You just wave your dollar bills in the air and dancers will come by and take it while performing. We tipped around $40. Service: 5/5 Armani and Tiffany (JLo) took good care of us. They were naughty! Israel (busboy) was speedy. Entertainers: Armani, Tiffany, Lolita, MoMo (Nicki Minaj) and Kickxy Vixen Styles did an awesome job of entertaining us. Hilarious! Loved their personalities. So fun to talk to them when they came by our table. *Birthday package: $12 Pic on stage with the host, stage time and a house cupcake with a candle. Not sure if the shot was part of this package (our bday girl didn't take part in doing the shot). Note: -20% will be automatically added to your bill. -$32.95 includes: refreshing green mixed salad, entree and cake. Great deal! -We went on a Sunday. That was the fee we paid. I've had so much fun at Gospel brunch yesterday- I really wouldn't mind doing it again! We came to celebrate my sister's rotation around the sun, full of laughs & free flowing libations. The pregnant nun did an AMAZING job emceeing the event. In her famous words, "Brothers and sisters!!" Check in at the hostess desk once you enter the main doors & revel in the colorful decor as a queen leads you to your table. But, before arriving at your table, you will pass the bar. Grab your poison of choice (mimosa, champagne, or Bloody Mary). Once seated, a queen will take your brunch order & also come around asking if anyone will need singles (dolla bills, y'all) for the show. *There's also an ATM located to the right side of the stage, far corner of the room).* Look at the brunch menu & there's some delicious shots available for $10! We've had quite a few rounds or the Jolly Rancher! Just a lil pucker & nothing too sweet! Queens will be strutting around with pitchers to refill any flute or glass of Mimosas, Champagne, and Bloody Mary's. Besides your brunch plate, a basket full of warm lil blueberry muffins are given. It was hard to decide between the cheeseburger or country fried steak. But, the country fried steak won & I can't complain. Perfect portions & can never go wrong with fried golden batter! The gravy wasn't slopped on... just perfect portions to smear with my steak, over easy eggs, & half slice of English muffin. Please, take of the staff! They work hard & it shows. read more

Just came to Lips for the first time to celebrate my birthday. From the purple exterior, lips bench, and the interior decor, this spot has it all! My friends and I came for the Sunday Brunch. They say seating starts at 1:30, but it did not. I am not sure if the previous show was running behind or what the situation was. Glad we got there at 1pm though, because it was packed!! The parking is pretty minimal, so we parked at the structure that is about a 15 minute walk downtown. If it wasn't such a hot day and we weren't all wearing heels, it wouldn't have been so bad. Once we got there, we got right in line and waited for nearly an hour in the blazing sun. It would have been nice to have some benches or even some water outside while we waited. The decor was the first thing I noticed inside and it is all you would dream of for a drag show. Absolutely incredible. Even the bathrooms are amazing!! My friends and I were sat in a corner table quite far from the stage which was somewhat disappointing. We were close to the front of the line, so I had hoped seating went in order, but apparently it did not. The food was a lot better than anticipated. But...I ordered the chicken club and asked if they could make it a BLT and they forgot the bacon. So, I got a lettuce and tomato sandwich. The service was not the best but many of the queens were also performing, so I have to imagine that is tough to pull off. They serve you before the show, so it felt like forever until the show actually started. The performances were pretty good, but not the best I've ever seen and also, was hard to see since we were so far away. I would have loved to see more of the queens up close. They do baskets for tipping in case the drag queens don't come near your section. Ultimately I had a great time and I'd say the atmosphere is the best part! I don't drink, and a big part of the show was centered around that, but that's somewhat expected. Would love to see more mocktails and fun options for the alcohol-free crowd! Everyone needs to come to Lips at least once!! Will be a very memorable day forever!! They also do special things for people celebrating too. I really liked that part as well. read more

Okay, this a "must do" experience. From the moment you get checked in at the door all the way until you leave --- was a fantastic experience. My friend and I had a blast enjoying bottomless mimosas (it is TRULY bottom less, there are drag queens who literally go around making sure you never see the bottom of your glass ) and the brunch was delicious. The entertainment was spot on and our host hilarious. Everyone was there to have a good time and I couldn't believe how kind all the queens and servers were. The service was 15/10. The atmosphere 10/10. My smile when I left was wide and my face hurt from laughing so much. Shout out to all the queens and their beautiful outfits. Shantay you stay! read more

I came here for Bitchy Bingo on a Wednesday night with 2 of my close friends visiting. The drag queens were amazing and beautiful but we were slightly disappointed. The energy of the crowd was a little low which was uncontrollable and it was a Wednesday night. We got there at 7 pm, sat for about an hour and had dinner served and drinks until the show started around 8 pm. No one really told us the night "agenda" so we just sat there waiting too. There is a snug parking lot which is great especially in north park!! The food was not good at all. I got the blackened tilapia and it looked like the tilapia was thrown in the microwave. The skin was soggy and rice pilaf was oily. My friends got the Marsala and both didn't enjoy their meals and barely ate. The drinks were either extremely sugary (hangover !!) or far too strong and the hard alcohol was flavored Smirnoff and Bacardi. Lastly, I have no problem tipping and understand you are encouraged to tip in drag shows considering that's where most of the money comes, they even come around exchanging $20 bills for $1's which is great since ATM machines charge extra but it felt like they were really pushing people to spend money to the point where it was too much. My friend said she had her own cash plus we exchanged $20 and the woman exchanging it said "just $20? You should do another $20." Overall glad I tried it out, definitely wish the crowd was more fun but don't think I'll be coming back. read more
What a fun evening! For the price, it's totally worth it for dinner and a show! The host for the night (Tuesday) was Paris and she was awesome! And even more surprising, the food was really good! We were celebrating for a bachelorette night and started our evening with drinks, which are decently priced and nice and strong! We got the hot wet _____ and Jell-O shots.. even ordering it was out of my comfort zone, but it was so good! Highly recommend! For food, we got the Drag Queen Sampler, which was a ton of food! Not going to lie.. probably some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had. The cheesy drag balls were a close second! I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which was delicious! It had a creamy pesto sauce and the portion was very good. My friends got the chicken Marsala, shrimp fajitas and bacon burger, all of which were amazing too! The meal also had dessert that was a chocolate cake/brownie with a chocolate whipped cream - not too shabby at all! For entertainment, make sure you bring some dollar bills for the performers! If not, they are able to trade larger bills for dollar which was really convenient! As I mentioned before, Paris was an awesome host! She roasted all of the tables and was hilarious! There were 3 other performers that all did an amazing job. Shout out to Armani for her high energy and crazy performance! Our bachelorette got a cute crown and was pulled onstage! This place definitely is the place to go for celebrations! I can't wait to go back! In case anyone is wondering: get there at least 10 minutes before doors open. The performers start out as your servers and don't perform until after the meal. It's about a 3 hour experience, at least on the Tuesday night that we went. read more
Lots of fun, laughter and entertainment. This was a must for our mom's trip in San Diego. Unlimited mimosas or Bloody Mary's and plenty of meals to choose from. My friend and I ended up sharing their salad and bacon cheeseburger and fries. So glad we shared, because they were generous with their portions. Great customer service from the moment we walked inside to being seated. Lolita did an amazing job with our table and the rest of the staff, too. They made sure we were well taken care of. Food was mediocre There was a funny smell Mimosas were not great. You put a glass that's sitting there and they come around with pitchers to refill. So just missing that fresh yumminess Host was so good :) Entertainers were great Not bad read more
OMG! I am in drag queen heaven!! These queens definitely SERVE... yassssss honey! This place was so much fun to celebrate my daughters birthday. The queens were super friendly and displayed exceptional customer service. They definitely know how to accommodate large parties. Great variety of food and drinks to choose from. Everything is moderately priced for the entertainment you receive with your dinner (salad to start and dessert to finish). Now the fun part. The performance!!!! These queens put in work! Absolutely hilarious and entertaining. Please bring cash and bless these babes, they definitely work for it. After the show they will allow you to go on stage and take a few pics with the queens. All together the experience was about over an hour and worth the hype and price. I can't wait to come back. Now SASH SHAY AWAY. read more

This was so much fun! It's been years since I went to Lips. I could not believe what it's grown into. The ladies are amazing, the staff is super delightful, and the food was fast and good. Nothing can beat that show though! Top tier performances, super interactive, and just a fun place to celebrate at. They were so giving when it came to our birthday/bachelorette celebrations. I can also imagine coming for a sparkly little date night too. The host was really funny and interactive too. Love love love it! read more

We came here to celebrate! And boy did we CELEBRATE... for my sister's special day! Reservations are easy just call leave a message and they will call you back. They have times in between the day they aren't open, but the dinner and weekend brunch times are clear; so make sure you check the website and Reserve for the day, time and event you choose. We paid 32.95 per person for a 3 course meal for Wednesday's Bitchy Bingo! There is a parking lot so no need to worry about parking on the streets of El Cajon Blvd. Doors open at 645pm...you check in and can grab a drink at the Bar! The menu drink names are hilarious! (See photos of drink list). The main entree has options for chicken, steak, vegan, fish so don't worry! Deserts were cheese cakes of different flavors, not just plain boring cheesecake (See photo). Performance was so up beat and the glam girls were so fabulous at lip syncing and dancing! Bust out your dollar bills and let it rain....its going to be a great time! Service was good, no issues. My daughter wanted to see a drag show for her 16th birthday and I was very happy to see that 16 year olds could attend the brunch shows on Saturdays. We had a BLAST!! The show was amazing, the food was great and the birthday package (cupcake, crown and picture) was worth the small ($12.00) extra price. Thank you Lips and Queens for making my daughters 16th birthday the BEST!! read more
Ladies Night out and birthday celebrations. I hadn't been in like 10years, and the rest of the girls hadn't been at all. We were 8 so they gave us a VIP stage seating which was the best seat in the house. I will start with why I only gave a 3 for our night, even though some good things happened too. First of all they say to be there at 530, the line was long but we got checked in, then you wait a line for the bar to get a cocktail. Small cups but strong drink. You get seated. Our waitress Tiffany was a queen, literally and was nice but never came back to check on us. The money or tipping was talked about so much, but I get it's a performance. I didn't like waiting around for almost 90 minutes for nothing...Some side shows in the audience, and the show finally started at 720, and ended at 820. there was a lot of waiting for food and entertainment for 2 hours for nothing. Another crazy thing...told waitress we had bday celebrations, they got paper crowns, a picture on stage with performer, the printed picture later, and a cupcake with a candle. Receipt came... $12/each cupcake! we didn't need that... and it was a dry pound cake not worth $12. Everywhere gives you free bday dessert except this place!!!! Now, the show itself was very entertaining. Good celebrity options, music, lively, energetic. Our stage seating was awesome for front row Performance viewing. The drinks were great and strong as mentioned, one was enough. Food was good for the price you pay for 3 courses, especially in this inflation period. Good food options as well. The option for pictures was good, our stage VIP seating was great. But 3 stars goes to most of the waiting around, the money talk, and the bday charges. read more

If you're reading this book the show NOW! WOW WOW WOW! I came here for my birthday and my friends and I had the time of our lives. It was an experience we will never forget for the rest of our lives. We got there right before the show started with enough time to get drinks and order our food. I definitely recommend to get there EARLY. We purchased everything we could during the show lol. Please bring cash, I had no idea about this detail and if I had more cash I would have gotten more 1s. The food was also really good, all of my friends enjoyed their food as well. I had the spaghetti, it wasn't bad at all. A few things to note: 1. If you are ordering shots make sure to let them know which shelf alcohol you want. We ordered 2 rounds of shots one round was bottom tequila (we didn't need to ask) and the other was top shelf (we would not have ordered a top shelf shot). 2. If you are celebrating and don't want to pay for the specific package don't let them know you are celebrating. I went for my birthday and we weren't planning on paying more for the meal; however, we told our server we were celebrating my birthday and we were charged extra (without us knowing ahead of time) for the dessert, crown, and shout out. Although the above were a bummer, I will 100% be back & avoiding the extra charges. read more

No, there is a lot of adult themes here and probably not appropriate for kids in general. There are other drag performances that are age appropriate.
How early should we arrive for the 6:30pm Friday show (2 guests)?

As of two weeks ago when I visited, all performers/waitresses, bartenders and employees wore masks and or Face shield. Customers are asked to wear their mask as they come in but can take off to eat and drink. My party and myself felt completely safe.
Can dressy shorts be worn? Or is it a strict dress code?
They have a dress code clearly stated on their website, so don't wear shorts! Remember your ID too.
