This place is top-tier for fun, entertainment, divas & the food is really good too! We went to the Gospel brunch (later seating, usually at 130pm vs the 930am seating) and had a blast! There's plenty of parking in their little corner of El Cajon Blvd. You have to call to make rez & it's highly recommended so they have an accurate head count. It's about ~$43 a person, which comes with an entree from a pre-fixed menu & UNLIMITED mimosas, bloody marys & champagne. That price point is so great! As mentioned, the food was really good too. Had the chicken & waffles and them waffles were elite! Came with about 4-5 generous pieces of breaded chicken tenders. They do start you off with some homemade muffins and everyone at the table loved those. There are other drinks that you can purchase besides the ones that come with the packages. The cocktails were all like ~$14 each. The place is actually pretty small, but they arrange the tables well so you don't recognize how packed it gets. Have your dollar bills ready cause the performers will be coming around to collect! They did such an awesome job I was happy, willing and ready to spend a lil sum sum. Don't worry, if you didn't come with ones, they have a money changer going around. The only thing I'd change is how long they keep the food on the table. I get it, they want everyone's undivided attention for the show, but I wanted to snack whilst getting entertained and drinking... Maybe provide chips, popcorn or something while the show's on? came here for the first time for Sunday brunch with my family for my cousin's 21st birthday. The food was okay, but you're really there for the entertainment. The brunch came with bottomless mimosas and they continuously walked around making sure your glass was never empty. I made the mistake with only bringing 10 one dollar bills because you'll be tipping throughout the show so bring a lot! It's pretty loud in there so I would recommend if you're not used to that, bring some ear plugs. read more

WHAT A GOOD TIME! Went here with a group of my gals for our best friend's 33rd birthday, and what an absolute FUN time for all of us on a Wednesday night! The host was amazing, our servers were amazing, the entire show was... AMAZING. And these queens came to serve - literally and figuratively. I love that our host went over the rules and what to expect out of our experience because it made it that much more comfortable and enjoyable. It also happen to be Disney themed this night, and a Bingo night since it was Wednesday. I do believe that Lips does reservation only and I recommend that right off the bat, because it seems to always be a full house. We just so happened to get the VIP booth which was a great surprise in and of itself. We also brought in a birthday cake for our gal, which the manager graciously took from my hands and brought it out later in the night with candles, ready for her to blow out! They go above and beyond here, I tell ya! Even for the food - usually, I would think (and understand) that the food would be subpar as so much work goes into everything else. But my friends and myself really enjoyed what we had! We all had house salads, which were actually so good and fresh, especially for a salad. I personally had the eggplant parmesan, and the plate was so delicious and piping hot, I actually couldn't finish my plate. I was stuffed by the end of it. It did take quite a bit of time for us to get our food... (I honestly think it was possibly forgotten and then remembered, only because other tables were already starting to receive their desserts by the time we got our entrees) - but it didn't take too much away from the experience as a whole. We also really liked the assorted desserts as far as having a red velvet cake, cheesecake, and some kind of key lime cheesecake. Now for the drinks - they are STRONG. So, I personally opted for getting shots all night as I knew I had to account for work early the next morning. I really loved the white gummy bear shot, and I had a bit of my friend's jolly rancher shot which was yummy and strong as well. The show itself, is most definitely not PG13 - so if you're second guessing coming to this place based on that alone, try a different one. One thing that you never expect at large venue that is serving this many people is unbelievable and spectacular food. I ordered the 12oz Top Sirlion,(med/rare). Garlic mashed potatoes, green beans. The steak was PERFECT! I have never felt like tipping the Chef but I did. We had plenty time to eat and enjoy our dinner before the show. My sides hurt from laughing so hard. My sister took me on Saturday to my first Drag Show at Lips. I have mixed feelings about this place. I may be wrong or head on about some of the things that happened as this is my first time experience. Pros Got seated quickly Bartenders and drinks are really good The food was good, but the salad dressing was excellent. Most of the entertainers were friendly and talented. (Not sure if all clubs also use them as order takers) The MC was so funny and talented. Cons Our order taker, Gina, wasn't that good. We asked for an appetizer and a birthday package and did not get either. We had to get up and get our own drinks at the bar. Had to ask the other staff for water and my birthday cupcake. You get no choice with the desserts, and the Tres Leche cake was not to my liking. Also, I'm not sure if other clubs push giving the entertainers one dollar bills why they are performing. While all the acts were good, most of the performances were on the floor going in between the customers and not on the stage. And all the acts were grabbing money or having it put on them. So, take this for what it is worth. Kinda sad my birthday was not as good as I would have hoped for. Valentine's Day at Lips was the perfect mid-week getaway for me and my dream date, Chun P! Quick-witted Armani kept the quips coming and had us all laughing! The ladies were especially gorgeous for V-day, and we were delighted lovely Naomi was our server. Being a Wednesday, we even got to play a round of Bitchy Bingo, and the gals closed the night with a Moulin Rouge Lady Marmalade performance. I am surprised we made it out the door without Chun P. running away with Chanel, who looked so glamorous in her gold bunny ears! The food was much better than my last visit pre-pandemic. Mai Tais made for a fun start, followed by champagne. I enjoyed the mushroom ravioli appetizer, salmon in croute and tiramisu cheesecake, which is normally not my thing. Chun P. and I were pretty full and had them put one cheesecake slice in a to-go box, which was perfect the next day! I've been wanting to come here ever since I moved to San Diego and I finally got the chance for my birthday. Such an incredibly fun experience! I love how they have different themes/events throughout the week to change things up. And I couldn't stop staring at the decor! I loved the legs on the walls and how they turned the pillars into palm trees. They really did an amazing job using all the space available to them. The only thing I didn't like was the tip buckets on the table. It is waaayyyy more fun to throw it all over the place rather than neatly put it into a bucket. I like how they have a main stage, but the queens still used the whole room for their performances. They were interactive with the audience and it was fun being a part of it. All three queens performed multiple times and switched it up each time. I loved the costume changes, the different music, the stunts and everything they did. They were separate, but cohesive and it didn't seem messy at all. The main hostess promised the audience that if we hit any of the queens in the face with a dollar we would get a free shot. I don't know how with my terrible aim, but I accidentally did just that. She was true to her word and got me a tequila shot. It wasn't necessary as I was happy enjoying myself, but it's always nice when they do as they say and aren't making things up just for smiles, laughs and tips. I have two complaints: 1. We were charged for the birthday special even though I didn't get a cupcake or crown. I did get a printed picture, but with only 1 queen while everyone else got either 2 or 3 queens with theirs. Even if I did get the cupcake, it wouldn't have been worth the $12 they charge. 2. The food. I got the Blackened Salmon, which was a bit bland, but not inedible. I was more disappointed by the portions because the man sitting next to me got a piece of salmon that was twice the size of mine. I had already finished my meal by this point, but I felt jipped when I saw his plate arrive. They need to ensure their portion sizes are more equal from plate to plate. Been here for drag brunch a couple of times now and it never disappoints! It is entertaining from beginning to end. The queens are stunning, campy, & hilarious. The food is delicious. Other amusement parks could take some tips. Seating was perfectly spaced out so you didn't feel on top of each other. The ambience was fabulous and each guest was greeted personally. The talent was top notch and played with the audience members. Before I blinked three hours was gone I was full from very well made and seasoned huevos rancheros. Highly recommended! We came here on 10/21/23 for my friend's birthday wig party theme, and the group was around 20 guests. It was my first time watching a drag show, and it was spectacular! I lost my voice screaming & laughing the whole night. Lips definitely delivered their performances to the max, and their food was bomb! They got the crowd dancing and vibing the whole night. Perfect for a girl's night out or any occasions. I ordered the salmon with cabbage and rice that came with the $43.95 show package. It also came with salad, and 3 desserts (2 carrot cakes and 1 cake- I don't know the name) to be shared with your party. They gave us multiple plates of these desserts on the table since we're a large group. Each tasted great, and the servings were huge. My friend got the penne a la vodka with chicken. If you have a big appetite, this one's for you. Additional: I got the hot wet p*ssy drink for $12.50 and the test tube shot with a blinking light ring for $7. FYI, these are not included in the package. Tip for large groups: Pay early for your additional orders, especially for drinks. I didn't know the majority of the guests, and some refused to pay when the bill arrived. I was quick to get my pen and wrote my orders on the back of the receipt with the last 4 of my credit card# and gave it to the server/performer. This made it easier for me & the server. read more

I came here on Sunday for the gospel brunch for a bachelorette. I've never gone to a drag brunch, but thought the experience was great. It wasn't really my scene, but I enjoyed it still. The performers were great and really funny. I was surprised how much they came around to get tips, it was all fun, but a bit funny how much they came by for tips. They pulled a few males in the audience come up take off their shirts and go collect more tips. We had two people in are party that were pulled up, so that was kind of fun. And they had the people celebrating birthdays and bachelorettes come up for picture. And had a special shot for the bachelorettes. I thought the shot was a bit much, but maybe I am a bit conservative. For brunch I had the chicken fried steak and it was super salty, it didn't taste bad but really wasn't great. My over easy eggs were also over hard with one yolk even missing from my egg. The mimosas and bloody Mary's were limitless, I don't drink, but it seems like they kept the glasses filled. Reservations are a must! We celebrated one of the girlies birthday for Gospel Brunch Sunday. We opted for the 1:30PM show and showed up before then to allow for parking. There is a parking lot, but that one gets filled up quickly. We didn't get in the venue until closer to 2:30PM. I never figured out why or if this is a common thing for these shows since it was all our first time, but if you're doing a show this late I would recommend eating something beforehand! One of the performers even said "Damn girl you are HUNGRY" as I was inhaling down my food!! The Gospel Brunch includes 1 entree and unlimited mimosas/ Bloody Mary drinks. They were on it with refills and getting our group in the back what we needed. My entree of choice was the Country Fried Steak. It was delicious and came with two eggs and half a English muffin. As for the show itself, the ladies were giving us everything! I couldn't stop laughing and was fully entertained. Everyone was so hardworking and they truly deserved those tips. If you are celebrating a birthday or special event, they really give you your moment. As another Yelp mentioned, birthday treats are not complimentary and it is a whopping $12 for a cupcake without frosting. Lips was such a fun experience and is just a welcoming space overall. We finished the show at around 5PM, which to be honest is pretty late and something I would only do once. This was such a TREAT! We came to celebrate my friends last night before her move. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time because the place gets packed. Lots of Bachelorette parties.. birthdays.. girls nights. We were brought in in our groups and were escorted to our table. The guy and the front recommended getting drinks at the bar first since the line would get long. I ordered "pick the b**** up off the floor" and it was delicious! We got to the table and slowly the the food started to come out. We only had to choose our main entree. I was surprised the food was actually very good! I had called on 5/30/26 around 5:30pm to inquire about making a reservation for the drag brunch for a party of 10 to celebrate a birthday. The call was going well and we were continuing with booking the reservation. The reservationist informed me that to secure the reservation there needed to be a card on file and $10 deposit per person, which I had no issue with. However, I told the reservationist I would call back when I was ready to confirm the reservation because I needed to confirm with my friend first. The reservationist asked with a rude tone, "Why do you need to confirm with your friend?" I explained that I needed to ensure our party size was accurate so that we pay the correct deposit. The reservationist started talking down on me and explaining why there is a need for a deposit. I informed again that I had no issue with the deposit, that I just needed to make sure that this reservation was going to work for our party. The reservationist scoffed at me and told me "Okay, you call back when you've confirmed with your friend, I'm going back to seating tables." I said "Okay thank you" and they hung up without another word. Not sure what I did to deserve this type of treatment as a potential paying customer, considering my request to call back after confirming my party was not unreasonable. It completely killed the vibes for my party and I so we planned our day elsewhere. We were bummed because we were really excited to come here and experience the show but we would not want to risk our friend having a bad birthday experience due to terrible service. I read the negative reviews here after that phone call as well and the bad experiences other people have had here are really bad. Really disappointing. read more

Overall, we had a fun experience at Lips. A nice outing for a girls night out, bachelorette party, or birthday party. It's $50 per person which includes the meal. Drinks are an additional $7-14 each. A mandatory 20% gratuity is added into the bill. Total bill will likely come out to $100 per person. What I liked: - nicely air conditioned in the summer months, recommend bringing a light jacket - decent food and generous portions (our food was hot and fresh) - private parking lot for customers but the spots are narrow - the queens were entertaining and performed to some epic music choices Some things that may turn people off: - they are aggressive about you having cash ready to "tip" the queens as they are performing. There is a lot of throwing dollar bills in the air or shoving it in their dresses and pants during the show. If you don't have any, they come around with stacks of dollar bills offering to exchange your cash or directing you to their ATM inside the venue. - they charge for everything (birthday crowns, birthday wishes on stage, birthday cupcake, birthday shot, etc), nothing is included with your admission price so be aware. They don't advertise the prices so make sure you ask in advance. - the dessert on our night was various cheesecakes. We noticed some tables got 3 flavors and others got only 2. When I asked why we didn't get 3, the manager got sassy and said "they are randomly cut and plated". If everyone's paying the same price, I think it's only fair we all get the same amount of dessert. - the music during dinner is REALLY loud, like can't talk to the person next to you loud. It's good music but they should tone it down during dinner so we can converse with our party. read more

We had a bunch of us in town for an event and had a little free time before we flew out the next day so we decided to go see a drag show and Lips was recommended to us by someone local. We had a fun time, the food is included in your ticket price and is a really good deal for what you get. The tickets are a great price compared to a lot of shows I have been to near my area (Seattle area.) I even got to keep my pink cup!
