Delicious Boba tea with lots lots of flavors to choose from. Friendly staff. Kids' favorite treat.

I have been here a handful of times but it's my first time writing a review. Several years back, I decide to just check out of this cafe out of random. Once inside, I saw there menu and became a fan of it. I was introduced to bubble tea drinks a long time ago when I went to the Pan Asian restaurant, Joy Yees. I was amazed by their selection and variety and after trying a few of those drinks, I became a big fan of it. So after seeing that Liquid Fusion offered such drinks, naturally, I had to try theirs. I have only had their fruit freeze with tapioca drinks. I have yet to try other items on their menu. The reason being is that I always desire that type of drink over the other beverages they have to offer that I never think of the other items. Also, I don't drink these fruit freezes over the winter months so when it gets warm, I am automatically (sort of) drawn towards these drinks. These fruit freezes and on some occasions the Frappuccinos from Starbucks are my favorite drinks to have during warm weather months. The prices are reasonable and the service is fine. This place is so so good! They have a large menu of items to choose from but my favorite section is the fruit freeze section. They have a long list of fresh fruit you can choose from to create the perfect frozen yet fresh combination. I ordered a strawberry coconut with tapioca for myself and a mango pineapple for a friend. I think they should rename it Liquid Con-Fusion. Liquid Fusion has a few issues. The milk tea is okay but the fruit smoothies are better. I recommend blending strawberry and mango. It works really well and it's not too sweet. The bathrooms are nice and the menu is extensive and elaborate if not completely authentic. The problem Lies when you come in 19 minutes before closing time and get treated as if you just assassinated an entire family. There's really no need to be so angry. Slamming the bubble tea down on the counter. Sighing while I get my money out. A bunch more people came in after me and she treated them the same. At three minutes before midnight the guy started yelling that they're closed. Prices are nice here and smoothies are pretty good but service could definitely improve. The products are between 4 and 5. The service is the reason it gets 3. Sorry, I have a short Fuse-ion. Time to see how many Fuse... I mean views... this gets, and move on to the next. read more

For an after dinner drink, we decided to get boba. The roommate's cousin and I both walked into Liquid Fusion Cafe on Monday, December 4th around 7:30pm. I'm a tea purist, so I normally just get straight tea with toppings. Their menu involves a lot of flavored drinks, so I opted for something from their hot menu, but iced. Ordered an Earl Grey: flavored black tea with Tapioca and Coffee jelly. Not sure how much my drink was, but I believe it was around $3. The tea itself was very weak. Not strong at all. And the toppings were sparse. I was wishing there was more boba and coffee jelly. I was also missing grass jelly as they don't offer it here. Back home in San Francisco, it's normally always as option. Maybe I'm a boba snob, but I was at least expecting their straight tea to be okay. (Maybe it didn't steep long enough? They made it fairly quickly.) One of the most disappointing boba teas I've had in a while. read more

Random trip for dessert after a quality dinner. First off, nice little place and crowded for the time. Fruit bingsu was good. Fruit waffle was good. Now the most important part, the bathroom. Bathroom is a 3 plunger contender, however, it was only worth 1 plunger. It was disgusting. Toilet not flushed, broken floor tile, garbage can with poop around the edges, spare toilet paper on the soap dispenser, and the light switch is taped to the wall. Small little cafe that serves a lot of drinks. Also has a small parking lot. It's kinda hidden behind HMart. There's lots of varieties of drinks you can choose from. I got the taro milk tea. I was a lil disappointed that I couldn't control the amount of sweetness - I personally don't like my milk teas super sweet. The taro milk tea is super sweet but drinkable. If I find myself in the area then I'll probably stop by to try some of the other flavors. read more

This was always my favorite korean bingsoo (korean shaved ice dessert with red beans, fruits, and ice cream) place for many years. Went again recently and kind of disappointed, bingsoo did not taste the same. I know this place is popular because the place is always packed with people getting bubble teas. Bubble teas does taste great here. I miss the original korean owner who always worked in the front. Maybe that hes gone, the bingsoo doesnt taste the same. Best Bubble Tea Place I've ever been to! I always get the Pineapple Coconut bubble tea with tapioca balls. I think their tapioca is delicious too! They have frequent buyer program which is fun! I think after you buy 10 you get the 11th free! Or something along those lines. The decor is fun and it's open late! Can't go wrong with that! The location is not ideal and it's hard to find a spot on a hot summer night. Came here after eating kbbq and boy was it busy for a Tuesday night. It was after 10 pm and the line was already almost put the door. There was only one person working and he did his best to serve everyone. Maybe it was better if he had other workers available to help him ease the service a bit faster. Pretty small cafe with limited seatings but it's very cozy. We had the fruit bingso and some bubble tea. It was pretty good for a late night snack. For the fruit bingo, the shredded ice that was use was not just plain ice it had some flavoring in it unlike other bingso I've ever had before which was great. The toppings on top was just enough. I guess it was a really busy night for them because then my bingso was serve on styrofoam. Why only four star and not five? This place is great but the service needs more work. While my friend was ordering, he just wanted to make sure that he got all his order and order correctly and the cashier was giving him attitude. Speaking in a loud tone he said, 'Yeah, I got it!' My friend just wanted to make sure. And yes I guess we came pretty late but they way he dismiss everyone was very inappropriate. He just yelled 'We close, everyone get out.' They have a quite big selection for drinks. They have coffee, fruit blends/smoothies, bubble tea, milk teas, food, etc. The cafe itself is located in a small parking lot behind HMart. I would definitely miss it if i didn't have GPS. Parking spots are pretty limited, as it's shared with other stores in the plaza. My personal favorite is chocolate banana with tapioca! it's really good! Another popular one is strawberry. I haven't had that one myself but people rave about it! I have been going to Liquid Fusion since the early 2000's and it has stayed consistent for that long! I'm sorry my review has been long over due lol. I normally order a mango peach bubble tea with lychee jelly. I've also tried all milk teas and the taro slush. I think the many times I've had the taro slush it was way over powdered. Might need to suggest to go lighter on it otherwise it's way too sweet. I've also tried the bingsoos and they have been good as well. Normally when I go visit I prefer the bubble teas. It is a decent place to go hangout with friends. On a typical Friday and Saturday night it is pretty packed. If you're planning to grab a table must go before 9pm. There's limited parking in the front but more on the other side of the plaza. read more

Have to give it up, there cafe is pretty great. From what I hear lots of people come here to hang. It's opened late so prob a teenage late night hot spot. Came here with my 12year old and we got a carrot/orange fruit freeze with tapioca balls and a coconut/lycee fruit freeze with tapioca balls... both were fabulous. I love how you can combine 2 flavors and they blend the drinks. I felt slightly healthier drinking it with carrot juice and it was still very sweet! Amazing, spot on bubble tea every time. The smell that hits you when you step in makes the entire experience even better. I almost always get the Thai Tea Bubble Tea or a Lychee or Mango bubble tea. Their sizes are great, they have cute bags to take 2 cups to go, and their tapioca to slush portion is great! The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because their service could be better. Their staff is not consistent. Sometimes I need to order extra jelly or extra tapioca in my drinks because they all serve different amounts. The male manager who was in charge when I came during a random weekday during the day time was not pleasant. I wish the staff and management here were better capable of handling the high customer volume they clearly get (judging by their line, I'm in it as I type now). A very solid find in the suburbs. Boba and bingsu are always a good find when you don't live near Chinatown. I only had the boba when I went, but it was pretty solid. I got the house tea and it was tasty without being too sweet. The hint of cocoa makes their tea pretty unique. Boba was average, but overall I'm still satisfied. Only the best bubble tea place EVER. I compare all bubble tea to this place, as it was my first boba place and my favorite. Everything is amazing. I loved this place and then worked there briefly. Fresh fruit is used for all the smoothies. No stupid fake powders. They do use a sugar solution for the fruit smoothies, but that is not the sole flavoring. I highly recommend the fruit freezes, but my favorite will always be the white chocolate freeze. Free wi-fi (Someone mentioned there are no outlets...there are, look below your seat, there are tons along the wall)! The only thing that sucks is the parking and location. Easy to miss and the parking lot is tiny, but if you have trouble, you can park in the grocery and liquor store next door. The place is also very crowded. Lots of students from the Northbrook and Glenview area. They're open till midnight or later, which makes it quite the hangout spot for high schoolers. read more

It's sad how many times I've driven the ~50minute round trip or taken a 15+ minute detour just to come here for drinks since my first visit here a little over a month ago, especially when I have several options much closer to me. Those minutes and gas really add up! So I'm adding a star. (for consistency of quality) The freezes taste so irresistibly refreshing! I can count on every trip I take to be preeetty worth it. I usually take them to go and it'll be gone within the drive back. EXTRA ICE is key. They've been understanding about it, and it's perfect as long as I ask. As I said, I like it to have a thicker consistency, not a "freeze" that melts as soon as I stick a straw in it - that seems to be their default, so ask every time. Watermelon lychee, I've been staying with that every time, and it's a reliable choice. Bf has been more adventurous. Everything we tried tasted very real, as in not artificial tasting at all. Real fruits. I don't know if they actually add more sugar to their drinks, because the once his drink (mango peach) didn't taste too great was because it wasn't sweet at all, and all you could taste was tart unripe mango :( I'm not picky very about the texture or taste of the tapioca though so... Prices have risen since the first time I have come here, but this remains one of the better places for bubble tea in the suburbs. Their most recent update to the place gives more seating with a table and chairs replacing the couches that used to be in the corner and flat screen menus behind the counter. A large bubble tea now will run you $4.95, but it is delicious so I can't resist. Parking can be a pain, but I can usually find parking in the back if there isn't any right in front. Also, seating is limited, and kids/teenagers like to hang out here. So you might either have to wait around for a bit for seats to open up or take your drinks to go. This place has earned my stamp of BBT in the Chicago burbs. Even though they don't specifically call it "bubble tea" but rather the FuuuuuuuSION tea. I spent a good minute staring frustratedly at the menu for quite awhile to figure out where the heck the drink with tapioca balls were. I tried the House Fusion Tea which according to the elegant description on the menu is "made with quality black tea fused with a hint of cocoa." I had no idea there was cocoa, but the thing was delicious! The tapioca balls had the perfect sQuish as well. This tea is great! I'll have another!!! Before i start hoot and hollerin' of how Liquid Fusion Cafe (LFC ) is one of my favorite smoothie/coffee joints ever, i want to address one thing first! *The most common complaint that I've read from reviewers is that this place is hard to find. I'm going to agree with this statement because it's a small establishment that's connected to an even smaller lot, and it's nudged between several other businesses down the long and winding milwaukee rd. The trick I used to successfully find this place each time back when i was a LFC newbie was to simply look for the Sybaris. The Sybaris (aka bang hotel) is right across the street from here. It's got a large glaring sign attached to the front which makes this the perfect landmark to navigate you towards your destination. If you've passed it, you've gone too far. Since the two are adjacent to one another, i officially dub liquid fusion to be sexy by association* The decor is straight out of an ikea catalogue. Super trendy, colorful, lots of couches, chairs, cool lamps that look like ruffled daffodils, a great place for groups. The drink list is endless and surpasses any other drink place i've been to including starbucks and caribou. Many teas, coffees, lattes(mostly illy products) smoothies, decaf, no caff, you name it, they've got it. There's also a display case with desserts, and they have fruit cups and hot dogs lol. Regarding smoothies, there are many fruit combinations that one can choose from including exotic flavors such as lychee, honey dew, red bean, papaya, etc...Today i ordered a banana mango fruit freeze (aka smoothie) and it cost me $4. My smoothie was delicious and it was a great refreshing treat especially since it was hot as all balls today. Speaking of balls, tapioca balls! (which i am generally not a fan of because they remind me of slimy mid-cold boogers) I had some in my drink today and they were tolerable. More compact, less mushy than most places, but specify if you don't want them in there because i forgot to mention that today and they put them in there anyway. Lastly, I love the letter boards. Two blank sheets mounted on the counter provided with an array of colorful sharpie markers. Reading that board is hilarious, purely the doings of deviant teens with pervy imaginations. What I find even funnier is the small sign atop the board that says "WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CONTENT ON THE BOARD" Yeah, i doubt a business would relish in the advertisement of penis drawings and "call this number if you're a furry" . Free wi-fi, yo! It hasn't been that crowded when I've gone here, so it's a great place to study! Plus, since I currently cannot locate my iPod, I love that music is constantly playing (and it's top 40 or r&b, too! perfection.). It helps me concentrate! I tried the taro bubble tea and the house bubble tea. I LOVE taro, but, by far, the house bubble tea is my new favorite! It's $3 for the small bubble tea with tapioca. This place is open late, too - midnight on weekdays, 1am on weekends! FYI - I noticed some guys ordered the red bean bingsu and they were completely enjoying it. Yum. read more

I've been coming to Liquid Fusion since I was in the middle of high school. So that's nearly 8 years... Guess that's saying something! Liquid Fusion is hands down the best bubble tea joint in Illinois. Yes, better than Joy Yee's, better than Avalanche, better than Chill...I've yet to try Kung Fu Tea or Bee & Tea, but I've been to plenty of boba joints around LA and this is comparable, if not better. They have fruit freezes, specialty freezes, a plethora of tea, coffee freezes, waffles, bingsu, etc. I usually mix it up, but my favorites are strawberry dream (strawberry smoothie with a hint of creaminess) or any of their berry options. I believe I've tried all their fruit options...I recommend them all--even avocado and taro. Melon-ah is great too! Tastes like a melona bar. You have the option to opt out of tapioca (bubbles), but I always get them, sometimes I get extra tapioca or I even add lychee jelly! Mmmm My favorite tea is their iced house tea with tapioca. THE BOMB DOT COM. Delicious!!! Their coffee freezes like Heath or Mocha are yummy too, but I usually don't order them because they're powder based (I used to work at a cafe that used that brand). If you get a chance, you MUST MUST MUST try their fruit bingsu. If you've never had bingsu, it's basically shaved ice, misugaru, pat (red bean, if you want it), milk, fruit, condensed milk, ice cream and a bit of honey. I've tried most of the bingsu in the area and I prefer theirs. Love that they use misugaru, milk, condensed milk, and some honey. Really spectacular. Meant to share and worth the price. They also have a loyalty card that gives you 20% off (I think) after 10 purchases. I'd invested in that long, long ago cos I came so often haha. Another tip if you order a bubble tea, make sure you tip it over and shake it before you pierce the plastic seal with the straw. The bubbles get nicely incorporated and dispersed! read more

I was super excited to find out there was a drink/boba place near the H-Mart near the place I'm staying but was sadly let down by the lack of options here. The store itself is right behind the plaza that H-Mart is in so super convenient for me since I shop there and it's on my way home from work. It's super easy to pop around the store - you don't even have to repark. The first time I ordered, I got the large iced house tea with boba. The drink came out pretty quickly so I was pretty suspicious about whether it was made right there and then. However, when I came a second time, I asked if I could customize the sugar level but the employee working the register told me that it wasn't possible because all the milk teas are premade. That was honestly pretty disappointing since I almost always try to get half sugar or so since it's usually cloyingly sweet for me. This might also be ridiculous but if I'm paying for a drink, I kind of would like for it to be made for me instead of getting something premade. Anyways, the milk tea itself isn't bad, but I don't think I'll be coming back due to the lack of customization. read more

Great bubble tea place! One of the best I've been to in the Midwest, but I've only been to a few so that isn't saying too much. There weren't a whole lot of options for Milk Tea, but that could be due to the menu being organized and labeled a little differently than the San Francisco menus. The traditional milk teas were there though, with Jasmine, Taro, House, and Almond flavors (look at my photos of the menus). My dining partners got an iced mocha drink and a smoothie, and both were extremely happy with their cold drinks regardless of the subzero weather outside. A section of the vinyl booth seating was starting to show its age through cracking, which was a bit unfortunate. Additionally, most of the chairs were mismatched. However, it somewhat added to the theme of a small bubble tea shop. All in all, I'd say it was a good experience. I would definitely go back here and recommend this to others! read more

Very disappointed in the service here. Came here with 11 of my friends to try their Bingsu. The people there where really rude. The tall Asian guy there was very rude. Two of my friends were able to order but he stopped and told us that we wouldn't sell any more and his excuse was they ran out of ice. They have one job and how and you run out of ice? Yet we waited outside and he kept making drinks for other customers. This is very horrible customer service. We drove 30 minutes just to come to a place that "Ran out of ice" but some how was able to help the people that came after us. I do not recommend anyone come here... read more
