Came during the off season so it wasn't super busy and lots of parking. The inside was closed to the public so it was just window access and also they were only accepting cash at that time. The coffee was nothing to write home about- it tasted more like strongly flavored burnt water. The scone was nice and buttery/fluffy and the blueberry muffin was decent as well, but pretty sweet. This was a great experience ordering from Li's. I was scouring Yelp for coffee spots in Mystic. I got three lattes for the girls of the family. The girls need their coffee!! I wish I had time to come back to try some food. The window checkout is nice and the place is next to a dock of sorts, which is a nice change of pace to having to go physically into a store to buy some quick cups of Joe. It reminded me of the cafes I go to in my beach town. Was it the best latte I've ever had? Maybe not but they had tons of flavors! Picked up a couples breakfast items here while we were staying in Mystic. Got the almond croissant and the raspberry cheese croissant. The almond croissant didn't have a syringe almond taste but did have almonds in and on top. It was still tasty and flaky. Definitely something we would order again. The raspberry one was terrific. My family has lived in Mystic for more than 20 years, but we had not tried Lis before. A few years ago, I called and left a message inquiring about a wedding cake, but my call was never returned. More recently, someone suggested I try Lis, so I did (again). This time was more successful: I ordered a cake with an inscription on it. We went over the (very basic) inscription at least three times during the ordering process. $60+ for the cake. When I picked up the cake, however, the inscription was incorrect, so I asked that it be corrected. (Correcting in this case involved adding only a couple of punctuation marks. ) She seemed utterly put out by the request. You would have thought I had asked the cake be redone on the spot. In 18k gold. I was shocked - and put off - by the contemptuous attitude. I stood aside and patiently waited the five minutes it took to correct the order and then left. The cake itself was very good, but it was offset by the distain I was shown for having the temerity to ask that the cake please be what I ordered (and paid for!) - hence the lukewarm score. It occurred to me that had someone at Lis apologized for the error and inconvenience, maybe the effect of the attitude could have been mitigated. As it was, I was never in any danger of receiving an apology. Or a "thank you" for my business. read more

I definitely wished they open one on the west coast in So Cali. I was visiting the area and definitely hit the place at start of the morning. The chocolate filled crossaint paired up with Sumatra Mandheling coffee made a gloomy cloudy morning great! The small and quaint shop can possibly sit 4-5 along the counter facing outside through the windows. The place felt very homey and the staff was warm and welcoming. The price was was fairly. If I could give negative stars I would. First, they don't deliver wedding cakes!?! Then don't make wedding cakes. That's the stupidest thing I've heard from a bakery. Second, this was a three tier cake. You literally can not see the differentiation between the base layer and the second tier. The rosettes were not uniform or cleanly arranged. This literally looks like a five year old piped frosting on this cake...it was terrible and they should be embarrassed this left their shop. Finally, the buttercream was not buttercream. It was crisco and confectioners sugar. It was terrible, as well as, you could taste and smell that this case was sitting in a cooler for some time. It had absorbed some flavors from whatever was in the cooler with it. I don't recommend this bakery....for any occasion!! Stay away!! read more
