I asked for a bob blunt hair cut. She cut way too short, I knew she was cutting short but thought ok trust the process . I thought in my head to tell before hand to make sure the length comes below chin when it's dried but I assumed she would know to for my face. The picture has the girls hair under her chin. Mine is under my ear. And above the chin . I should have spoken up but now I have shorter hair. At least hair grows back but I'm very unhappy I didn't want to cry. I even told her she cut it too short at the end and she gave me zero response. So i said well I guess hair grows back so that's good and I left to pay. I'm devastated. I wish I took 'before' pictures because my color was grown out with split ends & what was left of the blonde had an unslightly yellow tint. Response to owner's comment: Very disappointed with the owner's response to say the least. It is inaccurate to say that I repeatedly asked for a discount. I asked only once and afterwards I had to give my reason: why an anticipated 3 -4 hour appointment took 7 hours! I've been to other salons in the city, had the same services as my daughter who has the same type of hair as me (long and thick) and it never took that long. Maybe I wasn't heard or misunderstood b/c it was very noisy and crowded in there that day with so many blow dryers going on at once. As a matter of fact, it didn't feel like Covid social distancing guidelines were even enforced. Needless to say the owner shouldn't be arguing with a customer. The tone should be apologetic for a bad experience and what can be done to make it right. An establishment, especially one in the service industry, should make you feel welcome but it was anything but that. It's a shame. If the response was a positive one, I would have re-considered making the next appointment. But, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I always have trouble finding a great salon. I'm pretty simple and just want a basic wash/cut (blow dry if necessary). It's hard to find a place with reasonable prices that's still a nice salon. They do (currently) offer a Groupon for wash/cut/dry all for $30 for new customers. I think the typical price is $39 for a women's cut so the Groupon is a great deal to get you in the door. I know I was pleased coming here. They have tons of staff here and it's run very efficiently. If you have an appointment there's minimal waiting and everyone offers great service. Michelle was my stylist and she did a fantastic job cutting my hair and blowing it out. Would definitely recommend this salon. read more

I have never gotten my hair colored here although I awlays come here for my blowouts. Yesterday I came for color because my last salon messed my hair up. Taylor did my hair and I have never been happier!! It looks amazing and I plan on coming to her from now on. She was so sweet. The process ended up taking longer than expected but she was so patient throughout the entire process. Another girl helped I believe her name is Vic and she was so nice as well. Taylor explained what she was doing to my hair which was nice, and they were able to take my hair which had ginger/red undertones and bring it to a cool blonde. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON. I got my haircut today using one of their Groupons for a $22 wash/cut/style. When I let the salon, I loved my hair and felt great... but then I took a closer look when I got home and was horrified. I asked for long layers, but on the right side of my head there is a HUGE chunk of hair on the center of my head that was cut WAY too short and now always hangs out no matter what I do or how I try to pin it back. I look like a five year old who got a hold of scissors for the first time. I am in shock and it was clearly a mistake (because the other side + back are normal) and I wish the stylist would've at least said something instead of waiting for me to notice it once I'd left. I've been coming here for 10 years now and I swear my experience just keeps getting better. What started out as a Groupon that paired me with Tina has turned into such a great friendship! There is no one I'd let color my hair other than Tina (made that mistake once at a different salon and it was awful). Over the course of the 10 years I've moved down the shore and still will drive the hour and fifteen minutes to Ridgewood to see her and get my hair done. However I was pleasantly surprised not only with the result that I had when I walked out, but by the whole experience. I may just have found my new go-to Salon and stylist. How's that for a girl who usually isn't loyal to Salons? I ordered the Groupon for full highlights, and was talked out of full highlights in favor of partial highlight with lowlights as well. The results look fantastic, and I'm even getting comments from people I usually don't talk to in the office. The haircut is great and the consultation was much appreciated. I recently came in to have my hair done to as I like to call the silver fox look and with a single process and full head of highlights like I wanted Ang gave me the exact color I wanted and I'd definitely say that she exceeded my expectations in this look. I love that she provided me with not only the look I wanted but provided me with the tools to maintain it as well. Um.. too bad the owner of this salon is rude sarcastic and abrasive. She needs to be sent for some customer service training. I will never go back in here again because of the sarcastic nasty tone she used with me. I went in on the wrong day, I never blamed anyone for my mistake. Instead of being nice she just wanted to make snide remarks I have never been treated so badly at a salon. I've never had a disagreement with a salon owner in my life. If you want to go to a salon where you feel the staff is overworked and stressed and overall have a chaotic and unpleasant experience, this is the place for you! My stylist Julia is wonderful. However, when I complained to the owner about the chaos that was happening around me (for example, the woman who washed my hair was roughly going through the motions and complaining to another staff member that she wanted to go home; there were no open stations for any clients to sit at, and us customers were all corralled around to different spots in the salon like we were a herd of cattle), I was told I was the one that was rude and to get out of her salon! I gladly did and won't be returning to. There is no excuse for that kind of attitude towards a customer. read more

Bad customer service. I didn't get a chance to try them out. I bought a Groupon based on a co-worker recommending a stylist at this salon. So I make the appt. show up and I had to show them photo ID for a haircut. This is like airport security! The receptionist says sorry, you were here already. I said "when"? He said 5 years ago and this Groupon is only for 1st time customers. I even offered to pay the difference to get my haircut, but he said no because Groupon doesn't pay them. Then why advertise on Groupon????? So this place is BAD. If you've tried them once, you are NEVER allowed to try them again? How can a business have such a bad customer service plan? What if I tried it this time and really liked the stylist? Overall, I chose to LOSE my Groupon dollars than to call the owner and ask her to take me as a customer. (which is what the receptionist suggested). I'll rack this up to a lesson learned. Never go here. read more

Absolutely love this salon! I've been seeing Heidi for quite some time now--she's incredibly talented! She always listens to the client before doing anything to make sure we are both on the same page with the color and cut. She gives great options for what would work best for your hair, but is never overbearing about it. I can't wait to schedule a follow-up balayage with Heidi after my great single process & cut! The salon itself is very clean and the stylists are all very attentive of their clients needs (whether it be a water or cup of coffee). Not to mention the parking lot right outside (SUPER convenient and a bit hard to come by in Ridgewood!) I have been trying this salon for hair coloring services with one of their apprentices (Ashley). She is very detail-oriented and welcoming, and listens well to any concerns. So far, I am very satisfied with the results I have gotten from the 3 times I have been here. I also like to observe the culture of the salon in general, and from what I see, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, they take care of the their clients efficiently but without rushing (they also seem to know them personally and remember them), and they sell a wide variety of good products. Kind of sad to be writing this review, but I was disappointed after I came in for a cut and conditioning treatment last week. I just called to set up an appointment and everything went smoothly, there wasn't much of a wait on Thursday morning right after they opened. The front reception ladies are all very sweet and kind. I was seated right away with my wash and cut and styling. The inside of the salon is also really nice and beautifully decorated / well lit. However, I asked for medium layers and after the first wash I noticed they are extremely choppy. It makes my wavy hair look very frizzy and the layers clearly stand out from each other. I wonder if she was an apprentice. I saw some other people getting color treatment and it looked great, maybe I just had an isolated experience.
