I was worried my compact car wouldn't be able to handle the snow but luckily faced no issues. We got the cabin with a private jacuzzi and MY GOSH- nothing beats the feeling of soaking in hot water on a covered patio, looking at the snowy trees. They created a beautiful ambiance with fairy lights outside the covered patio so the snowy view was still slightly visible at night. It was a serene stay with little to no disturbances. I highly recommend this cabin hotel, especially during the winter months. You won't regret it! read more

BEDBUGS (confirmed by their hired exterminator). That's the short version. If you're considering staying here, please read on: We had a one-night reservation and arrived very late. Wanting to enjoy the property, we stayed up -- made a fire, used the hot tub, ate some food -- and finally headed to bed way past our usual bedtime. When I moved a pillow to pull back the blankets, I spotted a bug. Assuming it was just a random outdoor bug (since we were in the woods), I snapped a quick photo to ID it online while my boyfriend tossed it outside. To my shock, results came back: bedbug. A second site confirmed it, and when I posted on Reddit, the unanimous responses were: "definitely a bedbug." We hadn't even gotten into bed yet, but our suitcases and clothes had been at the foot of the bed. Knowing this could be serious, we immediately looked online for next steps. We double-bagged everything, cleaned hard surfaces, and checked the mattress. Under the comforter, sheets, and two mattress covers, we found multiple bedbug casings along the mattress corners. Needless to say, we did not sleep. I messaged the hotel right away and at 8am the manager, Scott, arrived. At first, he was very apologetic and kind. He offered to put us in another hotel in town, cover laundry service, and said he was bringing in an exterminator right away. This reassured us -- temporarily. When the exterminator arrived, he looked at our photos and immediately said: "Yep, bedbug." About the casings, his words were: "Definitely a bedbug infestation." He used the word infestation. But after inspecting the cabin with the manager (where they spoke in hushed voices, which felt odd), their tone shifted. Suddenly, the story became: "We don't know if you brought them with you." That is simply not possible -- we never got into bed, and the casings were under multiple layers of bedding and mattress protectors. There's no way we introduced that kind of activity in just a few hours. From there, the offers were downgraded: no outside hotel, no outside laundry service, just another on-site cabin and laundry done there. We thanked them for the offer but didn't feel comfortable staying. This was supposed to be our final night of a two-week family road trip through the PNW, and we had originally planned to drive from Ashland back to the Bay Area after checkout. But since we hadn't slept, we were absolutely exhausted and knew that was no longer an option. As a family, we decided not to risk staying in another cabin (since bedding is likely laundered together). Instead, we scrambled to find alternate lodging. With very limited options in town, we ended up paying way too much for a musty old hotel and had to buy new clothes at Walmart, since ours were bagged up and stored in our car's rooftop cargo bin. The manager promised a refund. Almost three weeks later: nothing. When I followed up, I got excuses about booking through a third party. I only received money back because the booking site stepped in -- not because the hotel did the right thing. To be fair, we liked the cabin at first glance. But then we found the bedbugs. Bedbugs are a serious health and sanitation issue, and the way this was handled made everything worse: initial kindness and accountability, followed by denial, retracted promises, and a refund that only happened through the booking site. Even the exterminator they hired didn't seem particularly professional, which makes me question whether the problem was ever truly resolved. From what I've read, it's not an easy pest to eliminate, and based on what I saw, I'm not confident this was taken seriously. Bottom line: BEDBUGS and poor management response. Avoid this property until there is proof the infestation has been fully and professionally eliminated. Travelers deserve safe, clean accommodations -- and this was the opposite. read more

I was blown away with these secluded cabins. It was perfect for our family of four. The place is far away from Ashland so bring food and supplies. You have everything you need for a pleasant stay. The outdoor hot tub is incredible. Our stay was so private. Our kids slept in the loft and the we stayed downstairs. Every detail was crafted with consideration. Here is another gem hidden in the middle of Oregon. Now I may be biased but any place that has jetted hot tubs is my jam. At 6'3 it's hard for me to find a bathtub I fit in. This one had extra Hottest tub of all time!! I like it as hot as possible, I had to get out twice to cool down - unheard of. The room isn't huge, but it doesn't need to be. It's comfortable. And after my first 2 days on the PCT, my legs are trashed. I want to relax... I walked up to the restaurant and had myself a Huge burger and got a couple bottles of Coors light...... A bit of a mixed experience in the restaurant. We ate lunch there a few days ago. The staff were very friendly, and my wife and I split a ribeye sandwich, which was really excellent (though the fries were nearly cold when it arrived). We had a cherry pie that was also good. But I also ordered a chocolate milkshake, which was a mistake. They took forever to make it, at one point coming out to apologize for the delay saying they had to "make more chocolate". ???? That should have been a red flag. It finally came out and was a watery mess. I sipped it and it tasted like very watery chocolate milk. Then I took a pull through the straw and a chunk of something came up, you know- like ice cream that hadn't been fully chopped up by the blender. But it wasn't cold, it was warm, so it wasn't ice cream. The only things that go in a chocolate milkshake are milk, ice cream, and chocolate syrup or powder, and it wasn't any of those. At that point I gave up and just stuck to water. I didn't want to fuss at the staff (see the very friendly staff comment above), so I just finished and left, and got an excellent chocolate shake a little later at Zoey's down in Ashland. So I'd recommend this restaurant, but avoid getting a milkshake there at all costs. read more

I was traveling for work and spent a night in the lodge. It is run likean AirBnB, so be sure to read your email ahead of time. They forgot to include my door code, there is no cell service up there, so I had a moment of panic wondering how I was going to get in my room. Fortunately, I could read the email and use the wifi code to get service to find out what the door code was. Only other issues with staying in the lodge are the paper thin walls...you can hear EVERYTHING you prefer not to hear. The hot water is luke warm and be aware that a $25 cleaning fee gets tacked on to the room charge. read more

We are already planning our next trip here. It was a quick stay for us due to a wedding, and we want to head back for at least a week in the cabin. It had all the charm you'd want for a log cabin, in a setting you'd also want. We took our dog on a walk through the woods several times, and she has been moping around ever since we left. I swear she'd drive the car back if her legs could reach the pedals. :-) The cabin was clean and rustic, with the amenities of a tiny home (small grill, small fridge, small stove, etc.). There's no TV, which I appreciated since I wanted to unwind and disconnect from screens. I'd suggest bringing your own body wash - the one provided had an acrid odor, but the shampoo smelled nice. The hot tub takes at least 1-1.5 hours to fill. I made the mistake of not checking the hot tub temperature midway - I assumed it would have the normal lukewarm temperature from the faucet after an hour of filling it. Nope, it remains boiling hot and stays very warm even in the cool outdoors. The bed was harder than I'd hoped (felt like a cheap hotel bed) but the setting made up for it. Hopefully, they'll add memory foam toppers or get a higher end bed before our next visit. I don't relish the thought of waking up stiff, but at least there is your own private hot tub to help with aches. :-) The drive to and from this place was surreal. Like, how does this much beauty exist in nature? If you want a quiet nature getaway far from people (but close enough at the same time), rent one of these cabins. read more

Can't say enough good things-- We had to change our reservation 3 times due to wacky weather and us not being prepared with snow tires/chains, but the staff were all overly accommodating and helped us out immensely. We'd booked a cabin but ended up staying at the lodge and the room was very clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for the night. Jacuzzi tub was also a nice perk! This is my new favorite place! By far the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at and I cannot wait to go back. We stayed in the Mayfield Gardens cabin and the place was so clean and cozy. Awesome setup in the cabin, amazing shower, cute kitchen, and that tub outside the room with the comfy king size bed was absolutely amazing! My daughter and I arrived in Medford late on a Thursday night in the rain/fog. I have never been to the PNW before. I had no idea of the mountain I had to climb to get to the Green Springs Inn!! In the rain, in the dark and fog! It was a harrowing experience for this east coast girl but was SO worth it. We stayed in Lodge Room 7 and the code on the door worked just fine. It was PERFECT. Was it first class hotel accommodations? No. If I wanted that I would have stayed in Medford! It was a little rustic, a little dated, and a lot inviting! Anything else would have just felt wrong. It was homey and warm and after that long drive up the mountain in the dark it was exactly what we needed. We fell asleep in our pristinely clean room in beds that were so comfortable. The sun rose the next morning to reveal a gorgeous property and chickens running around. The next trip I made down the mountain was honestly one of the, if not THE, most gorgeous views I have ever seen. It served as a reminder that even on the darkest nights the sun will rise again and what beauty it revealed! WOW. I could not have picked a better location to enjoy the mountains. Our 5 days at the Green Springs Inn were quiet, peaceful and honestly perfect. We will be back! read more

For the first thing, the pictures on their website is very deceiving, the Green Spring Inn and Cabins look nothing like the beautiful pictures on the website. The rooms are very basic. It was difficult to figure out where to find your room, then the keypads are black, and try to figure out how to enter your code to enter your room, there are NO employees on sight, except one guy somewhere on the property, and the walls are literally paper thin, and the floors are also very thin. I had a bad night sleep. The restaurant is closedown, so you have to drive almost 5 miles to Hyatt Lake Resort to find mediocre food. I do not recommend staying at the Green Springs in. read more

Cabins seem very nice. Lodge not so much. Room is very nice but walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. Probably wouldn't have been so bad was we were actually here for a quick getaway for our 25 year anniversary. Trying to get some peace and quiet away from the kids. Could have done that for half the price back home. Definitely not getting any quiet in the lodge. Oh well. It was a beautiful drive! We must have come on an off day. It was raining/slushing pretty hard outside and the football game was on and it was a holiday weekend. But it just wasn't very...tasty. My husband and I really wanted to love this place. We were coming over the pass and talking about finding some food when out of nowhere this place appears. It looked so charming and inviting from the outside that we had to try it. They have a huge parking area that was covered with ice and big piles of snow. We navigated the truck and trailer through the maze and found a good spot at the end of the lot. We laughed our way through the parking lot, slipping and sliding on the ice and rushed into the building to dry ourselves from the rain. We were greeted by a friendly older gentleman who seated us at a nice table near the bar. The waitress was very attentive and knew about everything on the menu. She was quick with suggestions and also let me try one of the wines before ordering it. The soup was a Creamy Chicken Noodle that was good. Big chunks of chicken, nice flavor, but the noodles were lost as kind of a mush additive, which is okay by me as long as it tastes good, which it did. The salad had lots of toppings, but was sparse on the lettuce - another bonus considering I'm not a huge fan of lettuce, but really like black olives. The blue cheese dressing wasn't bad. My husband had the Agate Flats omelette with hash browns, toast, and jam. It was cold and he described the taste as "commercial." I had the French Dip. The au jus was my favorite part of the sandwich with really nice flavor, second only to the roll. The meat was tender, but had virtually no flavor. Not sure how that happened, but I finished half and couldn't eat the rest. It just didn't taste...anything. I tried their house Cabernet and Syrah. The Cab was good and a value for $5, but the Syrah was very heavy and I didn't even finish the tasting glass. Perfect place to spend a quiet weekend. Very clean, quiet, and private. The hot tub is wonderful, we used it first thing in the morning and ever evening. The wood burning stove is perfect for warming up and beautiful ambiance. We love the kitchen and use it for every meal and to even bake a pie or cookies. They have everything you need there in the kitchen and bathroom, even great Terry cloth bath robes . There is plenty of dry firewood, cards , games and music. The outdoor deck is lovely with screened in patio, furniture, beautiful views and a great working barbecuer . A favorite place for us to stay, either alone or with family and friends. Well I picked this on price, it was a great deal via Expedia. When driving out there I thought oh my god where am I going as it was further out from Ashland than I thought. Boy am I glad I went, it is old world and brilliant to boot. The folks are super nice, the food they cook is fresh and tasty and the room I had super clean and perfect. We took a trip on the fly - No reservations, just headed to Ashland from Sacramento to see what we could find. The drive was beautiful, up through Lake Shasta, blue snow capped mountains, and gorgeous peaks and valleys. When we travel, we go for places that offer an experience - historical, haunted, themed, or just plain awesome. Which Green Springs Inn is - It is AWESOME. We got one of the last rooms, number 8, on a chilly Saturday night. The Inn and it's cabins are located up a winding highway - there are two ways in, one less windy than the other. When you arrive, you check in at the restaurant in the front. We were greeted by smiling faces, the warm chatter of those enjoying the food spilling out the door as you come in. The restaurant has a homey feel - It is filled with decorations and lamps that remind you of your grandmothers house. Fresh baked home made cookies or giant cinnamon buns with icing as white as the brightest clouds on a clear day await you at the counter. There is a fully stocked cooler of various beers, fresh baked pies, and on this night, live music. A well heeled musician crooned Hendrix and Hallelujah from the corner, beautifully, and in a way that makes you think, where are we, and how it is so good? And it is good. Organic, well executed meals better than any you will get in Ashland, made for you by a true chef, and lover of food. Great beer and bloody Mary's. And the room. A king size bed with linens of such high quality, you thought you'd laid down in a cloud from heaven. Our room had a jacuzzi tub too, in which I floated while reading my murder mystery. Our little dog was welcome too, and he also immensely enjoyed himself. This is a great place to be, with a great experience created just for you, by great people. You should definitely go, and experience it for yourself. On the way back to Ashland, be sure you take the scenic route, past both the lakes, and between the trees. Oh man, this place is a gem! It's a beautiful drive to get here, I came from Ashland. My room in the main lodge was very clean and cozy. I picked one with a jacuzzi tub on the patio, and that was an experience of a lifetime! Within an hour of arriving, I saw multiple deer on the property. In the morning, I took a half hour stroll on the paths through the woods on the property. It was the most peaceful place to be. My only small complaints were that the bed is a little hard - I saw that in other reviews, and it was true. But the pillows and bedding were super nice and I slept just fine. The other issue I had was noise from my upstairs neighbors. Hardwood floors will do that, and having two small children above me meant more noise than usual. But that's hardly the Inn's fault! The food is very delicious and reasonably priced. There was a small snafu with my breakfast order being lost, and the staff were incredibly responsive and kind about it. Definitely impressive customer service! I plan to come back and stay even longer, hopefully in a cabin to experience the full tranquility of the surrounding woods. read more

New owners have taken over. They no doubt are having a tough time during the pandemic. I ordered a cheese burger with steak fries -- $13. A ciabatta bun was used. The meat was thick, tender and juicy, though a little salty. Lettuce, cheese, and a slice of tomato were in the sandwich while two thin slices of pickle were on the side. The fries were thin but a few different thick fries were mixed in. The later could be classed as steak fries. They were all oily and very salty. read more

The amazing restaurant, Coco Rico, just closed last week. The cabins are nice but with no onsite restaurant - which Used to serve all day - it's incredibly difficult to stay here. Unless you plan on cooking Every meal. Not my idea of a mountain retreat vacation. The GREAT NEWS is that Coco Rico is moving to Ashland, into Amuses old space right downtown!! They will only be open for dinner but will continue to offer their A-amazing burgers and the addictive Grilled Shrimp Mango Salad. Opening early August, we hear. read more

Took over 40 minutes to get our food, then another 10 minutes for the other couple who ordered just after us. Then the salad was warm and the sandwich and fries were cold. This is a great place to stay if you're interested in hiking nearby or like their amenities. I felt like the interior of the room was extremely clean and amazingly bug free considering it is out in nature. If I were a different person, I would really enjoy this place. I cannot complain because it is objectively great for a ton of people. However, it's just not for me! 1. there's no decaf in the room (small deal) 2. I practically had a panic attack on the drive there because it's at the end of 17 miles of "historic highway" where you feel like you're going to slide off the road to certain death. 3. There's nowhere but the cafe to eat. Great if you plan ahead or if you're ok with more simple fare. It depends on your vacation requirements and the type of trip you're taking. 4. The view of my "outdoor tub " is a communal seating area that looks like an abandoned wedding reception when not in use. You also can't use soap in the jacuzzi. what kind of soak is that?? (there was also no tv, but i am all in favor of that so it doesn't go on my list of negatives.) As i said, I can't give a bad review to this place, but the thought of going back there gives me hives. This is a review for the cabins, specifically Parsnip Lakes. Our second time here and we love it even more. Full kitchen, beautiful nordic styling, jacuzzi tub, full deck and grill, summer screened in porch, and of course functional wood burning stove. There is a queen bed in the loft and a king bed in the main bedroom. The ambiance is perfect for a quiet mountain retreat. The wifi internet is functional but not suitable for streaming, videoconferencing, etc. This is definitely a place to unplug and unwind. Download some movies before you go for the quiet evenings, or break out some of the board games they have available. We don't have a dog but this cabin is very pet friendly if you follow a few simple rules which seemed reasonable. Quick shout out to the on-site restaurant COCORICO which is a short walk from the cabin. They have a creative and savory cuisine and the most perfect cozy ambiance, yes even in covid times. They're also super safe with indoor and outdoor seating options. COCORICO is one of the reasons we returned. We drive here from San Francisco which is about a 6 hour drive. Make sure you get groceries down in the town of Ashland before you drive up the mountain as there is nothing besides the restaurant up here. Anyway, enough rambling. Horrible customer service through BookStayHop who are apparently managing reservations for the hotel. I called to ask about making a reservation and the cancellation policy so that I can plan my trip accordingly, and the person hung up on me. I called back and said that we got disconnected, and she said, "No we didn't - I couldn't hear you." I then asked what was the cancellation policy was and she said, "Five days." I was like, "What do you mean specifically?" She acted angry that I asked for clarification. I've heard great things about this hotel and was really looking forward to staying. But after the horrible customer experience, I am making other weekend plans. read more

Loved GSI!!! Warm night, ate outside, had a great Cobb Salad followed up by a homemade piece of blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream - way grubs. Service is a little slow, but, one has to consider the fact that: 1. you are in the friggin woods 2. you aren't eating at Chez Panisse Definitely a great destination if in the area, not as though you have any real choices. Green Springs is a beautiful getaway! The room was clean, orderly, pretty, and inviting. The attached private Jacuzzi was heavenly. The onsite trails are not incredibly long, but they don't need to be; you're right next to a whole gamut of trail systems. Even so, the onsite was perfect for a dog walk. Dog friendly (but not in a smelly or messy way), with great staff and really kind and attentive housekeeping. We'll absolutely be back. Don't skip Cocorico if you come out! I almost couldn't believe this was the hospitality business. I have a HUGE list of unexceptional thing she said. We did end up going to Green Springs and it was Magnificent the staff and cabins were impeccable. I did talk to the owners Son of Green Springs about this experience with BSH so he was sharing it with his parents that own the property. And of course he apologized profusely. Exceeded all expectations! We stayed in Mayfield Gardens for one night, but had booked another cabin - they let us choose from the available ones. Best, sweetest customer service like ever.
