My husband and I stopped to stay a night in Ashland on our way home from Eugene. We love Ashland and decided to stay somewhere different than we normally do and chose Country Willows Inn and I am so glad we did! This is a stunning property. It has a huge Willow Tree in front, a pond with ducks, a gazebo with a beautiful garden area and pond with fish, and is just so well done. We watched deer in the morning while we ate our breakfast! Lisa was so nice and took good care of us! Cookies when we arrived, a handwritten note, truffles in our room. Super friendly and helpful when we arrived. Every detail was so wonderful. There is a pool also but it was closed due to the weather being too cold but I'm sure it's amazing in the summer. Parking is good also. The inn is not too far from downtown and they offer a delicious breakfast as well. We had apple cider crème brûlée and sweet potato hash with chicken apple sausage. Good coffee too! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back to this lovely and charming place! read more

This was perhaps the best experience I've ever had with staying somewhere. Everyone was so gracious and helpful. The property was absolutely beautiful with all the landscaping. A gorgeous Willow tree. Feeding ducks! A wonderful warm swimming pool. The most delicious breakfast ever! It started with cold peach soup with honey drizzle and fresh nutmeg! Then French toast which was made gluten-free for us, with warm peach compote. And Apple chicken sausages. So divine! It was pure luxury! And the owner (I've unfortunately forgotten her name) was super kind and super friendly! We will DEFINITELY be staying here again and again!! This place is fabulous. Once you stay here it will be the only place you will want to stay in Ashland. This is our forth visit. We stayed in the Willow Room but all of the rooms are beautiful. The grounds are so nice with a swimming pool, nice deck with lots of seating and a big willow tree out front. The hosts, Dan and Kara are so sweet and attentive. Go on a diet before you come here though, as they make incredible breakfasts and you're gonna want to eat every single bit of it. Update: Came back again this year (2021) to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The food, hospitality and property are beyond reproach. I don't know of anywhere I'd rather stay. read more

We've been staying there for four years (8 visits by my count) and I regret that I haven't spent more time there just to chill out, de-pressurize, and relax. A great place to watch the wealth of wildlife on the grounds. The owners there have done such as excellent job over the years... they clearly love the business and it shows in every aspect. Staying there, we learned Friday morning that the owners are selling their B&B and moving. Staying at Country Willows was the most beautiful hotel experience I have ever had. The cottage we stayed in was private and so cozy, with a fire place and large tub with jets. My partner and I stayed here for one night during a road trip and LOVED it! Dan and Kara are so kind. The house and outdoors space were gorgeous, the rooms and beds were cozy and very comfortable, and the highlight is really the breakfast. It was incredibly thoughtful and DELICIOUS, and in a beautiful space. The breakfast changes everyday, but we had a nice fresh fruit parfait, an apple & ginger beverage, cornbread, and a fluffy mushroom & cheese omelette with sausage and fruit on the side. Amazing doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of this beautiful bed and breakfast. Even though it's just minutes away from downtown, it feels as though you're far away from the bustle of town. Everywhere you look there was a relaxing spot to read or journal, or even just contemplate life. This was a wonderful and welcome escape from our everyday worries. The staff was wonderful and very thoughtful with their recommendations for local activities and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and has everything you need to make your stay one of the best reasons to even visit Ashland. The fresh, seasonal breakfast was delicious and filling from the turtle scones to the chicken and waffles with jalapeño/current jam. It is possible to give a place 6 stars?? Dan and Kara are amazing hosts and went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was perfect. At the last minute our travel plans had to adjust (we had to move everything a day) and even though our reservation with them was "non-refundable" they worked with us to move the day without charging any sort of fee. There was no, "I'm sorry our corporate policy is" or " We'd like to help BUT..." Just common decency and understanding. We stayed in the Sunset Suite and it was clean and comfortable and breakfast that we had the next morning was amazing. They told us they are in they process of getting a restaurant license and I'm looking forward to sitting outside in the last summer and enjoying some small plates with a nice glass of wine looking out at their beautiful landscaping. Dan and Kara are great humans who you will love staying with. I think that they are the kind of people who you would ask to check your mail and feed your dog while you are away on vacation and when you came back would leave a nice meal out for you, "just to help out." Had an absolutely delightful stay at this place. While I did my research on Country Willows beforehand, we decided last minute to stay the night in Ashland. By then, the online system did not accept same day reservation and as a result I called the inn directly. Lucky for us for visiting non-peak season, Kara was able to assist in arranging a stay for us even though she was on travel and away from the inn at the time. Just few minutes from downtown, this place is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by a beautiful garden and nature. The inn itself is beautiful inside and out with common areas tastefully furnished. The suite is extremely spacious, comfortably furnished and has a large bathroom. I love all the detail they've put in the place. In addition to the breathtaking view from the breakfast room, the breakfast was also delicious. While we only stayed for a night, we haven't stopped raving about our stay here and cant wait to come back again soon. read more

So good we'll drive five hours. A couple months ago we were traveling to Ashland and just days before our trip the B&B we were going to stay at made a change to our reservation. This was on a holiday weekend so we were as the kids say, "Up s--- creek..." Fortunately country willows had a room available. Man oh man, are we glad we ended up here. It was so good we even came back for my wife's birthday. I love how every need is anticipated for you. Fresh coffee and tea in the common areas. Sunscreen and beach towels by the pool. Snacks and pastries in the main house and breakfast area. The hosts are very accommodating. I am perfectly happy conversing with strangers over breakfast, however for my wife she prefers to sleep in and enjoy breakfast at her leisure. Every morning when I walk in they have the tray ready for us and they ever remember that my wife is a vegetarian and has a nut allergy. Both times we stayed they remembered. Makes you feel a warm inside. They even remember when we like to have our room turned over. The breakfasts are amazing. Freshly prepared with seasonal ingredients. Also the food is beautifully presented. I'm never left hungry or wanting. I guess my only recommendation would be some sort of protein option for vegetarians on some of the days. We stay in the Sunrise suite. it is a gorgeous room with a big tub. It's perfect for a 100 degree day to just sit by the AC and watch some netflix on the chromecast. After a long drive from Portland, OR - anything more than 30 minutes is considered long for a Portlander. I was ready to peel myself out of my car seat and unfurl, stretch, relax, detox, unwind. First impressions: Tucked away on a hillside at the end of a quiet street just outside of the main strip in Ashland is Country Willows BnB. A lovely estate, that I could see as an artists retreat. The pictures on the website do not do the beauty of the surroundings or of the facilities justice. My senses were delighted w/ the beauty and serenity - just what the doctor ordered. In the lobby were decanters of Sherry, and Port Wine with dishes of raw almonds, and candies (I must admit that I imbibed a bit). Daniel was an incredible host - friendly, accommodating, and personal. This place was dialed in. BnB w/ a personal touch down to the finest detail (homemade organic granola, gourmet breakfasts that made my tongue burst into holy flames, my head swoon, and my tummy go gummy w/ delight). read more

My wife had made reservations for me 7 hours or so before I got here so I really wasn't expecting much but a comfortable place to sleep. I arrived at about 9:30pm after driving for 700 miles, so all I wanted to do was to get into bed. I was met at the front door by the husband and wife owners and immediately their kindness and smile brought some life into my tired eyes. They showed me the the grounds and then because of what is going on with Covid, they let me pick the suit of my choosing. Now in all honesty I'm not a fan of 'country' style decorating but everything is done so tastefully and not overdone that I found myself really appreciating the effort and thought put into it. After a soak in the jacuzzi tub and one of the best nights sleep I've had in years I woke and went to the dining area where I was greeted by the husband, with hot coffee and a delicious homemade breakfast. My travels put me back in this area tonight so I've already let them know I'd be staying another evening and for that matter any time I'm back in Ashland. I'm looking forward to coming back for the Shakespeare festival too. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who just needs to relax! read more

Every year we return to Country Willows to discover a major improvement or significant system update to the B&B. The care and energy that the owners, Dan and Kara, give to the inn makes our stays endlessly relaxing. We feel pampered! Country Willows is more a resort destination than a place-to-stay B&B. The property is a well-maintained, non-functioning farm complete with grassy fields, a pond, and geese. In real life farmers work to hard for me to want to live on a farm. But, I love the rural fantasy that Country Willows offers! There is a full-size pool and plenty of spaces indoors and outdoors where you can grab your Kindle, iPad, or !!!gasp!!! book and hide from the world. The space is gorgeous and the care to the guests is embarrassingly wonderful. The breakfasts are a great example of the standards. Every morning there's a different juice, fruit course, and main course. Each course is excellent, often locally produced, and full of flavor. And, I shouldn't forget the scones or bread that magically appears by the coffee pot in the breakfast room about 8 each morning. Very fine! The property is on the edge of Ashland, which means it's only a 10-minute or so drive from the theaters of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Each room is different so check the website to pick your size and layout. Our favorites are the Sunrise and the Hayloft because we stay multiple days and like the extra space those suites have. We visit Country Willows the same time every year, and now socialize with two other couples who started booking into Daedalus week with us 17 years ago. We spent Christmas at this place and we were blown away at the beauty of this place! Very peaceful and relaxing. Being Christmas there was only us and 2 other couples there. Booking process and communication were great. Breakfast in the mornings were AMAZING!! 3 course!! Strong coffee! We first stayed in the Pine Ridge suite, but ended up moving to the Sun Rise Suite. Pine Ridge suite doesn't have any windows really which made me feel a bit claustrophobic. It also had a faint gas smell (form the fireplace) which i was sensitive to, (maybe that has since been taken care of) Its a huge suite, bathroom is gorgeous and loved the fireplace. But The windows thing really bothered me. Not being able to see out. They were kind enough to let us switch rooms! Sunrise suite was AMAZING. I honestly did not want to leave. It was bright, beautiful, COZY and so inviting. It had a little reading nook, beautiful gas fireplace, comfortable bed and a tub in the room! Shower was large and stylish. The common areas in the house were very nice too. They had 3 sittingrooms that were all very cozy and inviting. They had complimentary port wine and coffee-tea. The one thing that disappointed us was the fact that it was no Christmas decorations. Going away for a Christmas holiday, missing family, snow, and all the coziness Christmas time has to offer, we had hoped to be in a place with a Christmas tree and a decked out house... Overall it was an amazing stay and we will definitely go back there! read more

Wow...what a great place to spend an anniversary getaway. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. And it was worth every penny spent. This is our second visit to Country Willows, both times we were here for our anniversary. And I would come back again and again. The setting for the B&B is spectacular. Tucked away against the hills on the south side of Ashland, this little getaway is not too far from the downtown area. About a 5 minute drive (or 15 minute bikeride) from the Shakespeare Festival. We stayed 6 nights, 3 in the Sunrise Suite and three in the PIne Ridge Suite. The Pine Ridge is spacious, with a beautiful bathroom and a nice seating area/porch off the main door. The Sunrise, however, may be our favorite. It is a bit smaller, and the bathroom isn't as appointed, but the private balcony is pretty awesome! The breakfasts here are amazing. 3 course meals that are made with what is in season in their garden, and the chef likes to play with new ideas as well as some old favorites. Dan is a really good chef, and he also made one first course fruit compote made from the blackberries that another guest had picked the previous day. Simply amazing. Kara is really nice and accommodating. She clearly has the temperament to work the front of a B&B. Most of the guests are older (the place is not cheap, so it tends to be people with some extra cash or retirees that are travelling up from California), and they tend to be more demanding of Kara's time. She takes it all in stride, goes out of her way to help everyone, and does everything possible to make sure her guests are well cared for. I cannot recommend this place enough for a nice little getaway. No matter how long you stay, you will wish you stayed longer. I can easily see this as our yearly getaway from PDX. read more

A place that will live in our hearts. We've stayed at the Country Willows twice this year. The first time was to enjoy a short vacation in beautiful Ashland. The second time was to have our wedding in their lovely garden. The Country Willows B&B is something special. Dan and Kara - the owners and soul of Country Willows - are amazing. The ambiance of the B&B is spectacular. It truly is a home away from home: comfortable, serene, fresh, familiar, and prepared with so much heart. The B&B is conveniently located as well. It is off the beaten path, but still only minutes away from all of Ashland's attractions and restaurants. During our time at the Country Willows, we had the chance to see all of the rooms at the B&B because we rented out the entire property for our intimate wedding weekend with friends and family. Each room is unique, well appointed, and assembled with care. The breakfast in their dining room is locally sourced and delectable, just one more facet in which so much consideration and careful planning goes into. Their staff is also extraordinary, and willing to go out of their way to make you feel at home. Kara and Dan went above and beyond to make our and our families' stay as special and personal as possible. As we planned our wedding, Dan and Kara were so patient, kind, open, sincere, and just real. We knew our wedding would be fabulous, but even so, the actual day totally blew away our expectations. It was more marvelous than we imagined it could be! In large part, this is because of Dan and Kara's consideration and support. Dan helped us juggle numerous outside vendors with grace and flexibility. And Kara was always available and caring, ensuring our guests had everything they needed every step of the way. We truly, truly LOVE this place. And we will be back as often as possible! read more

The personal touch of a b and b with the service level/furnishings/facilities of a luxury hotel -- wow. I had gotten the two nights stay as part of an auction package, so hadn't researched the inn, but if I'd had any expectations, they were far exceeded. The setting is beautiful, the thoughtful touches are everywhere, and the gourmet breakfast would put most destination restaurants to shame. They even had the daily NY Times! Cara was gracious about our late arrival (they really do wait for you, so if arriving past 5 you should let them know) and Dan offered to raid the kitchen for cereal suitable to my non-healthy-eating teen. I've already told the man I'm dating that I want to come back for a different kind of visit than I had with my daughter! read more
