How did I live in Edgewater/Andersonville area for so long and never visited? If you are craving a solid burger, this is your signal. They are not in the top 10 best burgers in Chicago just because, let me tell you, that burger is fiiiiiiireeeee!!! I visited during lunchtime, so it was quieter than I believe it becomes at night. Anyways, plenty of space to sit either inside or in their street patio. Of course it couldn't belong to the great north side of Chicago without a great variety of beers, but, their selection of whisky, bourbons and rums blew my mind. So many things to choose from! Of course we ordered the bad burgers and added their famous fried onion straws. No words it was amazing!! cooked to perfection (or as asked haha) and sided with the most crispy fries ever! Menu offers many more options like tacos, full entrees, salads and baos, which I am dying to try! Service was on top as well! Coming back soon for sure :) read more

Food was good. Ambience was dark and gives off date night vibes. They don't take reservations over phone - you have to go in person to make reservations. The wait wasn't too bad when we went. Street parking only. Staff was nice. I would recommend if you like burgers! read more

Zack is an amazing bartender. He's very attentive. We're a young married black couple mid 30s. The atmosphere was very welcoming and unassuming. We were greeted and welcomed and thoroughly attend to on a Friday night. The food is awesome. The steak was amazing in the tacos. It was extremely tender and of great quality. Loved our server. Bao and tacos were amazing!!! Burger was ok, Mac and cheese was good. Fun atmosphere, dark and romantic. Other than being a little out of the city itself, great spot! Only thing is we waited 2 hours. It's first come first serve so get there early l! read more

Stopped by on a warm summer evening with some friends and snagged a table on their patio. The patio is on the side of the building, which is nice to help avoid the traffic and noise on busy Clark St. Our server and all the staff members we talked to were super nice and helpful. Since their known for their burgers, all 3 of us of course had to order a burger. I got their classic Bad Burger: 2 patties with american cheese, pickles, and red onion mayo. TBH for me, the burger was a little underwhelming. I have heard rave reviews, so I might be willing to try it again, but we are in a city with so many incredible burgers... The star of the show for me was the mac and cheese. Creamy, flavorful, with chunks of bacon - holy cow it was DELIGHTFUL. Now THIS I would definitely be back for! I also snagged a super low ABV peach beer that I swear tasted like sparkling peach juice. It was so yummy! read more

We went in on a Thursday noon and luckily didn't have a wait. There's plenty of street parking available around the restaurant. They have a stunning bar! I would note that it's a bit dark inside. Food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the "Bad Burger", which has two patties and added the fried onions ($19.50). I have to say that this is one of the biggest burgers that I have ever tried. The burger comes with a basket of fries that are thin, well fried, and perfectly salted. The burger was good, but left me wishing it had a bit more flavor. The portion size is massive and can probably be shared. The service was great. Our server was attentive, friendly, and fast. I would definitely like to come back to try this place for drinks - they have a 5 page menu with 4 pages of drinks! read more

The wolf burger is all you need to order at this place. It is one of the best in the city. A triple patty that's smothered in cheese, onion strings and bacon. The service was exceptional as well. I sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly, answered all my questions and was great with the small chat as I was eating. Do go if you're in Andersonville. read more

Little Bad Wolf is cool all around: cool staff, cool vibe, cool ambiance. The bathrooms are spacious and perfect for a selfie or usie. Dooooo iiiiit! Baos, burgers and tacos- that's the main attractions. Luckily my vegetarian friend loved the zucchini tacos! While there's lots of tables both inside and out, there's usually a teensy wait. We told our server we were celebrating my friend's 40th birthday, and he did nothing. I find it so bizarre that a drink or dessert isn't comped to add to the celebration, especially when he specifically asked if we were celebrating anything. We chose your restaurant. As a party of 6 with no reservation (they don't accept them), we were happy to be able to quickly be seated on a Saturday night. The bar and dining area had a moody vibe and some cool art work. Glasses and bottles of water were brought to the table for self-service. This was our experience with service overall during our visit, adequate. We ordered drinks. There were a good amount of beer, wine and liquor options to choose from. Some suggested cocktails- with or without alcohol. I got the mixed breed cocktail. It came with a large pineapple slice which I removed to make easier to drink. It was okay. For food, the majority of us all got one of the three burger options - sliders to large 3 patties bursting with toppings. I went with the Bad Burger with bacon added and the fries as my side. I wanted to try the mac and cheese, but thought that might be too much food. I was right, the portions for the burgers were generous.My napkin definitely came in handy for this 2 patty burger with red onion mayo that oozed out. I would give the burger a 4/5. While I was hungry going in, I really didn't get to the shoestring style fries as I filled up quickly. I took them to go, but left the aioli which was not a standout. I would give 3.5 stars but that's not an option. The food is usually really good, but there have been a time or two where my burgers were quite undercooked. That said, the sliders (plus fried eggs and onion straws) are my go to and I usually add the Mac n cheese side (which could stand to have 50% less bacon in it). The vibe is a bit pretentious though, and it is on the expensive side. The whole setup with the restaurant next door is weird: they're open til midnight but stop taking to go orders at ten, for some reason, which is annoying when you're drunk and hungry at 9:45 and they refuse to take your order over the phone and instead suggest you come order in person. read more

There's a lot to love about this place: the vibe is hip and edgy, like a hot chick on a Harley. Our server was made to order, perfectly managing the four of us and I'm not just saying that, she was that good. I also applaud the drink selections, a classy array of cocktails. I wanted to love the Bad Burger and fries, but both, in my humble opinion, fell short, far from my expectations. In many respects I judge a burger by the quality of the meat; the perception that it should be distinctly flavorful, a cut above the hamburger I would buy at a grocery. It wasn't. And the fries? They were, in a word, oily. I sent them back because they were also barely warm. I'm guessing the fries would have been much better if the oil had been hotter. And I get it, they're busy and too many orders at once doesn't give the fryer a chance to recover its temperature. But surely they should realize when that happens and adjust accordingly. So while I might go back to have a cocktail, chill a bit, and soak in the vibe, I'll be looking for something else on the menu. read more

Phenomenal! The wolf burger is so tasty and juicy. The highlight was actually the mussels - the sauce it comes with is one of the tastiest sauces I've had in the city. Phenomenal table service and the overall speed to get our food was great. They do not take reservations and the place was super packed at 4 on a Saturday. Such a trendy spot! My boyfriend and I stopped by to grab and drink and order takeout. The place is located next to a grocery store but the lot next to the building is reserved for the store so make sure you park on the street to avoid being towed. The inside is dim and has such a calming ambiance. It was not too loud so a perfect spot for a date! The bar is huge with a wide selection. I ordered the El chupacabra and it was so good! I loved the mezcal used in it. The pineapple was a good choice too! My boyfriend got the old fashion and throughly enjoyed it. Food wise we ordered the Chop salad, elote, little burgers with a side of Mac and cheese. The salad threw me off a bit because there was pasta in it but overall super good and huge. Like the salad could feed two people. The elote was delish! I loved it but the fried avocado was a little odd. My boyfriend loved his little burgers. The side of mac and cheese was huge! Like you could eat it as a full meal. It was overall a great meal! read more

Let me tell you, this place is the real deal. Every time I take Lucky (my little parrot) for burgers, we always come here! I love the atmosphere and the staff is always so nice to let my bird fly around and say hi to everyone. As for the burgers, phenomenal. I can taste them now as my bird is sitting on my shoulder. Talk about the coziest spot!! Lighting is very moody and tables are very close to one another!! Drink menu is extensive. I got the Diamonds & Rust, delicious!! My friend and I both got the Bad Burger, I got fries, they got Mac and cheese. Shared both sides! Our server was great! Busy, but you wouldn't know it based off her service! The food delicious!! Everything in the menu was so good we had to get a little bit of everything so we could try it all. High recommend the mac n cheese and sliders. The duck taco was okay and the steak bao was pretty good. Mussels were delicious and the serving size was great. Service was good but it was pretty busy. I went here for a birthday lunch. I heard good things and wanted to check it out. Let me tell you its dark in there (even in broad daylight) but we were seated quickly! We got a variety of dishes- started with a fried shrimp appetizer- which to be honest might have been my favorite thing. It was crispy fried fresh to perfection with a great dipping sauce! I also got macncheese, fish taco, shrimp bao, chicken bao, and brussel sprouts. The Fish taco was my favorite out of the mains- crispy and lots of flavor. The macncheese was okay- I didn't love the huge pieces of bacon in it. My boyfriend got steak and mashed potatoes w gravy. It was good. I would come back to try the burger, which technically they are known for. If I remember correctly their water didnt have any ice and was room temp- I prefer it colder. Visited Little Bad Wolf for the first time with a couple of friends and it was a great experience. The server was attentive, personable, and quick. I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink so he recommended the Santa Clara and I really enjoyed it. For food, I ordered the Bad Burger, which was one of the best burgers I've had! Little Bad Wolf is a casual spot and from what I could see, it's also very popular. Since the wait for a table was long, we sat at one of the community tables - would recommend that option if you're on a time crunch. read more

Love love love this spot!! First off, it's a popular spot with no reservations so prepare to wait. They have a community standing table where you can enjoy a cocktail while waiting. We came at 6pm on a Friday with 3 people, and we waited for about 20 minutes. I was obsessed with my cocktail - Can't remember the name, but all that my friends tried were great as well! Great flavors, not sweet, and presented artfully. Would definitely sit at the bar here if that was an option!! Burgers are awesome, hands down. I didn't love it more than au cheval, but it was a close runner up in flavor and the less stressful neighborhood vibe was preferable. The beef patties were perfect, and the pickles were insane. A Saturday night, and we were able to get right in for 2 at a shared table, which was great because we were starving!! I got the Wolf burger. It was cooked to perfection. The onion straws seemed a bit on the salty side, but it didn't take away from the burger. The fries were great! They came with a tasty aioli for dipping. Being at a shared table was fine. It was my mission in 2024 to discover the best cheeseburger and the city of Chicago, and this was the last on my list - - and it did not disappoint. Focusing just on the "wolf burger", it has enough components to feed a small village, with every single bite is swarming with flavor. If it falls within your dietary pallet, I recommend you get all the fixings, including the fried egg and the bacon, but the patties alone clearly or high-quality meat with a very unique red onion Mayo I've never encountered before. I washed it down with their signature, old-fashioned, which is Top-notch. The service and ambience were incredible, and my five-year-old daughter enjoyed her steak tacos with the toppings on the side, but I couldn't help but have a bite or two, which were also next level. Did I discover the best burger in the city? I'm not quite sure, but it's definitely one of the best I've ever had in my life. I can't wait to come back and show my friends and family. read more

The hype is real!!! Amazing burger and arguably one of the best in the city! My friends and I went at like 3pm on a Sunday and waited around 10-15 min for a party of 5 however it was packed inside! They also don't take reservations. Service: Everyone from the receptionist to the busboys were so nice! Of course our waiter too. I was surprised that our food came out so fast considering how busy it was. Great job!! Food: Their menu intrigues me because they have some asian menu items thrown in there (ex. Lumpia, bao buns). I would love to try those next time I visit. Now the star of the show was their burgers. I chose the bad burger which is the double patty burger & I added onion straws and egg. The flavor/presentation/portion all 10/10!!! The burger was dripping in flavor so it got messy but thats the fun part. So so good - everyone needs to try! The fries were amazing as well. read more

I've been there 2x and both times did not disappoint. Little Bad Wolf is a trendy American restaurant with tons of beer, whiskey, and cocktail options. The only down side to LBW is that they do not take reservations and the wait can be up to an hour. But honestly, it's well worth the wait. SERVICE: the service was good, I wouldn't say excellent. Our waitress was nice but the service was kind of slow. It might be because it was a busy night and it looked like she was the only one tending to the outdoor patio. FOOD: I've ordered the mussels twice and I'll probably order it every time I am there. The mussels are drenched in this wonderful coconut curry broth and served with a side of crostini. I love dipping the crostini in the broth and topping it with a mussel. It is literally heaven. I ordered 1lb of the jumbo fried shrimps. Honestly, 1/2 lb would have been better because it is filling. Still get the shrimp because they are sooo good! They were crispy and flaky, and came with this amazing cocktail horseradish sauce that just elevated the flavors. The burger is one of the best burgers I've had in the city. I ordered the bad burger (2 Pattie's) with a side of elotes and Mac and cheese. The burger was juicy and whatever sauce they put on it was perfection. I preferred the elotes over the mac and cheese but both were really good. Overall, LBW is one of my favorite places to get burgers. I am curious to try their báo and tacos. The price was a good value for the quality of food you will get. read more

Wandering around Edgewater, we stopped at Little Bad Wolf, an unassuming storefront on Bryn Mawr Ave. but step inside and you'll find a bright, active restaurant with two menu pages of beer and drinks to go along with their delicious food. We got the jumbo fried shrimp, Waldorf salad, and Mac and cheese. Enough to feed an army! The shrimp was plump and delicious, not too greasy. The Waldorf was bright and fresh, and the Mac & cheese was savory and filling. Definitely worth a try for anyone who likes good food in a fun environment. Great cocktails, especially the gin & tonic. The bartenders were swamped but were remarkably able to maintain a very attentive presence. Didn't catch the one guy's name but it was a Friday evening and he was an MMA fan. He deserves some recognition. The clams were delicious and the sliders were surprisingly very filling. read more

Came in on a cold Friday night and had a bit of a wait, but that's okay because they have a community table where people stand around and order drinks. After a bit we were seated and were ready to order. My friend and I split the grilled hearts of romaine and the bad burger with a side of mac and cheese. And it was the perfect amount of food. The heart of romaine was tasty, albeit a little weird to eat. The burger was incredible. And the mac and cheese stole the show. The side portion is huge! Terrific food from everything my wife and I tried. We had the mussels, Waldorf salad and the wolf burger. Mussels were fantastic and rich with umami and fat. Letting the bread slice soak up the decadent sauce only further elevated the flavors. The portion size of the salad was incredibly surprising and generous for the price. The burger... Undoubtedly delicious, creamy egg/yolk, gooey cheese, beef, salt, and fat. I didn't want to put it down as I was afraid that it would fall apart as soon as it left my hands. The fries almost appeared to be like a background character/extra. A person your buddy brings over but just stands in the corner away from any one. After devouring the burger and chewing it in my esophagus did I get to the fries. They didn't wow, but it is hard to follow that previous act. I almost wish something special could be done to the fries to further bring out the typical dynamic duo that is burgers and fries. My wife and I split the burger and the salad and they seemed to pair better versus the fries. The burger photo haunted me. I've had it in my phone for days and every time I see it. I can hear the calling. The craving. The void. Initially I wasn't incredibly flabbergasted at the burger but the fact that a mere image can cause this mild distress is a sign that the wolf might be something more in a different sense. It's not flashy, it is less busy, and if you don't know... sneeze and you'll miss it. The vibe is dark and moody, with notes of brown and dark blue. The art also fits the overall atmosphere well. I question, however, the large TV screen that seemingly only shows their name. It's not intrusive, just a bit weird. However, it was so dark that seeing the menu was more challenging than it needed to be. I can light it up with my phone, though I do (and did) so at the risk of being 'that guy'. Top-down lighting folks, I see the lamps up there, too! I ordered: - Oysters (4 as-is, 4 with mignonette on the side) - Duck Gnocchi - Sticky Toffee Pudding The oysters were medium-sized and excellent quality! They were delightfully briny and without a hint of cartilage or sand. The first order came with mignonette, and while enjoyable, being a bit of a purist, I put on a second order with mignonette on the side. Sure enough, I found myself adding it of my own accord. All the more evidence the kitchen knows what it's doing! Further proof? The Duck Gnocchi - the gnocchi themselves were soft and pillowy, more so than I've experienced up to this point. The duck in the dish was tender and soft as can be. The veggies (mirepoix) were sliced and cooked perfectly, adding texture, freshness and bulk (fiber?) without overpowering anything. To top it all off, breadcrumbs for a little crunch, and a mild sauce that tied everything together in perfect harmony. For the most important course, dessert, we have the Sticky Toffee pudding. A well cooked, well sauced helping of pudding, topped with a large scoop of ice cream that slowly melted, transforming the flavor as you go. For drinks, I ordered the Charred Boulevardier and the Burnout. The Boulevardier was rich, sweet and savory, in contrast the Burnout was brighter and fresher, and still boozy. While neither drink was a smack to the face with alcohol, after getting up, I could feel the effects. In terms of their service, it was polite and attentive, and all items came out fast! The prices are okay, though if you love oysters, keep in mind they will set you back $4/each! Final verdict: There is nothing at The Good Wolf that I wouldn't happily order again. It is hard to choose a standout when everything was of a high caliber. I look forward to working my way through their menu, and continuing to feed the good wolf (props is you know the story of the Two Wolves).

I would say that for parties of 2 to 4, this is a good joint to hang out in, but any larger groups, I did not see a space to accommodate more than 4 people. The night we were there, they had a cool 80s playlist going and that was nice to sit and chair dance while drinking my cava. The Doctor liked the fact that the beer was really cold. And I loved that they had sparkling wine. There is a small section on the menu for food: chips/salsa, Chile con queso, guacamole, Heartbreaker Burger (Chorizo Smash Patty, Grilled Onion, Cilantro, Chile Con Queso, Pickled Jalapeno, Shredded Lettuce, Jalapeno Ranch, Sesame Seed Bun) and Truck Stop Nachos. I got the Truck Stop Nachos (Black Beans, Queso, Pickled Red Onions, Pickled Peppers, Tomato, Crema). You have the option to add Picadillo Beef, Chorizo, or Carne Asada as protein. But you also have the option to have it vegan. I went with steak. Overall this was a nice snack but would have liked a little more steak added to it. I am not sure if you can order from the menu of Lonesome Rose, but the next time we go, I will ask about that. And I have to remember not to call Lonesome Rose, Lonesome Dove (the novel and mini-series). The selection of cocktails is decent, and it is nice that they have non-alcoholic beverages as well. For those that like hard seltzers, they have those as well as a "Toke Cosmic Berry", which is a THC seltzer. Service was nice, the bartender was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be adding this to our rotation of happy hour places.

The server was very nice and helpful but I didn't get his name unfortunately. I iordered the half slab of ribs and 1/4 chicken with side of green beans which also came with corn on cob and Cole slaw. I also had a slice of apple pie to go. Everything came out pretty quick and temp was good. Sorry no pics this time though but it resembles what others have posted. So let me just jump right in on the ribs. They were ABSOLUTELY no where to being on a top 10 list of ribs so not sure where or who gave them the title of (best) but it definitely falls in the category of false advertisement. They were pretty tough and flavor was average at best. The chicken was moist and pretty good as were all the sides. The best part for me was the apple pie. Definitely changed my mood after the disappointment of the ribs. I'm not condemning this place but I can't recommend it either based on the misleading rib statement so proceed with caution!

Amazing food, rough service. I'm in service and absolutely hate leaving negative reviews but my boyfriend and I were left with empty drinks for about 10 minutes....I'm not a hard person to please and understand that things can get overlooked but our server was in the corner rolling silverware and drinking wine. Then part of our order was missing, fortunately he was able to produce that missing part fairly quickly. After, finishing our drinks we flagged him down to get a check.......then he immediately went back to folding silverware and drinking wine even though we were itching to get out and our card was out in seconds. Fortunately a very sweet server passed by and offered to run our card for us. As she walked back she gave our server our card and pointed out that we had been waiting. Honestly, it just made us laugh and the night wasn't horrible but yikes. I get that serving isn't a glamorous job and people can be tough but to see your server ignore you while drinking wine is just outrageous. I WILL say that the food was tremendous and I would still recommend this place to friends and family. Worth a shot. read more

Absolutely love the feel and vibe of this place. It has an old school vintage feel, and is a great place to eat or just to have drinks. They do have an outside patio, although that seems to fill up quite quick. This place has some unique drinks. I love my drink, and my friends all said their drinks were some of the best they have had. I had the "Green Eyes" cocktail, which is made of matcha green tea infused tito's vodka, lime, mint, celery bitters. It was really refreshing and a great summer drink during a hot day. In terms of food, I enjoyed the fish tacos. The fish was fresh and the tacos had a fresh and zesty taste to them. I would definitely recommend. By the way...they also has Baos! This stuff is delicious and hard to find. It was not expecting them to have Boas, as it's an Asian specialty. Definitely give the Baos a try. Overall, I was very pleased. The service was very good, the decor was inviting, and the food was as good as it can be. read more

We did not eat or anything but we just met right outside. Today i was close by and wanted something casual but not too casual to say the least. So i decided to stop by and give it a try. My waitress was PHENOMENAL. Very professional. Friendly. I can not say more then this. I had a tuna poke, crab cake and the side of mac n cheese. Tuna poke: tasty, fresh and cannot say any complaint about it. Crab cake: i would had give 3 stars. I wasnt very impressed on the crab cake. Not much flavor beside the crab taste. But i would have expected something a but better. MacNcheese: lots and lots of flavor. Usually mac and cheese are heavy but this is light enough. 77$ tab and well deserve 40% tip. I'm only giving this rating for the burger, everything else was pretty Average. I've heard a lot of great things about the burgers here, so wanted to give it a try. No reservations, it was an hour and a half wait (Saturday 7pm) so we waited no problem. Ordered the side Caesar salad, which was very big (very shareable) I give it a 7/10. Ordered the Bad burger & wolf burger, both with fries, and a side mac n cheese. Burgers were at 9/10 , fries were very underwhelming 3/10 - this was disappointing, because the fries are a big part of the meal so this knocked a lot of points off, and they also got cold fast. Mac n cheese looked better than it actually was, it lacked flavor (especially since we did no bacon) - it wasn't too bad 6/10. Ambience was dark and cozyish- music was too loud imo. Overall, worth trying for the burger only. I would pick Au Cheval over this though. read more

I have been here now several times since it opened and they have delivered every time. It is a small joint and can get crowded, so I recommend coming on a weeknight evening or earlier in the day when the wait will not be as long. I love the music they play and energy in the bar. My favorite drink I have had is the Fraud or Fable, don't be deterred by the tequila and egg whites, it is delicious. My husband's favorite is the whiskey cocktail, Red N Wolf. They also have a great beer and wine list. We recommend the Lumpia and Fried Shrimp as appetizers. I am hoping to try the crab cake next time we go. The boas and tacos are good, but the burger and fries are an absolute must! We also really enjoyed the elotes and the mac and cheese. Keep up the good work Little Bad Wolf. Holy crap! I was not expecting this. Per the reviews I knew it would likely be good, but this was insanely good. Awesome drink list (per my husband). For food, we had: A grilled romaine salad - huge and very filling Guacamole and chips - chips were yummy by themselves. Guac and salsa were delicious and fresh. Wolf Burger - Husband loved it. Could only fit half in his belly and took the other half home. Side of Mac and Cheese - OMG! OMG! OMG! Fish Bao - Orgasmic Elotes - Even more orgasmic and one of the most delicious sides of food I have ever eaten. This is by far the best restaurant in Andersonville and that is saying a lot because there is some heavy competition just up the road. I miss you, LBW! See you soon! P.S. Came here on a weekend at around 7 pm and it was packed. It's a small place, much smaller than I expected so we put our name down for a party of two and were told it was a 45 min wait. No big, we waited at the bar. I had an awesome old fashioned, the bartender was super friendly and the wait staff was really great as well. 20 minutes later they told us our tables was ready (yay!) so we closed out and got to our table. I was really happy that they had tvs on and I could watch some football. Anyways, ordered the mussels and the pork bao since these had some awesome reviews. They were both good, but much too sweet for my taste-- hence the four stars. However, if I were to just rate the staff and the drinks, it would have easily been a 5. Wow! That's a great restaurant. I haven't been so amused with a restaurant before in my life. With great food, and many more delicious food, this is worth your money. I think I had the best experience and feeling while eating my delicious food. It was so awesome that I can come back again and again. The staffs were so friendly and very accommodating. They were very attentive in every detail that I gave them. They respect privacy of every customer. Very cozy and the food will never disappoint you. The place is very clean and follow health standards, since it's pandemic. The overall service was excellent. I am a very satisfied customer and I will recommend Little Bad Wolf to all of my friends.
