Little Bad Wolf came highly recommended by some coworkers who warned us in advance to come during "off hours" unless we wanted to wait an hour for a table. We came for lunch on a Sunday; it wasn't too busy and we got seated right away. The whole restaurant has a darker, more dimly lit vibe to it. Several families with their kids; I would consider it pretty kid friendly. Servers were attentive and the food came out impressively fast. Portions were HUGE. We each got a burger and were unable to finish it. (The wolf burger was too big to fit into anyone's mouth - it became a fork and knife situation pretty quickly.) We saw someone at a neighboring table order a salad and it looked more like a family sized salad than a single serving. I would definitely recommend splitting food rather than have everyone order their own dish. That being said, all the food tasted...unremarkable? None of it tasted bad, but nothing blew me away. We drove an hour to get there, and were highly disappointed. It was not busy and we were seated quickly. We ordered the big wolf burger, fries and brussels sprouts. The burger was OK. The fries were ok but very salty and very small - as if it were remnants of previous fries. The brussels sprouts were such a disappointment, so salty that they were inedible. When this was told to the server (whom we had barely seen) she said "Well, we try our best" and proceeded to hand us the bill with the brussels sprouts still on it. All around, it was a bad experience with an OK burger as the highlight. Some consideration would have been appreciated. Do not normally give reviews, much less bad reviews. Hungry for dinner, so came here on weekend evening. Came with cousin and sister. I had the Bad Burger, which came with two beef patties, and added an egg and bacon. Because extra cholesterol and fat is good once in a while. For the side I chose fries and did not regret it. Others ordered Salad and what I believe was Little Burgers. For the Bad Burger itself, it was decent and though I could not taste the egg overmuch, I feel that the combo with egg beef and bacon did not go that well together, for some reason. The Cocktails First up, the drinks. My G&T? A showstopper. Not only was the glass practically Instagrammable, but it also hit the perfect balance--not a hint of syrupy sweetness and made with tonic so good I wanted to ask where they bought it, turns out the MAKE IT! Absolute perfection. My husband's bourbon? A rare gem. Sure, it came with a price tag, but for a bourbon connoisseur, this stuff was worth every penny. The Burger And then...the Wolf Burger. At first glance, it looked like everything burgers should aspire to be--tall, decadent, bursting with potential. But the first bite revealed a little hiccup. It was salty. And I don't mean a delightful little umami bomb salty. I mean OVERLOAD salty. I blamed the onion straws; my husband blamed the meat. Either way, we ended up dissecting the burger and eating its elements separately, which toned it down and made it actually delicious. Could this salt fest have been the result of a heavy-handed cook? Likely. Will we come back to find out? Also likely. The Fries Now, here's where Little Bad Wolf redeemed itself fully--THE FRIES. Crispy, golden perfection. We genuinely couldn't stop eating them. If for nothing else, we'd come back just to munch on these glorious fries while sipping craft cocktails. Final Thoughts Would I recommend Little Bad Wolf? Absolutely--especially if you're a fan of craft cocktails, rare bourbon, and burgers on the saltier side. Just maybe cross your fingers for a lighter hand in the kitchen that day. Would I come back? My partner brought me to LBW for a date night, and neither of us had been before. Street parking was relatively easy and we didn't have to walk far. We arrived just after 5pm for dinner. When you open the front door there's a huge floor to ceiling curtain that parts with the draft from the door swinging open that opens to a host stand and bar area, leading to the dining room to the left. The ambiance is a little moody, and perfect for date night. We were greeted immediately and taken to a table. The menu is on a QR code, which we didn't realize at first. There is also flat water on the tables. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We started with the house made tortilla chips served with two salsas, guacamole, and pico de gallo. One of the best chips and salsas I've had from a restaurant and clearly very fresh. I could eat those tortilla chips all night. I had the Mac and cheese entree and one steak bao. WOW the portion size on the Mac will feed me for three days. The cheese is so creamy, the bacon is a wonderful addition, A+ dish. My partner had the Wolf Burger and again - WOW on the portion size. Crunchy onions, a perfectly fried egg, and the sauce on the side was *chefs kiss*. I was highly impressed with the food at LBW and can't wait to come back. Came into Little Bad Wolf this weekend with a couple of girlfriends, and we had a great time! We arrived around 6:30pm on Saturday... which I would advise anyone to avoid : ). The wait is looong, but we were happy to find there was a standing-only table in the back that has a server for drinks. I wish we were informed of this table by the hostess; but we happened to walk back there after we put our name down to use the restroom, and happened to find it ourselves. After the long wait, we decided to order a few things to all share! We had a few of the Baos (pork and shrimp), the Little Burgers with fries (three sliders), the Elotes, Mac & Cheese, and the Pan Roasted Brussels Sprouts. The mac & cheese never came out, but everything was insanely delicious!! The burgers we could not stop talking about, those are a must try. We also loved the elotes and the fries. Next time I would skip the Brussels Sprouts, it didn't seem to have any sort of sauce or flavor to them, just roasted brussels with bacon. Definitely could have used some sort of glaze or sauce with them. Overall we had a great time and are still dreaming about those burgers. When the Bad Burger hit my table, the smell was so amazing I audibly went "Oh my god!". I got the egg on it, and I can say - they do indeed make one of the best burgers in Chicago. It's not one those greasy burgers where you feel gross afterward. It's flavorful, cooked correctly, and the bun is perfect. I got the Mac and Cheese as side. It was good but the burger was the star. I appreciated that they had some veggie options, even for the taco and bao there was at least one option. Little Bad Wolf is an automatic yes if anyone asks me to go with them. It is tucked away on the far end of Andersonville but it is definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately Little Bad Wolf does not take reservations so you have to visit and hope the wait isn't too long. Not taking reservations is probably a good thing because this is the type of place that would be booked up for weeks. I normally try to visit during none peak hours on a weekday and typically don't have to wait to be seated or the wait to short. The restaurant is not massive but they utilize their space efficiently. During the warmer months they offer outdoor seating which increases the seating offerings. I would not recommend visiting with a large party because the restaurant isn't really setup to accommodate large groups especially during peak hours. The staff has been very friendly every time I have visited. My waiter during my most recent visit was fantastic! During my most recent visit I ordered the Bad Burger with a side of mac-n-cheese. The food didn't take too long since it wasn't a peak time to visit. The food was delicious. The thing I like the most about Little Bad Wolf is that it is consistently good. A lot of places can be hit or miss but we rarely find a place that can maintain a consist level of quality food even in an economy that would force businesses to cut back on quality ingredients. Little Bad Wolf is my go-to place to take out of town guests. I have not ventured outside of the burgers so I cannot speak to the rest of the menu but the burger alone is enough to visit. I was able to get two solid meals from my order so it was a lot of bang for your buck. read more

This was my 3rd time at Little Bad Wolf and it has yet to disappoint me! I love the dark and romantic ambiance, it feels very intimate and comfortable. The service was excellent as always. They made me a fabulous cucumber martini. The food, however, is the STAR! We started with an appetizer of jumbo shrimp which was a perfect choice. I ordered the bad burger with an added egg. My son ordered the wolf burger and couldn't stop raving about it. Someone else in our party ordered the mac n cheese with chicken. The portion was huge and they had enough for TWO meals the next day. Walked in on a table and was blown away by the quality of food so late in the evening in a Saturday evening. The ambiance was intimate and the menu was looking quite promising. Upon further investigation, these are the same people that own Gretel and I am so impressed. We had the half fried chicken and an assortment of Baos and tacos. For the appetizer we got the lumpia and as a Filipina, get these l, these are a must get. The chicken was just a little over but definitely still edible so I was not mad. The bacon jam is a hit. Get it put it on everything, thank me later. Those mashed potatoes were to die for, literally still thinking of those as I write this. During nice weather months they have a nice indoor seating area, looks very cute. The craft cocktail and draft menu is long and the hey have special cocktails that rotate I am guessing since the menu is on paper but I did not partake on the visit I went to but I plan to when I return...which will be very soon. read more

There was a slight glitch with our meal this time, and they way the staff handled it was so perfect, they ensured my continued patronage. This is is fantastic service done RIGHT. The food. We tried the duck, steak, and pork. The duck bao was da bomb! Flavorful, crisp and soft in the right places, and an excellent combination of ingredients. Runs you about $6 each. Aside from the baos, LBW has a range of taco options as well that are generously filled. My husband ordered the elotes, which came with a 2 fried avocado halves. Deliciously fatty, crispy, and perfectly battered! Service was friendly, and the patio was packed during our Sunday lunch. The inside is a bit dim and smaller; I couldn't tell if the adjacent area was a private room or another space for seating indoor tables. Impressive bar inventory. So close to 5 stars. My wife and I popped in for a meal this evening and I was pleased to see Ocean Trout on the menu, as I am a big fan of trout and order it whenever the opportunity arises. When it arrived I noted that it was roughly the same size, thickness, color and texture of a salmon steak. After a few bites, which were delicious, confirmed that it was indeed salmon. The staff was busy and the restaurant was jumping, so I continued to enjoy the salmon. After finishing our lovely meal and paying the tab, I mentioned the mistake to the server. This is why I am writing this review. She said, "no it was ocean trout. We dont serve salmon." I disagreed having eaten both many many times, and she continued to gaslight me and again told me I just ate trout. This is upsetting and surprising to me , being such a popular and fun restaurant. Here are our favorites ranked: 1. Chips and guac/salsa: We know, it's just chips and guac/salsa... but this was SO GOOD! The chips were so crispy. The red and green salsas were both bomb.
