We've been here twice now and both times were delightful! Toast in Town has a good amount of seats outdoors and a decent size dining room indoors. Our last visit was earlier today with a party of 7 and they were able to accommodate us just fine. They are popular but you can add yourself to the waitlist when you're on your way to shorten wait time. There's also plenty of parking in the plaza. We've enjoyed the food both times we visited. So far, we have tried the Ocean Benedict (i.e. Crab Cake Benedict), Chicken Croffle (croissant waffle), and Roti Ham & Cheese. All were delightful and the Chicken Croffle remains my favorite with the savory sweet flavors with just a hint of spice, if you choose, with the sauce. It's delish! Yelp waitlist at the door but not available thru the app. We waited about 10 mins to be seated. Decor is industrial modern. It is quite nicely decorated, however, down side of their design is that the noise level gets annoyingly loud. I'm sure the owners did not want this but it's the side effect of not having a ceiling that can absorb the sound. When little kids screams during breakfast or even just tapping anything on the table it gets magnified in sound. They are playing background music that you can barely hear due to the compounding noise inside the restaurant. The food is good. If there is anything special about this place is the decor but they forgot to address the acoustics of the place. Service is very good too. Very expansive menu offered in a trendy, Instagram-friendly space. I ordered a roti ham and cheese. The roti had a nice texture, if a bit oily, but was otherwise pretty uninteresting. I thought there might be some kind of sauce or accompaniment, but it was just ham and cheese inside so a bit bland. However, this makes for a great kids' dish as it's very simple and comforting. For my friend's chicken sandwich, he wanted it without any of the coleslaw or pickles or sauce. When it came out with sauce, he was disappointed, since he had clarified with the server a few times. The server didn't write down the order so maybe that led to the confusion. Then there was some confusion in trying to explain what had happened and asking about having the item remade, and when it was, the chicken was not cooked through. At this point, my friend was pretty frustrated and just wanted to leave it. We were also charged for both sandwiches with a 15% discount on the remade one. I was pretty excited when Toast In Town came to this quiet plaza, as it needs more food diversity and businesses. Heck, Foster City barely had a full service brunch option as it was (not including hotel food)! When it appeared the menu was going to be Asian-inspired, I was intrigued. So, there's another Asian brunch place within city limits that has pretty identical dishes and menu style. Personally, I'm unsure of the affiliation, but I prefer the original location's prices and food preparation. While Toast In Town is questionably a reskin, and questionably repurposing Costco and Restaurant Depot items (croissants, bibigo cooked rice, spring mix), they do a decent job of a satisfying brunch. During prime brunch hours there is typically a wait, but otherwise it's quiet and quaint. There's also some tables for outdoor seating, though being inside with all the cute pillows and plushies feels nice. - Corn Cheese Rolls Interesting appetizer, as it's like a mozzarella stick filled with corn pieces, wrapped in egg roll wrapper. Would like a little more cheese than corn, and a sauce other than flavored mayonnaise, but worth a try. - Mozzarella Sticks The breading is more smooth, thick, and durable. It's like a hard mozzarella stick with a lot of stretchy cheese. I'd rather have it with a different sauce than their sweet chili. - Timeless Benedict Their benedicts are solid and straightforward! They toast the muffin well, have a good ingredient ratio, slice the tomato and ham perfectly, poach and place the egg appropriately, and have a good hollandaise flavor (this one in particular was basil). I didn't have high expectations for the potatoes, but they were actually hot and slightly crispy. The salad with sweet and sour-like dressing rounds out the dish. - Creme Brulee French Toast The custard is smooth and sweet, the toast is hot and crispy, and I love the torched sugar. It's pretty heavy and filling just by nature of being french toast. I'd wish the bottom toast was torched for the sugar crust as well. The brown sugar, scattered fruits, and walnuts are a bit random (the sugar actually makes it too sweet). - Chicken Croffles It was a standard and solid plate with two fried chicken pieces, and two toasted croffle pieces. The biscoff crumble was just there for dirt visuals. I don't think the sweet chili sauce really went well with the meal unless you really like that sweet and sour flavor with sriracha. We prefer this dish at the other Asian brunch place due to better ingredients and price. - Tokyo Ribeye The ribeye was cooked well, sliced perfectly, and had a nice sweet soy glaze. The seaweed on top was seasoned well, too, but kind of random on a steak. The egg and rice go well with the saucy steak, and the salad adds a bright and healthy balance to the dish. The dressing is thick, tangy, sweet, and sour. - Shibuya Chicken This is pretty much the Tokyo Ribeye, except with breaded chicken cutlet instead of steak. Love how the rice is still in the shape of the microwave bibigo cooked rice. - Ube Latte (Iced) Pretty drink, though it seems to be from powder. At least the powder is high quality and flavorful. It's creamy, nutty in a toasted coconut-like way, and pleasantly sweet. - Cha-Chak (Southern Thai Milk Tea) I'm not too sure what I was expecting, but it tastes like a creamy black milk tea, and not like Thai tea. My biggest deterrent is the price, though I'm not too surprised considering Foster City. While it's a copy of another restaurant and not made from scratch, I think Toast In Town at least provides a good presentation with technically sound execution. read more

I've eaten here a few times and pleased with the consistency of their food. The ube lattes are so good! I prefer the hot (I can taste the ube) over the iced one (little hint of ube). The chicken croffle was tasty. They have the spicy sauce on the side which I liked as I am not a fan of spicy stuff. The chicken was crispy and has enough flavor that you can eat it without the spicy sauce. It's pretty big servings, two layers of chicken and two layers of the croffle. I had to take half home ‍ The hamburger was yummy too. And the fries were hot and fresh (almost as good as the McDonalds fries ) but not quite. Four stars because the servers can be slow and not attentive esp when they're busy. We found this place through Yelp, tried it once, and now we are hooked. The menu is very similar to Taste and Glory, but I actually like this spot more because the ambiance is much nicer and more relaxed for brunch or lunch. Our favorites are the chicken croffin and the crème brûlée French toast. The croffin is buttery and flaky with perfectly crispy chicken, and the French toast is rich and just sweet enough. Splitting one savory and one sweet is the perfect combo. The staff are always super friendly, and this place checks all the boxes for a great brunch spot. Other reviews said customer service was good so maybe I went on an off day- don't know. I went on a Sunday at noon which I know is peak brunch time and we waited about an hour. They don't have a lot of really big tables so we were a party of 6 and bigger tables tend to stay and linger. That said, while I waited...we saw a table leave because the wait staff didn't come to take their order so maybe that might have been a sign. Now the food was good and no complaints there (although I could say it's expensive but what's considered expensive in the Bay Area/SF these days!). I got the chicken croffle ($21) and it was good. My son got the creme brulee French toast ($15). Now on to the customer service and the drinks! So i tried to order an iced coffee + lemonade drink that was on the menu, but the waiter said they don't have espresso and I needed to order something else. I ordered an iced coffee and that was fine so that made no sense to me! My kids ordered orange juice ($5) and apple juice ($5). The drinks came out and the glasses were more than half empty. I thought maybe they were kid sizes but the waiter said it wasn't when I asked and the bill showed them at full price. I am contemplating if I want to go back to this restaurant because although the food was good, the service was mediocre (stuff mentioned already, had to ask multiple times for things) and defensive when questioned and the beverages lead you to feeling kind of "ripped" off. After we asked about the drinks, I could see wait staff talking about it and staring at us so that was my last impression of my meal. Also, 20% automatic tip on the bill for parties of 5 or more and I can +1 on people mentioning the small flies in the restaurant. If you sit by the windows/corners, they are annoying. It came with syrup and sweet chili sauce to dress and it was a perfect sweet and salty combination. The Cha-Chak was good but it didn't taste any different from a regular milk tea. My only thing to complain (which my friend also agreed with) is the knives are kind of dull to use LOL it was hard to slice and tear my food into bite size pieces haha. We ordered the pandan French toast and Tokyo Ribeye to share. We really enjoyed the rib eye steak, super flavorful and loved the marinade they used. And the use of sticky rice is unique. The pandan French toast was a bit underwhelming for me. I feel it was a little lacking in terms of pandan flavor. We'll most likely return again if we're in the surrounding area. Had a great brunch at Toast In Town! We've been looking for an alternative place to our go to Taste & Glory, and this did not disappoint! Chicken Croffle My 4-year-old son and I shared this dish, and it was a hit with both of us. The fried chicken was super crispy and juicy, and the croissant waffle underneath was buttery and delicious. The syrup and sauce on the side tied it all together perfectly. Ocean Royale Benedict (Crab Cakes) Really well done. Fresh, meaty crab cakes topped with creamy hollandaise. The roasted potatoes and salad on the side made it a filling and balanced plate. Matcha Latte Nicely presented with whipped cream on top. The matcha had a good earthy flavor without being overly sweet. Overall Generous portions, thoughtful plating, and everything tasted fresh. Service was friendly and the space has a relaxed vibe. Between the playful Chicken Croffle and the more refined Benedict, it felt like there was something for everyone. read more

This was my second time here and I just had to write a review this time! I really appreciate the location is in Foster City, the ample parking, and that the waitlist wasn't extensively long, unlike a very well known brunch spot in San Mateo ;) The place is well-lit and has a bright, open setting with modern decor. It feels nice and cozy, making it a perfect spot to grab brunch with a friend. The service is decent. I have no complaints. They accidentally brought us the Creme Brulee French Toast, apologized, took it back and immediately brought us our Pandan French Toast. Food & drinks: Ube Latte: 5/5. Good amount of sweetness and ube flavor, not to mention how aesthetically pleasing it looked. Peach Iced Tea: 5/5. Again, perfect sweetness and super refreshing. Chicken Croffle: 5/5. The perfect crispiness of the chicken without being too heavy on the breading and the croffle was purely delicious! Pandan French Toast: 4/5. The french toast and pandan pairing was a bit different to me, which intrigued me to try it. To me the pandan sauce had a very subtle flavor. It was good to try, but not something I would order again. Ocean Royal Benedict: 4/5. I love a good crab cake benedict and this really satisfies that craving! It was perfectly crisp with a runny poached egg. However, I dinged one star for this because the potatoes were extremely salty this time compared to when I had it in the first time. Terrific breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. Really good menu with a lot of difficult choices. Food is amazing; well-cooked (my chicken wasn't dry at all, and the croffle was crisp and soft on the inside; fruit gave it freshness to balance the dish), seasoned perfectly (sometimes, less is more), and neatly put together. Good location, decent decor with the gold-marble look, and great value. To top it off, service was awesome, even with it being crowded too. read more

When we walked in, we weren't that hungry, but we wanted to try a snack. We ordered the chicken croffles. Not only was it super cute to look at, but it was super delicious. I really loved the syrup that it came with because it was so full of flavor. Five of us got seated right away around 9am. They have booster seats and high chairs for little ones. And they even provided our baby with a little dinosaur plate, a spoon, and a fork. Too cute! For drinks, my parents had the ube latte and it's so yummy! It actually tastes like ube which is awesome since often times things claiming to be "ube" don't taste like it all. My husband had a refillable coffee but it took effort to get staff attention to refill it. As for food, the golden ocean carbonara was an Asian take on traditional carbonara and probably my favorite thing I tasted today. It's creamy and a little umami. The shrimps were cooked well too! For the price point, I think a little more noodle would be perfect. We got a side order of the croffle for our baby boy and it was good! Cool texture and not overly sweet. The roti ham and cheese was okay. It's exactly what you think it would be. I did like the sweet potato puffs it came with! I just can't justify $18 for this dish. My mom's mascarpone pancakes were fluffy and soft. The mixed berry sauce is a bit tart so just go easy on it unless you like really tart stuff. read more
