Visited Remi for breakfast today. It was a very nice visit. It was busy, but we were able to get seats at the bar. The atmosphere was busy, but that was not a bad thing for chatting. The renovation was a great update with modern touches, but not over the top. It has tasteful decor with several nice Spokane iconic places. This is a down to earth breakfast and lunch place that just does the standard diner fair well. I got a Benny and my wife got an omelette. I judge every breakfast place by their Benedicts as the hollandaise sauce can be tricky and I can tell when it is from a packet. The egg was poached perfectly with a slightly running center. The ham was sliced thin and the hollandaise was fresh. The sauce could have used a bit more salt and pepper, but I was able to add that. A touch of lemon could have elevated a bit. However, it was a solid Benny. The omelette was great with fresh spinach, mushrooms and cheddar. The rye was toasted perfectly and was a fluffy thick piece. The hashbrowns were nice with a little onion, but prefer them extra crisp (but we probably should have requested that). All considered, Remi is a solid breakfast place with a focus to do a few things well rather than everything mediocre (which is smart). The service was kind, friendly and efficient. I will definitely return. This is a very nice addition to the North Spokane community. read more

Finally found a great breakfast spot in North Spokane! It is super rare to see a tofu breakfast dish around here, and this one was delicious. They also have hot sauces and salsa that go really well on top. I went a little too early to try the black bean burger, but I will definitely be back for lunch to give it a shot. Finally went and tried this place with my husband and it was pretty good. There was about a 15min wait - not bad at all. The service after we were sat was great. The server was so nice and helped answer questions and got us everything we needed. Our table location was right next to the beverage center and kitchen door, which wasn't great. Not sure why you'd even put a table there. I don't care to be right in the middle of employee conversations or to hear/watch them make coffee and get all the drinks for other tables. It just feels like it takes away from the atmosphere a lot. The place does look great though. What they were able to do with an old Sheri's building was impressive. It felt open and the decor was modern and really nice! The food was pretty good, but it wasn't amazing. My husband got the avocado toast without the tomatoes and he said it was alright. We think it would be better if the red onions were pickled. It just adds something extra as opposed to raw onion. He also got some sausage, which was just your average sausage, which means he loved it. I got the chicken fried steak. The flavor of the gravy was really good as was the consistency. I do wish it were sausage gravy though. The chicken fried steak was okay - it was really stringy. Which is abnormal for cube steak, but this seemed to be a lot. One of the pieces I thought had a hair on it (it didn't), because I couldn't get it to break. Also, the breading on it was a bit too greasy and just came off the steak and stuck to the plate. The flavor was good though. The jam that is served with the toast I think must be from a jar. It certainly didn't taste homemade or fresh and it just wasn't good. I did really love the hash browns though! The potatoes were thin shreds, which allowed them to get real crispy without being too greasy. They were my favorite part of the meal. We might try it again, but I don't know that I would wait 15min to eat here or that I am in a huge hurry to get back there. read more

The line was out the door, there were a lot of people waiting in the waiting area inside and more people waiting outside. We had to wait about ten minutes before our table was ready. Looking around there were plenty of tables open for people to be seated , but yet there was still a lot of people waiting. I started with the mimosa flight. The guys had coffee and bloody Mary's. I ordered the Florentine Benny and added shaved ham. The guys all ordered the chicken fried steak either with the biscuit or French toast. The first set of bloody Mary's flavor was a little volutes, but for $5.95 they weren't bad. My mimosa flavors were good, my favorite was the Hawaiian , which had a touch of Malibu. Overall the flavors of the mimosas were good, but I wouldn't say they were worth the $18 price. Our hash browns could have been browned a little more. They were okay. My Florentine Benedict with ham was good. One of my poached egg was well done, and the eggs didn't seem like they were poached. They seemed like they were maybe supposed to be sunny side, which would make sense because everyone else orders sunny side eggs at my table. My tomatoes weren't grilled, they were diced fresh tomatoes. Which was still good but I was looking forward to a grilled tomato. The shaved ham had a good flavor. The chicken fried steak is tough. It is a huge steak and the breading is thick. The French toast was good. Just average French toast. Overall the food was okay . I finished my food, but it wasn't something to rave about or come back for. read more

Great experience and we'll be back to try lunch. Don't let the parking lot fool you. It may look full but the restaurant is large enough to accommodate so many customers. We went there for breakfast and our server Dereck was spot on. Nice menu..enough choices but not overwhelming. Service was excellent and the food came out in record time. The Orange Juice is a must order and the coffee was good too. We took a homemade cinnamon roll (Saturday and Sunday only till gone) to go and are enjoying it this morning! read more

Service was totally awesome. And so was the look of the restaurant. They remodeled an old Shari's and they made it look awesome. Very modern and very clean. I liked the color combo too. The food was very good. We got lemon ricotta pancakes which were divine and chocolate chip pancakes. Their syrup was pretty watery though. The menu was small which was a nice shift from Shari's which would hand you a short novel to read for their menu. I will definitely have to come back for lunch. read more

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times now. We go to breakfast once a week and this is our new favorite spot. They have a diverse menu. The quality is good, the presentation is nice, the quantity is good size. The best part are the staff though. We bring our 3 year old son and they always make him feel special and included. The owner on our second time came out to check on us and noticed we had been in before and thanked us for coming. That doesn't happen anymore, it was nice. The selection of drinks are good also. Their Bloody Mary is our favorite. read more

I hate to be the first to review and have it be so bad ‍ My mom ordered the avocado toast and it was a major disappointment. It was one small slice of toast with the thinnest smear of avocado and a pile of raw onion plopped in the middle. She said the flavor was ok but very little food for 12.50. The menu also says 'eggs' but there's only one. I got the chicken fried steak and a lemon cloud pancake to share with my son. Not very much gravy, great flavor on breading but the steak was WAY too thick and chewy. It was difficult to cut and even harder to chew. Potatoes were good but very bland. One small piece of toast. The pancake is described as if it's something exquisite. It's not. It's an average diner pancake with lemon flavoring. The fresh berries were nice. The coffee was $4 a cup and was very bitter and yucky. Thankfully she took the chicken fried steak off of the bill, really appreciated it. Place was packed, I hope they don't blow it! Service was really fast and friendly and the owners did a good job renovating. Sadly, it's overpriced for diner food and the execution was sub par. $60 for 2 half portions of bennys and 2 (very good, but weak) bloody marys, including tip. There were big chunks of eggshell in my portion and both our eggs were very underpoached (about half the whites were clear). My "steak" was very chewy and it was obviously a cheap-chopped cut. If the kitchen would slow down, pay more attention and use better ingredients, it could be much better. Also, the bathroom floor was nasty. read more

Everything went well. The remodel is pleasant and has a upscale feel but not overdone. Wait staff exceptional. Prices seemed in line with breakfast specialty places in town. Good was excellent and portions were equal to what we saw a decade ago. In other words I could hardly finish my omelet. In some other establishments the new portion is about half the size. Not here. This review is based on a ONE TIME experience so keep that in mind. If it weren't so darn crowded I'd go once per week. read more

Super service good food and huge (IMO) portions. They were pretty busy when we got there but were quickly seated in a booth. It's very nice and clean inside both esthetic and physically. It was pretty noisy but it could have been the location of our secluded (?) booth. Friendly, quick service from Sarah, coffee to start and orders placed for French toast with a side of hash browns and the Remi Benedict. As I said the portions seemed large and could be shared as there aren't any half portions available. The hashbrowns were perfect shaved potatoes as well as the ham in the Benedict, they make their own Hollindaise and you can taste the slight lemon flavor of a well made sauce. Big slices of French Toast and plenty of butter/syrup or jam. Prices seemed average and parking was good. Temps in the dining room were comfortable but the restroom was chilly like a refrigerator. A new restaurant up north in Spokane is an exciting thing but at unfortunately their breakfast left us lacking. First and foremost the staff is incredibly friendly and it's a very clean restaurant with a modern look. We went here for breakfast one morning and order the avocado toast, and the biscuits and gravy. We really would like this place to work out but unfortunately, this was not a hint. Their coffee is good however. It's definitely not bad but with many other breakfast places around them providing a better meal for the same price at the moment, it's hard to go back. read more

Service was great. Ordered the Country Fried Steak. It was watery and bland. All the coating flaked off and was almost unchewable.

This was definitely not a "remarkable" experience. I wanted to love it but left disappointed. Everything looked amazing but was not. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast...eggs were perfect, hash-browns were cooked well (very crispy) but tasted like old oil, the steak was also cooked well but the meat itself was tough, chewy and had the same overpowering taste of old oil and it was topped liberally with a thick pasty gravy that tasted a lot like raw flour and pepper, the biscuit was soft but if you want it add $2.99 to the $18.95 you're already paying. Husband had the western burger ordered well done-no pink....you guessed it...served very rare on blood soaked bun. It looked very tasty and bun looked house made, maybe not but definitely not mass produced. He couldn't eat it and they did end up taking it off the bill. My mom had an omelette and she loved it. Place was very crowded and had to wait a very long time to be seated. Definitely not worth the time spent waiting or the money spent. Staff were friendly, working quickly and efficiently but didn't interact appropriately with patrons; we were not asked once how the experience was going....I had to let our server know as we were preparing to leave...mind you she had already removed the uneaten burger plate without checking to see if there was an issue or if the food was good. We arrived a bit before 9 and were seated immediately. The owner has done a fabulous job of erasing the Shari's feel of the building and creating something fresh and inviting. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. Food arrived quickly. I order the avocado toast and I wish I had gotten a photo before I dug in, but it just looked too good to wait, and it was... so tasty! My spouse had sausage and eggs and said the sausage was great. It's hard to find something negative to say. The only slightly annoying things: they didn't have plain green tea, just a lemon green tea; my spouse really likes marmalade with his toast... no marmalade, but they did have a wonderful strawberry jam that was surely homemade. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. On the way out, my spouse said breakfast at D#nn¥'s would have cost just as much and not been worth the calories. Our timing must have been perfect because when we left there were lots of people waiting for a table. We will be back. Can't wait to try lunch! read more

I visited Remi's today (second visit). I enjoyed the clean restaurant! It is a very noisy atmosphere, hard to visit. The first visit was just ok, so thought I'd give it a second try. second try horrible. I ordered the salad with oranges, cranberries, onions etc. the lettuce was old, black, slimy, should not have been served. I did mention to server and he agreed. Will I be back??? Hate to see this when a new business is starting up. read more

Our group of 4 had a tremendous mid morning breakfast at Remi's Cafe! The staff was very warm and attentive. The remodeled surroundings were light and clean. The best part was the delicious food!! My veggie omelette was packed with veggies and cheese - no skimping here. It came with a great fruit cup. My husband adored his chicken and waffles - moist chicken and flavorful batter. One of my favorites was the enormous blueberry pancakes that our friend shared with us! It was amazing. Remi's is becoming very well known. I heard people raving about the chicken fried steak at STCU later in the day. My daughter and her friends (upper 20's) love it too! It has appeared on social media sites. When visiting a newly opened non-chain restaurant, one should expect some startup glitches. We didn't experience any of that as the staff seemed well trained within a smoothly running operation. Also it's probably one of a few breakfast cafes with a bar for your early morning Bloody Mary. Sounds good, right? The somewhat pricey food is average at best - with an overload of hash browns at breakfast to simply fill you up. Worst, though, is the noise level. Like a fish-house where everyone's voice, laughter and shouting bounces off all the hard surfaces resulting in louder screaming to be heard. If only for that, we won't return. read more

This restaurant could use some accuracy from their servers... and their food! When ordering, we asked server if the toast was "buttered" when served... she said yes, they do butter the toast! Don't believe it in any way... they drizzled a tiny line of some type of oil on the toast... barely noticeable... and butter is not oil! Asked for honey to flavor the toast... server never brought any honey. One of our party asked for onions and cheese on hashbrowns... they must have added at least a half a cup of onions... and only a few flakes of cheese... about enough to cover a nickel. I think they thought there fresh orange juice was to be valued like starbuckets does their drinks... $7 per glass! Chicken fried steaks were flavorless... just as the gravy, that tasted like it was poured out of a can?! Over medium eggs were never turned over... and the whites of the eggs were a bit runny. The wait time for food was horrible. I would rather eat at IHOP. And our server never filled up our water glasses. Sad food and services for a $50 meal. read more

Looks like they have a great start lots of traffic typical of a new business. We have eaten there twice both times disappointing. Yesterday my wife had a waffle nothing wrong just a little expensive and very pedestrian. I had a farm omlette meat grease dripping from the meat puddled on my plate. We finally visited today after Church. It was crowded. They told us 15 to 20 minute wait. It was 30 minutes before we were seated. Had to ask the waitress for coffee, as she never asked what we wanted to drink. Food was good. My wife ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy with bacon. Sausage gravy was too peppery for me. Got our order, she did not get he bacon, instead got sausage links. Had to ask for the bacon. I ordered a normal breakfast, sausage, eggs over medium and hash browns and toast. Only jelly they offer was strawberry, don't care for that. Eggs were over easy and runny. Toast was cold. Had to get waitresses attention to get a refill on the coffee. Overall, not that impressed.
