Little Germany stresses the importance of customer service on their webpage, however this is a farce. I took my VW Beetle in on Monday the 16th of February to have some work done on it. There was a coolant leak, temperature gauge was off, and some elements around the heating core needed to be replaced. A man named Chris told us that he was NOT confident in his ability to work on my car without further damaging the heating core which he said would cost ME another $2000. I explained very simply if you break it, you buy it, and it should not be the customer's responsibility to pay for something that they, as a company, had broken. Chris told me word for word "I don't want to be responsible for the part if I break it." This is why I am having to pick up my car without a single problem having been fixed and take it elsewhere to have it serviced. Little Germany needs to learn to take responsibility for their actions. I am shocked at how unprofessional they were through this entire situation. I hope this saves others the trouble and hassle that I had to go through. EDIT: Apparently when Little Germany did their diagnostic they completely forgot to mention at least three more things that needed repair on my car. Thank goodness I took my care elsewhere. read more

1. Had the thermostat replaced in my car. Still leaking so I went back and he said it was the water pump. No big deal. When I got the quote it says "thermostat - $393.00"! Uhh you just replaced it two weeks ago. He says "no we didn't". Checks paperwork and says oh yeah, let me take that off there. 2. Go to get headlight replaced. He quotes is "at around 90 bucks". Go in and they take my car and 30 minutes later he brings it back. I go to pay and it's $217. WTF you said ~$90? He says oh wait, I'll reduce the labor for you. 3. Take my SUV in for some estimates. When I get the car back, there are pieces missing from under the hood. Some venting and cowlings. He said "that was missing when it came in, here is the quote for those pieces". Uhhh no it wasn't. Later on, while doing some maintenance myself, I found those pieces down inside the fender well of my SUV. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN! TYPICAL SCAMMING GARAGE!! read more

Chris and his professional staff turned a horrible situation into a positive experience. My wife, 3 1/2 yr old son and I were traveling from Oregon to New Orleans when our check engine light and limp mode notification came on in our x5. We found Little Germany after being turned away by the local dealership on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, telling us it would be Tuesday before they could even look at our vehicle. I took our 2005 Volkswagen Jetta in to have the inner and outer CV boots replaced, the lower control arm bushings replaced, and the upper strut mounts replaced. All work was done in accordance with the price estimate and the quality was excellent. Also, the cost was less than competing repair shops in the area. read more

My dashboard was rattling and the shop at the dealership charged $450 to replace a strut -- but the rattle was no better. I took my car to Little Germany and learned the rattle was a loose part. $53.00 later I was on my way -- no more rattle! One of my friends swears by the shop and now I do too. read more

A buddy of mine has been taking his BMW there for a while now and when the A/C in my wife's Jag stopped working, he suggested I take it over. What a great recommendation. Chris was honest and willing to help. While Jags are not there thing, they were able to fix the problem for half what another place quoted my wife and in the same day. I don't know if they can do everything on a Jag but if something goes wrong on it, I know they will get first crack at it. Recently moved from out East to the Tucson area. I recently had an engine cooling issue a little while back. Took it to a shop in the area that charged me for parts and labor, didn't fix the car then proceeded to tell me the car is normal and I should just drive it. Unbelievable how idiotic some shops are. Anyway, I had heard about Little Germany and called them up. Chris was a straight shooter and very pleasant to talk to. Brought my car in and he was able to fix my problem and get me on the road again. Very professional and honest people. Chris is the man! Got a referral from a good friend about Chris' work and he did not disappoint. My BMWs passenger fog light had come out of place within the bumper and the clips were not intact anymore. Having recently gotten my car pinted last month and my bumper replaced no more than 6 months ago, a new bumper would have been so expensive just for a fog light mount. Instead, Chris saved me the hassle by mounting my fog light back into the bumper from the back side of it. Looked like nothing was damaged in the first place when he was done fixing it! Saved me from having to get a new bumper and the hassel of having to leave my car in the shop. Got done within an hour! Getting my car repaired at Little Germany couldn't have been simpler. It took about 30 minutes and was very reasonably priced. When a "Service Engine Soon" light interrupted a road trip just before New Year's, and one shop balked at even looking at the car while another just didn't have time for us for another several days, Chris and team were happy to help us out, for which we will be forever grateful. (The issue turned out to be a misfire in cylinder 5 due to a failing ignition coil.) After having bad luck at another shop here in town (see my other review), I found Little Germany a little over a year ago. I just got back today from having basic service done on my car, and it reminded me that I should write this review because the customer service at Little Germany is exceptional. Chris is honest and straightforward, and I have never felt like he is trying to upcharge me. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. My only (minor) suggestion would be to have roundtrip shuttle service to/from the shop, instead of one-way. But I appreciate even the one-way ride, as I am usually able to find my way back without too much trouble. I highly recommend Little Germany. read more

About two weeks before taking the X5 to Little Germany and, after a day of use, we found a great deal of smoke coming from the exhaust. Concerned that it might be a head gasket, we had the X5 trucked to Independent BMW service in Tucson. They had the X5 for a week and could not diagnose the problem, although they were able to recreate the problem. I cautiously picked up the car and drove it home. I then read the forum articles and also had a local service provider do a different head gasket test. This test proved negative. They said they would be unable to determine the problem. I then called Little Germany. Over the phone, Chris, Little Germany's service manager, told me that he thought he knew exactly what the problem was. Sure, I thought. Worried that the EPA would come after me, the X5 was smoking so much, I drove it to Little Germany. While there, Chris told me exactly what he thought was the problem and approximately what the charges would be to replace the parts. He felt that the crank case ventilation system was to blame. On the second day , Chris called indicating that yes, it was a combination of crank case ventilation components that were causing the problem and the X5 was finished. The bill was exactly what he told me it would be. The X5 is now running perfectly. When I picked up the X5, I left my Z4 for a oil and filter change. That service was completed the next day and a very fair price especially when compared to BMW of Tucson. A very professional European Car repair business. read more

Chris helps us stay on track with all of our scheduled maintenance and he is very sympathetic when the problem with my car is more than I am prepared for. Took my Volkswagen Golf here to get an air conditioning problem diagnosed and left dissapointed. Made an appointment a few days in advance and left my car there early in the morning. Waited for a call all day and finally called them myself around 2:30 (they close at 5:30). They told me thay hadn't even looked at it yet. They said they'd call me back but didn't. I finally called back at 5:00 and they were doing some tests that they had already done on previously failed attampt at fixing the problem. I told them forget it and I went and picked up my car. When I left the car there in the morning, I had left a very detailed note, which they didn't pay much attention to. I was vary dissapointed with this place. I had high hopes. The guys there are very friendly and informative. They obviously know their stuff, but I was very frustrated with the way they are running things there. I will not go back, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

....A few weeks ago, I brought my vintage 30- year old Volvo 740 wagon into Little Germany with a severe rear back-signals problem (I had little or no turn signals and more importantly no brake lights either... ....After first talking to Chris I was led to believe it was a "simple" problem that they could fix in 2 hours time for a $120.00 labor charge ....I left it on a Monday morning and they kept it until just before closing time on Friday that same week..Little Germany seems to have "Bankers Hours, in that they only work 5 days a week and I needed my car to drive myself back and forth to work...Just before closing on that Friday Chris called to tell me that the rear lights were fixed and the original $120.00 labor charge was all I had to pay..They even sent an assistant over to drive me back to the shop to pick up my car...the rear lights seemed to be working fine...so I wrote up 5 star review for them...except that my brake and turn -signal lights shorted out on me less than a week later....when I was finally able to bring back my car to complain about having no brake lights again, they were about to close shop for the weekend, some mechanic did a fast repair job to get my brakes working again (probably inserted a new fuse) and the receptionist told me they'd check my car out next week starting at $60 (for 1st hour) but that I's better make a reservation since they had a busy week ahead,,,,I told her I'd "think about it", drove off and didn't even make it home when I lost my brake lights again...on the advise of a friend I took it to a mechanic really know how to fix older 240/740 Volvos the next day...He solved the problem- bare wires blowing fuses- and had it fixed in less than an hour, and only charged me $40 for a simple minor problem that Little Germany was unable to fix after 5 days at their shop ..so much for my 5 star rating for that $120 "bargain" Chris offered me..I only wish now I had waited a few days before rating their service.... read more

I am disappointed to see such low reviews of this place. I have known Chris for a few years, after bringing in my Saab quite a few times (PS, don't ever buy a Saab). When I say quite a few times, it was at least once a month. Chris always showed me the highest respect, and the ladies at the front were delightful to deal with. They often went above my expectations and did a few things for no charge. They also had excellent pricing, the lowest for a Euro shop in town. While I don't have my Saab anymore (thank God!), I still think of Chris and the great shop they have. Try them out, I put my word on it. read more

These people are the greatest. I am from out of town and while in Tucson, my car died. In the process of towing my Volvo to Little Germany for repairs, the towing company damaged my car. Chris repaired my car at a very reasonable price and he helped me wind my way through the maze of getting the towing company to pay for the damage to my car. Not only did he get an estimate of cost, he called the towing company office to make sure I was taken care of and told me that "if there was anything he could do to help, he would do it." I cannot thank Chris and his team enough for the help they gave me. It is the FIRST TIME I have ever felt comfortable with an auto repair shop. i took an older Volvo v70 there with a known throttle body problem. they kept my car for two weeks doing crap they didn't need to do. fuel injectors,coils, then eventually change the throttle body. after talking to Chris ("Mr used car salesman") over the phone i got a sinking feeling. he started spewing a lot of bs as if i knew nothing about cars when i called him on it he got upset and argumentative . i knew then i had to get my car out of there and it was going to cost me.1600.00 later when picking my car up i noticed they broke my hood latch and in its place were a pair of vice grip pliers. when i asked Chris about it he says i brought it in like that, which further insulted my intelligence after threatening with going to small claims he calls me to say he will replace it. be careful when taking your car there. they will bury u if they feel they can. read more
