Organized an afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. Went in a few days early to explain the special occasion and can we reserve a booth? No promises, given how small and busy the place is, but when we went in, the round booth was ready for us. I got the afternoon tea, and it was just right -- fresh pastries and finger sandwiches, a nice serving with all the touches. The others in my party ordered brunchy items. Everything was great, and it felt special for our special occasion. Service was excellent. Guidance during ordering was just right. The floral interior is girly and pretty, like sitting in a garden when it was dark and stormy outside. Had a great time, and we left very happy and satisfied. Afternoon tea review: No matter how old you are, you always have time to doll up and catch up with the girls over afternoon tea. That's what we did one tarde de domingo when it was still chilly outside. My cleverly named White Wedding was a sip of comfort that would have made Mr. Idol himself smile. Our tasty sandwiches were generously portioned and filled, with my favorites being the Tuna Salad and Smoked Salmon Rillette (complete with marbled bread!). Even the scones were softer, tastier and....butter-ier?....than many I've had elsewhere in the city. The least impressive part of our spread was actually the desserts. We got a couple of commonly flavored macarons, an Italian rainbow cookie and dark chocolate truffle (both identically sized). No creativity--the definition of phoning it in. Very picturesque spot with the wisteria from the store front to the floral and vintage themed interior decor. My friends and I dressed up for this brunch. Drinks were good. Selections of the food items were not different from regular brunch. Would come back to try their high tea sets. We reserved for the 3pm time slot and came about 10 minutes early and still have to wait 20-30 minutes for the table to be ready. While waiting, there was table already set up but the staff did not call any customers to the table, we saw that guests from another table go to that clean table and staff did not say anything. OMG, what can I say about Little Hen? Just get dressed and go! We had such a wonderful time. The ambiance was beautiful, cozy, and absolutely adorable. The service was great, and the entire experience felt so special from start to finish. The food was delicious, and we had the best time being girls drinking tea, enjoying scones, and catching up. Mocktails: Blueberry mule and Hibiscus Raspberry ($10 each). Both were good and they had fresh fruit on the drinks Brunch: We got two things to share - - French Toast: Bourbon Batter ($24) was topped with a few pieces of berries, caramelized pears and bacon. Toast was soft and tasted good with the vanilla sauce but felt like there was a bit too much bourbon personalluy as I don't drink that often. - Sammies: LH Club Sandwich ($21) served with french fries. Chicken was juicy and tender and the boiled egg was just right. Great sandwich and yummy skinny fries. The bread seemed to be some sort of whole grain or seeded bread that made it seem healthy but still delicious. Btw, you can get half a stuffed hash brown instead of the fries. Do it! Scones Basket & Clotted Cream (8.5/10) - These hot and toasty scones were the star of our meal. Rose Petal Pancakes (6/10) - I am not a pancake fan in general, but I have had airy and fluffy versions before. This was not one of them. Rose syrup does give you the flavor it promised. Stuffed Hash Brown (8/10) - Slightly salty, but the two different cheeses they stuffed into the potato crust made the hash brown quite unique and yummy. First & foremost, a special shout out to our waitress Roberta who was easily one of the best waitresses I've had. She was clearly really busy as it was a Saturday & Little Hen is popular but she still made time for us & was very kind without being overbearing. She also helped us with our one too many questions about the menu haha. Here's what we ordered- Chilaquiles- really good & it really did remind me of the ones I've had in Mexico City (which is where our waitress is from & recommended). I also loved both the green & the red sauces equally- typically I tend to favor the red sauce haha. Chicken & waffles- honestly I've had better but these weren't bad. Eggs Benedict- a classic & Little Hen definitely did a great job with it as well, love that hollandaise sauce! This spot is so cute !! I met a friend here for afternoon tea. There's a lot of floral decorations, including fresh flowers on every table. We made a reservation, so we expected to be seated when we arrived, but we had to wait over half an hour longer to even get an update about a table. Not sure why it took so long to be seated despite having a reservation... what's the point of making a reservation then? The afternoon tea service comes with a pot of tea per person, and a shared tea tower with finger sandwiches, scones, and dessert. The tea was okay. I didn't like any of the desserts - they all just tasted like pure sugar (no flavor, just sugar) and had weird artificial after tastes. The scones were good but the clotted cream they provided wasn't really clotted cream: it was more like whipped cream. The lemon curd and strawberry sauce were both too sweet. The sandwiches were hit or miss. The fillings were good, but some of the bread tasted stale. Even though this spot is super cute, I don't know if I'll be back due to the lack of respect for reservation times and the low quality of most of the food. At least the pot of tea was good! Looking to have a more "shabby chic" kind of brunch in NYC, yelp search brought us a number of options, but the daintiness of Little Hen sure attracted Wifey for a "just you & me" experience. My friends had the steak and eggs while I had the crab cake eggs benedict. A set of crispy crab cakes and a beautifully runny egg - it was picturesque and yummy. They also offer a tea time service where you order tea along with a snack tower including an assortment of macaroons, scones, and finger sandwiches. Though the flavors of the available sandwiches weren't my favorite, I still enjoyed the macaroons and scones. The tea was a sweet touch. They take reservations over Resy and the price was right at $38 per person. We arrived a few minutes late, but there was no problem at all. We had a cute booth table for 6. Their $38 afternoon tea features an assortment of tea sandwiches (5 different sandwiches), an assortment of scones (blueberry, orange, and cranberry), and macarons and chocolate truffles. You also get your own pot of tea. I've had several different afternoon tea's in the city and this was one of the best. The sandwiches were tasty. I loved the cranberry chicken salad the best. I came here with a friend for the $38 afternoon tea service, which was very reasonably priced. This was only offered in the late afternoon and reservations need to be made several weeks in advance. The interior was gorgeous, elegant, and classy with colorful flower arrangements, pretty hanging lights, calming blue and gold color scheme. The space was limited though, and felt pretty cramped. For the tea, my friend and I selected White Wedding and Corazon de Cien Fuegos. I preferred the White Wedding, which consisted of white tea, jasmine, lavender, rose petals, and orange. The tea was light and fragrant. Corazon de Cien Fuegos was a herbal tea, with hibiscus, lemongrass, rose petals, along with lavender and cinnamon. This one was stronger, more bold in flavor, with much more tartness and acidity. In total, 4 different kind of sandwiches, including Cranberry Chicken Salad, Egg Salad, Tuna Salad, Cucumber Dill & Smoked Salmon Rillette. The Chicken Salad was my favorite. It was well seasoned and flavorful. The Egg Salad and Tuna Salad were also tasty. I didn't really try the Cucumber and Salmon one, because I am not a fan or uncooked fish. Scones came with clotted cream, strawberry compote, as well as lemon curd. The Scones were enjoyable, soft, slightly crisp and were even better with the clotted cream and toppings. There were also Macarons and Chocolate Truffles. Macarons were decent with a nice chewiness to them. Truffles were mouthwatering, rich bites. Service was pretty good. I have been seeing this cute afternoon tea place on my social media and knew that I wanted to come here. I decided to choose this place for my Bridesmaid proposal location - they were super nice and let me sit down first so that I can place all the boxes on the tables before my other guest arrived. Be aware that they do not allow additional decor or balloons at this place - but I do not think that you need it since the place itself is super cute and aesthetic and girly. They do have regular brunch food options but they do have afternoon tea service for $38 per person (slightly more if you want alcohol). We decided to go with the afternoon tea option and they actually let each guest choose a tea if that is what you want which I thought was different since most places only let you get one or two tea option per table depending on how many guest you have. It comes with a variety of sandwiches, scones and then macarons on top. Everything was really tasty and it was definitely more than enough food for everyone - we were super full and did not end up finishing up all the food. I actually liked this place for high tea since they had more savory options than sweet and usually I find that sweets at afternoon teas tend to be too sweet for me (however if you do really like desserts / pastries at afternoon tea then this might not be the one for you). I called the restaurant several times to change my reservation due to not feeling well. No one answered! We ended up going and I made sure that I told them that we were here. We just came later than our original reservation time. I was ASSURED there would be no charge. Now I am back in California and there is a $50 no-show charge on my bank account. Came here for afternoon with my girlfriends on a Friday afternoon. The store front is beautiful with wisterias (fake ones) hanging along the window and the inside is just as pretty with real florals throughout the restaurant. We were a party of 6 and because of allergy reasons, 4 of us ordered their afternoon tea set which included 5 finger sandwiches, 2 scones, an assortment of macarons and a choice of tea. Their finger sandwiches were good. It's not anything fancy but they were solid. Their breads were soft and pillowy and I especially liked their cranberry chicken salad which had chunks of chicken with a hint of sweetness from the cranberries. Their scones were also very buttery and flaky. We were given cranberry and apricot scones in which both were very good without it being too sweet. They were paired with strawberry jam, lemon curd and "clotted cream". The lemon curd was very good. Not too sour and balanced well with the sweetness from the scones. The only thing I had to complain about is the clotted cream was more like whipped cream then actual clotted cream. As for the dessert, it's really not what I was hoping for not realized it's the norm for most places in the city. I was really hoping for real desserts, like a small tartlets or cakes but instead, we were given macarons and chocolates. The macarons were however good. The shell was chewy and it wasn't overly sweet. This was expected for the price point so there's nothing to complain about. In fact, some other places in the city charge more for their tea set and we were still only given macarons for desserts. I really wanted to order the milk oolong tea but they were unavailable so I opted for the Queen's guard and I really enjoyed it. It had the bold black tea flavors with a subtle hint of florals and it is indeed a perfect tea when you're surrounded by florals. One thing to note is they do not let you change your tea to coffee so one of my friend had to order a separate order of coffee to get her coffee fix. Another thing to note is when I tried to book for the afternoon tea on Resy, it said afternoon tea starts at 3pm. Apparently, they offered afternoon tea all day so you can make a reservation for 1pm and the tea set would be available. Overall, this is a great place for a girls get together. Very instagrammable as it's very beautiful inside and the food did not disappointment. Super instagrammable brunch spot that is just oh so cute. All the details and presentation are on point and on brand. The place is quite small and I definitely recommend reservations. Given how busy it was on a Saturday morning (I grabbed the first reservation time at 9:30 am) they didn't at all rush us to leave our table and let us continue chatting for a while after we had finished eating, only brining the bill when we asked them to. I appreciate how the menu has a wide range of options, from sweet to savory, from healthy to less-so. I opted to try the rose latte because why not, and actually quite enjoyed it. It didn't taste like drinking perfume, which I thought it might. The rose flavor was subtle but there. I opted for an omelet that was beautifully presented and totally satisfying. I came here for afternoon tea for my friend's birthday. I made the reservation on Resy. The timing was really late though, they only had 4-5:30pm on the weekends for afternoon tea. Also, the place was a bit cramped with the tables really close to each other unless you have a group (4+ people) for a booth. Other than that, I had a good experience. The scones were warm, not dry, and really fresh compared to other afternoon tea places. The sweets were a bit boring but the tea sandwiches were pretty good. We had the White Wedding and The Queen's Guard teas which were very floral and tasted great. Service was friendly and fast. Went with a group to celebrate my birthday. We had reservations for 4:30 on a Saturday. They were just getting our table ready when we arrived -- got a booth which was right by the kitchen entrance. We all decided to have the afternoon tea special for $38 per person. I had the Little Hen House tea which was fresh mint and lemon slices. I barely tasted any mint, but didn't make a fuss. Our server had asked if we were there for any special occasion and my sister pointed to me and said it was for my birthday. She came back with a long stem rose for me. Our food came and she explained the different sandwiches and macaron flavors. She also recommended we eat the scones while they were warm. They were so fresh and not dense. I really enjoyed them (2 per person). As for the sandwiches, I felt the bread was a little dry. Maybe they were made earlier in the day and we were the last seating. I ate them all since I was hungry. I skipped the sweets due to health reasons, but then they came with a chocolate mousse and lit candle to sing me Happy Birthday. That was very nice, so I had a little and shared with the others. On our way out, I said good bye to the hostess and she told us to wait and handed each of us a long stem rose. I came here with a friend to catch up specifically for the tea set ($38) which is a steal! We both got our own teapots which was nice. The tea set seemed about on par as others I've had taste-wise. The scones were my favorite but some of the bread was stale/dry so I wasn't a huge fan of that. The salmon and tuna were strong on the fish flavors so if you're not too fond of them, you probably won't like those ones. The mini macarons were okay. Overall the atmosphere was a little loud but very aesthetic! Staff was also super friendly. read more

This restaurant has the tea party for adults vibe. It's very pink, pretty and floral. There were a few tables celebrating birthdays. My friends and I came here for the brunch and to catch up.
