The boneless skinless chicken breast is coated with flour and cornmeal which gives a great crisply coating when fried! I drenched it in honey and it was excellent! We were actually supposed to be in Maine, and those blueberry pancakes, which we shared, took us there!! We checked in just a few minutes late, but weren't seated until about 1:55-2:00, which felt like a long wait given the circumstances. We were really excited to try this place as NYC natives. My husband ordered the spinach and cheese omelette (subbed fries for home fries) with a side of fried chicken, and I ordered the banana walnut pancakes. Unfortunately, my pancakes arrived with a long black hair sitting right on top (I'm blonde, so it clearly wasn't mine). When I pointed it out, the waitress said she would remake it but didn't apologize at all, which was disappointing and honestly off-putting. To make matters worse, at the end of the meal we asked to purchase the hot sauce we enjoyed. It was handed to us in a plain white paper bag, and when we checked it later at home, it wasn't even sealed--it was clearly an already opened, partially used bottle from the kitchen. Selling an unsealed, used product for $12 is unacceptable and pretty gross. It also looked nothing like what's shown online. Absolutely loved the blueberry pancakes! Some of my all-time favorites! With that said, I, personally, would prefer regular maple syrup as opposed to the maple butter. Still great, though! The place is very cute. I was surprised at how small it was, so I now understand why so many people say it can be quite difficult to get a reservation. Pancakes galore!!!! I came here because I saw it was their pancake month and thought I must try! I had the speciality Maple Bourbon Pecan Pancakes and they were delicious and honestly you can share a stack with a friend because they are fluffy and filling. I didn't need to add the syrup as they were already sweet. The fried tomatoes are also tasty along with the sauce it comes with. The egg and cheddar were also great. Service was good however it did take over 45 min to get the food ... however it was explained it was due to the pancakes... very busy spot though so def suggest making reservations. read more

First things first - the food here is delicious. However, the service we received while we were here was horrendous. We arrived on a Tuesday at 10:06am. It was completely packed. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, which was fine with us, so we put our name on the waiting list. I received a text at 10:20am that our table was ready. That was a nice surprise since we had only been waiting about 15 mins. We were sat, ordered two coffees. Those came quickly from the busboy. We then ordered breakfast with our waiter who wasn't particularly friendly, which was fine because he was extremely busy. We didn't get our food until 11:12am. Almost an hour later! The waiter came by after we had been waiting for our food for a while and said it would be out "shortly." It didn't come for a while after that. Our waiter did bring us a free biscuit with butter and jam, which was nice. Other people who were seated well after us, ordered, ate, and left before we even got our food. It was awful. Now the food. It was so good. I ordered the chicken and waffle. My husband ordered the banana walnut pancakes. And we got a side of smoked bacon. The chicken and waffle was sooooo good. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The waffle wasn't too sweet. The maple sauce that comes with it tasted like straight melted toffee. It was delicious. The portion was huge. I couldn't even get close to finishing it. My husband loved the pancakes. They were huge and super fluffy. The smoked bacon was really good too. Cooked perfectly and just the right amount of saltiness. All and all, the food was really good, but the service left a lot to be desired. You can tell this place is super popular. Got here, saw people eating outside from their takeout but no line for the restaurant. Walked in and saw people waiting but not a lot of people. Was greeted by the hostess and we were told it was a two and a half hour wait. Due to having plans, we couldn't wait. The inside was roomier than I thought. It's an open space with a bar. We ordered at the take out window located outside. Prior to placing the order, we asked how long and were told 15 mins. We ordered the pancakes (plain), buttermilk biscuit sandwich and chicken and waffles. We got to our next destination and ate it. I was so excited about the pancakes however I was disappointed. I didn't like them. I waited to but they were dry. The taste resembled a biscuit flavor. I ate two bites and put them aside and said I would eat them later. That didn't happen, I ended up trashing them. 2 out of 10 The biscuit sandwich - I enjoyed everything except the biscuit. The biscuit was dry as well. 5 out of 10. Chicken and waffles - chicken had a lot of breading and the waffles were great. 7 out of 10. It doesn't live up to the Instagram hype. read more
