I give the service 2 and the food 4. It wasn't busy at all. We waited a long time to be seated (there was no one else waiting), then waited a long time for our drink orders. We ordered salads, minestrone, calamari and ravioli appetizer, Eggplant Parmesean, Veal Cremora, and cannoli. There was a party of 10 college kids seated well after us who were ordering before we were and who seemed to be the only people the wait staff were concerned with. Our waitress could never seem to get away from our table fast enough, while lingering and visiting with other tables. She brought all our food out within the space of 10 minutes. We has soup, salad, appetizers and main dishes all on the table at the same time. Very poor service all around. The food was very good. The salad was fresh but needed to be cut up some more. The minestrone was very good. The eggplant was great and the Veal cremora was excellent with two sizable pieces of veal and big slices of sautéed mushrooms. The cannoli wasn't what I expected and was too sweet for my taste but that wasn't their fault. Absolutely some of the best Italian cuisine in West Texas. Very quaint. Great service. Their bread is so fresh. The aroma of their hand made bread joined with a garlic pepper butter dip is wonderful food memories in the making. Their signature marinara sauce is a balanced flavor with just the right amount of Italian herbs added. The main menu items are very reasonably priced for the items and services. The food was good. The expectations overall were not met. We had a small group of 8 that meet for dinner. This was my first time at this restaurant and I was excited to try it. Six of us got our food. One person got half of their order with the group, but didn't get the rest until the end of the meal. One didn't even get his order until the rest of the group were done and the dishes were being cleared. When we asked for a refill on tea we were served tea with no ice. I hate that the food was good but the service wasn't. I would like to try this place again, but not sure I want the same experience. read more

Food was great (I got the baked sampler) however service was not awesome. The waiter clearly had a hard time remembering our order and asked us at least 4 time what we wanted. I appreciate them wanting their servers to no write down the order but if their server is going to check our order 4 times with us before he leaves and still get it wrong then they might as well just let them have a notepad. I should note too that it was just me, my husband and our son so it's not like he had a big party. I would say I would give it another try.. read more

Sad, this place was the bomb years ago, if you like to gamble, you will like this place, hit and miss. Sometimes its awesome, other times it pitiful. It seems to be more miss that usual. We have been going for years and now we have second thoughts. Hate to say Olive Garden is the same every time and I really don't like OG. They need a good restaurant manager to run the front and back. High turn over rate on servers show that the cooks are dead beats and don't care of their food. Servers get the back lash for sloppy and lazy so called cooks. Yes, they make awesome sauce, that is what is keeping the door open. I will try again few weeks, if it is the same slop, we are out. As you can tell by my name, I'm as Italian as it gets. I grew up an hour from NYC so compared to that, ehhh i'd say the food is good. Not bad but not great. The servers are very unintelligent and annoying. The ambience is nice but there's just something missing.The owners are not Italian but I'm glad they brought a little bit of Italy to Abilene. Had the opportunity to try out Little Italy again, as a friend offered us a gift card. Definitely a better experience than the last! We were seated right when we arrived. The bread was hot and very garlicy (which we like) - a complete opposite from our first visit. We split the Italian Sampler appetizer (fried ravioli, cheeses ticks, and garlic cheese bread). The fried ravioli was good. Cheese sticks were okay - the breading on those is really thick and not super crunchy (just not my preference). Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the garlic cheese bread. I guess I was just surprised when it arrived (not what I expected) - french bread with melted cheese and 2 raw tomatoes - just not my thing. My husband and I split the cheese pizza (we added Italian sausage and pepperoni). Very please with the pizza - I'm a huge crust person and I thought the crust was good. Overall a better experience than last time, although I still think there are some areas they need to improve. read more

I ate the chicken Parmesan and it was delicious! perfectly cooked bread is served with every meal with butter dipping sauce that just melts in your mouth! It is for sure the best Italian food I've had in Abilene. Better than the chains read more

Little Italy is pretty good Italian food. I usually get the Manicotti or Spaghetti. Their fresh bread and dipping sauce is very good. The atmosphere is nice. I think they need to revamp their menu. It's been the same for a long time. read more

First of all, we need Little Italy in Abilene, so GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS, so they can improve. I've now been here twice and both times was happy with the food, but not blown away. The Chicken Diablo was pretty good. Service was decent, but the only thing I can really rave about was the bread and olive oil. I'd rather go here than one of the chain Italian food places in town, any day, but there are certainly improvements to be had. If I were to break down the whole experience Little Italy might be closer to 4 stars on food, alone, but they could create a better overall vibe with a remodel. The decor, seating and layout are the exact same as it was 15 years ago when it was a completely different restaurant. Also, while the service was fast and friendly, our waitress could have used a lesson in presentation and communication. She seemed very unsure of herself. Not a big deal, but Little Italy seems to want to be a nice Italian place, and fancy restaurants need confident, informed waitstaff. Mostly, though, the ambiance needs a major facelift. But they need your money to do that so I'll keep going, and so should you. read more

Ate here for Sunday lunch. I had the chicken Marsala which was excellent. The deep undertones of spicing were throughout the meat and the generous amount of mushrooms. Probably the best I have had in a while anywhere. Our server,Madison, was there at the right times and always smiling to accommodate. Want to go back there soon to try their salmon. read more

Worst experience EVER!! Went today 04/17/2013 for nice lunch date. "Manager" walks up didn't say "hi" just how may"? Waited 5 min to be greeted at the table. In ears range of 3-4 servers rolling silverware. Talking about "how the previous table gave them 100 dollar bill to check out and only left 2$ tip." Rude!! We hade never been there before, and felt offended. When we asked for a "manager"!! Server said :"there wasn't one there until the evening". "Asked for someone in charge"? Response was "there is No managers, No owners, there. Head chef was in charge, but also left"!! So upon being so offended and no one there in charge. We felt we didn't want our food to be spat in. So when leaving the "Manager follows us out side to ask "what is wrong"? We tell her the experience, and she became irate and told us "That's ok because they didn't need us anyway"!! My wife and I went there last night (6/9/16). Immediately seated near Dan so we could listen to his beautiful guitar. Our server was perfect so I thought we were in for a treat. I ordered the veal parmesan and my wife ordered the mixed seafood pasta. We had calamari as an appetizer. My wife's seafood was cooked well but the pasta was mushy. My veal was obviously Sam's club pre-frozen and pre-battered patties. The calamari was only ok and again was pre-frozen pieces cut from a very large squid. The side order of spaghetti was served dry (no sauce). Totally disappointed and a waste of $50.00. read more

It was my birthday dinner. I have eaten here in the past and it was good. Not this time. I ordered the seafood special and it was an insult to seafood!! They died for NOTHING! Clams, oysters, scallops and shrimp so extremely over cooked you could not chew them enough to swallow them. No one at the table would even try them. Trying to pry one of the small rubber clams from the shell took so much force it went flying off my fork. My husbands salmon piccata was warm and slightly undercooked on one end and cold and not cooked on the other. My sons chicken was not cooked. My spaghetti noodles were also undercooked, not close to al dente. Nothing had any flavor or seasoning, except the natural sand in my food from the clams. Then, because we had two children with us, something inevitably falls to the ground. Under the end table was a broken glass, trash and a wrapper of some sort, and large pieces of ithe glass were under the middle table. The guitarist was very good. Our waiter was very good. The food was the worst I have had since I can remember. Such a shame. One cook who KNOWS how to cook would make ALL the difference. read more

Hands down, my favorite Italian Restaurant EVER!! Ingredients ordered from Italy! Very friendly staff, awesome atmosphere. You owe it to yourself to eat here. LOVE the salad bar, too! The house dressing is the best ever. Not to mention the bread is soooo good, I recommend going on Friday or Saturday night and buying a loaf. Prices are fair. All kinds of good dishes. Just go here... ...you won't be sorry. Nowhere else in Abilene comes close. read more
