Wow - I am in from out of town and landed late so I decided to order Uber Eats. This food is incredible and the packaging of the food shows they care too! I came here last night with the husband and kiddos, its very laid back atmosphere which was nice to enjoy my food in peace . I ordered the Tortellini Siciliana ( W/ black olives & ham in pink sauce + I added chicken.) $11.99 The ham was soooooo good I can't get the dish out of my head. Husband had the Chicken Parmigiana ( Breaded Chicken breast topped w/ mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce)$11.99 I actually convinced him to switch plates with me so I can eat his food, man they got a good crust on the chicken. The meal comes with salad bar, (lettuce, red onions, black olives, cucumbers, peppercini , eggs, tomatoes, ranch and a red type catalina dressing. Salad was very good and fresh love the basic options smaller venue better quality I always say.The plate portions were a good size I couldn't finish my plate. The bead rolls were buttery and fluffy came with olive oil/ herbs and pepper flakes dipping sauce. Thanks to our waiter I believe her name was Nabaa she was very polite and attentive. Overall I dug the place and will be back. The reason for the average review is that me and my buddy walked in and it was indeed dark and quiet as a tomb. My buddy asked me, "Is it closed?". It wasn't. But we did wait about 5 minutes in awkward, confused silence before a waitress came and greeted us. Also, our waiter took our orders and brought the wrong items twice (once for drinks and once for food), and also came back to our table to ask us what we ordered. Good stuff: The food came out quick. The bread and oil/butter dipping plate was extraordinarily good. Bread was awesome, the dip was even more awesome. The spaghetti I ordered was sweeter than I'm used to but high in quality and enjoyable. Big servings. I got another meal out of it a few days later and the spaghetti got even better as spaghetti often does in the fridge. My buddy asked me if I'd rather come here again or go to Olive Garden. This is the best place to go for real good Italian food in Abilene. I had the chicken Florentine this time which was amazing I had been here a few other times all which have been good experiences. Chicken Marsala is also very good. I would also recommend trying the mushroom soup it comes with the food they ask whether you want a soup or salad. read more

Soon, a basket of 4 hot yeast bread rolls and a platter of garlic spicy dipping sauce arrived. The menu is extensive and much cheaper than Olive Garden. I ordered the shrimp (large, perfectly cooked) with a white wine garlic butter sauce (which initially tasted awesome, but as I continued, was overwhelmingly salty) over fettuccine and a salad from the bar. Mehhhhhh. The menu on this site is not current, so keep that in mind. We specifically went for the Italian nachos, but they're no longer there. The salad bar is also gone. They do still have the mystery red dressing -- it's a tasty tomato vinaigrette. I agree with other reviewers about the Chef Boyardee tasting red sauce. It was very unimpressive. The bread was good, however the dipping 'oil' was actually butter. (See the attached picture.) Don't be alarmed as it solidifies over the course of your meal. Strannnnge. The waitstaff was inattentive and extremely slow. We waited 10 minutes for a waiter to come to the table. He took our drink orders, then disappeared for ten more minutes. He returned (sans drinks) and tried to take our order. The price was fair for the quantity of food, but because of the poor quality we will not return. Fantastic. I'll never go to Olive Garden again. The ambiance was dim and romantic with fun period music playing in the background. The food? What can I say - incredible! We talked about how good it was all night. The stuffed mushrooms were decadent and had such succulent flavor. We split the lobster and shrimp ravioli and nothing compares. The sauce - I couldn't get enough, I wanted to pick up the plate and lick it clean. Negatives - the salad wasn't great or that special, next time I will try a soup. The drinks were okay. I appreciate the effort and the attempt to offer something special but I think there is room for improvement but that won't stop us from coming back again and again. I'm so glad that we stumbled into our new favorite restaurant - Little Italy! read more

Dining solo. First impressions: quiet, a little dark, a little sad. Sleepy 90s elevator pop music, not ironic enough to make me nostalgic. A good place for a private conversation ... Because there isn't anyone else to hear you. A good place to take your high school girlfriend ... Because she's already impressed that you're taking her to dinner anyway, and you have a gift certificate. Service was polite and prompt. The rolls were fine I guess; a little crusty and stale. I promptly drowned them in the provided olive oil and dried red pepper flakes. The house salad had some wilted leaves, but the tomato vinaigrette was different in a good way. Caprese salad was short on tomatoes, sad on similarly wilted spinach (basil? Where was the basil?? Do they not know about the organic produce store 5 minutes away?), and the mozz was average at best. I realized too late that I ate my salads with the dinner fork, and I was unnecessarily embarrassed. If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it ... Ordered the Veal Murphy (food moralism is dead in Texas once you are 45 minutes outside Austin) and the portion size was large. Meat was done well in quality and seared/medium in doneness. Plenty of artichoke hearts, appropriate amount of pepperoncinis for some capsaicin, and a relative soup of marinade. I let out a satisfied "meh" when I finished. I did not clean my plate. Overall, I wasn't disappointed, but I'll probably forgo this place for Olive Garden next time. Better people watching while I eat average Italian food there, at least. I always enjoy Little Italy. Calzone, Alfredo, spaghetti, shrimp --all always good! And don't forget the rolls!!! They are delectable! The list goes on and on. They have a great salad bar too which is always a plus. Atmosphere is nice especially for date night or special family gathering. The service has always been good too. I have come to this establishment since I was a kid. I have always LOVED hearing Dan Mitchell play his guitar, and until recently the food was good to! The key word there "WAS". I have been more and more disappointed each time I visit. The food has lowered in quality so drastically, and I leave feeling sick most times. The cost of the meal does not make sense! Tonight the service was wonderful! We really enjoyed our server Adrian! BUT the food was lacking. The bread dip is now butter or something that congealed rather than olive oil. The salad was mostly bitter or off tasting iceberg lettuce. The new chefs have changed things on the menu and they are all wrong. The Chicken Florentine no longer has a creamy sauce. Instead it has a clear watery sauce. The lasagna was mostly sauce barely any meat. I'm sorry to say, even as an advocate for supporting local businesses, I will be taking my business to Fazolis or Olive Garden in the future. read more

We really wanted this place to be good, considering it is really the only, authentic, one in town. But I will go to Olive Garden instead. I ordered the clam and shrimp linguine, almost all my clams had to be sent back because they wouldn't open. There consistency was more like a oyster, than a rubbery clam. Chicken Picato is fingers to lips perfect. I love just about anything with artichoke. It is a bit pricey, but the food and atmosphere is perfect. I've not found anything I dislike. Stopped by this restaurant and had chicken marsala which was excellent. They brought out really good bread to dip in a more than generous amount of oil and seasonings. I had the lunch priced manicotti that is the same size as the dinner priced meal. It comes with their salad bar and a lot of good bread. The manicotti was good, the salad bar was average with very few items on it. The large bread serving came with an olive oil/butter dipping sauce that was more butter than olive oil. The meal was good but not anymore than that. I am giving 4 stars because the bill with tea to drink came to $8.65 with tax!!! It was a full meal and a great value at that price. I have to say, mine and my husband's standards are fairly high for restaurants (we both penny-pinch so eating out has to be amazing to justify the cost). We came in on a lark and we were INCREDIBLY PLEASED. Our waiter Brittany was an excellent person for helping us decide what plates we were going to get. A real find during a stop on our vacation. Wife and I stopped for lunch. I had the veal parm and my wife the shrimp Alfredo. First, though, the fresh rolls they brought with our drinks were excellent. We both had the Caesar Salad and the dressing was extremely good. The veal In the veal parmigiana was actually 2 veal patties but I enjoyed them. Plenty to share or take home. The marinara sauce was a very tasty tomato sauce. The Alfredo sauce was thick and rich, definitely worth it. Overall, we will stop here again when back in Amarillo. read more

Their tortellini in pink sauce is about as healthy as it sounds...and twice as delicious, so I thought about the dish for a good week before the trip. They bring out delicious bread and you'll need to restrain yourself from just eating that. Service is kind and welcoming, but it's Abilene and pretty much everyone is...all the time. I had the pasta sampler (manacotti/lasagna/baked ziti) and i have to say i was disappointed. the sauce was good, but i couldnt find the food because it was burried underneath a thick blanket of mozzarella...not good mozzarella either. I dont know how they can advertise "homemade pasta" when the noodles are CLEARLY store bought at best. the salad bar was pathetic very picked over and only 2 options for dressing (ranch and something red that was totally unrecognizable). I also tried the black forest cheesecake, while the cheesecake base was very good the "black forest" aspect was very lack-luster. I guess this is good for Abilene and for the price I cant really complain but I will try other places before I even consider coming back here. I did have a very friendly server so I should have know the food wasnt going to be great...i have been cursed with good server = bad food and vice versa :) read more
