    Honey cake, soooooo good.
    Rich R.

The way catfish is supposed to be done. If you are in the Huntsville area, this is a place for you. Local restaurant and atmosphere with that southern charm. The employees are super friendly with the type of service only found in the south. The honey cake was an extra treat at lunch and washed it down with a nice cold, sweet tea.

Service was excellent, very accommodating, friendly waiting staff. Good food. Catfish was good, their shrimp popcorn was very good as well. Hush puppies are very underrrated. I'd get that again. Everything's fried. Fried catfish, fried shrimp, French fries, fried okra, fried AIR lol. J/k. Nah, I had the coleslaw. I got the big fillet catfish, I should've gotten the little fillets because i was getting full off the sides. Their Mac n cheese was alright, I liked their cake and cornbread.

    "Medium rare" steak

I hate to rate one star when the service was great but I ordered a medium rare steak and I'll just let the photo do the talking.

Love this place but NEVER get the Catfish to go. It is Always BEST in house. The Breakfast is Grandma's house just wish they had Chocolate Gravy!

Vegetable plate with whole kernel corn, black eyed peas, fried okra, and macaroni and cheese

We visited Little Libby's yesterday after wanting to try it out for a while. We found ourselves in the Madison area and figured why not give it a go! It was pretty busy for a Monday at around 12:15. We were seated quickly. It very much looks and feels like what it is: country cooking. Lots of Alabama and Auburn sports memorabilia on the walls, some wooden boards with funny sayings, the usual stuff you'd expect at a place like this. It seemed like everybody knew everybody, with multiple waitresses greeting customers by name, and many patrons stopping at the tables of others to catch up. That's always a neat experience. The service we received was friendly and professional. Generous, too. She let us choose if we wanted hush puppies, rolls, or cornbread for the table, and when we couldn't agree, she brought us a little of both of what we asked for. The hush puppies were crunchy and savory, and the rolls were warm and soft. The butter spread was the sort of sweet, oily, prepackaged kind. I opted for a vegetable plate, and my boyfriend got the 2 catfish fillet meal. The portion sizes are HUGE. Boyfriend is a big guy and easily would've been full off of one fillet. His dish came with fries, MORE hush puppies, slaw, and a slice of cake. We didn't realize dessert came with meals, but that was nice. He said the slaw was too sweet and mushy. The French fries were okay, very hot, not super crispy or salty. The catfish was good. Not the best he'd ever had (nor I), but crunchy, tender, and not particularly fishy tasting. His meal was pretty solid, worthy of maybe 3.5/5. Mine was a good bit more disappointing. I had fried okra, black eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and whole kernel corn. The corn was out of a can - no flavor except a vague saltiness. The macaroni and cheese was, if you can believe it, too cheesy. It tasted like straight velveeta, which may work for some people, but tasted overwhelmingly like fake cheese to me, which was a no. The black eyed peas were alright. A little over cooked, but the flavor was good. Fried okra was definitely the best dish. Again, not the best I've ever had, but fresh tasting, hot and crispy. The cake was just okay. It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. The icing was cloyingly sweet, but the cake was relatively moist, and the fact that it was free means I really can't complain too much, haha. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience here, but I likely wouldn't return due to the fact that there are similar, better places to visit.

Complimentary hush puppies when you sit down. The sweet tea was perfect. Not super sweet and good tea flavor

This is now one of my favorites in Huntsville. Really great southern cooking. This is the type of place I search for. I had the seafood platter and a sweet tea. The catfish was very tasty. The prices are family friendly. My huge dinner was $20. I'm coming back.

Lunch special of catfish nuggets, hush puppies, green beans, collard greens and pinto beans. Yummy!!!

Yesterday after driving to Decatur to get our second Moderna shot, we decided to pick up late lunch and head home to await sore arms. We picked Little Libby's Catfish & Diner based on Yelp reviews which were not recent. The restaurant was busy for Friday after 1pm with people picking up takeout/to go orders. Inside there were several diners all socially distanced. The wait staff were very nice and accommodating. We ordered a grilled chicken salad and two lunch specials of catfish nuggets and three sides for about $8 with tax for the lunch specials. Deal of the day!!! Our nuggets were crisp, juicy, not oily and delicious after riding in the car an additional 50 minutes before eaten. Hubs had fried okra, green beans and collard greens for his sides. I had green beans, collard greens and pinto beans for my sides. Yummy!!! I will not be able to go to BM's again because the food is so salty. Little Libby's did not over salt or over grease the sides. They were seasoned well. Looking around at all the elderly people over 65, I realized we were the youngest customers by 10 or more years with hubs at 64. Seeing so many elders was an indication to me the food was not overly salted. My last visit to the other place did not have elders in large numbers. Mostly younger than 45-50 were at BM's. The grilled chicken was juicy and complimented by the homemade ranch dressing. My salad was great with crisp lettuce, red onions (yum), cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and lots of crackers. My great surprise when I checked out the food after arriving home was the dessert of fresh spice cake. It was delicious and was a perfect end to my delectable lunch. We will return to try other items. A+ for food, accuracy of order and welcoming staff.

The catfish on different days can be hit or miss. Seasoned well or under seasoned. I really like the whole meal concept with dessert at end.

Most of the wait staff was wearing very tattered clothing and the worst offender was the bus boy. Although he was working his tail off, he looked like he hadn't showed in several days and hadn't washed his clothes in a week. His bus tub was disgusting. As he was cleaning the table beside us, he put the tub in the table top and as I turned my head to look over I lost my appetite seeing the condition of the tub. To know that he put it on top of the table made me even more disgusted. Not only was he bussing tables but he was also taking plates of food to tables. I, personally, would not have accepted food from him because it's very unlikely he washed his hands after cleaning tables off. Our waiter was nice but he looked very sloppy. I realize I'm not at a white table cloth restaurant but at least make sure the serve staff looks presentable. We won't be back.

It was 0930. Inside there were a dozen seniors enjoying breakfast. One of the ladies told us to take a seat anywhere and she would bring us menus after she dropped off 3 plates of food. The plates looked good. I ordered a 3 egg ham and cheese western omelet that a biscuit, gravy, and grits. Dave likes hash browns so I got an order of the browns for him. The omelet was good. The biscuit and gravy were better. I read an article somewhere. I don't remember where about the best biscuits and gravy in the state of Alabama. Bubby's diner was second place. I see why they were ranked high!!! 5/5 I heard a man in the diner talking up his patty melt. He told his companion she did not know what she was missing. I was at the counter so I did not turn around to search for the man. A patty melt sounded good to me so I ordered one. The patty melt was placed on top of thick marbled rye bread. The actual patties inside were cooked well, moist, and flavorful. I enjoyed the panty melt! Dave said too much rye bread took away from the taste of the patties.. i think if the patties were served on thinner bread or sourdough, the patty melt would earn that extra star. 4/5 I did order a side of fried green tomatoes. They were breaded well, fried in clean oil, and delicious!!! 5/5

The star of the meal was the fried green tomatoes. They were thick, juicy, perfectly fried, and honestly didn't need any dipping sauce or condiment at all. They're some of the best I've had. Minnie and I both ordered the whole catfish with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. We absolutely demolished our plates. The catfish was delicious, and the mashed potatoes tasted genuinely homemade. The brown gravy was rich and flavorful and paired perfectly with them. My mom ordered the 4-vegetable plate with fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and fried okra. She loved everything on her plate. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was busy the entire time we were there. There was a steady stream of both dine-in customers and takeout orders, which tells you a lot about the place's reputation. My only complaint is the wait time. Food takes a while to come out, especially if you're ordering fried items, but they do warn you ahead of time. The quality makes it clear they're cooking to order, so if you decide to visit, just be prepared to be patient. If someone asked me where to take an out-of-town guest for authentic Southern cooking, G's Country Kitchen would be at the top of my list. The food is homemade, comforting, and exactly what people imagine when they think of classic Southern cuisine.
