Customer service was not at all warm and welcoming as mentioned in several reviews. Primarily the male manager with the beard was rough around the edges to us and everyone else, even to regulars as my partner observed. While we waited for a table I was already looking for another restaurant and we were both feeling bad and kind of shocked due to his abruptness, lack of warmth and kindness. I am guessing that he feels he is doing a perfectly find job, and maybe he is, but it is nothing better than average for a diner. Staff was fine. I am editing down my very detailed review as it contained TMI. We went here solely because we read they were especially kind and that was most certainly not the case from the manager who I truly hope could learn a great deal more warmth and rise up to the expectations set in Yelp reviews. Brooklyn is such a mystery to me with the discovery of Little Purity on a mini-getaway. It has classic diner vibes with very warm staff. I'm such a fan of no-frills food! I went with the Western Omelette while my boyfriend decided to be brave (read: hella gluttonous) and got the He Man, which was entirely too much food for one person to eat in one sitting but such a steal for the price. The highlight of my meal was definitely the homemade strawberry jam/preserves, which was semisweet and exactly how I like it. It was a weekday when we went but still kind of packed since I assume the kids got out of school for whatever semblance of spring break was left. Had breakfast at Little Purity on Sunday morning. On the surface it seems like most other diners, but the emphasis on homemade and freshness makes them stand out. Quality: What I truly appreciated about Little Purity is they don't sacrifice for quality. Everything is fresh and homemade. The Mozzarella Sticks are incredible. Why, because they aren't just dipping frozen items in grease, they put in the work to make them great. The He-Man Combo, is a hit because they didn't select just any bread for the french toast. They went a soft and fresh challah, the right choice. They clearly want people to leave craving more. And their fries, unsurprisingly are their own as well. It is not what everyone else does, and that is why it is appreciated so much more. Quantity: Giant sized portions of every single food item. Value: $9 for Homemade Mozzarella Sticks. $17 for the He-Man Combo. $5 for the Hand-Cut Fries. Ambiance: Little Purity is located in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn. The diner itself is quite small with just a few booths, a row of tables in the center of the space, and then six seats at the bar. They have an outdoor area, but it appeared shut down for winter. Guests are close, but with enough distance to prevent any feelings of unsafeness. However, expect to overhear some fun conversations. Crowd: There was about a 15 minute wait to get into the small dining room. When it is cold out they don't even bother with the outdoor section. Service: The small staff knows what they are doing. I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning with a group of 4 people. This was an old school diner near my friend's apartment. The seats in the booths were very worn. I ordered the western omelette. It came with a choice of potatoes, oatmeal, grits, or mixed greens. It also came with toast (white or whole wheat). I also ordered a coffee. The portions were smaller than I expected. The oatmeal was in a tiny cup. The coffee was in a teacup. The omelette was cooked well though. Service was fast and attentive. While the NY thing to do on a Sunday is brunch, we're from Pennsylvania and definitely morning people. Up and about around 7 am in search of breakfast and the restaurant in our "neighborhood" didn't open till 8:30. Yelp saved the day and lead us to Park Slope to Little Purity. Initially worried about parking we were pleasantly surprised that that early it wasn't a problem. And because it was Sunday it wasn't necessary to hit the meter - score! Looking at the pictures on Yelp we had high expectations. I was craving the Challah french toast with fruit until I saw the price. One slice with a few berries will run you $13! I ultimately settled on the plain version with a side of thick Italian sausage. The menu offered some Greek and Mexican inspired breakfast dishes and hubby settled on an omelet with Mexican flavors. Portion sizes were adequate, although coffee was served in a tea cup. Hubby can drink a pot all by himself so he needed refilled often. Instead of syrup on the table they ration it out in small single serving sizes. I was given one. Seems like a waste of plastic to me and would much rather have an endless syrup supply at my disposal. I'd like to say that we were impressed with our meals but it was just kinda meh. The french toast was thick and cooked well but lacked flavor, no sweetness, cinnamon, or vanilla flavoring. The small portion size of syrup also was also not sweet and very runny. It felt watered down. The sausage had decent flavor but was oozing with grease. I squeezed it out and a puddle developed on the plate. Overall our meals filled our bellies but did little else but empty our wallets. In all the basic breakfast for two with juice and coffee ran us over $30. Disappointing. read more

If you are a big waffle person like me, let me introduce you to the platonic ideal of this breakfast staple. My order came with a generous heap of blueberries (add on), butter, and syrup. We also got sausages on the side too and they were so juicy. The breakfast burrito came with a tasty green salsa. Being a Jersey native transplanted to Brooklyn 20 years ago, diners in the 5 boroughs are just never going to impress me but I still try to give them the benefit of the doubt. I enjoy the breakfast options at little purity and I don't stray to far no matter the time I dine at this restaurant. The omelettes are solid and they have some good breakfast sandwiches. While they don't have disco fries, they do have a nice selection of specialty fries so . As far as diners in the area, it's either them or Windsor and I'm going to give the nod to Windsor although it's close. And I much prefer this location over purity. read more

The food is always soooo good, service is great, they treat everyone like regulars and make you feel at home. It can get super busy on weekends so you might have to wait, but the wait goes fast. Little Purity is an absolute gem. The food is made well, home-made, and well-seasoned. But there are a lot of places like that, right? I think that the thing that separates Little Purity from other diners is that they give a shit from the second you walk through the door. They're honest, hard working, warm, and make you feel cared for in a genuine way that's missing from places nowadays. It's very apparent that everything has been hand picked from the ingredients to the beer selection to provide diners with an experience that's both accommodating of personal preferences, but also presents local and curated ingredients that display Little Purity's personality. I can't say enough about this place. I'll tell you right now: order the breakfast sausage, mix the homemade tomatillo salsa and the strawberry jam together, spread it on the rye toast, sip your endless cup of actually good coffee, and see ya later . Maybe it was an off day. I got the He-man breakfast with French toast. I expected bigger portions due to the name and other diner experiences, but the servings are normal sized. It includes (literally) one egg. The ham was barely cooked. The French toast and the sausage were good, though! I have been waiting to write my 800th review about a 5-star experience and yesterday it happened. I had been to Little Purity a few times in the past and always had enjoyed it. Yesterday I came here to meet a friend for brunch who is leaving the city for a new start in MA. Unlike me, he has been a regular here for years. I arrived early and Nick who runs Little Purity very politely asked me to understand that he could not seat me until my friend arrived because they are so crowded on weekends. I completely understood and realized I had arrived 30 minutes early! So after a trip to Dunkin Donuts for a $1.99 s'mores frozen hot chocolate (which I also recommend!), I returned and when my friend arrived, Nick sat us down right away and made us feel right at home. And of course asked me why I had not said who my friend was! :-) Our server was Rosa who was so friendly and fun that I looked forward to her visits to the table as much as to the food which from me is very unusual! We ordered simple. Eggs, sausage, home fries and english muffin/toast. Everything was cooked to order and just as importantly, our coffees and waters were kept full (thank you Clarissa!). The food was normal diner food (a good thing) but the service and friendliness of Nick, Rosa and the rest of the team, earned Little Purity 5 stars from me! Update: Aug 4: Met Erene, Nick's sister.
