I used to frequent this restaurant quite a bit, until the service declined severely. The food is decent, but don't expect an overly attentive waiter during the daytime (daytime manager usually wears a baseball cap and glasses). Basic amenities are typically forgotten such as coffee refills, water on the table and even silverware on the table (it's hit or miss). I was able to deal with these inconveniences for a while, until I noticed that the bill was also inconstant. I was frequently overcharged for the same meal several times in a row. The first time I brought it to the manager's attention, he gave me the correct change and said nothing (how about a simple apology?). After this happened the fourth time, I was basically told to add up the bill in the future and confirm for myself. I explained that I just a wanted to pay a consistent price for the meal and did not want to be hassled with checking for mistakes with every meal (note that everything is done with a calculator - no computer or cash register, which is probably the reason mistakes happen so often). In short, I mentioned that there were plenty of other places to choose from in the neighborhood where I didn't have to regularly calculate my own bill to which the manager replied, "then go to the other places!" It's hard to believe that anyone would turn away business (especially from steady customers), but that's what happens when a manager, who knows very little about customer service, attempts to run a restaurant. There are plenty of other great places to choose from in the neighborhood.....and they actually charge the same price from one day to the next! I wouldn't waste my time or money here. read more

The reason for this bad review is because of the service I received from "THE JERK" with glasses and silver beads (chain) around his neck. After I ordered my breakfast (to go) and paid for the meal, I couldn't leave without questioning him why why meal cost $17 and change. After his explanation, I made a comment"Remind me never to order that again" and as i was leaving, he grabs the bag of food opens the register and says "you can give me the change I gave you".....Never in my life have I had to deal with such a jerk....NEWS FLASH - "YOU ARE NOT THE FOUR SEASONS" - I live in the neighborhood, I AM A CUSTOMER - a NEW ONE AS A MATTER OF FACT....and this arrogant jerk basically said to me "I DON'T NEED YOUR BUSINESS!!!" You are a small business and in this day and age i would think anyone would want to retain customers. For the past 3 weekends I have spent over $30 each Sunday - I much rather the prefer the woman that works there - she is a sweetheart and if you are waiting too long, she will get you a glass of ice cold water. It is a shame that she wasn't there today and that I wont be going back there again because of "THE JERK". Lastly I never make posts on any site, nor do I expect this post to sway you away from going to TCP, it is mostly to tell everyone my experience but more importantly apologize to the customers and their children that had to deal with me losing my cool and cursing at "THE JERK" - that wasn't cool and I apologize. read more

Was THRILLED when Terrace Coffee replaced My Hero for many reasons - a wider variety of foods, appropriate diner hours (My Hero closed at 3pm and was not open on weekends). Unfortunately, after a long while being in business, the employees still do not know the prices of regular items on their menu. They often overcharge or forget items that should be included with the meal. Almost never happens when the owner is there. Although, the staff are usually friendly, they have been very rude about dogs left outside their fence who bark while their owner sits inside the restaurant eating for 30-60 minutes every day, often two to three times a day. Have contacted them several times, and they were dismissive about it. You cannot even get into the restaurant sometimes because her dogs are blocking the entrance. So if you do not mind at least three dogs barking and crying loudly the entire time while you eat or climbing over them to get in and out of the restaurant, go for it. Love that they are dog friendly but respect the neighbors and community. I can hear the dogs barking nonstop from at least two blocks away. read more

Food is ok and service is the absolute worst. I have ordered from this place periodically over the past 3 years. I recently made an order through a food delivery app that was over 45 minutes late. I am pretty patient but I had to leave my house. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times but the phone was busy and so I was left with no choice but to cancel through the delivery app. Tried to place an order the next day and the OWNER refuses to serve me unless I pay for the delivery from the day before which I NEVER RECEIVED and was NEVER DELIVERED. I would have to reiterate the comment left by another patron as it is entirely accurate: "Additionally, while the owners (two brothers) are really nice guys, the brother-in-law who runs Terrace Coffee Shop most of the time is a creep and a cheat, he never writes the prices for items on bill (both when we eat in store and order delivery), just writes total and always tries to scam us (overcharge us relative to prices stated on menu). The daytime manager (brother-in-law of the managers) almost never writes down the prices and usually overcharges...I've caught him doing this several times. The Florentine Benedict consisting of tow poached eggs on a toasted English muffin with spinach, feta, and hollandaise sauce for around $17.50 is more substantial and also pretty good. The eggs are properly poached and the home fries are solid in terms of texture though less flavored than some other spots I've been to. I wouldn't go out of my way here and for brunch, I prefer Gersi next door but you can definitely do worse..

There are comfort food choices such as BLT, crispy chicken sandwich,,grilled cheese, omelette and salads ( Butternut squash, yum) Kevin, the owner, served my turkey burger deluxe to me. ( very nice!) The turkey burger is a generous size, served with a delicious side salad dressed and fries. I dived right in and never looked back.. this is a perfectly seasoned juicy, very important as TB can be dry, burger. The fries were plentiful and crispy. I savored every bite. I told Olive, my wonderful server, that finding a great TB is hard and I schlepped from Bay Ridge ( not a long schlep, lol) to dine here. Now, of course, I will be the one who raves about HT as I am drafting this YELP review. The other reason HT is a gem: located near 3rd Street entrance to Prospect Park. All I can say to Georgia and Kevin, three times the charm! They also own Hamilton on Fort Hamilton Parkway. Looking for a fourth location??? You know I'm going to say it: Bay Ridge? Wanted the steak and eggs or shrimp and grits but was too late for brunch for the former and early for dinner for the latter so I settled for steak and fries. Service was excellent. Sat outside because it was a beautiful day even though the sun was beaming down my neck but that's not their fault. Had their version of Aperol Spritz(forget what is called) and a Hugo Spritz (much prefer the latter). My issue was the steak and fries. While it was cooked to my liking,the steak was quite small. It was cut in four little strips.I had more fries than steak. This isn't worth $38 in my opinion. I also had their fish tacos which came in three and was delicious. Spicy enough. Had enough for a doggie bag but unsure if I'll come back.

The staff is friendly and offer great and interesting conversation. I ordered the French Toast Deluxe which comes with your choice of eggs and meat and my boyfriend ordered a Reuben. The french toast alone was enough to make me a life time customer. The best French toast I've ever had. It wasn't overly sweet and had a nice little crisp to it. I had never tried a Reuben before and decided to take a bite after watching him devour the first half. In that moment, I instantly became a fan. It was shocking news to discover that they haven't seen much business since the pandemic, considering how good the food and service is. I hope that changes once people discover their food.
