We had been working all day, and after 12 days working the Laconia Bike Week, we were tired and just wanted someplace to relax. This was a great choice. We started with a Beet Salad for me and New England Clam Chowder for my dining partner. He seems to be on a roll to find the best clam chowder, as he's ordered it just about everywhere. He said this was good, and my salad was excellent as well. I got the Seafood Paella and he ordered the Crispy Duck. He said the duck was very good, and it came on the saffron rice that was served with my paella dish. The paella was jam packed with seafood. I'd say it's an Americanized version of paella, but was still very good. They do make saffron rice using real saffron as opposed to saffron powder. The shellfish was plentiful and had scallops, shrimp, mussels, and clams. There was edamame instead of peas, which is a bit unusual, but still good. All the seafood was cooked nicely. There was a little too much andouille sausage for my liking, which I removed. With all the food, there was no room for dessert. This was an outstanding way to end a very long week.

The inn was cozy and charming, and Monty and Rebecca were gracious and attentive hosts. They take such pride in their inn, and it shows. The inn itself is well-maintained and beautiful, the rooms are charming and cozy (and some with spectacular views of the lake!), and the amenities throughout were ample. The sheets were divine and so soft; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The large living room downstairs was the perfect spot to relax by the stunning fireplace and play board games from their many options of games, puzzles, and magazines. There is a selection of coffee and tea in the dining room available any time, and every afternoon fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are put out. They were delicious and we enjoyed quite a few! In the warmer months, there is a beautiful front porch overlooking the gazebo and waterfront area. The breakfast was fantastic and lovingly made. We were treated to a three-course breakfast in the dining room served by Monty with fresh juices and coffee/tea. First fruit, followed by a delicious pumpkin bread, followed by the main dish. At check-in, they asked about our dietary needs and preferences based on the upcoming menu and catered to our needs. It was excellent and we left breakfast stuffed! Monty was a truly kind and hospitable host and we enjoyed talking with him during our stay. He was even so kind to leave out a few things to go since we departed early before breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at The Lake House at Ferry Point while in town or making a trip for a weekend of beautiful views and relaxation. The beautiful wrap around porch still exists, now with an incredible porch added to enjoy the incredible view. The inn is absolutely beautiful. Darryl then went so far as to offer us WONDERFUL pumpkin muffins made that morning and they were DELICIOUS! This was our first visit to Meredith-- we were in town for a wedding. I also tried their iced lattes for the first time ever and I'm disappointed I never got it before. I got an iced latte with salted caramel flavor and whip cream which was amazing. Their menu is full of variety and they are so many substitutions and add ons you can make. Different combos of pancake batter and toppings, cheese and onions on home fries, different flavors of toast, etc. All the employees are so friendly too. Every time we've eaten here, the waiter/waitress is always so kind and friendly and attentive. Our waitress today, Lisa, was especially awesome. The food comes out in a decent amount of time too. Beware that they get VERY VERY busy once camping season starts, around Memorial Day weekend and continuing throughout the summer. You could be looking at a wait time of at least 2 hours on a weekend in the summer if you get there after 8 or 9am. Many options but many with poor reviews. After a week of research was able to narrow the selection down to two places and the breakfast served here was the deciding factor. Booking as super easy on their web site. The Inn is located in a quiet area outside of the college town of Plymouth in Compton, NH a 5 minute drive to the arena and minutes from the highway made this the perfect location for our stay. Easy to find and ample parking made getting there easy. When we arrived we went to the entrance abutting the parking area. Travin answered the door, allowed us in from the cold and got our checking in under way, promptly checked in with in seconds of coming in. We were escorted to our room and each room we went through, Travin explained that we could make use of at anytime but to please be mindful of other guests sleeping. Up a narrow set of steps, being an old building from 1764, I would imagine they once were the servants staircase. We arrived to our room, key passed to us and we were on our own. Fast and efficient check in process. The room was fairly large for a queen bed and you can tell it is an older home but very well maintained. There as a small crack in the bathroom flooring, but very minor. We went out and met up with family and grabbed a pizza for our room. The room was well heated with no drafts which one would expect in such an old home. We slept very well, bed was comfortable. In the morning David greeted us and asked if we had a preference of where we wanted to eat! We were given a choice of the dining room or their lovely greenhouse porch. It was a beautiful day but a bit chilly. David was thoughtful enough to place a small space heater by our table to keep us warm, so wonderful! For breakfast we were not given a choice but recall Trevin asking if we liked eggs and bacon, absolutely! The eggs were baked with some cherry tomatoes halved and some light seasoning. He made this amazing bread stick. It was a croissant bread wrapped around a piece of bacon and baked off. Brushed with some Dijon and finished off with sesame seeds. YUM!! Not a crumb was left on our plates. Checking out was easy peasy, leave your key in an envelope on the dresser and your out! We really liked the town of Plymouth and will be back to explore some more. We almost couldn't hear each other across a small table. Decent wine list. They had a Prisoner Chardonnay $14 and Unshackled Cabernet Sauvignon $13. I got an Oberon Sauvignon Blanc for $10. The crab cake appetizer for $18 came with two burger-sized crab cakes, a peach salsa that was the star of the show, and a dill remoulade sauce. Enough to share. However, the texture was like moist breadcrumbs, similar to falafel, and we saw no crabmeat. It was seasoned to taste like seafood, but the crab didn't show up to the party. My husband got the Tuscan filet for $43 and said it was tender but not medium rare as he ordered. It was definitely medium. I got the seafood saffron for $32 that came with two medium sized scallops, 3-4 medium shrimp and a few small pieces of lobster. I saw a few shorts threads of saffron but the sauce was sweet! Not coconut sweet, but sugary sweet. I thought it would be sherry based like a light Newburgh sauce, but no. I'm not keen on sweet seafood. I thought a lemon or sherry based light sauce would have complimented the scallops and lobster better. Sorry Breeze kitchen staff. I have to be honest, but hopefully kind.
