I really enjoyed the one taco I ordered here. I got the steak taco and honestly if you could buy them in a combo or trio I would have loved that. Got 1 chicken taco for my daughter with a drink for her and my taco and a frozen margarita which was great but at almost 40 dollars uhg. Going out to eat anymore is a drag cause everything is so dang expensive. At least we enjoyed the food.

I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested this place. She gave me two locations to choose from and I chose this one on Piedmont. It is a very cute restaurant. You order at the counter upon entry and take a sign to your table that's the staff uses to deliver you the correct food. I had the superica salad and it was delicious. I also tried my friend's chips and queso, and that was also good. The one downside is that it was steaming hot inside. Because of how hot it was, I ordered an aqua Fresca, which is their hibiscus lemonade. It was delicious and not too sweet. While we were dining, we were asked to move tables so that they could work on the air conditioning which required them to enter the ceiling above where we were originally seated. They wanted so badly to comp something for us for the inconvenience of moving tables, so we eventually settled on ice cream. The ice cream was a Dulcè de Leche flavor, which I didn't love. The bathrooms are outside the main entrance, and require a code for entry. You have to get the code from the staff. Overall, this was a good experience and I would go back.

I love Little Rey, I frequent here pretty often! The tacos are made in the restaurant which I love, the food is always delicious, and they have a lot of options to choose from on the menu! The staff is very friendly, and if you choose to dine in they give you a fun little card to put up at your table and they bring your order to you. Other than that, the rest is mostly self-service. The interior is very cute, with hanging plants and plenty of seating options, indoor and outdoor. If you like spicy tacos, I highly recommend the shrimp diablo tacos (#9)!! The grapefruit margarita and frozen margarita are also really good, I prefer the grapefruit one, but the frozen marg is great for the summer. Overall, 10/10 I definitely recommend coming here!!

Was celebrating a friends birthday this evening and we decided to stop at Little Rey's for a bite to eat and a refreshing margarita. A couple of takeaways: The food is very fresh and the ingredients hold a lot of flavor. I believe they make their tortillas in house, which makes the tacos that much much better! I did enjoy the margarita, however, it is not me to order as they are premade. For it to be a premade margarita it is very tasty (and kind of strong lol) but I always would prefer something made fresh to order. If you are like me, I would say still give it a shot. If you don't mind premade margaritas, this is probably one of the best that I've ever had. We went on a Saturday evening and it was very crowded. There was very little parking so it was quite the struggle.. So, keep that in mind if you're going on a busy day/night and with a group of people like we did. You order when you walk in and then you find your table. with that in mind, there was a very long line and they only had two registers/2 people taking orders. I would definitely say despite it being crowded, the wait was worth it. There were a moderate amount of inside and outside.I love the aesthetic of the restaurant as it is very appealing and clean! I would definitely go back to Little Rey but will likely avoid a day that has high volume/traffic (which will likely be on a weekend)

The food tasted good but the prices are much higher than what they should be. Paying $6 - $7 per taco is ridiculous especially when you do not get chips and salsa. You order at the counter and they give you a card to place at your table. They will then bring your food to your table. They have a salsa bar for you to grab your own cutlery, napkins, and sauces. I got the El Diablo, Al Carbon, and Chicken Quesadilla. The El Diablo is a shrimp taco with their hottest sauce and jalapenos. It is not that hot but it tastes great. The Al Carbon is a basic taco but it is cook to order. The Chicken Quesadilla is pretty basic but it tastes great.

Visited with a coworker while on a work training. She visited several years back and enjoyed it. It was our first meal while in Atlanta. We both opted for a small chips and queso. They accidentally rang us up as a large and a small, which we didn't notice and the manager visited our table to apologize and refund the difference. We had no idea and told him as much and to his credit he said, we noticed, we were wrong and we need to make it right. So props for that. I ordered the Aroz con pollo, which I will admit I didn't realize would be a salad as it normally isn't, but I didn't look closely at the menu when ordering. I also ordered two locals drafts. The place was extremely clean and neat. You order at a counter and then find a seat. It's at a weird intersection so if you Uber, make sure they know where they are going. It was a decent experience and I would go again next year.

Run don't walk!! This place will knock your socks off!! I really enjoyed these specialty tacos and breakfast. The pancakes with a touch of salt really take it up a notch! The service is amazing! Ambiance is great. Keep in mind l, this is TEX-MEX. Not traditional Mexican food. But boy to they do it right!

We came here on a Sunday morning a little after 9am and there wasn't a huge crowd but by the time we were leaving, there was a long line out of the door. They do have a lot of seating though so there shouldn't be a problem to get in. Definitely know what you want before you go because you have to order at a counter when you walk in and they will deliver it to your table. I had the bacon taco and the breakfast chalupa. Both were very simple dishes; however, they were both so tasty and flavorful. We did get some of the sauces they had to add to your food and the verde was my favorite. When I have a bigger appetite I definitely want to come back and try more items on the menu.

WOW!! I've been wanting to try Little Rey for a while and this did not disappoint. I came with some friends on a Saturday morning for brunch. Parking is a little tough but luckily there's an overflow lot next door behind the Starbucks. We parked there and walked over and had a small line (about 15 min). I love a fast casual restuarant so we placed our orders, got our drinks and then sat down with our table numbers. My friend and I split a cafe de olla (iced latte + horchata) and it was SO good!! Reminded me of cinnamon toast crunch cereal milk and was just the right level of sweet. For my main, I got a chorizo breakfast taco and a chicken al carbon taco. I also split an order of the hotcakes. The tacos were SO good and definitely lived up the hype!! But my favorite actually had to be the hotcakes. Wow, these were so yummy and the syrup it came with was basically like a dulce de leche!! I loved the caramelly goodness. Overall, great experience and want to go back for lunch/dinner soon!

The food here was mediocre at best. My bill came out to 40-50 dollars for come cold tacos. I was really disappointed because just like Superica, this place came highly recommended. The service was pretty good, but the failure was the taco here. I looked the salsa bar but I'm just at a loss for words for the taco itself. The ambience was chill but can't say I will be back unless the tacos will be hot and fresh.

Chicken Al carbon taco with Guacamole AND a shrimp Diablo taco

If we weren't with locals, I might have missed this. It seems to be in a business park and on a Sunday eve, it was pretty quiet until we got to Little Rey's. There was a lot of traffic there! A line when we arrived but it moves pretty quickly. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table for you. We got chips and queso, great start! They also have a salsa bar and lots of fun options there. I order the Al Carbon Chicken Taco, with Guacamole. I know a chicken taco sounds pretty common, but there is nothing common about this one! That chicken Al Carbon is so tender and full of flavor! A really great taco! I think they are known for their Al Carbon items so definitely try that out. I also had the Diablo Shrimp taco. (reminder Diablo .....hot). It was pretty spicy but very good. We were traveling with a toddler who got the Quesadilla, which I got to admit looked very good also. I understand why this is so popular, plug it in your Map App and find your way!

Outstanding food, great drinks and the best vibe in Atlanta. Be prepared to wait in a line, but it's worth it Tried the pollo and steak carbon. The quesadilla. And the amazing ranch beans with chorizo. All excellent and the prices are outstanding. This is a must hit restaurant.

Ask the Community - Little Rey

Do they have cilantro on the salsa bar?

Do they sell Margs when they open for breakfast? (Don't just get me 😂)

Not right at 9AM when they open - I think they start selling alcohol at 10AM or 11AM.

Do they still have the Salsa bar during COVID-19? Is it available for takeout?

Yes but it was in individual containers.

They have quickly become my favorite place to get Mexican food. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located on Buford Highway in a small shopping plaza. The lot is medium sized, but they are sharing it with a few other businesses, and depending on the night it could definitely be hard to find a spot so keep that in mind. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!

Halal tacos in a small store in a gas station - how can you get more authentic than that?…read more The meats served here are all halal, which is great! I got the beef Birria, steak Birria, and barbacoa tacos. The consommé itself was a little watery and tomato-y, but the tacos themselves were of decent quality and flavor. The beef Birria was better IMO than the steak, which was a little chewier. The barbacoa was definitely hands down my favorite - out of them it was the most flavorful and tender. The salsas they gave on the side were good too - spicy, tangy. The seating in the store is very limited (only a few tables, not well spaced out), large groups would be hard to accommodate.

I believe the meats here are halal. The crust of both the taco and quesadilla were crispy and had a nice cheese crunch. But trying other birria spots, these were okay. Good but nothing that would wow. The consome dip was actually pretty watered down. I know places make them differently as I've had versions with meat bits in them and another with rice. But their version was just watered down. The shrimp ratio was pretty sad. The beef is actually more bang for your buck. Though I didn't truly count the shrimps, there were about 3 or 4 of those baby shrimps. They didn't look nor tasted like they were doused in flavor. The shrimp was just so so. Sort of bland in taste imo. The beef had a nice kick of flavor. There was a good amount of beef to my surprise. Another friend's beef taco version looked like it was stuffed with meat as well. There was just ample seasoning and flavor with the beef. Psst. If you're thinking x3 tacos vs x1 whole quesadilla, go with the quesadilla. You're sort of getting another piece since the quesadilla is cut into four quadrants versus just 3 tacos. Though it's a different form on presentation, you're going to be getting more for the same exact price.

We realized this and pulled up the menu, but it didn't allow us to place the order so we waited (longer than is typical) for a server. Eventually she came, and our food started arriving shortly after ordering. Bar drinks took a lot longer. We didn't see the server again, but tried the QR code again and found we could pay online. Without anyone to ask for to-go boxes, we took our plates to the bar and asked there. It all felt a bit awkward; self-service is fine, but this hybrid model was just frustrating.
