I had a really terrible experience at Betos Tacos in Buckhead, and unfortunately it had nothing to do with the food--it was the customer service. The woman at the register was extremely rude and had a nasty attitude from the moment I walked in. It honestly felt like I was bothering her just by placing an order. Things only got worse when she brought the food to the table--she made a mistake with the order and handled it very poorly. At one point, it honestly felt like she almost threw the plate in my face. Completely unacceptable. Customer service like this ruins the entire experience. I will definitely be escalating this to the owner because no customer should be treated this way. Located right next to the Phipps Plaza AMC, Beto's Tacos was a conveniently delicious spot for a late lunch/ early dinner! They closed a bit earlier today for Cinco De Mayo but were able to get our to-go orders out just in time to take them down the hall to eat. The chicken enchiladas were a great deal at around $15. They came with beans and rice as well as chips! The restaurant has a salsa bar filled with lots of options to top your chips or meal with. The service was great and very friendly even when we came in a couple minutes before closing. Since they were celebrating, there were even colored balloons and streamer decorations for the holiday! The employees came around every so often offering new customers their choice of yummy Mexican candy! The enchiladas were worth the price in my opinion, especially with all the add ons I got. It was filling and had a great flavor. I had to add a bit of salt and hot sauce to the beans to spice them up but overall had a great taste. We came here on a Sunday afternoon right before our movie at AMC. There were only one other group of people being served at the time and there were a few to-go orders that came through. I ordered the Taco Chorizo, Taco Pollo Asado, and the Taco Carne Asada. The pollo asado was dry so I don't recommend it. If you add salsa to it, it helps but the chicken was still dry. Interested in a late lunch, I ordered 3 street tacos ($11.99): Al Pastor, Barbacoa, and Tinga, served on corn tortillas. And I quickly inhaled them. Of the three, the Al Pastor was the most flavorful. (I never thought that I would find authentic street tacos in Phipps Plaza...) The salsa and chips are complimentary, and I loved the salsa mexicana with cilantro. The salsa has just the right amount of heat. The chips are warm, thin and crunchy. I have finally found a place where there are really good tacos with salsa bar in atlanta. I ordered vegetarian and cactus tacos and I could keep eating them and was craving to go back for more. I ordered the following tacos: Grilled Pork Belly - chicharron asado suave, green salsa, pico de gallo, and red pickled onions Chochinita Pibil - traditional Mexican slow roasted citrus pork from the Yucatán peninsula with lettuce, cilantro, and red pickled onions Poblano Peppers, Oaxaca cheese, and mushrooms The last one was my absolute favorite! Best mall food (in my opinion)!!!!!! They have screens located to the right where you can order yourself. They have 15+ taco varieties, with options to upgrade / change the toppings. The tacos came with their own little bag of chips and salsa, but the best part of this place is the salsa bar in the corner. As you can see, I had to try every salasa offered and they ranged from mild but flavorful to extremely spicy. Also ordered the elote and queso. Not going to lie, I was disappointed in the elote but the delicious queso made up for it. check it out the next time you're shopping in Phipps plaza! Lorenzo, explained the menu favorites and made suggestions as to what I should order. After pondering for a five minutes, I decided to get the 3 Birria Tacos with Consome for $12.99 ( 3 Shredded marinated beef tacos with 4oz consome. Yummy! It was so good. Lorenzo did an excellent job by putting everything in my bag. I added a small cup of Queso dip $3.95. I was so pleased with Lorenzo's customer service. Beto's Taco bar was spotless. Clean clean! Great service, great food. The stree tacos taste like they are from Mexico. I ordered the chicken tacos that are not shredded. With only the onion and cilantro and they were juicy delicious and I love the salsa bar. It was also delicious and they actually have spicy salsa. I wish this place was where I lived in Saint Petersburg, Florida in a mall and it's across from Legoland so it is a little difficult to get to, but if you're at this mall or if you're looking for good tacos, I highly recommend coming. read more

The staff has great energy during the Grand Opening celebration at Beto's Tacos at Phipps Plaza. There was a line but it was moving fast. I ordered 2 tacos (tacos vegetariano and peppers and mushroom) and a burrito (big green salsa). The tacos were ok. The burrito is really good. It was full of flavor and Avery satisfying. I've been waiting to do this review because I wanted to try multiple items first. That said, I have to say that this place is pretty solid... However, some items lack a little flavor. The quesabirria is by far probably the best item on the menu. But the chicken burrito and the chicken taquitos lacked flavor. And while something was definitely missing from those items, there's still so much more to try and I plan on trying everything on this menu. The staff is great and the location is amazing. Sadly, I made a 'donation.' My 1st and only visit to this place. I work in the building next door. When I saw that a taco place would soon be opening at Phipps, I was super excited! I missed the grand opening, but a few of my colleagues checked it out. When I eagerly asked them for their thoughts, I received shoulder shrugs and 'meh.' Given those reactions, my hopes were dashed, but I was still a bit curious! First, I was thrown off about the pricing. Three tacos and a drink can easily set you back nearly $20. I know that this is Buckhead, but is this Buckhead + inflation? I love tacos. Love them. The set of 3 that I ordered were picture-perfect beautiful. I mean camera-ready gaw-geous! But... They tasted like nada, nothing, zilch, zero. Huh? How is this possible??? There is more flavor in a salt-free Saltine than what was had in these tacos! We're talking about chicken, pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese... Literally, all I tasted was the flour tortilla! Well, maybe the word 'tasted' is a bit generous for a flour tortilla, but you get my point! No hint of salt, no chili powder, no cumin, no pepper... Nothing!! Like most taco places, I received a bag of chips. They weren't warm and were thick and muy duro (very hard). If one isn't careful, a $20 meal could transform into a $200 dental co-pay (OK, maybe a $20 co-pay, but you get my point!) The self-serve sauce bar was interesting with several things I'd never seen, such as pickled onions and something thick and orange. I stuck with selections to which I'd grown accustomed at other places. The medium sauces were flat in flavor. The hot, mama-mia type of sauce was killer hot and shouldn't be offered to children or senior adults. Not sure who would enjoy that. It was SO hot that all you could taste was heat. If there was a tomato or pickle, or even a shot of tequila in there, you would NOT have tasted it! Well, I am still alive! Curiosity certainly did not kill THIS cat! LOL! read more

I have no complaints! Great food and service. The salsa bar is amazing. The Sweet tea is soooo good. The Manager Margarita is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I love this food. I came here for lunch on a Wednesday and was very happy with my order of 3 tacos (suadero, carnitas, and al pastor) which came with chips and was $11. I think that is a fair price and also really enjoyed the tacos! They had a nice amount of cilantro and onions, and the meat was very moist. I loved the pineapple on the Al pastor, which was my favorite. Also loved the corn tortillas that did not fall apart and were the perfect size. The service was quick with very little hassle. Also loved the salsa bar with limes and radishes, as well as salsa for every spice level. I will be back to try the Cochinita pibil, barbacoa and chorizo. The only thing I was confused about is that several people told me they had birria, but I didn't see it on the menu. Next time I will ask! read more
