First, do not hesitate going here because they are tucked in a strip mall! Actually, I would eat here BEFORE going grocery shopping at Lowe's Foods and buying everything in sight because you made the mistake of grocery shopping hungry!!! The staff was very kind from the moment we walked in the door, while being attended to at our table, and again when leaving! Because I ordered Onion Rings as my two sides, she offered to bring them out early as an appetizer (we absolutely did that). My ribs were covered in sauce. The same sauce that is on the table. The Her-Q-Les sandwich is really the only item close to worth its price. Prices for everything is a bit high and you don't get a side with it. I think you could sacrifice a whopping $.89 for fries to come with that price. Decent decor on the inside, pretty clean. Service was a bit slow. Took nearly 10 minutes to get seen after we sat. Then another 12 minutes to get drinks. Servers are nice and very respectful. Overall, if you gotta get your fill, get that her-Q-Les sammich. Otherwise for that price I'll just head to Camel city. Was pretty impressed by this somewhat remote (to me) Little Richard's location! I ended up coming here with my parents who now live somewhat in the area, as we were looking for a place with some good protein options that wasn't too far from their new home. Little Richard's at this point is a local chain that started out in Clemmons, which is about 20 minutes away from here. They serve a wide variety of BBQ, and I like that, because you don't feel shoehorned into one particular style or sauce. Speaking of variety, you have to love the wide selection of meats, sides, and sauces, ready for you to mix and match to your pleasure. I also love that whenever you order a tray, they really fill it up! You won't go hungry. It's kind of their signature to make sure your tray is filled end to end with stuff, they'll just keep piling hushpuppies in there until it is. This does not hurt my feelings. On my visit, I had the brisket plate with fried okra and slaw. On arrival, I was really happy with the amount of brisket for the price. The brisket was pretty tender, the texture was a little on the pot-roasty side as opposed to fresh from the pit sliced brisket, but I know how hard that is to maintain unless you are just churning out customers and brisket like crazy. It was solid. Okra and hushpuppies were great. I did not care for my slaw, it was way to heavy on mayo, i prefer a lighter coating with a bit more vinegar as well. Looking around the table, some people liked what they got, others were fine but said they wouldn't order them again. We enjoyed playing with the different sauces and trying things. In the end, this isn't a priority stopover for me, but I would definitely come here if in the area again and my folks suggest it. read more

The only reason im giving this location a 1 star is because the ppl working in the kitchen were cursing in Spanish and i was sitting very close to the kitchen. I went by myself but if i had gone with my family my wife and my daughter it would have been a problem there. He was not just cursing in Spanish but using very foul language, i go there to eat and have a great time by myself or with my family NOT to listen to this kind of conversation at a family restaurant. Little Richard do better hire ppl with a bit more of commence sense, or more educated they are NOT at home for them to speak like that were their is families eating there. I have eaten here many times and I don't remember the slaw being so soupy. Since slaw goes with all forms of bbq, I will not eat it here. Slaw is a deal breaker for me. They have so much variety of meats and sides. I have been particularly enjoying the chopped BBQ salad lately but I also like to order a meat with sides plate. They have the best chopped BBQ sandwich and the buns are so buttery and delicious. Pro-tip - add pickles and banana peppers to your BBQ salad and thank me later. YUM! I came here on 2/9/21 with my co worker for lunch around 2pm. We were in the area for work and was so hungry! This restaurant is in a little shopping center. When we went inside, it wasn't that just and we were sat promptly. Our waitress was Savannah. She was attentive and friendly. We were gonna get food keto style but ultimately decided not to. I really wanted to get my money's worth. I got the smoked chicken with collards and baked beans. It was all delicious! My co worker for the chopped pork Bbq with collards and Mac n cheese. She stated that she enjoyed her food. It came with hush puppies. They provided butter and it was so good! The food came out fairly quickly after ordering, which was wonderful because we were sooooo hungry!!! Covid wise, masks are required and worn by staff. Stopped by to try it out with my two boys after a basketball game. Staff was friendly but our table needed an extra wipe down as it was sticky when we sat down. Our server was great and took good care of us. We had the BBQ cheese fries to start off and they were really good. The boys had a hotdog and chicken legs and both were pretty much typical for what you would expect. I ordered the LRB wrap with shaved brisket. I like that it was pressed and had the grill marks to prove it. The only issue I had with it was that due to being hot pressed, the lettuce and tomato inside got hot making them mushy. It would be great to have the crisp cold veggies to help contrast with the warm meat. One of the stars of the meal though was their sweet tea... it was extra good! I wanted to try a new BBQ place and this place was good. They had a selection of BBQ sauces and I won't go into those as that is very subjective. The meats were great. I tried the smoked wings with no sauce and they were fantastic! I got the 3 meat plate. I chose the sausage, chopped pork, and ribs with a side of BBQ slaw and green beans. The service was a horrible. our entire visit took almost an hour and a half. For LUNCH! At the most there were two other occupied tables. Our waitress had no other tables, just us. after a ridiculous wait time for our food, we had to send someone to go get her to get our ticket. then a rude 17 year old employee with an attitude (an apparently hurt feelings) told us we needed to be nice the waitress, because she was having a bad day. then continue on to the cashier that charged us twice for drinks and said there was nothing he could do about it because he didn't know how to take it off??? Oh and the manager, has absolutely no clue on what good customer service looks like. This place is a disgrace. Tried this place for the first time about 7/30 on a Saturday night. only three or four tables occupied. Both wife and I had the two meat platters. Sausage, chicken legs and brisket. All were lukewarm and tasted like it was the end of the day. Same for the sides which included okra, slaw, baked beans and fries. Hush puppies came as a standard and they were cold and hard. The sauce is so Sox. The only brought spot was our server. She was really sweet. When we went to pay the young lady asked us how everything w as and we responded "just okay at best." This was our first visit to this new (opened in 2012) location of this Clemmons based barbecue chain - there are 4 locations in all, including Yadkinville & Mt Airy. This is a nice place - clean & bright, with retro signs and ads on the walls, and dark wood booths. All four locations cook their own pork, and they do it daily - so you're getting fresh pig here, and there will be some slight differences in the end product, as well. They cook shoulders over night, but they use hickory chips only - no split logs or charcoal, so there is a limited amount of smokiness to the finished product. You do smell the smoky when you step out of the car, which is nice but strange in this new, modern shopping center location. The Chopped Plate ($7.69) comes with 2 sides and bread. - you can get the barbecue Sliced or Chunky (coarse chopped I guess), as well - and you can request some "Outside Brown", which is always cool. They also offer BBQ Chicken, Ribs, and Texas Beef Brisket. The chop here is a medium one, giving nice texture to very tender, moist meat, which comes ouit of the kitchen very well sauced, in fact as heavily sauced as any 'cue I've encountered in North Carolina, regardless of the style of the barbecue. All in all, this is very good Lexington style BBQ, and the sauce is excellent with more available on the table - they bring the bottle out warm!. The sauce has some nice heat, which will slowly builds as you eat. The offer both a BBQ Slaw and Cole Slaw, both nice. The Hushpuppies are small & round, with a nice outside crust, tender & moist inside, hint of onion - this is a very good HP. We tried the Hot Dog ($2.19) and this is a nice dog - toasted bun, tasty chili, decent weiner. The Cheeseburger ($4.29) is 1/3 lb, buit is really only average in taste, and is a bit over priced. The FFs are simply horrible - ridged logs without taste. The Homemade Chips ($1.99) are excellent - thin, crispy, loaded with flavor - the accompanying Ranch Dressing is bland. Very friendly service, though time out of the kitchen is a bit longer than most BBQ joints - our order took 25 minutes, no one around us did any better. Much to bring us back though, and they're open for lunch on Sunday. read more

Our company had a catering order due at noon today for our corporate visitors. This order consisted of 4 lbs brisket and 4lbs of chopped BBQ with fixing and pan of peach cobbler. We called at noon when food hadn't been delivered and was told it would be delivered shortly. Order finally showed up at 12:38pm! To our surprise neither the brisket nor chopped BBQ were placed in serving pans but plastic containers! No plates; serving or eating utensils was provided and there no buns for the chopped BBQ. Came here on a Friday at 4:00 for the first time and the restaurant was less than half full. Fair prices for the quality of the food and portions. Half of my hush puppies were old and cold while the other half were hot and fresh. Nice waitress, and super quick service. Came here for an authentic NC bbq experience and little Richards got it done. We had the two meat platter with brisket and chopped bbq and sides of hush puppies, bbq slaw, and Mac and cheese, and a salad with smoked chicken. The brisket was the standout from this meal- tender, crispy on the edges and so flavorful! I could not stop eating this and barely touched the sides. The smoked chicken on the salad was also some of the best smokiest bbq I've had. As someone who loves sauces and puts them on almost everything, it has to be said that I didn't use dressing or much of any sauces here- the meat had so much flavor it didn't need anything else. A huge order of hush puppies came with the meal and my boyfriend who never eats hush puppies couldn't resist eating them- he said they were the best he's had. The service here was over the top from the moment we walked in the door- everyone was friendly and helpful to ensure we had a great experience. Definitely will be back on our next NC trip! read more

This month I ventured here for lunch. I was seated right away. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered brisket, ribs (dry) and sausage. My sides were hot chips and coleslaw. The food arrived quickly. They give you a fork wrapped in a napkin. But when the food arrived, I saw that the brisket was cut extra thick, about two pencil widths, over a half inch. There is no way you can eat it without a knife, so I had to ask for one. The same is true with the sausage, no way to eat it without a knife. The brisket was heavily smoked with a large ring, but a bit dry and difficult due to it's thickness. I really don't see the need for brisket to be cut so thick. The ribs were better, but they were finished with a dry rub that made them taste over seasoned. As I was digging into the plate, I reached under my chair to pull it closer to the table. When I did, my ring finger encountered a wood screw protruding from the bottom of the seat and it made me bleed. The server brought me a Band-aid. The cole slaw and hush puppies were alright, but the hot chips had a kettle cook hardness to them that I don't care for. A manager never approached me about me cutting my finger on the chair. When I went up front to pay, I asked the cashier if my server had mentioned my injury to her. She said she did and asked what happened. I explained it to her as well. I gave both of them ample opportunity to do something about it, but nothing. So I asked for a discount and she did cut my bill by about one third. Over all, not a great experience. read more

I went in there today to get a BBQ plate and it was good average serving, Tara was my waitress, and she did an excellent job on waiting my table, she kept my tea filled and came back every so often to make sure I was OK. The biggest problem I seen and felt was the Temperature was extremely hot in there and I was suffering while trying to eat, not the first time experiencing that. I dont think a dog should have to suffer in heat like that. I think Management should at least keep temperature within reason as to where staff and customers could work and eat comfortably, and I think its overpriced! read more

There's not much I have to complain about here the service was excellent and the food was delicious. The server brought us out of sample of their bbq slaw which was nice. I had the wings and some smoked sausage. Very good. As you all know no restaurant is perfect so there were a few things that I thought that they could improve on just to make it that much better. I felt that my rolls would have been better if they were a little toasty and maybe with some honey everybody loves honey rolls am I right? Or at least have it as a suggestion. The rest of my table really enjoyed the Alabama white sauce and I did too but I've had better in Alabama. They also had some really good homemade chips but I thought they would've been tastier if they were fresh out the fryer and warm. The most disappointing thing about this restaurant was the mac & cheese. I felt like it had no flavor and it was clearly the thing that they put the least effort into. I also had hush puppies which were delicious but could have been warmer as well. All in all this place was great and I mean great. Don't take my critiques as a deterrent.
