Little Saigon is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the Philadelphia area. The food is excellent, the service is quick, the prices are reasonable, and it's a family owned business with very, very, friendly people. The food is excellent every time we visit, which usually happens once or twice a month at least. When friends and family visit from out of town, this is my go-to place to take them for dinner! Usually we get the fried spring rolls with fish sauce (a sweet, tangy, and spicy dip), the beef in grape leaves with vermicelli noodles on the side (topped with chopped peanuts and garnished with pickled carrots, a few lettuce leaves, and, you guessed it, more fish sauce!), and two bowls of spicy Hue soup (spicy broth, very thin slices of lean beef, lots of rice noodles, and comes with a plate of bean sprouts to throw in along with a lime or two to squeeze over it). The bowls of soup are huge - you won't need to order anything else, but you'll want to anyway! Their fried noodles are great, the stir-fried dishes are delicious (I'm particularly a fan of the Chicken Ginger), and they have a variety of interesting hot and cold drinks that you won't find anywhere else. Absolutely loved this place. Began the evening with an order of the spring rolls - a much better take than your traditional limp rolls. These spring rolls had a great crispy rice paper with hearty mushrooms and glass noodles on the inside. One entree consisted of a fried egg noodle with pork, chicken, shrimp, and squid with a medley of veggies. The proteins were all fresh and flavorful with the egg noodles being an excellent compliment with the chili sauce on the table. The other was the star of the show - a garlic chicken with steamed rice. Perfectly tender and seasoned chicken with snow peas, bell pepper, onion and jalapeño. The ideal dish for anyone look to try Vietnamese beyond pho. We ended the night with a delicious durian shake which was fresh, light, and delicious. Incredibly friendly staff who made you feel right at home in their restaurant. Little Saigon is Vietnamese food at its best! I have dined at Vietnamese establishments all over Philadelphia and Little Saigon is by far the best Vietnamese food in the Philadelphia area! I highly recommend number 1 and number 29: The spring rolls and the spicy beef soup. #1 is crispy to perfection and is accompanied by savory dipping sauce. #29 is a mildly spicy thin-sliced beef soup with thin rice noodles and a wonderful cilantro flavor. #29 is similar to PHO, but is slightly different in flavor due to the light cilantro undertones. The Beef stuffed with ginger is heavenly and the curry vegetables are out of this world as well! The staff is friendly and very accomodating. There is a parking lot right next to Little Saigon, which is well-lit and safe. Non-city dwellers accoustomed to dining in the suburbs might find the 69th street area a bit intimidating, but Little Saigon is certainly located in a safe spot, right next to the Upper darby Township building and library. read more

We have been coming to little saigon for as long as I can remember. The kitchen is absolutely spotless... I don't know how he keeps it so clean! The decor is outdated but what makes Little Saigon a hidden gem is the food! Try the crab soup, spring rolls, chicken on a stick, [shrimp on bamboo (I don't think it is on the menu any longer:()], the pan-fried noodles, and the curry dishes! The ginger dressing on the iceberg salad they bring out before appetizers is awesome as well. read more

Wonderful restaurant in Upper Darby! Their food, especially the pho, is delicious and the service here is remarkable. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for a few months now and stopped by on the later side last night. We ordered the beef wrapped in grape leaves and were told they ran out, and asked if we wanted the spring rolls instead (also delicious) so we agreed. Turns out Han, the owner, was cooking in the kitchen that night, recognized us, and made a fresh batch of the beef with grape leaves just for us. Terrific service and we'll definitely be back again especially as the weather gets colder - perfect pho weather! read more

Our favorite Vietnamese restaurant on the East Coast and one of our favorite restaurants, period. Small, quiet and casual, with fresh delicious food and great prices. This family-run restaurant has been here for 20 years. The Vietnamese-American hosts know how to make you welcome. Food is cooked fresh to ordder.. BYOB. Order from the menu or ask hosts Edward and Helen what to order. Spring and summer rolls (summer rolls are not fried) and Vietnamese pancake (w. shrimp and pork, or vegetarian) are the best. My husband loves their vegetables with tofu in curry sauce and their calamari in curry sauce--he asks for it HOT. I love the mini shishkebob entree -- a pork, a chicken and a beef shishkebob, rice noodles, and a spring roll. Prices are lovely and fair. Big parking lot right across the street for $2. This has become our Friday night after-work favorite place for great food and quiet relaxing atmosphere. Try the French iced coffee and the hot jasmine tea. read more

this use to be the only place in upper darby to eat Vietnamese food. so unless you felt like driving into the city - this was it. well now there are so many options in or close to ud that i don't feel like this place is as good as i use to think. its family owned (nice to support local small business) and they are very friendly. food is good - not great. i've never been a big fan of the fried spring rolls. i dont like the wrapping paper they use. like i said its good. but i just choose to go somewhere else read more

At the urging of a few folks I tried little Saigon today for the first time in many years. In truth I think the food was deserving of three stars but the owner was so nice I'll stretch a half star for him. Went for staples so I could really judge...goi cuon and pho with beef, tendon, and beef brisket. The goi cuon had one plus and one minus. On the plus side it was made to order...shrimp was still warm and actually had a little flavor...on the minus side, it was rolled kind of sloppy, and contained only the couple nice shrimp, a traditional slice of pork, lots of vermicelli and iceberg lettuce. No herbs, no carrot...just missing that little pop of something. The pho was a similar story. Plus side...decent broth, really good and plentiful tendon. Minus side...rare beef wasn't rare...no basil...brisket was bland...only sriracha and crushed chili oil on the table. No sambal or sugar. Again it was missing a little something. Definitely fresh and decent food...but not spectacular as the other reviews would lead me to believe. I'll have to try the bun my friend recommended next time and see if that is better, but for pho and summer rolls it's unfortunately not my preference. read more

Having eaten my moms pho since I could chew, I can be pretty picky about how my pho tastes. I was around the area and found this place on yelp so gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to meet the owner, who was extremely friendly. My husband and I ordered spring rolls and pho. The spring rolls are different from most other vietnamese places because of the wrap used-- it is the owner's mother's recipe and they are from the old northern parts. It was different but we really liked it! The fish sauce and garlic sauce was delicious. The pho broth was the perfect blend of sweet and herbs. Overall, we really enjoyed the place. It is small and not fancy but the food definitely hit the spot. read more

Had to give another review because boy did they upgrade from last time. The food got a lot better. Have to admit little Saigon makes better Pho than Anh hong. I was very surprised. Wish both places would give u more meat in the pho for how much they charge. Saigon way to go for improving your food. Will be going there more often. read more

This is definitely not the best pho I've ever had but the owner was very nice. I went on a week day after just shopping at Hmart. I was the only customer there. I ordered my pho and it took at least 10 mins before it came out (which is a long time). If you've been to other Vietnamese rest. you know how fast to comes. Anyway, the noodles were overlooked and I did not find the broth anything to brag about. Overall, it was ok. I will go back another time to give it a second try and hope it will be better. read more

We started going here back in Madam Saito's day, early 80s. The food is always delicious, the service is prompt and the family who own the restaurant are very friendly. Little Saigon is my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Delaware County and my favorite Vietnamese restaurant anywhere! The food is delicious and authentic and fresh. The vegetables are crisp and delicious. The spring rolls are amazing. I love the Bun. And they make this unbelievable ginger dressing over lettuce and sprouts. I can't say enough!
