Running errands the whole day my family and I got too hungry to get back home and prepare something. I was craving for Vietnamese (and no where near South Philly) so we decided to stop by at Hanoi's Pho. I remember going here long time ago when it was a different Vietnamese restaurant. Upon entering I realized that the lighting was a bit dim, and tables and chairs looked outdated. There were enough customers so we decided to stay. The service was pretty good, just two younger men manning the front. My daughter ordered pho and she said it was pretty good; I ordered house vermicelli, and it was just okay (I had it better elsewhere); and my husband ordered some type of a clay pot pork belly and shrimp dish. Stopped by here for dinner after signing our taxes. I got the spicy pho and the wife got a more traditional one. She remarked that the soup was kinda...bland? I tried a spoonful and it really does need more of everything. Like maybe that spice bag was too small for the amount of broth they make? Anyway, my soup since it was spicy wasn't too bad. Lots and lots of meat in there though. Wished the noodles weren't as firm. Also got the spring rolls for apps. Man, they are tiny. For $6.50, I'd say it's a hard pass for three thin spring rolls. Barely anything inside but they were nice and crispy though. I didn't like that the sriracha and hoisin sauce lids were kinda nasty. When I moved here 3 years ago I spotted this place and sadly I had not gone because they had 3 stars. Not sure why they have such low stars I mean this is authentic Pho at fair prices with huge portions! They don't skimp on the meats and veggies for that beautifully fragrant and tasty broth. I got the brisket pho and the meat was tender and again they are generous. Lots of veggies for you to dress up the pho how you like it. Their spring rolls are great! This placed gave me life! So much so that I went the next day and got the brisket pho again and the summer rolls. The rolls were huge and the peanut sauce thick and tasty. This place needs more stars. read more

Surprisingly decent Vietnamese food in the Havertown area. The broken rice dishes and pho were both good! Super comforting and flavorful dishes. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. Service was friendly and attentive. Bathroom was pretty dirty which could use improvement. The other speciality entrees were not too noteworthy, but I do recommend a classic rice with grilled meat or pho from Hanoi's. read more

I love Vietnamese food and had the pleasure of attending dinners and parties at my Vietnamese friend's houses. Pho, I hear, is not a fast and simple to make and like Italian gravy it can vary in taste based on the ingredients and how it's made. Ordered well done flank pho. The rice noodles were thicker and not soft - I'm use to soft thin noodles and the meat was randomly sliced thick vs very thin sliced . Unfortunately the meat was chewy and tough and should belong in a stir fry. Broth had a greasy layer on top and tasted greasy and bland. Noodles were hard and chewy. After a few bites , unfortunately I stopped eating and as much I hate to waste food - no doggy bag. Maybe I'm missing something- like this is the style of cooking but not my style. read more

I was missing home cooked meals and decided to try the place out after a friend suggested it. Legit pho place and taken me by surprise considering it's in Delco. The pho is comparable to places in Philly. I recommend coming here. I also ordered a clay pot fish dish, which was alright. Not the same as from home. Overall, good place for Vietnamese food. If I was in Philly, I'd go to Chinatown for Pho, but in Delco this is the next best thing(that I know of so far). Hanoi's is my dinner go to. I usually get some sort of Pho and Papaya or Lotus salad. I've yet to be disappointed with these items. The biggest downside is that the salads can run out later in the day or they may not have an ingredient like tilapia. Also, the salad dressing is delicious but definitely leaves me parched (not sure if it's the sodium/vinegar content). The Pho is flavorful in every bit. The greens and lotus roots pack a crisp bite. The fried rice doesn't ooze oil. Maybe a bowl of Pho is cheaper in Chinatown, but considering Hanoi's proximity, I don't mind paying the extra. read more

This is the place to go in the suburbs if you want Pho. Ordered the Pho Deluxe with everything in it. Soup is tasty and not watered down but gets a bit thirsty after the meal... MSG?? Another ordered the spicy pho but this one tasted a bit watered down but spicy. Generous portions of meat and most importantly TENDER meat, not chewy and tough. The briskets have a good balance of fat making it melt in your mouth. The fried spring rolls are quite skinny for the price and basically just a slab of minced meat covered in fried skin. Service is good and friendly. Even wished us Happy NY when we left. We used to go to Pho Street but no more as its more expensive now and meat is chewy. I have a sad. A few weeks ago I learned my favorite Vietnamese restaurant was being sold to new owners. Oh, please, I asked, please don't change the menu. *sigh*. They did. The former Saigon Harbor is now Hanoi Pho. Inside, nothing has changed setup wise, and the same excellent wait staff are there. Friendly, professional and responsive. Good move by the new restaurant. The menu has definitely changed, both with the addition of some Thai items and also a build out of some Vietnamese, including (duh) more Pho and also bubble tea. The Patriarch and I headed over for an early dinner. He ordered the steamed vegetables with rice, and I got my favorite Vietnamese chicken fried rice along with spring rolls. The spring rolls were great, a promising sign. The Patriarch got a mango smoothie which he also thought was very good. The entrees...flavorless. Steamed vegetables really needed the peanut sauce to taste like anything, and oddly, included was fried tofu. Okay. The Chicken fried rice was likewise flavorless, lacking vegetables and egg. Even the chicken was bland. A bowl of fish sauce made it palatable, but not really save it. We mentioned the blandness, and the servers as well as manager were gracious about it. They offered a free smoothie which was nice. I hope, though, they'll get their seasonings down and amp up the flavors. Yikes. They can't charge this much for shitty food. Everything is over priced and less than mediocre food. The spring rolls (3 pieces for almost $7) came with two pieces of bruised iceberg lettuce. Honestly, lettuce doesn't even cost much. Not sure what they are doing here but they don't deserve to serve viet food. Not the best Vietnamese Restaurant in Delco Better to get Vietnamese Food in the city than this place and it's cheaper!!! Updated review as of Summer of 2021 My fifth visit decided to take my little sisters to try something new ... & boom a fly in my pho just my luck with another Vietnamese place but I truly love the cultures food . My sisters, let's just say they were scared & didn't want to stay so I ate the spring rolls & they refunded my soup plus told me to come back for a free pho on them Months later I decided to use the freebie because I was working in the area we & order the exact same pho shrimp with extra white onions .. they tried to make me pay for the shrimp & onions smh I stated I'm not paying for anything because this was the exact meal I ordered last time that was ruined hints the free pho written on the back of a business card .. they put up a fight but pardoned it & I've never been back since .. they're not worth it & stay away from pho streets franchises as well my new favorite place is called Oriential Pearl in Chichester they are great very personable & get to know there costumers .. Just moved to Havertown from living in the hustle and bustle of Central Philadelphia, great town! It is a rainy day, so what's the best way to heat yourself up on a cold day? Pho. We chose Hanoi's Pho because it was very close to our home. Restaurant Parking? Yes! Our server was very off, though. Nice guy but I must say he was very fidgety. Maybe he drank one too many cups of coffee, dunno. We started off with a classic, grilled BBQ pork Bahn Mi. The meal started off on a bad note, the Bahn Mi had almost no pork in it! 60% bread guys, come on. I had to get the waiter to bring us more pork. (Pictures of Bahn Mi are the ones with more pork.) Then I got the Pho with grilled pork and shrimp wonton with rice noodles. This soup really impressed me! The broth (read my other reviews, broth is very important) was not very flavorful as others I have tried, but they made up for it by introducing a lot of noodles and pork pieces. The check came at around 60 bucks, not too shabby. Definitely will be back on another rainy day like this one! read more

This place was decent tasting but prices were steep for a Vietnamese place. Their portioning was smaller than I'm used to for a few extra dollars. The food was okay, nothing stellar but not bad either. We came in on a slow evening, so service was great. The servers were polite and spoke both Vietnamese and English. The restaurant was clean, smelled tasty, and neatly decorated. They switched off between playing Vietnamese music and American top 100s songs, which was slightly confusing but I believe they were only trying to be inclusive. The appetizers are super expensive($7-9 range). For an $8 appetizer you can drive 5 more mins down west chester pike and get yourself an $8 large bowl of tasty pho. I added extra meat to my pho, but it still only had a couple of slices compared to elsewhere. The grilled chicken tasted fine but the quantity and quality were also less compared to other cheaper Vietnamese places. read more
