    Fish tacos

We are regulars at this establishment across town. The food is always good and consistent. I always order the fish tacos on the skillet (they are normally fried) and it usually takes a while to get your order. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But the food always takes time. Don't ho there starving like us. I love the cocktail because it isn't sweet. I guess they use Clamato and not ketchup which makes it better imho.

Great atmosphere great service and delicious meals. This place is a nice place to come enjoy the beach while you are stuck in a dismal heat stricken desert.

I went to this place with my family today. Looking at plates they were delivered on tables, it looks like their portions good. The staff was kind and courteous. The place is over-crowded, there are too many tables and they are too close together. If you have accessibility issues, this is definitely a tight squeeze, I could do it with crutches, because a lot of kind people let through, as there is only one narrow path in and out. I don't think a wheelchair would be be to navigate the place. Our food took quite a long time, about 45 min. Then it took quite a while for us to get our check. The place was so crowded that we didn't drink refills in a timely manner. My family felt food was good but the chips were a little stale...

It was empty when we arrived at 1130 am Friday

I have never had a plantain dish that I liked, until I tried their fried plantain, wow it was amazing. I wish I'd known the drinks didn't have free refills, I would have had water. It was probably on the menu, but since they don't go off the menu (instead a board tells you what's available on that day) I didn't pay as much attention to it as I should have. Our server was the only one working. Out front and in the kitchen. It took a while to get the food because of that, and she wasn't as attentive to the table because she was also busy cooking. That in mind, the service was excellent.

I am from San Antonio and this is my 2nd time coming to this restaurant…read more The first time I was in awe, I was speaking to lady up front in Creole and even picked up a bottle of Haitian Rum. The food was amazing, I mean I couldn't stop eating it and couldn't wait to come back again.... Fast forward to a year later (boy was I excited. Because we do not have a Haitian Restaurant out there so of course, I'm ready to dive right in again... Immediately after entering, I didn't see the face that was there the last time and notice that the menu that was on the wall was not there and something was different from the last time... we looked at the menu and noticed something different right away.......... The had Haitian Food, Jamaican Food, and African Food, didn't really think anything of it and just ordered the Griot, Oxtail, and the Jerk Chicken. When the food came out I realized that nothing really looked the way it should... The Griot plate was plain, no salad and no rice (we had to tell them to give us some rice).. There are two different styles of the Griot (simple or Complete) if you know , you know.... The OxTail wasn't bad but not exactly what I was use to growing up in Florida... As we were driving away from the restaurant is when I noticed the name of the restaurant had changed to "faith African Cuisine" and my first response to that was ...." There is NOOOO way you can be a master of all three of the most amazing food you will ever eat and have it served in one location"... oh, the Piklies was not a hit AT ALL... it's bad. Bad.... I believe the previous owners sold and if they did, they did the Haitian community a disservice by not delivering the quality food they were use to delivering.. So the plate was mixed of all three cultures..... the rice was African, the meat was either Haitian or Jamaican and the plantains were sweet not Green fried plantains... I normally don't write bad reviews but I was very dissatisfied over all..

We got everything to go and it was outstandingly delicious. Here's what we tried: -Pastel en hoja that's filled with sauteed eggplant. it's masa is made with plantains and/ or other tubers, then cooked in plantain/ green banana leaf. It was delicious. -Mofongo. We got Mofongo solo without meat- A dish made from fried and mashed green plantains and garlic sauce. It's so far the best mofongo I have ever had. The pieces of fried green plantains were super freshly fried and the mofongo had strong garlic flavors. Vegetable empanada: To our surprise the vegetables were loose inside and were pickled/ tart which was delicious. The empanada dough was so fresh and so delicious and we both felt we never had such a seriously good and fresh empanada. This place made a super strong start to a food-er trip! Very vegan and vegetarian friendly. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. Customer Review - Anointed Cuisine African Restaurant…read moreLocation: 3140 N Lee Trevino Dr, El Paso, TX 79936 Date of Experience: September 19, 2025 Time: 2:21 pm I am writing to share my recent experience with Anointed Cuisine African Restaurant and unfortunately, it was very disappointing. I arrived in El Paso from Phoenix, Arizona on a work trip and as I always do, decided to order from this restaurant because I was excited to enjoy authentic African food. I intentionally did not eat anything earlier in the day so I could fully enjoy my meal once it arrived. When my food was delivered, I quickly realized it was not what I ordered. The food had been prepared incorrectly for the amount charged. I immediately called the restaurant to raise the issue but nothing was done to address it. I specifically asked to speak with the owner but was told she was in a meeting. Nearly an hour later, the owner called me back. To my shock, instead of listening to my concern or asking what I had ordered and how the situation could be corrected, the owner spent almost 7 minutes speaking down to me in a rude and condescending manner. She boasted about having opened many restaurants across the country, told me I could "go to hell," and then hung up on me without giving me a chance to respond. At no point did she acknowledge the mistake, take accountability or even attempt to resolve the issue. This is not the first time I have had a negative experience with this establishment. In the past: * I was served bad fish and had to report it to an employee who apologized but the issue was never addressed further. * A previous order of mine was canceled by the owner simply because DoorDash had credited me $15. It is extremely unprofessional and troubling that a restaurant owner would treat customers this way. Running a successful business is not only about serving food but also about respecting and valuing customers. Good customer service requires patience, humility, accountability and a willingness to make things right when mistakes occur. Sadly, this owner demonstrated none of these qualities. I am rating this restaurant 0 stars based on repeated bad experiences, poor customer service and lack of professionalism. I will also be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to document these concerns. For the sake of their customers and their business reputation, I strongly recommend that the owner and management team take steps to: 1. Learn and implement proper customer service practices. 2. Address food quality issues seriously. 3. Handle complaints with fairness, respect and professionalism. Until that happens, I cannot recommend Anointed Cuisine African Restaurant to anyone seeking a positive dining experience.
