Hubby picked this restaurant to celebrate his Birthday and the name got me good! The service is phenomenal and the food are amazingly good. I had shroom soup and the taste and soup temperature is just perfect! And I had their pear and figs arugula salad with grilled chicken! Amazing food and friendly staff. A Little Something Different puts a unique spin on some classics. Located in beautiful downtown Mount Dora, there is plenty of street parking and several lots nearby. A free shuttle is even offered on weekends. Offering indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant has collaborated with the Tea Exchange across the street to quench your thirst, with a delicious iced tea. Justin is a great server, and take a moment to meet Nikki the owner, who is behind the fresh ideas. The chicken Marsala is delicious, as is the turkey (which uses house roasted whole turkeys). The pulled pork is tender and while I haven't tried it yet the spaghetti and meatball sandwich is next on my list. Food was okay. I was really expecting to be hit with a crazy flavor bomb being that the sandwich had roast beef, turkey, bacon, cheese and a blueberry horseradish. It's not that it was bad, but the sandwich was cold- cold meat chunks, cold sliced cheese- only the bread had been toasted. My sister and I split the full sandwich- $32 total with tip just tap water and bag of chips with the sandwich. Service was good, the waitress and hostess were nice- we were the only patrons in the restaurant at that time. read more

Our server was great, food average, seating is crowded too close together, especially when there's a DOG allowed inside under a diner's table. I believe this is in violation of FL Health Dept regulations and seemed very unsanitary. And no, it was not a Service animal. read more

Different...and divine. I remember when, years ago, this location boasted a seafood restaurant. LSD is certainly an improvement - an attractive dining space featuring excellent food made fresh and served quickly. That mushroom soup (available in either a cup or bowl) is what I will return for in the cooler temps - soothing and tasty! And I have managed to find my new favorite salad (arugala, fresh berries, pears, goat cheese, and onion). Perfectly refreshing and more perfect at the end of Summer. Paired with my favorite red wine (Sangue di Giuda), I thoroughly enjoyed lunch today. And shout out to my server, who was really hustling to take care of everyone while clearing tables while seating the next patron. I highly recommend bringing friends and family to visit and savor. This review is a mixed bag, so here goes: Service: 5 stars Food: 4 stars Value: 3 stars Restaurant is a fun, quirky vibe and clean. The menu is interesting and varied. My friend had the small version of the lasagna and she really liked it. To start, I had the mushroom soup, which was yummy and flavorful. Then for my entree, I had the Drunken Scotsman, and I found it just meh. The sausages were tasty, but it came with a large portion of mashed potatoes covered in beer cheese, sprinkled with raw purple cabbage garnish. The waitress said the dish came with cabbage, but it was a garnish, not a side. They need to change the menu description on the mashed potatoes and call them that. It just wasn't my dish, and if I go back, I'd order something else. My only complaint is a can of soda there is $4.00 and there are no refills, so it's another $4.00 if you want another can of soda. That seems excessive to me. I wasn't clear on that there would be another $4.00 charge on the bill if I wanted more soda, so that's my fault for not listening better (my friend said it was mentioned). Still, doesn't leave a great feeling at the end of the meal. read more

A recent visit to Mount Dora on a Monday discovered that many shops and restaurants are closed. Fortunately for us a window shopping excursion introduced us to 2 local diners who were on their 3rd visit to this month old restaurant. Their food viewed through the window looked great. They motioned it was equally delicious. There is nothing better than a "live" word of mouth endorsement. Our selections included a crisp and tasty house salad and a delicious Caesar salad. Main course of pulled pork with creamy homemade mac and cheese, coleslaw with cornbread as well as an order of the Drunken Scotsman consisting of sliced rope sausage on a bed of cheesy mashed potatoes. Portions are large. Unfortunately our haste to taste our food detoured our main course photo effort. Server Leslie made us feel welcome with her terrific service. We've been fortunate to find great dining choices recently and today was no different but simply a "Little Something Different ". Certainly a great option for food in Mount Dora. My wife and I spent the day at Mt Dora and were fortunate to find this little gem of a restaurant. We started our meal with Potato Boats which were amazing. The soup of the day was creamy broccoli and we both found it to be delicious. Our main courses the LSD Marsala and The Porker were equally tasty. We finished the meal with desserts, My wife had the Lemon Berry Mascarpone and I had the Basque Cheesecake. My compliments to Chef Nicole for a most pleasant dining experience and highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This was my first visit. I love salads and ordered the small Cobb salad. For a small it was a very generous portion.
