We just needed a place outside Union station to meet with a friend. Breakfast was over and there was nothing on the menu that was a small bite snack. I found this spot near Union Station to grab some lunch before getting on the train back home to Michigan. It's located inside an office building in the main floor lobby area. They have a lot of outdoor seating overlooking the river, but I was a bit warm so I opted to sit inside. I was worried I was low on time, so I ordered the turkey bacon wrap to go. It came out quickly and was packaged well to take over to the train station. The fries were really tasty, seasoned well and the perfect texture for me. The wrap itself was more on the "ok" side - the turkey wasn't really flavorful and the texture was a bit mushy. I did love the bacon, though - it was really thick and high quality. It did the trick for a quick lunch. I'd probably order again as they were fast during the lunch rush and a convenient spot for heading to the train station. read more

We came here to cool off after a day in the sun and I gotta say, it's nice. The outdoor seating is spacious as is the inside. The couches were clean, large, and placed in a way that felt welcoming for groups. I thought it was neat that instead of having multiple sinks inside the bathrooms, they have one sink in each individual bathroom as well as a row of sinks directly outside. So, everyone in the restaurant can wash their hands with ease. When it comes to food, I wasn't feeling a full meal, so I ordered the avocado toast. It was heavily topped with arugula, which I don't mind, but what put me off was the strong sour taste. I think lemon or lime juice was added. It could have been a nice touch, but way too much was used. Regardless, I finished it. Our server was nice, but could have been a little more attentive when it came to the checks. Not sure I'd make this my go-to dining spot, but definitely a "grab drinks with friends" spot! read more

Located conveniently steps from the station, you can pop in here while waiting for your train (as we did in our case), or on a day in the city as it is also pretty close to a few popular tourist destinations. Our waiter recommended the "Becky with the hood berries" cocktail to satisfy my sweet cravings and I loved it! We also tried the breakfast burrito (yum!) and the breakfast sandwich with sourdough bread. We also had a couple of beers as well before leaving. My group of 4 had a pretty odd experience here unfortunately. Service was very short/impatient, but I can understand that they are quite overwhelmed with the after work/happy hour crowd on a Thursday at 5:30! However, I ordered the frosé, and it was served as pictured. When I asked for a straw, I was told rather rudely there were "no straws or spoons" which I can't be understanding of. As you can see in the picture, the frosé can't be drank like a liquid - It's quite thick. So I resorted to spooning it with the lemon twist as my only option. I even made eye contact with a few others who ordered this at different tables with the same issue, so it wasn't just a misunderstanding with my server. At a minimum, this should've been communicated when I ordered the "drink". I definitely will not be returning after this uncomfortable experience and will try the other options in the area for happy hour with my coworkers. read more

One of the worst services I've ever had, to be frank. The food was alright but when I tell you it was like they couldn't be bothered and were in a hurry to go pick up a winning lottery ticket? Our actual female waitress was alright and calm. First off you have to practically wave in their face to get their attention. The hostess was nowhere to be found. I was directed to someone who didn't acknowledge me at all. And couldn't be bothered to ask if I needed help. They do not seem like they care about their jobs at all. The bad turning point was basically the male server who was in such a hurry to pick up our plates and was constantly reaching over our table. He was really on ten. The beer selection is good and service is efficient. In addition to beer, we ordered onion rings and chef's board. Both were good. I tried the onion rings, but mostly ate the Chef's Board. Feeling a "little toasted" while writing this review. So forgive me for any misspellings. Love the look and set up of this bar. Very spacious, with modern and trendy decorations. Located in the floor level of an office building on the river, so very convenient for those working in the Loop. Great selection of beers and cocktails. Came here today, a Wednesday, and it was 50% off chicken wings and whiskey. Got the lemon pepper wings, it was okay but doable. And also the cheese board. Can't go wrong with cheese. Really pleasant place for an after work happy hour - okay, don't mind if we do! Love the expansive back patio. Lots of seating, and giant umbrellas. The drinks were delicious. The Frose is tasty on a hot day, albeit it's a little weird using a spoon for a drink. Maybe offer a straw if you don't want to put them in the drinks automatically. The bathrooms are a bit weird. They have actual bidets, which I LOVE. However, don't have them in a place where the bathrooms are unisex, and there's pee all over the seat. I came here on a Friday after work with my family to celebrate Mother's Day a bit early. Since it was only 4:30pm, there were plenty of tables open. We asked the hostess if we could sit near the window, and she pointed out that these tables are reserved. We pointed out a couple more tables and she said those were being saved as well. Alrighty... so we sit at a table in the middle of the restaurant. While we were here we ordered some wine to start, the Chefs Board, and the Menage a Trois for the 4 of us. Upon receiving the Menage a Trois, we were told to let them know if we needed more bread for dipping. There is a lot of dip and only a couple pieces of bread per person, so we order 2 rounds of bread. Throughout the evening, we see our waiter maybe a couple times, but the most attentive worker here was the man working as the busboy (tattoos, dark hair). I wish we would have gotten his name because he was clearly the most hardworking. He really was putting in the work to make sure we had everything we needed, while our waiter on the other hand... Towards the end of the evening, our mother tries to tell the waiter that she was going to take the bill (mind you, it's Mother's Day and we were not letting her pay). I mouthed to the waiter to not worry about it, and that we'll take the check. He literally looks at us all and says, out loud "Wow- well this is getting intense. I'm going to leave now......" and walks away. Lol... WHAT. We all look at each other confused and honestly a bit offended. That was awkward. But at this point we're ready to get the bill and leave. By the time we flag down our waiter and get the bill, we take a look and it's almost $150 for 2 appetizers, and drinks for 4 people, mind you we did not have dinner and were still very hungry after. When we look closer, we were charged for extra bread with our appetizer. My brother makes note of this to our waiter, who in response, had nothing but attitude the entire exchange. Clearly realizing we were getting nowhere with him, my brother starts gathering his stuff as we are about to leave and just says 'alright, have a nice day'. The waiter replies back: 'No, YOU have a nice day'. We are ASTONISHED by this guy's attitude towards paying customers. After all of that, we all decided that we will never be back here. It's a shame because this place is easy for after work drinks- but for the price and the attitude of our waiter, there are 100 other places you can take your business. read more

Loved this place!!! What a find. I was looking for a spot close to Union Station to meet a friend for a holiday drink. Little Toasted is right across the street from the Jackson Blvd. entrance in the lobby of the Chase building. It's an expansive and stylish space with inviting decor and bar, table and high top seating with huge windows overlooking the courtyard. On this bone-chilling day we decided to sit near the window and pretend it was summer outside. The bartender was friendly - the place was empty for most of our visit so we got his undivided attention. He made some great drink suggestions, I tried "I Miss You Like Crazy" which is made with Old Barton and their own Watermelon cordial - excellent!! My friend switched over on her second round, it was that good. The menu was creative with a nice variety of breakfast items, apps, salads and sandwiches. We opted for the Fish & Chips (delicious) and the B.A.L.T. (very good as well). I ordered fries with my sandwich but got chips by mistake - turned out they were fantastic - homemade, crispy and just the right amount of salt. We really enjoyed our visit to Little Toasted and I can't wait to return for breakfast very soon. read more

First stop after rolling in to Chicago on the train. The avocado toast is so dang good! The arugula was fresh, avocado was perfectly ripe, everything seemed intentionally perfect. There were only 4 things on the menu for breakfast which was a bit of a bummer for my 10 year old. Also the waiter didn't seem to know how to answer my questions about allergens -- kind of important given that we have a peanut allergy. Also weird that the coffee was served in to-go cups.
