Fresh baked Fabulous bread, butter, olive oil, balsamic
Teri G.

Italian setting, ladies lunch, delightfully served with grace and ease. I don't usually eat bread, but glad I didn't resist fresh baked ancient grain bread, generously offered with butter EVO and rich balsamic. Our two salads, Waldorf and Gorgonzola, featured fresh field greens, farm to table cheeses, candied Walnuts, caramelized pears, luscious beets and a light vinnaigrette. The Manicotti was delicately filled with the best of Italy. The Eggplant maintained a light crispy batter, under a 24 hr authentic marinara, topped wIth fresh grated Parmegianno over Italian grain Fettucine. BUONI!!!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing. The pasta was the highlight, and I would recommend getting the ménage a trois for dessert.

Sausage pasta

This place is a Ventura staple. It's always crowded for dinner. We made a reservation but still waited a few minutes. The wait staff are very nice. We ordered the fettuccine with scallops, pizza sofia with ham and mushrooms, and pasta with sausage. Unfortunately the scallops pasta was overcooked and scallops were tough but the sauce was good. The sausage was excellent. The pizza was also very good. The Cesar salad was great. I like the lively crowd, it was very festive for the holidays. I will return for the comfort food and welcoming service.

What a wonderful staff I encountered walking into Capriccio for the very first time. To add to that, I had a great afternoon eating some really fresh pasta. It did not taste like your typical robust pungent flavors, no this was like garlicky and subtle. It was exactly what I was looking for.

The lobster bisque

I LIKED THIS PLACE. A BIT EXPENSIVE BUT GOOD. On my business trip to Ventura, this place popped up on my Yelp. Here's how it went: Service: 5/5 It is everything you want when it comes to service. The servers are so polite, fast, and aren't the type to tell you to order certain things just because it is most expensive thing on the menu. They'll tell you what dishes are really good and worth getting. Food: 4/5 Their house bread is so good! It was a bit hard on the outside- but super warm and soft on the inside. I ordered a lobster bisque soup, and it was amazing! Dip that bread in there and mmmm. Chefs kiss! Next up, I ordered the seafood pasta. I am not a pasta girl- but this one was really tasty. I felt like it needed salt, but then the sever walked around with freshly grated Parmesan. It was perfect after that! I wish I ordered a bit more sauce in the side, but nevertheless it was still really good! Lastly, I ordered a dessert. I took a slice of key lime Pie to go. Once I got back to my hotel room, I guess it was a bit meh. It was too tart and not as firm as I would've liked it. I wouldn't order that again. Price:4/5 For 1 soup, 1 pasta plate, and 1 dessert, My meal was $50.00. I think the price is pretty fair for what you get! Sure, some can see it as a bit much, but the only thing that didn't seem worth it to me was the 10.00 dessert. If you went to Olive Garden, one of their plates is about $30.00 (the carbonara) and this is much better quality than that! All around: 4/5 I really did like this place, and I plan to come back. The ambiance was so cute, the place was very clean, and the food was pretty good. I definitely want to try new things the next time I am in the area.

My husband and I were in town with a friend and wanted something local to eat and stumbled upon this place! It didn't seem bad! We had a dog and they allowed us to sit in the back as we told them dog is good and quiet so they allowed it! We ordered two pasta dishes! We had the . As I was eating, I found hair which really upset me! I didn't continue because I get grossed out! I mean it's a restaurant! When I brought it up to the server, her response was rude! " a lot of people tell us that they find hair and it's from the napkin" really? What do you wash your napkins with? Why is there hair! It's a restaurant and the response I got isn't appropriate! She didn't try to fix it or apologize. After that I asked for the check and left. This isn't the type of local restaurant I would like to take my business to! Never again!

The food here is amazing. Really good quality and authentic flavors. The service is always excellent. Super cute place to have a nice Italian dinner with a twist.

Chicken Picatta

Yikes! I love a good Italian restaurant, unfortunately Capriccio is not the place for me. We ended up sending our meals back and leaving. The service was extremely slow, but we were out on the patio and the only people out there, so I think they just forgot. We elected to sit on the patio due to having our dogs. We got chicken piccata and some seafood pasta (scallops). The chicken piccata was Olive Garden status. It was edible and I would have kept it, my the seafood pasta was inedible. The "buttery sauce" was clammy water juice.

Fave easy dinner spot in Main Street. Good place to grab a small pizza and some wine. Decent seating space inside and quick food turnout!

Was the amount of shrimp worth it? Nope, so I would suggest to substitute the sausage with shrimp instead since apparently that does not cost extra. The sauce was super creamy and I enjoyed it. The pasta was fresh and well do The bread was normal bread you can buy at the market so that was a bit disappointing. I am excited to try the Spezzatimo next time though. Edit: came back for the Spezzatimo and it was delicious! Especially during the rainy weather. I accidentally spilled my olive oil for my bread but the waitress was kind and understand and moved me to another table. You can also ask for extra bread. The Spezzatimo was like a perfectly balanced meaty and tomato-y stew with delicious chunks of potato! I think if they actually added pasta to it, i would be the absolute perfect meal! The service was really nice when it isn't packed but when it is packed, it's a bit rough. Can't blame them too much for this though in this rough economy.

Attentive, professional, and somehow always there right when we needed her without hovering. Started with a Cadillac margarita and yes... it was balanced, refreshing, and dangerous in the "I could have two more" way. Love that they add the Grand Marnier on the side, as they should. Food rundown because everything deserved its moment: * Diavola pizza: the crust?? perfect. Light, crisp, slightly chewy, all the things. Ingredients tasted fresh fresh. The calabrese + crushed red pepper combo had a nice kick without doing too much. * Romana salad: not your basic salad. The speck, artichokes, goat cheese, pine nuts... it's giving main character energy. * Beef carpaccio: super tender, bright from the lemon, and balanced with the arugula + parm. Clean and simple in the best way. * Arancini: crispy outside, cheesy center, sitting in that tomato sauce like they know they're the favorite. Overall vibe: cozy but elevated, great service, and food that actually lives up to the menu descriptions (rare). Only complaint? I'm already planning my next visit.

Not only did it take a long time for anyone to even take our order, but they also forgot our waters. It took about 20 minutes before we received anything. We ordered drinks and two appetizers. One appetizer arrived after about 20 minutes, but our drinks didn't arrive until approximately 25 minutes after we ordered. While we waited, we observed several waiters standing around talking instead of helping customers. We also watched two other tables ask multiple times for their checks before finally receiving them. The staff didn't appear busy or overwhelmed, which made the delays even more frustrating. To make matters worse, several tables that were seated after us received their food before we did. After waiting a total of 40 minutes without receiving our second appetizer or even being offered drink refills, we had enough. We asked the busser for our check and requested to cancel the remaining appetizer because we were extremely frustrated at that point. Instead of a manager or supervisor coming to speak with us, the busser returned to tell us that we couldn't cancel the appetizer because it had already been prepared. We paid, took the meatballs to go, and left disappointed. Only then did our server come over and say, "Sorry, we got stacked up." No manager or person in charge ever came to apologize or address the situation. The person who appeared to be the manager simply dropped off our boxed food and walked away without saying a word. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I've dined here multiple times before and have always enjoyed both the food and the service, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, I will no longer support this business and will make sure to warn my family, friends, and colleagues to save their money and support businesses that value their customers and hire competent, attentive staff.
