    Drunken Beef Banh Mi
    Spencer S.

Been driving by Little Viet Kitchen for a couple years now and thought it was high time we stopped in to try something off the menu. Considering it was between meals when we stopped in, my wife and I decided to share a banh mi just to whet our palates. I was persuaded to try the drunken beef banh mi and it was ready about 5 minutes after I placed my order. The kitchen staff were friendly and efficient and they seemed to be reasonably busy fulfilling walk-in and online orders. The space is clean but seating is limited so we took our banh mi to-go. I was very happy with the banh mi and felt that the flavors were strong without being overpowering and the spiciness of the beef was cut by the pickled vegetables and cilantro. I would definitely consider coming back again and trying some more of the menu.

4.5 stars overall. Little Viet Kitchen is a Vietnamese restaurant that opened in fall 2023 and serves bánh mì (baguette sandwiches), rice bowls, vermicelli bowls, summer rolls, pho, bubble teas, coffee, etcetera. My husband and I have been customers here a couple of times. Chicken Banh Mi - 5 stars - The baguette was a full size and was fresh and crispy. It was filled with pickled carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, mayo, and my husband's choice of protein of chicken that had been marinated in lemongrass and garlic. Veggie rice bowl - 4.5 stars - The jasmine rice was steamed perfectly, and it was topped with fresh tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, and cabbage. On the side was a small cup of a flavorful sweet sauce. Veggies vermicelli bowl - 4 stars - Rice noodles were topped with fresh tomatoes, pickle carrot, cucumbers, lettuce, and dressing. Shrimp summer rolls - 4 stars - Each order consisted of two rolls. We ordered these twice. The first time, I thought that the flavor of the shrimp was overshadowed by herbs. The next time, my husband ate the rolls and liked them. Beef pho - 4.5 stars - My husband ordered this pho twice. It contained a very flavorful broth, rice noodles, bean sprouts, onions, basil, and cilantro. Mango tea - 5 stars - Twice I chose a mango flavor with a mango-jelly topping. One contained milk, and one was just tea. I really enjoyed the flavors.

Menu isn't very large but what they do they do well. Several different protein options and you can get them in sandwich, rice bowl or noodle bowl form, or as pho soup . My personal go to is the classy chick bahn mi. Fresh and flavorful on the perfect demi baguette. Yum. The interior isn't large but has three or four tables and a small seating area for waiting on pickups. Have gone a few times now and definitely worth checking out.

Great spot tucked away in a shopping plaza! Before going, I had no idea they also owned Bahn Mi & Ti, so that was an exciting surprise. We dined in, but it's pretty small in there so takeout is probably the move unless it's slower. We got a bahn mi and also a vermicelli bowl. Both came out super quick and were delicious! I saw lots of people come in to grab some boba, which I'll probably do next time. Highly recommend for awesome Vietnamese in the North Hills!

Quick, easy, delicious. They don't have a large inside seating area but the food is amazing and always quick service.

Great find. The menu is almost entirely focused on banh mi, rice bowls, rice vermicelli bowls, and pho but the ingredients are fresh and the execution is excellent. The banh mi was flavorful and well presented, with a particularly crusty baguette. It could have used a few more pickled vegetables, but was otherwise great. The "summer rolls" (fresh rolls) were a somewhat distinct format, with open ends on either side. Either way, both the spring rolls and corresponding dipping sauce were delicious. We specifically requested a vermicelli bowl with egg and extra veggies, and it was perfectly balanced: lots of fresh vegetables with just enough vermicelli in the bottom. Also: try the cucumber salad. It's a nice refreshing addition to other potentially heavy items. The actual restaurant is a tiny space in a larger strip mall, but it was very nicely decorated and clean with very friendly service. It seemed like exactly the type of operation I like to support. They really seem to care about solid execution and service.

I stopped by here a couple of Fridays ago with my wife and twins for dinner. We had found out about Little Viet Kitchen via Yelp and I was happy to see that we had a Vietnamese restaurant in the North Hills. This restaurant is located in the plaza with Target and Giant Eagle right where 19 and McKnight Road meet. It's takeout only and my wife and I placed an order online for a specific time. When we arrived a little after that time my wife ran in and got it and so I can't comment on how it looks. For dinner on this day I decided to get a classy chick vermicelli bowl while my wife went with the drunken beef vermicelli bowl and we ordered our twins the chicken Pho. My bowl here was pretty good and I enjoyed the flavor of the chicken. The carrots and other vegetables helped provide a fresh flavor to it and the sauce I poured over the top helped to add a bit of saltiness which I appreciated. My wife's bowl was similarly good and I thought that her drunken beef was super flavorful. Last but certainly not least was the pho which my daughter loved. She ate a ridiculous amount of the broth, which tasted nicely of chicken and lemongrass, for a 2 year old. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Both my wife and I really enjoyed our bowls here and I only wish that the portion sizes were a little bigger.

Have been back many times. We have had: Beef pho 5/5 good broth and protein. Banh mi xa Xieu which has a good protein to vegetable to bread ratio. 5/5. Could use more aioli on the bread. But staff are very generous with the meat. My sandwich was nicely stuffed. Crisp carrot pieces tender juicy pork and a good crispy baguette. Shrimp roll 4.8/5 lots of vegetables Cafe phin - husband likes it. I love this place but that's an outrageous price for a tiny cup of coffee. Bobo tea 5/5 kid loves it. Always friendly and welcoming staff. Clean restaurants with a few cosy little tables. 5/5 Highly recommend

Super cute, yummy food and great friendly service ! It's hard to find a good Bahn Mi in the suburbs so when I heard of this place I had to stop and try it!

Yum! I love Vietnamese food so I was excited to hear there was a new place to check out, I tried the banh mi and cucumber salad. I love that there are a variety of options for the banh mi meat. I tried the pork n roll which is marinated pork and five spices. It has a lot of flavor. The sandwich was packed with ingredients and the bread had the perfect crunch. The cucumbers were delicious. Still a little crisp with s pretty heavy sesame flavor. The one down side is that there is no dine in. Overall, a tasty, clean and affordable place I'll definitely be visiting again.

    Homemade Kimchi delicious.

Went in excited to try the new place in Wexford right next to the Giant Eagle. In a simple word. GO! We anticipate that we will be ordering regularly. Heads up take out only. Go in and say hi to Ben!

I stopped by for lunch today and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant is takeout only and they're giving 10% off on all orders right now. I ordered the chicken pho and it did not disappoint. They keep the broth separate so everything stays fresh until you get home. The chicken was so tender and flavorful, the bean sprouts were crunchy, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the flavor of the broth was great. The portion size was generous too. If it wasn't so delicious, I probably would have saved half for another time, bit I didn't want to stop. Everyone in the shop was super friendly and my order was done very quickly. I will definitely be back again! I'm happy to have a new fresh local spot to go to.

My husband and I have been a takeout customer of Eiwa many times over years. For our visits, the cook quickly cooked our foods, and the hostess and waiter very promptly and courteously served us. Here are my reviews for our foods: Crab cheese wonton - 4.5 stars - The wonton wrappers were crispy, and they were filled with cream cheese and some crab meat and seasonings. These wontons tasted similar to other restaurants' wontons. Miso soup - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this miso soup, and he described it as "good." Vegetable spring rolls - 4.5 stars - These spring rolls were a little oily but tasted very good. Chicken egg rolls - 4 stars - My husband ate these egg rolls, and he seemed to enjoy them. Pork gyoza - 4.5 stars - This appetizer consisted of six pieces of potstickers that were filled with a good amount of ground pork and some vegetables. On the side was a spicy sauce. Bao buns - 4.5 stars - I ordered the spiced beef, and I liked it. Other available flavors include chicken and pork. Shrimp tempura platter with kabocha squash and sweet potato - 4.5 stars - The shrimps, squash, and sweet potatoes were very fresh, and their tempura batter was crispy. Okonomiyaki - 4.5 stars - Several flavorful pancakes contained seafood and zucchini, and they were topped with sauce, mayonnaise, and bonito flakes. Chicken Katsudon - 5 stars - The chicken meat was large and juicy, and its panko breading was crispy. Tonkotsu ramen - 5 stars - My husband has repeatedly ordered this flavor of ramen. This ramen contained pork belly, noodles, spinach, mushroom, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and egg. My husband chose to purchase extra noodles. He said that this ramen tasted "really good", "delicious," and like a "higher quality." Spicy miso ramen - 4.5 stars - I had asked for some spice, but this ramen tasted a little milder than I had expected. I assume that the cook can make it spicier for other people. Ingredients were pork, bean sprouts, seaweed, corn, scallion, and egg, and I liked the flavors. Vegetarian ramen - 5 stars - This ramen was very flavorful, despite not containing meats and being made at my preferred "not spicy" level. Creamy curry vegetable soup - 4.5 stars - This curry soup was moderately spicy and contained a small amount of vegetables. Shoyu ramen - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this ramen two times. He liked the flavors. He described the first bowl as "oily" but said that the second bowl was better. Niku udon - 5 stars - The udon noodles were nicely chewy. The broth, beef, and onion were flavorful. Tan-tan ramen - 5 stars - This ramen soup was moderately spicy, and it was filled with perfectly cooked noodles, ground chicken, and vegetables. Thai curry ramen - 5 stars - This ramen had a nice balance of moderate spice and sweetness. It also had good noodles and vegetables. Sesame chicken - 4.5 stars - Eiwa expanded their menu to include some other types of Asian cuisines. This sesame chicken had large chunks of chicken with juicy meat, crispy breading, and a flavorful sauce. On the side was white rice that was perfectly steamed. General Tso's chicken - 4.5 stars (average of my 4 stars and my husband's 5 stars) - This General Tso's did NOT taste spicy at all. My husband who strongly dislikes spices described this chicken as "delicious." Pad see-ew - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this entree. The noodles, broccoli, soy sauce, and choice of protein of chicken tasted very good. Pad Thai - 4.5 stars - The noodles were cooked well, and I liked the flavors of the sauce, vegetables, and tofu. (It may be ordered with animal proteins.) Spicy Salmon Roll - 4.5 stars - This roll was smaller than I had expected, but I really liked its flavors. Salmon-avocado sushi roll - 5 stars - I feel so thankful that Eiwa added sushi to their menu! This sushi roll contained very fresh ingredients and tasted very good. PGH roll - 4.5 stars - This maki roll contained shrimp, and I liked the flavors. Tuna-avocado roll - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this maki roll, and he seemed to enjoy it. Spicy tuna roll - 4.5 stars - This tuna sushi was fresh and moderately spicy. Rainbow roll - 4.5 stars - A California roll was topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and cooked shrimp. It tasted slightly spicy. Taiyaki - 4.5 stars - This taiyaki contained red-bean paste, and it was more fried and oily than what I ate in Japan, but I still liked it. Mango boba milk - 5 stars - This bubble tea was a large size and tasted delicious. My husband has ordered it multiple times and really likes it. Strawberry boba milk - 5 stars - I enjoyed the strawberry flavor of this beverage, and I thought that the amount of boba was perfect.

This restaurant is located right on McKnight Road somewhat near the intersection with Siebert. The inside is fairly large with seating in an L-shaped configuration around the kitchen. We were seated near the back on one side where the lighting was styled like lanterns and there was also a fun mural on the wall in an almost manga style. For dinner on this evening I decided to go with the Golden Katsu Curry Ramen while my wife went with the tonkotsu ramen and my kids split a happy cat noodles. My ramen was described as served with house-made curry broth simmered with tender potato and carrot chunks, wavy noodles and topped with a crispy cutlet, half marinated egg, sweet corn and scallions. My wife's was described as pork broth with thin noodles, pork belly chashu, nori, bamboo shoots, fish cake, kikurage mushroom, half marinated egg, sweet corn and scallions. My kids' meal was described as chicken nuggets, soy sauce-based plain noodles, assorted vegetables, half marinated egg and one piece of mochi ice cream. They first brought out the wrong item for my kids but once we mentioned it they quickly corrected it and brought out the right dish. My curry ended up being really good. The chicken cutlet was crispy, the noodles were bouncy and I enjoyed the sweetness from the corn. The star of the show for me though was the Japanese curry which had a rich flavor with warm and inviting spices. My wife loved her ramen as well and we were all impressed with the quality of the kids' meal, especially the chicken and the flavor of the noodles. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Everyone in my family enjoyed their food and we appreciated that it felt both fun and family friendly.

One of the visits the restaurant was fairly busy, another there weren't many people there. But each time, the servers were attentive, informative and friendly. There are three different menus. An American Chinese menu (with things like chicken with broccoli, egg rolls, etc. A traditional Chinese menu (with exotic to us things like chicken feet, intestines and more) and a sushi menu. There are a lot of pictures on the Chinese menu to help you get a better sense of what some of those items are. The one disappointment I had was with the crispy pickled cucumber. When they were served to us, they were basically just cucumbers. There was only a tiny bit of sauce on them. I think they hadn't had enough time in the sauce or something. Our server did bring us more sauce which helped. On one visit, my daughter had the chicken with broccoli and said it was the best chicken with broccoli she had ever had. The portion size was great, the broccoli crisp and the chicken really tender. Overall, despite being a "boring" dish, it was quite tasty. One of my favorites is the mapo tofu with pork. Packed with spice and flavor. When it is brought to the table, it is served on a pot with a flame to keep it warm. I do wish they gave you more rice. The portion is tiny and ordering extra is an additional $2. But other than that, I highly recommend a visit here! Something for the most timid eaters, but also a wide variety of options for those that want to be more adventurous.
