We went on Saturday and ordered pancakes and a panini. Both were clearly prepared hours before and re-microwaved, so they were kindof mushy and wet. They don't refrigerate or replace the butter packets on the tables so they're 50/50 rotten or partially opened. When you check out they add an extra dollar or two hoping you won't notice (although this seems to be common practice at cafes these days). Finally, I got terrible food poisoning from the panini. I've been here maybe 5 times because I live very close by and the aesthetic is nice but the food poisoning was the last straw. We're never coming back here again for anything. read more

My family and I have been going to Village Coffee for years and have never been disappointed... The atmosphere is that of a cool coffee house but full food service as well. Love all the different omelette options as well as the other traditional breakfast food. different flavored coffees are a plus in the morning, along with the baked goods and smoothies. 3.5 stars The classic panini was pretty good; I'd order it again. It was flavorful. The Mac & cheese was from a craft box, but I believe they added egg to it, which made it taste one level up. They won't be famous for it but I would order it again. The French toast needed to cook a bit more, then it would have been alright. I wish it came with whipped cream or butter. It did look nice though. I did not like the cappuccino much, but I also brew my own coffee at home so I'm at another level. I only drank half if it. My husband and I have had breakfast at Village Coffee a handful of times now. I found it while looking for a place that has both gluten free options and vegan options. Out first time here we had great service, and were impressed with their house made hot sauce ( actually hubby was, way too hot for me ), and a couple other things. However; I was not at all impressed with their gluten free waffles because they taste like they come from a box and when they're not served crispy or hot. Also, the gf and vegan options are very limited. On the flip side; they make great omelettes. I mean really great omelettes. So good, I forget that I try to be vegan and their home fries are out of this world! Salty, but rich with flavor and well prepared. The service overall has been inconsistent, but the home fries alone make it worth dining here repeatedly. read more

You can definitely taste the ginger, lemongrass and honey in the beginning of your sip and then there's an turmeric aftertaste. Skip this drink if you don't like ginger or turmeric. The banana bread was moist. Not sweet even with the addition of the chocolate chips. The banana flavor was subtle. This is a good mid-day snack. First impression was a great one. I'm new to the area and I pass by this busy Main Street on my commute from work so decided to take a stroll through the neighborhood and instead of my usual urge to get Starbucks (a block away) I decided to try something new and support this business. Small, cute, quaint busy breakfast and lunch cafe. I ordered the Amaretto Macchiato and the Mexican Breakfast burrito and it was amazing. I was really excited about spending many afternoons this summer at this shop. We came for the first time on Memorial Day and they were closing a bit early, but we grabbed a cup and got to chat with the owner who told us he "wanted us to feel like this is home." I took that to heart and was eager to return, settle in, and give it another try. When I rolled up today on my new bike, I realized the lock I bought was broken and I was desperate. I asked the barista if there might be somewhere at the back door or secluded and out of the way that I could put my bike since the lock was broken and I was worried about it. She mentioned she'd go ask her manager, and then reported back that there wasn't anything they could do and maybe I could sit where I could see it. They could care less about me feeling at home or retaining me as a customer. It felt bad to realize the shop I was planning on spending most of my days at is unwelcoming and unwilling to help a potential customer be served and welcome them in after a pilgrimage into town. A simple gesture could have turned my day around and set me on a path of being their fan instead of leaving a bad taste in my mouth with no intention of trying to return. read more
