    River Reuben with side Caesar
    Kimmy S.

This place was sooO good. And they have a great selection on the menu. Everything we ordered was super tasty - steak sandwich, Reuben, fries, Caesar. They also have a cute market shop inside the restaurant with gifts, cards, random things and a coffee shop/cafe inside. I ordered an iced chai and it was great. We stopped by at lunch time on a weekday and it was pretty empty. We sat outside and the patio was clean and a nice vibe.

Holy cow huge portions! I enjoyed my rigatoni and vodka pasta with Italian sausage a lot. My mocktail was also really tasty

We had a tasty meal here. My cocktail included an ice cube made of guava juice, so the drink didn't get watery. The restaurant gives onion dip with chips at each table ... yum. I had Chicken Paillard (grilled with cannellini beans & pistachio pesto) & my husband had Chicken Milanese (fried with a smoky tomato sauce - Southern flavors). Both were delicious.

Hmm, this is a tough review as we expected a better experience. A friendly hostess brought us to a table in a dining room with what seemed like a number of large tables. It was empty except for onbe party, and the vibe seemed off to me, so we asked to sit outside, where most of the diners were. We had a very friendly waitress, and the menu just resonated with me, I wanted to try most of it! We chose several dishes, but the problem was that food just didn't come out of the kitchen. Maybe 45 minutes or so before our first app arrived? That is just too long. Cocktails were good, but also took a real long time to arrive. As far as the food, the best thing we had were the squash blossom tacos. Creative take and delicious. The coconut curry chicken was disappointing all around, the rice was sticky and not the basmati variety which we would have expected and the curry itself was bland and somewhat tasteless. Cheddar puffs seemed like they would be a hit, but were just not to our liking at all and we did not finish them. So initially seeing the menu, we wanted to try it all, but our sample of the food we did try was mediocre at best, with only one plate being something we would try again. Perhaps the restaurant was overwhelmed and understaffed that day, we did not see many diners at all, but the bar was very busy. Considering all the great reviews here, we were hoping for a better experience. We might try again when returning to Salem, but this would not be a high priority given the other places we tried in town.

What a great time our clinic staff had for our Christmas office dinner. We are very appreciative that they were able to accommodate our party last minute as our original plan didn't work out. We were greeted by our host and shown to a private set up for us. Warm music playing, a pretty mural and tasteful decor made for a cozy space to have dinner. The service was wonderful, kind and helpful as we had some dietary restrictions that were navigated safely. The ahi bites appetizers were fantastic, as well as the Harissa Carrots. Our party enjoyed Chicken Milanese, Campfire Mac and cheese, Porcini and truffle ravioli, and a chocolate waffle ala mode was the finishing touch on a lovely dinner. We will be back and we definitely recommend this place for your private dinners as well as just for a warm elevated space with good food.

I have been here twice in the last week. The quality of food was outstanding. I was very impressed by the quality and quantity of food for the price. Lively has one of the top burgers in town. The side salad was incredible. I consume at least 4 burgers per week from a variety of restaurants in Salem/Keizer. When I say they have one of the best burgers you can take my recommendation to the bank. Of course chefs can change so I'll share an image to protect my reputation. The burger in my attached image is the Pub burger.

    Delicious and creative food options!

Delicious! Everyone was friendly, and the food was great. I ordered the Steak Argentine Bocadillo from the brunch with the Strawberry Fields as a side salad. I can't imagine a more perfect post-hike lunch. Portions were generous, and the steak was perfectly tender.

Perfect lunch or dinnner spot after a flight! We stopped in after flying into PDX, wanting to get out of the city for a meal before driving to our final destination. It was such an adorable spot! In addition to the restaurant, they seemed to have a great bar and bottle selection. I would love to come back and try the cocktails sometime. We started with the cheddar puffs which were surprisingly good. They were not like a cheese curd, but sort of like a fried soft cheese. The Caesar chicken wrap was also great, but the steak sandwich with sweet potatoes was simply amazing! Perfectly cooked steak. Service was also very fast, and staff were wonderful. I would come back all the time if I lived here!!

This place is such a gem! They have a sweet little gift shop, a lovely outdoor patio and a delightful service team. The food was so creative and delicious and quite possibly the best beet and barley salad I've ever consumed. The only thing I'll note is that their water has a funky taste.. as does their soda water. Wouldn't recommend those- but the food was so good it didn't really end up mattering to me

I visited with a large party for an early dinner reservation. The only negative thing was that our server came to take drink orders but we didn't have a drink menu. She listed a few beers but didn't mention the cocktails so we had to insist on seeing the menu.... I'm glad because they have a great cocktail menu! So many fun options. Almost everyone at the table got a cocktail. I really enjoyed mine. I had the pot roast, which was very good. My husband also enjoyed his Brie burger and fries. Most of us enjoyed our meals but note the steak frites doesn't come with the really good twisty fries, just regular string fries. I would go back!

Oh my gosh!!! Amazing restaurant!!! Good food, nice ambience, great customer service and such a nice owner!!! She happened to also be the owner of my air bb and can I just say we are SO thankful for the owners. Amazing people and amazing food!!! Don't miss out on this gem.

What a special summer treat. The lavender latte and lavender lemon cake were both delicious. Wonderful service!

Some fabulous desserts after a wonderful selection of appetizers - ahi bites, charcuterie boards, sliders, meatballs, salad, mac & cheese

Jess and her wonderful crew catered a wedding rehearsal mix and mingle for us at the Salt Creek Cider House. Guests were amazed at the assortment of foods and how tasty all the selections were. The thai chicken meatballs were a crowd favorite. The kids said the mac and cheese was the best! Jess was amazing. It was such a great celebration. Guests said it was such a nique evening. Lively Station knocked it out of the park! One of our favorites when we visit Salem.

It wasn't crowded when I arrived, around 3 or 4pm. Service was very friendly and relaxed. It had a comfortable, friendly vibe. It seems this place has a lot of regulars, because a couple groups came in after me and were greeted by name. It was Tuesday, which meant the Happy Hour menu was available all day. The prices were quite reasonable, and we got plenty of food. We ordered the Korean Street Tacos, and Curried chicken lettuce wraps and the cheeseburger with hand cut fries. Everything was delicious. The Korean tacos were a nice mixture of fresh veggies and rich meat flavors as well as some heat. The wraps were generously filled with a great classic chicken salad with curry, and had a great crunch. The burger was juicy and rich, was a good size and had a yummy brioche bun. The fries were cooked well and the ranch was creamy with a dilly kick. This was some solid food at a great price. Apparently Tuesday is trivia night, but we left before that started. This is a great place for some great food. I can see why this place has regulars!

Cozy and not too loud. Their specials menu of select food and drinks was nice, but I was a but disappointed to learn that the only non-alcoholic offering was a canned golden beer (and soft drinks, water - haha, per our server). They did have a decent selection of draft beer. I shared that many restaurants are offering mocktails and that they're missing an opportunity there. The table ordered a sampling of the menu; Korean tacos, Caesar salad, Mac & Cheese, Burger and fries, and Lettuce wraps. Drinks included strawberry lemonade, draft beer, wine, and ice tea. The Korean tacos were good, but not excellent. I think the shell could be improved upon, maybe a fried won ton? Maybe some chili sauce on the side? The Caesar salad was very good, but the mac and cheese was bland and disappointing. Overall it seems like they're working through some kinks. The server could've used some help, as he seemed to have the only one working all of the tables. No ketchup on the table for fries or offer of any. A condiment station might help, but the place is relatively small. I'm glad we stopped in and will certainly give it another shot. It's nice to have an affordable family friendly spot in Salem and I wish them the best of luck!

Walked in expecting a normal dinner, immediately realized we had made a tactical error in the best way possible. The place was packed, loud, and had that kind of energy you can't really fake. Solid 10/10 on vibes if you're in the mood for it (and even if you're not, you adjust quickly). Despite being clearly short staffed, the service was impressively good. Not "everything is perfectly on time" good, but "everyone is working hard, communicating, and actually cares" good. They were very upfront and apologetic about the delays, which honestly went a long way. Food came out a bit slower than usual (again, not surprising given the circumstances), but overall I'd put it at a strong 8/10. Nothing overhyped, just well-executed and worth ordering again. I had the classic lager and it was meh. This is very subjective I realize but I'd rate it a 4 or 5/10. All things considered, it could have easily been a frustrating experience walking in on one of the busiest nights of the year, but it wasn't. Credit to the staff for keeping things running and keeping the tone positive. I'd come back, ideally on a slightly less festive evening, but also kind of glad I saw it at full capacity.

We ordered the hot honey wings, the grilled chicken Cobb, the gilga-burger, the guacamole bacon burger, and the campus burger. None hit the mark. When you walk into a brewery that looks this great, you kind of expect more from the food. The wings didn't have flavor. The burgers had the taste of old grease. It left us all disappointed.
