Overall our experience was good, but I don't think I would use them again. A little background: It was a super hot day, and I felt bad for the movers. They didn't seem to have water or proper PPE for the weather. The positive: Movers were on time and ready to work! Items were moved carefully, but they probably could have used a third worker based on the items we had. I feel I was transparent with how much items we had including heavy items. The negative: Two movers were not enough based on the items we had including heavy items. The move took much longer than expected. Movers seemed really irritated the whole time, which I can't tell if it was from the heat or we did something wrong. Movers also left garbage behind and we had to clean up after. Usually the moving company will follow up after to see how things went, but we never heard from Nancy. Nancy also said she would come to check in during the move, but never did. We paid, and it was done. I think overall, it was a fine experience, but not to the level of other moving companies I've worked with before. Based on the more recent reviews, it looks like some improvements have been made which is great!

Also, I used the storage service facility in Concord monthly for seven years. Unfortunately, I need to warn others about the poor storage conditions and the damage to my belongings as well as lost valuable items. In March of 2025 I moved across country and when I inventoried my items, we had missing items , fine wood furnishings had rat feces and urine in them (!), severe damage to wood furniture and 680 Movers blamed my new mover, including fabricating access to my belongings (prior to actual move out date) to avoid financial responsibility. I would not store your furniture in the warehouse as it is filthy and they move your furniture all over the facility without notification or keeping track of your inventory. It would have been more cost effective to have used a private storage facility where I could have full access and not allow strangers to move my furniture without consent. The damage and loss of items totaled over $10k, for this reason, I suggest not hiring 680 Movers as a long time customer of 7+ years.

However, both of my 70" TVs were broken (screens all messed up) when I tried to turn them on. (I remembered both had been moved in the van while standing on their short end. I looked this up after finding them broken, and I found that standing TVs on the short end is not the way to store them, as it puts pressure on the screen in a way it was not designed to bear. Especially in a bouncing moving van!) And my bookstand with wheels had one broken wheel (probably they forgot to unlock the wheels before trying to move it). Ugh. Later, the main mover guy texted to ask me to give them a good review at a different link than the one I had used to write this Yelp review. I let him know about the TVs (I had not discovered the book case yet). And he made a big deal over how this had never happened to them before and his guys were so upset and how they didn't do anything wrong. And then he said I could file a claim with the company but asked me to say they had not done anything wrong, everything had been packed right. Well, clearly not the case! And not my problem to protect his ego. Double ugh. I made a 1.5 hour round trip drive to drop off the TVs at a free electronic recycle. I'll go to Costco to try and replace these TVs. They were probably only each worth 100 when broken, but I'll have to pay a lot more than that to replace them. A serious drag.

The trio of movers were especially efficient in loading the furniture and boxes at my old place onto the truck. I really liked the portable closet they brought that made transporting nice clothes on hangers a breeze. The move was just a handful of miles -- from Berkeley to Oakland -- so the hope was to finish in the two hour minimum. We didn't quite make it, instead coming in at slightly over 2.5 hours - rounded up to 2.75. That was the only disappointment. I'll give them 4.7 or 4.8 stars.
