The prices are competitive and the sales people are nice. But as soon as my recliner was delivered, we noticed there was only a one sheet of instructions. Even the online instructions had very little info. We got it put together quickly and plugged it in to recline but there's other buttons and it doesn't say what they do. There's another cord that doesn't seem to connect to anything. I phoned them for help. After holding for a long time I was disconnected. I called back. Finally, they connected me to someone who I was told could help me. As soon as he said hello I was disconnected. I called back again. Someone said they would send someone out - she said a "team of experts would come out" but it would cost $99. I said I just need someone to tell me what to do. She directed me to a website that had no information about the extra cord. She said she didn't know but for $99 they would have someone help me. I said could someone just talk to me or even a video call? I spent approximately $900 and I have the 5 year Care Warranty. But she said it didn't matter. It would be $99. Finally, after I asked for a supervisor she waived the $99 but this is just the worst experience I've had in a long time with customer service. read more

It's so unfortunate that the in store experience was so great & once they sold it to me they didn't care after. I got a coffee table that I tried to make work in my apt and it's way too big so I called to see if I can exchange it and their management team got super hostile with me. The gentleman (Renee)raised his voice at me when I challenged their return policy and asked for an exception to their 7 day rule. I'm not asking you for mt Everest I'm asking you to exchange something but he was adamant to sticking to 7 days and it's probably because they get it from the same manufacturer can't return it themselves. Regardless I didn't appreciate being screamed at like that regardless, I'm a customer and being hostile to a female when you're clearly a grown man and ur supposed to be a manager is really disturbing and unacceptable and intimidating , they make you a manager because you keep your cool and not because you go off. Maggie that works in the mattress Department at the living Spaces in Monrovia is very knowledgeable... very professional and knows what she's talking about when it comes to mattresses. She took time with me and showed me over 10 different mattresses and was very patient with me because I'm very picky. She also knows about fine furniture as well. She offered me water as i took my time picking out my mattress, she also told me about various mattress covers in different price ranges to fit my budget. I came there for a FEMA bed and she showed me other options. I've been to that store three times now and she always has a smile on her face and offers me something to drink and help right away no matter what department im in.... That is a boat full Of crap because you can't call them a delivery service. So my couches were set to be delivered today 03/09/2022. The guy gets there leans against my gate and says it's not gonna fit. They made no attempt to try. Mind you I paid for full service delivery what kind of crap is that. Didn't even attempt to try. I have been purchasing a lot of my furniture from living spaces. I STILL have my 1st couch when I moved out from my parents to my own apartment over 10 years ago. It is still firm and comfy, and I have it in my work studio for whenever I need a moment to relax or take a break. Within the last 10 years, I've purchased 2 dressers, and a new couch (earlier this year). I always opt for them to be the ones to deliver and unload the items. Over the past 15 years, my bride and I have purchased various pieces of furniture at Living Spaces: - Sofa and love seat - coffee table - end tables - TV stand/media center - Office furniture - bunk beds All of those things were several years ago, to be honest. And with the exception of our sofa-- which arrived to the house with internal damage to the wood frame and was not "discovered" by us until the return window was closed-- the stuff was pretty high quality. On the pricier end (closer to Ethan Allan than Ikea, for sure), but solid items. Looking for an end table for our new home, Mrs. Picante and I visited this store just a few days ago, and I was, in a word, "shocked" at what we found: 1. The selection has evolved into a weird noveau-niche of overdetermined half-assery: eclectic, pretentious, and campy. We walked through the "end table" section near the entrance of the store, and there were all sorts of weird, mismatched things with bizarre tile patterns, animal prints, and what appeared to be seconds and set pieces from early 1990s music videos. The piece de resistance... well pieceS... were two artistic nightmare tables fashioned from the front end of an old car, and another from an old bicycle, respectively. Seriously, who's buying these? Not me, anyway. Items were priced to maintain the hilarity of excess. 2. We took a tour of the rest of the store, just in case there was a secret treasure hidden somewhere else. I remembered there were several different styles here: mid-century modern, contemporary, minimalist, Scandinavian... not any more... just that same overpriced mix of stuff that looks better in the showroom than it will in my living room. 3. Prices are higher than ever. I know... progress; cost of living; higher rents; [insert name of President you don't like here] Administration's policies... but it seems when they changed their logo from that weird blue and yellow thing to the current subdued earthtones, they also did a fair bit of rebranding. Not the same store... maybe it's still your thing, maybe you want to spend north of $2 grand for a set of bunkbeds. But either the styles have changed away from my impeccable taste, or I'm no longer aligned with the veritable Shangri La that is the world of interior design. The customer is not always right. Avoid shopping here. I cancelled an order less then 24 hours later. They kept telling me it was in process of a refund for a week. All to put it out for delivery with a wrong address. Then to say I can't return it at all even if I don't open item. Yet the can sell a bed that has been sat on a 1000 times in store. Be weary of being able to return an item, even Un opened sealed in package. As a customer if I don't have an option to change my mind before it ever arrives to my house, I'm not coming back again. I am very very picky about purchasing a new bed and reclining chair as it had to be furniture I would be happy with for a long time! I wasn't looking at price, just comfort and functionality. The Sales people there were very much patient and gave me so much useful information and choices! I purchased a remote bed and wonderful reclining chair that I can fall asleep on as it is so comfortable. I will visit Living Spaces many times over when it comes to home furnishings. If I could give a half star I would. I ordered a bed frame and mattress off the Living Spaces website after visiting the Monrovia location to lay on the mattresses and see the bed frame in-person. I opted for their full service delivery since it was free and they'd handle the disposal of my old mattress in addition to assembling the bed frame. My order was delivered on a Saturday and the delivery people refused to take my old mattress claiming that it needed to be bagged. Nowhere did it specify on the Living Spaces site that old mattresses need to be bagged in for disposal. They ended up using the bag my new mattress came in. The delivery guys unloaded all the preassembled pieces of the frame only to inform me they couldn't assemble it because a couple of the legs were missing. Living Spaces scheduled a "rescue" delivery for the following day, which was a Sunday. I was informed twice by the same customer service representative that the missing parts would be delivered on Sunday and the bed would be assembled, no problem. Well, nobody came on Sunday with the parts. Turns out, there was a hold on the delivery because I had to pay an additional $139 delivery fee for something that wasn't my fault. I was informed of all this by one of their customer service managers who did little to rectify the problem other than waiving the additional delivery fee and offering me a $130 credit for the inconvenience of not having a bed to sleep on for 2 nights. A total of 3 "rescue" deliveries were scheduled for them to be able to properly assemble the bed frame because of various missing pieces and hardware that were noticed at during the initial delivery and subsequent "rescue" deliveries. The level of incompetence and lack of communication/ common sense from Living Spaces is astonishing. These were the last pieces of furniture I'll ever be purchasing from them, they've lost my business. Living Spaces has lost a customer. read more

Ordered couches from this store on 11/10/2024. Was told that they would be delivered anywhere from December 2-16. Here it is December 4th, with no status update. I ordered these couches early enough so that i could receive them prior to the Christmas holiday. Just called customer service, they will be delivered sometime from December 25 to January 1. Really? I asked a person for help and he just ignored me. I don't like to place negative reviews but I have to, hoping for management to wake up and do something about it. Staff at Living Spaces was friendly and helpful. They get 5 stars. The quality of the furniture for the price also gets 5 stars. The delivery guy was terrible though. Zero stars for the guy in charge (the other guy was fine, despite trampling my herb garden- but I'll forgive that). First off, I'm on the 2nd floor and the stairs are L-shaped. I understand very well that this is not ideal as I've had to bring large pieces of furniture up myself. However I showed the manager at the store pictures and he told me what the maximum size couch I could order. We settled on something smaller than what we wanted because of the issue of getting it up the stairs and through the door. When the driver got here he just started saying it can't be done. It can be, he just didn't want to. It seemed more like he didn't want to do it than the couch wouldn't fit. The delivery guys probably shouldn't be doing this for a living, they're both like 4' 10" and not physically in shape. The other delivery driver didn't complain, but the guy in charge was a total a-hole about it. He called the manager and said they wanted me to sign a waver so they weren't responsible for damage to the property or couch. I was assured if the couch was damaged I could make a claim with Living Spaces, so I signed. Once I did, the delivery guy made no attempt to be careful. I asked if I could help and he got mad at me and then finally agreed when they got in a tough spot. I do manual labor for a living, I know it's not easy and I'm not trying to make it harder on anyone. Once they got the couch inside (it did fit like I said), they left it on it's front end. He wouldn't even set it down right side up. When I asked him to help me turn it, he said no and demanded I sign for the delivery. I was told at the store that I was entitled to an inspection before signing, but he yelled at me and demanded I sign before taking off the plastic. Then he said "you don't sign, I take the couch back." A laughable, empty threat considering how much he hated bringing it up. So I continued to unwrap the couch to make sure there weren't any issues, he screamed at me and even tried to block me from touching my own couch in my own home. He then stormed off and left without me signing for delivery. I get that this is hard work, I move really heavy awkward equipment around for a living in difficult locations, but dude, go to the gym or get a different job. Don't yell at the customers because you don't want to do a hard delivery. The couch is fine. Living Spaces just needs to change delivery services. read more

Nothing us customers could do about the poor communication and customer service between the salesmen at Living Spaces stores and warehouse/delivery people. My old box springs were not hauled away because it did not have a plastic cover per the warehouse rules as stated by the delivery and haul away people on the day of delivery. When making a big in-store purchase, the salesman only gave me a plastic cover for my old mattress for haul away and did not inform me that everything has to be covered in order to be hauled away. When I asked for plastic covers for the old box springs that needed to be hauled away too, the salesman asked why would you need one for the box springs? I guess there's no communication between the salesman and warehouse/delivery people. The mattress protector box was clearly damaged when it was handed to me and the delivery people said it was only a little damaged and once I open it, it is no longer new. Living Spaces salesmen are just that: they need to make a sale and that's it. They don't deal with the delivery and handling of products. Question and issue: the warehouse and the warehouse workers must be outsourced to another company because communication and care and handling of products is lacking. The one star is because when I was leaving I saw two idiot girls leave their two dogs in the car and went to let the managers know because you should never leave a baby or a dog In the car cause it gets dangerously hot. They left one little crack open for the two dogs. The managers did nothing and lied saying they were going to make an announcement to let the owners know. They did nothing and pretty much laughed at the situation. They're very quick to take someone's money for a sale but if their customers have a concern they don't care. We purchased a recliner which had to be made because they wouldn't let us have the floor model. We got an extended warranty ant the time of purchase. When it was delivered to the home, the chair wasn't the same As the floor model. The arm rests were overstuffed which made the seat extremely narrow. We spoke with Several managers. The last man manager was Edith who said that the warranty department denied the claim because they said it was made properly. They said they would send somebody out, never called or followed up. We just wanted the chair fixed. We didn't want to return it. We just wanted it constructed properly. supposedly the warranty company denied it. They don't stand behind their products. It was the first time I bought furniture here. When I purchased mine here, I was told by the sales that their VIP warranty package would take care of any accidental pet/drinks stains or rips. He flat out told me, even if nothing happened to your sofa and you just wanted a new one, you can spill some wine and warranty will cover it!" That's why I spent the extra hundreds of dollars purchasing the plan. But when I finally tried to use it because my friends accidentally ripped the cushions and spilled something on the sofa, both reasons were denied. Good thing I didn't listen to his suggestion ruining my sofa on purpose. For the staining cushions, they replied "Based on the information that was reported and photos the damages were caused by improper cleaning methods/products which are not covered under the warranty. Damages caused by any unauthorized product are not a covered issue under the warranty." The stains looked exactly the same before and after I cleaned them. I couldn't get them out and definitely did not make it worse. Plus I'm sure most people would try to clean stains/spilled a bit right when it happened. For my ripped cushion, I received this reply: "Based on the information that was reported, your fabric is fraying or defective. Fraying, fabric failure or any defects (Pilling, pulls, snags, or fraying of fabric) resulting from a flaw in manufacturing is not a covered." First of all, it was ripped accidentally. It should be covered. Secondly, why would a store sell a furniture that has "flaw in manufacturing?" Lesson learned. Don't buy furniture here at all. I'd rather spend more on a quality product that'll last longer. So, lesson learned. Don't shop at Living Spaces! They sell furniture that they knew had flaws. Don't spend extra for warranty. Because they either will tell you, it's a manufacturing problem or because you clean it, they don't cover it. read more

Beyond disappointed in how ridgid Living Spaces has managed an error by their floor staff. We purchased a whole living room set, with an area rug and dining room table/chairs. So spent a lot of money. We purchased the "care plus" to protect our investment. The sales rep chose not to add our rug to the car plus and said to add it later once the rug arrived "if we liked it". Well, the rug came, we liked it, and when we called to add our rug to the "care plus", like we were instructed - low and behold - member services rep, and the next manager up and then the supervisor all stated "sorry, we can't add the rug to your already purchased rug". They proceeded to parrot the same verbiage of you have 3 days from the point of sale, not delivery, to add a rug. I was astounded as to why we could not add a rug that we purchased to a policy we purchased when their sales rep didn't add it, it was his error! They went on to say it's their policy and then blamed its "care plus" policy because they are a third party and it's their policy. The bottom line is there is no solution, no accountability, and an inability to offer a solution for their mistake. I suggested they purchase my rug back or exchange it, but they said nope, "sorry, past the 7 days," they can't do anything, "it's their policy". So now I have a rug that is not covered on a "care plus" plan I purchased due to their error. Something is very wrong here. read more

So we came in looking for couches me and my fiancé and I honestly felt it was game over after looking around and Erika was telling us most stuff was going to take a few weeks and we needed it like ASAP but walking around more we looked around and Michelle was helping us earlier she came back around and asked us if we were okay we told her the situation so she pointed us to the recliners , we weren't interested in but she found us 2 sets that actually were what we were looking for overall today I was satisfied with the customer service from both Erika and Michelle , were getting our couches delivered and assembled within the same week and full insurance coverage ! Purchased a couch based on the floor model and the color we wanted. Our couch arrived and was shorter than the display model. We opened a warranty claim only to get a call back from the manager at this store saying the couch came in two different sizes and you guys signed for the shorter one. We explained to him we were never told it came in different sizes and his response was "oh well you sign for it" This was an honest mistake by the employee. She filled out the sheet for us to sign and now it feels like a deceptive sale (floor model was the size we wanted) and improper training that led to this issue. A manager also came over to review her work and never confirmed the size we wanted. Obviously, if we knew the couch came in varied sizes, we would've made sure to confirm the right one. All we wanted was to come to a solution. We were ok with upgrading to a new couch or paying to have the correct piece re-done as a neutral solution. I want to warn anyone that is buying a custom item, if there is any issue, you will be told "oh well you signed for it" and there is no customer service provided. I never write reviews, but I had to go out of my way for this one. DO NOT SHOP HERE, I'm saving you time and stress from a miserable company. I spent a hefty sum on a bed, and scheduled for a delivery and pickup of my old mattress and bed box. I was given a window between 10:15AM and 1:15PM for delivery and I was also verbally told that I would have a heads up phone call when the delivery associates were 15 minutes away. None of this went according to plan. Instead it was delivered at 9:00AM, by delivery associates who were rude, not wearing masks, and did not take my old mattress or bed box even though the service was literally in my receipt. So I go back to Living Spaces to request a fix for this problem that had been dumped on me. They told me the best they can do was schedule a pick up for another day in the week, not even later that day. So now I'm stuck with two mattresses and two bed boxes in a small room. I was then directed to corporate because I wanted some kind of compensation for my time and dissatisfaction with the service, which is a fair request in my opinion. However, it only gets worse from there. Virginia, who answered my call, had to be one of the most rude and condescending people I've ever talked to. She said if it wasn't written down then any verbal communication does not count, which I guess let's the sales reps lie to achieve a sale. Furthermore she continued to talk over me and when I wanted to "escalate the situation" as they call it and talk to a manager, I was promptly hung up on. The only remotely enjoyable experience about any of this was the young gentleman at the cashiers desk who gave me the number for corporate and helped me reschedule the pick up. I didn't get his name but you deserve a much better job man. I hope Virginia never has a job in customer service again. read more

We came in because my friends were showing us the couch they had bought a day before (due to long delivery times, we won't be able to see it until probably February) and wanted to show me the dining tables because I was interested in buying a good quality one since I had just moved to Monrovia. We were comparing the other couches to the couch they decided on. Then 2 female sales associates proceeded to ask us if we needed help. We said no thank you, we are just looking. 1 of them left but the one with red hair said "okaaay? are you just here to sit on all the couches or what?" Like what?! She even said "we don't work off commission so any of us can help" so what's the point of being so aggressive if you're not even getting commission? Isn't the point of going to these furniture stores to try out the furniture?? It was so awkward to have her just standing there so I decided to leave while 2 of my friends stayed to look at some chairs they were thinking of getting. I barrowed my grandfathers truck to pick this up. got there and it was on back order. I did NOT receive a call to say it hadn't arrived. So I argued and they said they would deliver it for free. I got a call on 12/3/19 saying the dresser was in and that it would be delivered on 12/5/19. Fast forward...today is now 12/5/19 I received a text message saying "they are 15 minutes away. An hour goes by...I decide to call and the dresser is not even on the truck. If I hadn't called, because of that text message, I'd still be waiting. Called the help folks to find out where we could see the stuff. Symphony answered my call. She said we could order on line. I said we would. like to see it first. She said there's no store near us and so we could buy it with a no return policy.... WTF?????? She let me ask about three questions. All of which got the same routine answer which was basically take it or leave it asshole.... then she hung up on me. Living Spaces can't be long for this world if this how they are treating customers that want to buy from them.... I will never spend another dime with them. read more

I bought a sectional couch and an ottoman from them. The ottoman came with the plastic glider missing from two of its legs with one having a sharp metal piece protruding from it. I did not notice this at the time of delivery and only found out when I saw scratches on my wood floor and wonder where they came from. I flipped over the ottoman and a saw the piece of metal stick out without the glider; that's when I realized what caused the scratches. I called Living Spaces to file a property damage claim but never heard back. Every time I called to follow up, they would tell me someone will call me back but over a month has passed and still nobody called. I'm so, so disappointed in how they are handling this. I spent over $3,000 on the sectional and ottoman and this is the service I got? I would not recommend anyone to shop at LS in any location if this is the kind customer service you get. While I cannot speak for the sales associates, this review is entirely based off the crock of "extended coverage protection" they essentially rob your pockets for. If I could give no stars, I would. We purchased not one, but two different coverage plans for our entire bedroom set, and our large sectional. This was only after we were convinced that this protection plan was good insurance for our furniture. I will hand it to Living Spaces, they sell this coverage well. We have had two claims denied. The most recent was on our couch, a specific incident of a zipper ripping a whole in one of the cushions. We specifically stated this in our claim, as it is considered covered under the protection plan we purchased. The Warranty Department replied back stating, "Based on the information provided, it appears the damage you reported is not a covered issue. Unfortunately, the protection plan you purchased only covers damages specifically listed in the coverage section of your terms and conditions." I disputed this claim because it is explicitly worded that a specific incident/rip is covered. I even provided the wording from the terms and agreement, in my dispute. The warranty team denied the dispute stating," We received your letter of dispute and have taken the opportunity to review your claim and the supporting documentation. Based on your photos, it appears the damages are fraying of fabric, not a rip. Fraying is specifically excluded from coverage as this is considered normal wear and tear. As such, we regret to inform you that we are unable to take further action on your claim". Oh, NOW it is fraying from wear and tear? When it initially the claim was too vague to cover? Even though it is not fraying from wear and tear, as so provided by our evidence? I am confident they will deny it again. Truly fraudulent in the way they handle their warranty department. I purchased a couch in March and was very happy with my visit. Last month the couch started to tear at the seams. We had warranty so they reached out and had someone come and repair it. A few weeks later it happened in a different spot. It took them a week to reply back after seeing the photos we sent. But thankfully, they did! I would like to commend our awesome salesperson Maggie and her Manager Javier for such excellent service! We bought 2 mattresses and 2 adjustable bases from Living Spaces in the Monrovia location and we could not be more satisfied with the service that was provided to us!!! All our options were clearly explained to us and when we had to exchange our mattress for something softer, the recommendation made was truly great! Now my husband can sleep well with the mattress that we chose! Additional requests were addressed and granted and we could not be more satisfied with their service! Purchased a bed frame and mattress from Living Spaces. We spent north of $4500 on the bed in its entirety. Although, the delivery guys were nice, the set up was botched and the frame cracked and broke within hours of delivery. A week later we are still laying on a broken bed. I was duped into thinking that Living Spaces had quality customer service. It' takes act of Congress to get things moving with them and even now they are still nickel and diming us. There is zero attentiveness to the issue. It has taken multiple emails and calls to get things moving. The customer service rep in another state asked what specifically broke so they could send the specific parts (like I know what constitutes bed frame anatomy) Just fix the bed Living Spaces rather than given us the run around for days on in. I highly recommend going elsewhere. Additionally, they eventually came and fixed the bed finally (week later). They told us that they bed was set up initially incorrectly. They brought the replacement parts including ones that were not needed. They said they couldn't dispose of the broken parts or the ones that were extra. So we are stuck with these large pieces of bed parts that we are obligated to dispose of. How could the experience get worse? read more
