We purchased a recliner which had to be made because they wouldn't let us have the floor model. We got an extended warranty ant the time of purchase. When it was delivered to the home, the chair wasn't the same As the floor model. The arm rests were overstuffed which made the seat extremely narrow. We spoke with Several managers. The last man manager was Edith who said that the warranty department denied the claim because they said it was made properly. They said they would send somebody out, never called or followed up. We just wanted the chair fixed. We didn't want to return it. We just wanted it constructed properly. supposedly the warranty company denied it. They don't stand behind their products. I purchased a couch in March and was very happy with my visit. Last month the couch started to tear at the seams. We had warranty so they reached out and had someone come and repair it. A few weeks later it happened in a different spot. It took them a week to reply back after seeing the photos we sent. But thankfully, they did! Beyond disappointed in how ridgid Living Spaces has managed an error by their floor staff. We purchased a whole living room set, with an area rug and dining room table/chairs. So spent a lot of money. We purchased the "care plus" to protect our investment. The sales rep chose not to add our rug to the car plus and said to add it later once the rug arrived "if we liked it". Well, the rug came, we liked it, and when we called to add our rug to the "care plus", like we were instructed - low and behold - member services rep, and the next manager up and then the supervisor all stated "sorry, we can't add the rug to your already purchased rug". They proceeded to parrot the same verbiage of you have 3 days from the point of sale, not delivery, to add a rug. I was astounded as to why we could not add a rug that we purchased to a policy we purchased when their sales rep didn't add it, it was his error! They went on to say it's their policy and then blamed its "care plus" policy because they are a third party and it's their policy. The bottom line is there is no solution, no accountability, and an inability to offer a solution for their mistake. I suggested they purchase my rug back or exchange it, but they said nope, "sorry, past the 7 days," they can't do anything, "it's their policy". So now I have a rug that is not covered on a "care plus" plan I purchased due to their error. Something is very wrong here. read more

Wonderful experience.. so far My boyfriend and I bought a couch here. I love that we could just walk in and not get bothered by sales people following us around. The one person that did come up asked nicely if we wanted help, we wanted to look around on our own first and she was fine with that. Just said to ask whenever we needed help. When we finally did sit on a couch we loved I found a very nice lady named Sarah ( she spells its different) She was super helpful with picking out design, pillow colors and payment. It's was a smooth process! Delivery- The couch arrived within the time frame we picked out. The delivery guys were nice and super quick. The couch looked beautiful! Now.. I haven't had any experience yet with calling customer service to use the warranty ( which seems to be why this place has bad reviews). Nothing broken or spilled on it yet ( knock on wood). However, I have bought a couch here before and remember them sending me a cleaning kit when something spilled on that couch. I also have many friends and relatives that have shopped here and all had great experiences. They have great prices I would recommend coming here! read more

Purchased a bed frame and mattress from Living Spaces. We spent north of $4500 on the bed in its entirety. Although, the delivery guys were nice, the set up was botched and the frame cracked and broke within hours of delivery. A week later we are still laying on a broken bed. I was duped into thinking that Living Spaces had quality customer service. It' takes act of Congress to get things moving with them and even now they are still nickel and diming us. There is zero attentiveness to the issue. It has taken multiple emails and calls to get things moving. The customer service rep in another state asked what specifically broke so they could send the specific parts (like I know what constitutes bed frame anatomy) Just fix the bed Living Spaces rather than given us the run around for days on in. I highly recommend going elsewhere. Additionally, they eventually came and fixed the bed finally (week later). They told us that they bed was set up initially incorrectly. They brought the replacement parts including ones that were not needed. They said they couldn't dispose of the broken parts or the ones that were extra. So we are stuck with these large pieces of bed parts that we are obligated to dispose of. How could the experience get worse? read more

To file a claim for the insurance is horrible. Supervisor gives attitude right away. If you make an error on the claim, they tell you it's your fault and screwed. So forget them helping you. I understand if the workers are frustrated but to take it out on the customer? No. That's bad business. Can't even use the insurance we paid for. We have a tear on a couch and they said it looks like wear and tear. It's not wear and tear. Couches don't rip on their on in 3 years. I'm more frustrated on how the supervisors tone was. LIVING ROOM & DESK SET REVIEW: I needed quite a bit of furniture for three rooms. So I went to Living Spaces with my wish list. When I walked out of there almost three hours later I had done the following: * Opened a line of credit with 0% interest for THREE YEARS! * Purchased a Madison espresso leather love seat, chair, and sofa * Purchased two wood end tables, one coffee table, and one bookcase * Purchased a silver and white rug and two living room lamps * Purchased a solid wood three shelf table for my kitchen * Purchased an oatmeal fabric sofa & chaise * Purchased a Jaxon desk and Livingston bookcase for my bedroom Big order. Delivery fee of $99. It was much easier than having to collect all of this furniture myself. PROS: Did I mention 0% interest for three years? The customer service was excellent. Every corner I turned I was warmly greeted. One customer service associate spent about 90 min with me helping me select the furniture I needed and helping me open a line of credit. CONS: INSPECT your furniture carefully upon delivery. Two of my items were delivered damaged. I pointed this out to the delivery drivers and quickly made contact with Living Spaces to report the situation. I had to take pictures of the items, email them to Living Spaces, wait for a call back that never came, call again to inquire on the status of my replacement items, and schedule a replacement delivery date. It was very time consuming. TIP: Delivering furniture is not easy. I feel for the delivery drivers because they have a difficult job. Simplify things by clearing away your old furniture before your new furniture arrives. Clear the path for the drivers and of course make sure you tell the delivery team exactly where you want your furniture and point out any obstacles. Happy shopping! read more

Bought my couch Monday! First time big purchase, kind of a splurge but excited for getting rid of my hand me Downs and having something I actually own and picked out myself. Experience was amazing in the store everyone was safe, helpful, informative. I was told that I should thoroughly measure everything before it comes. So I did! Everything was going to fit perfectly! Until the driver shows Up and takes one look at my staircase and decides it will not fit! My current hand me down couch is bigger and heavier and I got it in my house up the stairs by myself WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL MOVERS! He made me sign a waver saying he was not responsible for damages to the couch and still refused to even try to get it in the door? He said maybe it will fit if he takes the packaging off, but he wasn't going to do that. All the while his partner was complaining they had another job to get to... I work in customer service. And there is no room for laziness and complaining when dealing with the customer. I am thoroughly disappointed. And now am being charged $100 delivery fee, for something not delivered, and $100 restocking fee. Altogether, a waste of time, energy, and $200 dollars to end up couch less. read more

2 stars for the Monrovia store. Zero customer service. I couldn't find any employees to help me so I ordered online. 2 stars for the online ordering process. Two of my items that I ordered turned out to be on backorder but I wasn't notified of this for 2 weeks, right before the expected delivery of said items. Also, the online ordering includes place for optional comments about special delivery needs, which they apparently ignored. 1 and 1/2 stars for their delivery system. I noted on my order that my neighborhood has a 3-ton limit and narrow streets but they'd not arranged for this so my pre-agreed to daytime delivery had to be changed to 6pm - midnight, when they could deliver with a smaller truck. The only good thing about the delivery is that you can track the delivery truck. My delivery was #2 of 6. They got to #1 at 7:53 pm (almost 2 hours to get to the first delivery??) and to me by about 8:35 pm. I feel bad for the last person who got furniture delivered probably around 11 pm. 4 stars for the two delivery guys who had to drive their not very small and probably over 3-ton truck up our hilly narrow streets in the dark, unload in the dark, and because this was outdoor furniture I bought, they had to bring around the side of the house. In the dark! But they did set it all up as required and the guys were pleasant to work with and caused no damage. Or at least none that I could see...in the dark. 2 stars for the quality of furniture. One of the cushions has a split seam. I checked the others and notice loose threads and just not very good sewing. I expected better at this price point. Time will tell how this $3800 (total with tax and delivery) outdoor furniture set holds up. Kinda wishing now I'd bought from Crate and Barrel instead. I called customer service about the cushion. They're sending a technician out Saturday to fix it. The woman on the phone apologized for the problems (cushion, late delivery, backordered chairs) and really did seem to want to help me. Buyer Beware!!! They will sell you furniture that is subpar when delivered. This place is deceptive and the furniture is not comfortable like you would expect living room furniture to be. I would rather buy used furniture than go back here for anything! No quality, is uncomfortable, and will not last. I asked if I could get my money back and they took 25% of the cost to return this stuff. So do not buy from cheaters! They do not have customer service just rude and noncompliant people that are robots and just repeat what is written for them. My couch ripped after only one year of having it, I called customer service to see if they can fix the broken zipper and they said warranty was only a year. My mom bought the same couch shortly after me since she loved mine so much. I called her and told her about my couch and she said hers had been broken in the same exact spot. The furniture is VERY nice, but it must be VERY cheap to only last a year. Customer service sounded very careless and I felt rushed to get off the phone. He said there's nothing that can be done or fixed. I would recommend purchasing somewhere else with better service and a company that takes responsibility for items that were just not made right. We don't use our couch often as we work all day and are gone at my sons extra curricular activities the rest of the day. I can only imagine if someone actually sat on it everyday to watch tv. Reading several reviews on yelp, I found myself hesitant to shop there, but you know how women are so we went inside. To our luck they appointments us to a wonderful store veteran woman named Kathy who was very patient and knowledgeable. She walked us to several living room furniture sets and helped us find what we were looking for. ( we are happy with the furniture) Ask for her. So I understand why customer service is terrible. Some of these millennials like both cashiers were very rude not only to us , but to the other customers. One women leaving the place whispered to us " Don't shop here, leave this place". We ordered a couch and an accent chair, but when they were delivered, we noticed a rip in the seam of the accent chair. We told them about the rip when we first noticed it, and they said they could fix it, but we would have to pay for labor. We explained that it's not our fault it was delivered like that, so eventually they gave us a $175 credit, but didn't tell us that it had an expiration date .. we'd go in periodically to see if there was anything we liked within that price range, and didn't find anything. When we tried to use it this month and they were like, "oh yeah this expired 30 days after we gave you the credit." We NEVER even received any kind of confirmation, no email, not even instructions on HOW to redeem the credit. The manager was not understanding at all and they could not provide any proof that we were informed of the expiration date. At first he said he could give us a non-negotiable $50 credit, which he later somehow changed to a $75 credit because "we looked like a nice couple", which was really condescending. Overall, it was just such a a terrible experience. Every day the rip gets bigger even though no one sits in it now. The quality is awful and their customer service is even worse. This review is for salesperson Shem Reyes. I had been looking at sofas for a few months, both online and in different stores. After a few months of looking around, I saw a sofa I liked at Living Spaces, and one I saw at Macys furniture in Pasadena. My requirements were that I wanted a comfortable sofa, which would fit into my small apartment, and on which I could comfortably read. The sofa I saw at Living Spaces was the Grandin. That is really comfortable and it has lumbar support. I would have to buy the ottoman with it, in order to be able to put up my feet when reading. But I am fine with that. The sofa I saw at Macys had a recliner, so that took care of my need for a place to read. It is small and it is definitely a space saver. I was torn between both. At it turned out, Shem had worked at Macys so he was familiar with the sofa that interested me. He spent quite a while talking to me about the pros and cons of each sofa. He also tried to asses my particular needs and asked questions so he could direct the conversation. At no time did I feel like I was being pitched. Shem does not engage in hard sales. Shem is able to sell furniture because he is knowledgeable, because he tries to assess the needs of his customers, and because he has a good bedside manner. I am still torn between the two sofas, the one at Living Spaces, and the other at Macys. Even if I wind up buying the sofa from Macys, I certainly will come back to Living Spaces to take care of my future furniture needs. I used to be a fan of Living Spaces, definitely thought it was better quality than the competitors. BUT recently I have had horrible experience and the quality is not the same. I bought a sofa and purchased the extended warranty, 9 months later I called because the zipper to all 3 cushions ripped. They said it was not covered under warranty!!! WHAT. I also bought a TV stand and the day of delivery I noticed the doors to the stand where not closing properly, I called they came back and adjusted the hinges, great! WELL no now the wooden door cracked all the way down, to the point where I cannot open the door because it will fall off. I filed a claim and one month later still have not heard back. Today I called to follow up and they said their warranty dept. is backed up and I will hear back soon. Hmmm wonder why it's backed up. The bunk beds I bought for my 1 year old and 4 year old broke the same day of delivery. My 4 year old daughter, 40-45 lbs, climbed the ladder to get in her bed and the second step literally broke off. Thank goodness she did not get hurt because the wood broke and a huge nail was sticking out. It took 2 weeks for the replacement ladder to come. My kids where sleeping on air mattresses. I refurnished my whole house at living spaces and I am so disappointed, I wish I would have shopped around. DO NOT buy the extended warranty, it is not worth it, a total ripoff. I was subjected to a hard sell tactic to purchase the top 5 year insurance coverage option for any damage past the manufacture warranty, for $374.25. The policy is under Uniter's Insurance. I am a small female Senior citizen who lives alone. At 100lbs I am hardly rough on furniture. My end recliner (where I prefer to sit) started to cracking and peeling at the 3 year mark. It continues to spread, effectively ruining my pieces with a huge unsightly "worn" patch. Living Spaces and Uniters insurance are denying responsibility for this flawed product and refusing to repair or replace. Came and ordered a dining room set from them Sunday, to be delivered on Wednesday - which costs $70 and they give you a 4hr window. Ok fine. Wednesday comes along - our 4hr window was between 4pm and 8pm. Guess what time they show up......3pm. Good thing I was here. The 2 guys ask where we wanted it, I showed em and they start putting the table together. The chairs were already assembled - So I check the chairs for knicks and scratches - looked ok. There was some sticky glue stuff left on one of the chairs, which I hope will come off with a lil elbow grease. Table was done and all seems good, I start moving the chairs over to table and noticed one of the chairs has a short leg....like half an inch off. The installers tell me to call customer service. I call them and they said they have to send a tech out to take a look at it and also I should send them a pic of the defective chair. Are you kidding me?????? They just dropped this off and now I have to wait til Saturday for you to have a tech come look at it? So the 2 installers leave. I will be called Friday to be told what time they are coming on Saturday. Fast forward to Friday - its 3pm and still no call. So I call them and they havent assigned a tech to my case yet and that they will call me by 9pm. WHAT??? So you're telling me my life is on hold til they call me by 9PM??? Tick tock tick tock.......7pm I get a call and they will be here between 11am and 1pm. TO BE CONTINUED. So the tech comes out Saturday morning on time - looks at the chair and knows right away how to fix it, he takes it apart, flex's the wood then puts it back together. Took him like 5 minutes to get it corrected. Guy was professional and honest about the quality control from living spaces. Its really a shame our relationship started off on a bad note. read more

A few years later, with the five-year extended warranty that I was convinced to purchase, my love seat is now failing on the mechanism Also there is wear and tear on the couch and is very flimsy and when doing my warranty report if you don't mention every little aspect of what is wrong with your couch, your service technician will not repair it. My service technician that came in today was rude and would not look at anything other than was on his service report (I made a clear video on the service report, showing everything wrong with the couch) making this whole situation very frustrating. I'm very appreciative of all the extra safety measures living spaces Monrovia has taken. In store Customer services is great overall with the exception of a couple of young ladies who seemed annoyed when I asked them for help as I interrupted their conversation. I spent 2600 on a dinning room table, 4 chairs and one bench. The table and 3 chairs were delivered on October 7 a couple of weeks ago, I called customer services only to find out that they were under the impression my complete order was delivered. Which is odd since a week after our order was delivered customer service called and we personally informed them that our order was incomplete. We've called customer service 3 times and all 3 times my request was escalated and I was told to wait for a call ..... well its been a week from my last call and no follow up. We ordered a bed frame and paid extra for delivery and assembly. Then we were told that delivery would be at any time between 5pm and 10pm. The bed ended up coming at at around 11:30 pm. The delivery drivers fumbled for about an hour only to tell me that they were missing a piece needed to install the storage drawer (we also paid extra for). One of the gentlemen kept saying "you should be receiving a call tomorrow" without much else. He stammered on about entering notes in his app without much direction or context. I also pointed out a part of the exposed bed frame that was clearly missing a bolt, and they dismissed it. I was told they'd check their delivery truck for the missing drawer piece but that never happen. They just left with a bunch of pieces they told me I only needed if I "had the model without the drawer." Figuring they'd never come back, I tried to move the bed frame a bit to where I wanted it. But when I tried to push it, I noticed they hardly screwed the bolts on because the entire frame felt loose and unstable. Even worse, they failed to install the center support structure which made the entire mattress sag toward the middle. As a parting gift one of the workers dropped a box on the way out, waking our little one. They also left bits of packing material everywhere for us to clean up later. So Living Spaces gets one star for their delivery services because yelp doesn't let me rate them with zero stars. And to be clear I don't blame the delivery drivers. I blame Living Spaces, Inc. (or whatever they're incorporated as). These delivery drivers were on their 12 delivery of the evening. Why? Hire more delivery people, Living Spaces. Pay higher wages for delivery drivers so that maybe you could attract workers who are at least willing to do the bare minimum instead of utterly neglecting to provide the service we paid for! Maybe you'll even be able to hire someone with an inkling if customer service skills. This experience will serve as a deterrent from ever buying anything from Living Spaces again. read more

If you do not look like you're going to spend a couple thousand dollars of furniture, they won't even give you the time of day. Walked around for about 20 minutes and no one asked if I needed help with anything or even acknowledge me so I will be taking my money elsewhere and buying from somebody better. read more
