We tried this place lunch during the first day of our stay in Chicago. It was right next to our hotel which was very convenient. I can't remember our bartender's name, but she was super friendly and consistently checked on us. I had to try the Lizzie Burger since it's their namesake item lol. It was a very delicious burger! My wife and her cousin ordered salads and enjoyed them as well. I love this place. Bummed that the outdoor seating isn't set up yet because it's such a beautiful day, but looking forward to it soon! Lizzie's is always a must stop for us whenever we're in town and I recommend it to everyone. When the weather gets there, it's right next to the centennial fountain too, so that's always a fun thing to see. Located in a beautiful spot off the river with indoor and outdoor seating. Our hostess was kind and tried to help us find a spot outside with good shade. Our waitress brought us waters and then came back to take our order which was nice cause it was toasty out. There was a bit of a wait for food but it was Saturday so I'm sure they were busy in the kitchen. Everyone liked their lunch but it was nothing to rave about by any means. Everyone loved the soft pretzel. My mom didn't enjoy her Ruben said meat was cut too thick and it was chewy. Maybe would have given 4 stars but we unfortunately had an unpleasant experience with our server. She was not welcoming or attentive and didn't check in often. She was also just very unfriendly and gave us some sass even to my niece who is only 11. After waiting for our check for a while and not seeing our server anywhere we eventually stood up and went near the hostess stand to look for her to pay the bill which she was not happy about just very passive aggressive and lots of eye rolls. Worst Cosmo ever but it's an Irish pub I should've known better lol. The chicken bacon salad surely made up for it! It was delicious. My husband and I were trying to kill time before our flight. This place is located directly by the Sheraton so we decided to try it. We were excited to see tater kegs in the menu as those are a fave of ours. They were delicious! Our server was very attentive. We ate lunch here yesterday with our daughter and s-i-l. I ordered the Ruben. It was not good: the corned beef was thick, with large pieces of fat running through it and very tough; difficult to chew. No flavor. Because we were with company, I didn't want to complain a lot so I took the corned beef out and ate the rest of the "sandwich". We never saw a server after we ordered. At the end, when she came to clear the table, I said this was not very good; it was tough and fatty. She looked at my plate and said "Well some of it must have been good, you ate everything else.". We walked over from The Sheraton Grand since the hotel has limited food options. We waited only about 10 minutes on a Friday night and the wait staff was super friendly. Huge selection of beers and cocktails. We stayed with the Guinness BBQ wings which were crisp and moist and very tasty. Also tried the Chicken and Chips which was a huge amount of chicken fingers and fries. Had buffalo sauce on the side which they needed as the breading did not have much flavor. Other people in my party had burgers which they said were very good. This place is a great Irish bar located along the Chicago River. Tried out this pub on our most recent Chicago trip in Sept 2024. My husband wanted to see the centennial fountain shoot over the Chicago river since it's been off for 3 years, so we decided to stop for food and a place to watch. We were sat quickly and were the only ones there as it was a Monday around 11 am, but I'm sure it gets busier on weekends since it's on the river walk. Came last year 2021 and it was raining. We stopped in here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Still the height of covid so mask were required. In 2021, bag pipe band had came into the bar. It was amazing. Had the best acoustic inside the bar. Jump to 2022, we were in the area again and wanted to see this bar when it wasn't raining. Its a great location on the riverwalk and the interior is snug. Was there on a football Sunday and there were good opportunities for watching your choice of football game. The service was prompt and friendly and they are ok with you bringing a dog in. A couple of good NA beer options (which is what I like to drink). However, the Ruben sandwich was only mediocre. What a damn charming bar. A real bar's bar. If you are staying at the Sheraton, this is the bar to go to. I recently visited Chicago over the holidays and found that the hotel bar closes early in the winter when it's slow. What struck me was that everything was exactly what you want in an end of the night bar. - Dartboard - Random young people yelling while doing shots. - two guys watching sports - and the perfect amount of Christmas lights and garland that says, "We try, but not to damn hard."
