I love this place. Bummed that the outdoor seating isn't set up yet because it's such a beautiful day, but looking forward to it soon! Lizzie's is always a must stop for us whenever we're in town and I recommend it to everyone. When the weather gets there, it's right next to the centennial fountain too, so that's always a fun thing to see. Our servers are always fantastic and always do the perfect amount of checking in which very much is an art form! I think the best deal they have is their double dog basket. Two Chicago Dogs and fries are a perfect combo at a perfect price. This is a fantastic pub right on the Chicago River - the staff is terrific and the food and drink offerings are top notch-- For a special flavor burst ask for an Irish Mist on the rocks! When the place busts out into a Polish song the bar becomes unhinged, making it the go to spot in Streeterville ! Our server was amazing, we had a large group of ~10 and our server consistently checked in on us and made sure we all had drinks and food as quickly as she was able to (it was a PACKED bar that night). I tried the Ruben roll, it was pretty tasty; I would definitely order it again. The cocktails weren't great but it wasn't a big deal as we decided to just stick to beer after that. We ate lunch here yesterday with our daughter and s-i-l. I ordered the Ruben. It was not good: the corned beef was thick, with large pieces of fat running through it and very tough; difficult to chew. No flavor. Because we were with company, I didn't want to complain a lot so I took the corned beef out and ate the rest of the "sandwich". We never saw a server after we ordered. At the end, when she came to clear the table, I said this was not very good; it was tough and fatty. She looked at my plate and said "Well some of it must have been good, you ate everything else.". Worst Cosmo ever but it's an Irish pub I should've known better lol. The chicken bacon salad surely made up for it! It was delicious. My husband and I were trying to kill time before our flight. This place is located directly by the Sheraton so we decided to try it. We were excited to see tater kegs in the menu as those are a fave of ours. They were delicious! Our server was very attentive. Stopped into Lizzie McNeill's and was disappointed to find they didn't have any draught beers available -- definitely a letdown for an Irish pub. We ended up with bottled beers and wine instead. The wine itself (a Syrah) was actually pretty decent, but it was served in a plastic cup, which took away from the experience. We walked over from The Sheraton Grand since the hotel has limited food options. We waited only about 10 minutes on a Friday night and the wait staff was super friendly. Huge selection of beers and cocktails. We stayed with the Guinness BBQ wings which were crisp and moist and very tasty. Also tried the Chicken and Chips which was a huge amount of chicken fingers and fries. Had buffalo sauce on the side which they needed as the breading did not have much flavor. Other people in my party had burgers which they said were very good. This place is a great Irish bar located along the Chicago River. I want to come back in the summer as they offer lots of seating along the river with great views of the city. read more

Tried out this pub on our most recent Chicago trip in Sept 2024. My husband wanted to see the centennial fountain shoot over the Chicago river since it's been off for 3 years, so we decided to stop for food and a place to watch. We were sat quickly and were the only ones there as it was a Monday around 11 am, but I'm sure it gets busier on weekends since it's on the river walk. We ordered the double dog basket, which was a great deal. $15 for 2 yummy Chicago dogs and fries! Paired with a cold beer, it was the quintessential Chicago summer meal. Came last year 2021 and it was raining. We stopped in here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Still the height of covid so mask were required. In 2021, bag pipe band had came into the bar. It was amazing. Had the best acoustic inside the bar. Jump to 2022, we were in the area again and wanted to see this bar when it wasn't raining. Vibe much more lively this year as mask mandates removed and outside tent sent up. Lots of local streeterville patrons here. We had a beer and then headed to our other spot for dinner. We absolutely love the food at D4. It appears this place serves food but it was just too crowded to eat. read more

What a damn charming bar. A real bar's bar. If you are staying at the Sheraton, this is the bar to go to. I recently visited Chicago over the holidays and found that the hotel bar closes early in the winter when it's slow. So, I went down the escalator and out the door by the burger place, and was greeted by the perfect local bar. To be fair I didn't try the food but what i saw going out looked good. I did have a few beers and each was cold and well served. My gf had a few glasses of wine and she enjoyed each. What struck me was that everything was exactly what you want in an end of the night bar. - Dartboard - Random young people yelling while doing shots. - two guys watching sports - and the perfect amount of Christmas lights and garland that says, "We try, but not to damn hard." It's perfect. The waitress was attentive and friendly and the bartender gave me a knowing, "knock that off" smile when I was drunkenly table drumming. To which I sheepishly shrugged and knocked it off, she wasn't wrong. Like I said, perfect bar. When you're traveling and you just want to end your night the exact right way, this is the place. Its a great location on the riverwalk and the interior is snug. Was there on a football Sunday and there were good opportunities for watching your choice of football game. The service was prompt and friendly and they are ok with you bringing a dog in. A couple of good NA beer options (which is what I like to drink). However, the Ruben sandwich was only mediocre. This was a great low key spot near the river but off then beaten path a bit. My husband read that they had a great Chicago beef...and they did. We came on an off day for lunch so it wasn't busy, but I bet they get swamped on weekends and summer. We split the Rueben rolls and Chicago beef and both were amazing. Loved the free popcorn you could help yourself to, have us some real up north Michigan vibes. The Magners on draft was amazing and made us feel like we were back in Ireland.
