Exceptional from start to finish…read more I don't write reviews very often, but Pro Comfort Control absolutely earned this one. From beginning to end, the customer service experience was outstanding. Ryan, the owner, personally came out for the initial inspection of our existing HVAC system and walked through everything that would be involved. There was no high-pressure sales pitch--just a genuinely down-to-earth guy who clearly loves what he does. His passion for quality workmanship was obvious from our very first conversation, and that level of care carried through the entire project. Nicole, who handled all of the financing paperwork and Mass Save coordination, was equally incredible. I called several times with questions throughout the process, and she was always patient, gracious, and happy to help. Navigating financing, rebates, and paperwork can be overwhelming, but she made the entire process feel easy. One thing I especially want to highlight is their quoting and proposal system. It's modern, informative, and incredibly easy to understand. I did have a couple of clarification questions along the way, but overall I really appreciated how transparent and technology-forward the entire process was. It made comparing options and making decisions much less stressful. Once everything was approved through the bank and Mass Save, they got us on the schedule much faster than I expected. Before the HVAC installation could begin, we needed to upgrade our electrical service to 200 amps. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Pro Comfort Control coordinated that work through one of their trusted electrical partners, DMC Electric. Another company I had received a quote from expected me to hire an electrician separately, so having everything managed through one point of contact made the process much easier. The electricians--both named Dan--were fantastic. They were professional, efficient, respectful of our home, and their workmanship was excellent. It was clear that Pro Comfort Control surrounds themselves with partners who share the same commitment to quality. The HVAC installation itself was every bit as impressive. We had a dual-fuel heat pump system installed, along with significant repiping of older gas and water lines. They also corrected a number of issues left behind by the previous homeowners, whose workmanship left a lot to be desired. Rather than simply replacing equipment, they took the time to improve the entire mechanical room. It's obvious they take pride in leaving things better than they found them. Pat and Cooper were the primary technicians I worked with, along with another installer on the second day whose name I unfortunately can't remember. They arrived exactly when they said they would, walked me through the plan before getting started, and made sure we were aligned on every detail. Throughout the two-day installation they were always happy to answer my questions, explain what they were doing, and keep me updated on their progress. It's obvious these guys are highly skilled craftsmen who genuinely care about doing the job right. The attention to detail was exceptional. They protected our floors with drop cloths, kept the work area organized throughout the project, cleaned up meticulously at the end of each day, and somehow managed to leave the space cleaner than when they arrived. The finished installation looks clean, organized, and professionally done. As someone who owned and operated a small business for more than 10 years, I know how difficult it is to consistently deliver this level of customer service. This is a family-run business, and you can feel that pride and accountability in every interaction. Everyone I dealt with genuinely cared about the outcome--not just finishing the job. If you're looking for a company to install a heat pump, replace your HVAC system, or tackle more complicated mechanical work, stop searching and call Pro Comfort Control. They're honest, knowledgeable, exceptionally skilled, and genuinely care about their customers. In an industry where it's hard to know who to trust, they exceeded every expectation we had. I recommend them without hesitation and would gladly hire them again.

UPDATE: A few hours after writing this we LOST ALL HEAT DURING A BLIZZARD. No power interruptions,…read moreit is THE SYSTEM NOT WORKING YET AGAIN. Called only to be told we'd get NO help or support for two days. Our entire house is only around 55 degrees now and we can't safely leave. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am so unbelievably upset. We called Friday asking for help and now here we are, heatless with two kids home during a blizzard. ----------------------------------- I waited a long time to write this review because we gave SumZero many opportunities to correct ongoing issues that have existed since day one of installation (a few years back). Unfortunately, we continue to have persistent problems with both heating and cooling. We have two young kids and at this point it is unacceptable these issues haven't been resolved. In the summer, our back room with vaulted ceilings is consistently 5+ degrees warmer than the rest of the house. In the winter, that same room is always about 5 degrees colder. The main living areas also had issues for the first few years, struggling to maintain temperature in the summer and leaving the house humid and unable to hold the thermostat setting some days. After extensive back-and-forth, SumZero ultimately replaced the entire outdoor unit, stating we must have received a "lemon." That replacement was installed this past summer, yet the temperature imbalance in our back living room remains unchanged this winter. Separately, we were provided a mini-split for our partial basement living room. That unit is unreliable and often does not work at night. The settings are correct, we have tried power cycling and resetting the breaker, and it still works only intermittently. It has been set to 68°F for days, yet the room is currently 56°F with no warm air blowing, despite the unit being on. My husband and I have contacted SumZero countless times over multiple seasons and years. Even after replacing major equipment, we still do not have a system that can adequately heat and cool our home as promised. The heat pump system installed through MassSave has never performed adequately in the years since installation. I understand that some older heat pumps can struggle in extreme conditions, but high-efficiency systems (like one we should have received via MassSave rebate with SumZero) should be able to handle New England winters and hot, humid summers., from my research. Ours cannot do either consistently. At this point, we are exhausted from having to address these issues every few months. While the customer service representatives and technicians are polite, no one has been able to properly fix the system. I strongly recommend going with another company if you want to avoid a long-term headache. Photos show mini split remote temp set to 68 but room thermostat shows 56, this is a common occurrence. Other photo shows main house ecobee (new thermostat for heat pump unit) set to 70 (has been set to this for months) but it's only at 65 in reality and continues to go down. The back room with vaulted ceilings thermostat currently reads 59 even though it should be at 70.

Great company! Honest people and fair prices…read more If you're anything like me, you hate shoddy work, and in the home remodeling industry, there's a lot of that. I would rather pay a premium to ensure it is done right and the quality is there. SumZero does that and more. We called, and within a day, they sent one of their experts, Raphael G., to quote us for ductless mini-splits to outfit our home. He was very thorough, offering different options that would work for our living room and bedrooms, which are boiling and humid during the summertime. He made the process extremely easy for us to understand and was willing to work directly with our condo association to accommodate their requests. We're still waiting to get them approved by our condo association, as there is a lot of work involved in obtaining approval. However, so far, the experience has been nothing but easy and painless. I'm looking forward to having the mini-splits installed.

Is anyone else having problems with MacFarlane Energy of Dedham, Ma?…read moreI've been a customer for many, many years and always paid my bills before they were due. They've been great.. up until recently, when they started advertising on TV! I'm on Automatic Delivery and I noticed that my Oil Tank Levels have gotten quite low before they've come to fill the tank the last couple of months. This month it's even worse! I called them on Thursday because my tank was showing less than 1/8 Tank. I was worried about running out of oil and my pipes freezing in this extremely cold weather. They assured me I'd have oil delivered by Saturday. It never happened! Currently, my oil tank gauge is reading "Empty"! I called again today, Saturday Afternoon at 3:30 pm. I got the answering service who told me the office was closed but that a service technician would call me back. It is now 7:40 PM and I still haven't heard back from them. A call back would be nice, so that I can get an update and/or if I need to call someone else to deliver fuel! Not knowing is the worst part! My anxiety is Over the Top right now because running out of oil and losing my heat (as well as damage to my heating system) is just hours away because of their INCOMPETENCE! This is totally UNACCEPTABLE & UNNECESSARY!

They are local BVT grads, then went to Mass Maritime before starting their business. I called and someone picked up immediately. I had a very pleasant conversation with the person on the phone. I thought I was going to have to wait a long time for an appointment as it is summer, but he had a gentleman, Adam, out to us the next morning. Adam arrived at 8, on time, professional, called before he arrived. We had asked because we needed to lock up the dogs. Adam looked at our air conditioner and immediately identified the problem, explained it and took care of everything. He wore foot protection and cleaned up everything. The price was very reasonable and Adam recommended cleaning once a year and changing the filters twice a year. I highly recommend this company.
