We bought a box of flooring to lock in the sale rate that the sales associate Sam informed us of, while we getting final numbers from our installer. The associate Sam was nice in store but when it came to getting the refund for the price difference he would give non stop excuses of he's on vacation and the only one who can do it, he's on lunch, he's not here etc. NEVER got an email reply or a phone call. Just constant ghosting. I emailed multiple times to get this resolved with no response. I had to call multiple times and each time "Oh I thought that was taken care of", we will let the manager know. They clearly either don't care about their customers, falsely advertised or are just so disorganize that they can't seem to follow up with anything. Either way not a company you want to work with especially if you run into any warranty issues. I can't even imagine how bad that would be. They also were aware of our install date weeks out and was given no information on how to move forward to make sure they got here on time despite emails asking for next steps. No knowing the product was not in store they waited until I called, per usual, to tell us we need to have it ordered within a few hours in order for a CHANCE for it to get on a truck in time for delivery. They also did not have the T-molds we ordered and paid for with pickup from our installers and have not refunded or contacted us proactively about that either. Horrible company. read more

John has made a couple of extra deliveries for us (we really really really appreciate that) and Robert and Erika did a great job with measuring and installing and completing it on time before Christmas (we were moving in at Christmas time). It was too bad that I learned how horrible LL was AFTER lured into their "low price" and "satisfaction guaranteed" marketing skits. Everyone I have spoken to, including contractors who have worked with them, did not enjoy their experience with LL. - The customer service stops after they get your money. Then it was just rude and clueless. - Their sales staff doesn't know anything about floors. They seem like they do, but they really don't. In my case, I brought in my existing floor and asked them to match as close as they can. They know, or they should know, that wood changes color over time. They still sold me the brand new wood, now I have red floor (old) and yellow floor. - Their communication between warehouse/main office/contractor/estimator is horrible. I basically elaborated my requests five times to five different groups of people and still didn't get what I originally intended. - This is no secret, they discontinue the product after it's sold out. 1. Delivered wrong stuffs, even though I went to store in person to cancel the stairs installation. The store assistant told me it's customer's responsibility to return un-used products in order to get the refund back. I paid $199 for delivery already. Now I have to maybe take a day off and find the right kind of car to return those stuffs that I told them I don't need it before the delivery. 2. The installation, I waited until the 5th week since I purchased the materials from the store. They delayed the date for scheduling flooring installation first then keep making promises will finish in one day, then the second day found the problem for the uneven floor, the solution is sand the house structural beam down a bit and that will cost $800 cash pay to specialist. The third day, the specialist came said just use the concrete to level the other side which is what I suggested in the beginning, it took less than 4 hours for the specialist to finish. I though it would cost definitely because I went to Lowe's to meet the guy and paid for the materials, and the job is just regular concrete leveling, they insisted on the price got to be $800. We Google this type of work the maximum is around $300 for 50 sqft. We paid him $550 not including the materials that I paid for. I have no invoice, I don't know how they come up the price, I have to agree in order to keep the installation going. 3. The installation not only they delay the date, they also doesn't do things as they promised, for example, we waited 3 days for the installation to be done. The third day they only sent one guy to install two rooms, about 4-500 sqft. Their whole team was working in the other house, they even told me that house had the same issues as my house. The team showed up around 7pm and finished at 8:30pm. I had lots of things lined up to do and I still manage to buy them lunch and drinks. But the result is I have to return the stuffs they don't use and paid extra $800 cash. 4. I went to store in person 3 times, during installation they even told me go to store pick up the materials they needed. I did. I have done everything that I could to make this process go smoothly. Not only that cost me above $9000 USD, is the service are too bad, their policy are ridiculous. 5. Above all, I strongly not recommend this company. This is not my first time have flooring done, but this time is the worst. When you think it's not gonna be worst, and it just keep happening. I'm completely renovating my house right now, so my husband and I are on a ridiculously tight budget and needed new wood floors. I didn't want to go with Pergo or the fake stuff, but was really hoping to do hardwood or bamboo (since it's green). We went to Lumber Liquidators probably 3 or 4 times before we actually decided on something. I don't know what "smell" the first guy was talking about. It smells like wood in there... perhaps sometimes it smells like wood glue if you're really sensitive to that sort of thing. I definitely wasn't overwhelmed with a smell. I was, however, overwhelmed by the small space we were in with way too many people. I wish they'd get a larger location, but it is a discount lumber place, what do you expect? The other thing I wasn't so fond of is the lack of help we got. If you want help, you have to wait for it... sometimes for a good half hour. HOWEVER, it was worth the wait when we got bamboo floors at an amazing price. In fact, the floors I wanted, weren't all from the same shipment, so the manager of the store gave us a better quality of bamboo that was all from the same shipment (so it would match) at the same price we would've gotten the other wood for (about a dollar off per sq. ft.). Thus, I fell in love with this place. Sure, it can be difficult to get some costumer service, but once you do they treat you right. If you're remodeling on a budget, I recommend checking these guys out, and being patient... after all, you have to give some to get some. PS: My bamboo floors look amazing. read more

Where's that Zero Star option? Walking in here is a BAD idea. Situated on east I-35 between the delightful Rundberg and St. Johns, they certainly achieve low rent and a warehouse setup. The real horror is the SMELL. Imagine solar nails crossed with nail polish remover, crossed with superglue, crossed with something that you have to be over 18 to purchase because you could get hiiiiiiigh just standing in this store for two minutes. And then you will promptly want to leave because you will suddenly feel like hurling. This lumber could have been 2 cents a foot and I still would have walked out the door. No salesman said hello, no one apologized for the smell, and generally, I found myself ready to leave instantly. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store. The Lowe's on Shoal Creek has better deals anyhow. read more

Do not purchase from LL Flooring. Their product is of poor quality, and they DO NOT stand behind their warranty. I recently purchased around 1000 sq ft of flooring. It was installed in the kitchen, when just a few weeks later I noticed that 1-2 pieces were starting to peel from the edge. After another week or two I noticed even more were peeling. I reached out to LL Flooring customer service who was initially great at getting my claim started. I was then assigned a representative to help me through the claims process. She often slow and unresponsive with questions, following up, and scheduling things. She asked for a sample so that they could test it to see whether it was defective. After waiting several weeks for "testing"she responded that it was "not defective" and they would not be able to replace it. This floor was peeling after not even 2-3 month of normal wear and tear. I'm incredibly disappointed and will never be shopping here again. I encourage others to look elsewhere if you're looking for a quality product and a company that stands behind the warranty. read more

Hi - i've seen a pretty wide array of reviews about LL but I've bought wood from them for 4 rooms and it's all been pretty good. i have done 2 rooms with bamboo, one room with cork and one room with engineered hardwood and in each case, the material has arrived on time in good condition. I've had wood delivered, and i've picked it up. I've always used their branded underlayment and vapor barriers, and it's worked out well. When i've had excess trim or material., they've taken it back with no problem. The only 'issue' was one time i returned a box of material 2 months after i received it and got hit with a re-stocking charge. But to be honest, I knew about that before i returned it - and they gave me store credit with no problem. Looking around Austin, LL definitely seems to have the best quality stuff in stock - i have no complaints - and the folks there gave me some good install advice too... read more

We recently purchased laminate flooring here. The prices are reasonable and the variety in selection was great. I appreciate the way the displays are set up so that you can easily tell what type of flooring and price range you're looking at. There are also good sample sizes that can be picked up and moved around, as well as many samples on the floor. All of this made it much easier to make a selection. Granted, the space in the showroom is tight but that means more room in the warehouse so we were able to get all of our wood right away. The trim however, was another story, which brings me to customer service. We were fortunate to be able to go in on a weekday morning when it wasn't too busy. We didn't have to wait for a sales person. The order was quickly written up. All of that went very smooth. It turned out that not all of our baseboard was in stock, some of it had to be ordered. The order indicated that it would arrive in 7 to 14 days. Eight weeks later, I called to check on the order. This is when customer service went down. They wouldn't say anything except that they needed to check on the order and they would call back, which they didn't. I had to call three more times over the next three weeks before I got a straight answer and then it was only to say that my order had arrived. Needless to say, I was highly annoyed. I had already borrowed a vehicle to pick up the main order. After all of that hassle, I asked them to have it delivered to me. Fortunately they did. In the end, the floors look great. I would go back again but I don't think I will mess with anything that has to be special ordered. We hired an independent installer and we are completely satisfied with our final product. read more

So, this is a double edged sword. I've done 3 different rooms with LL products. Two of the rooms I did myself. Unfortunately for the first room, I hired a contractor. It's easy enough to compare because all three of the rooms listed went into the same house, the same slab and used the same product. Also, the same type of flooring came out of each room. First the contractor installed room. This was crap. I wish I had known then what I know now. Floor prep is EVERYTHING. The concrete HAS to be flat or the floor is going to creek and snap...it really doesn't matter what method you use to secure it. One of their certified installers had NO idea what they were doing. They were shaving down corners of 1/4 in plywood to get the slab flat. Really? Never heard of self leveler? There are gaps in the floor, gaps against the wall and chips in the wood. The floor feels spongy and sounds awful. This was a nail down floor. Now, the self installed rooms. One was glue down and one I nailed down. Both had a 1" plywood subfloor. I took my time, did my research and then did the appropriate prep work. The slabs are flat...I guarantee that. The glue down floor was a horrible mess and a horrible pain in the butt. That said, it is the most solid floor in the world. It would literally take a bulldozer to get that floor up. It feels solid, doesn't creek and looks professional. The nail down floor feels almost as good as the glue down. I have only been able to find 1 intermittent creek in a 400sq foot room. I can live with that. The lesson here is to do your research and take your time doing the install. No one is going to care more about how your floor comes out than you. If you aren't the do it yourself kind of person, do your research and hire a good floor contractor. Use Thumbtack or Angie's list and read the reviews. LL and their certified installers do not have your best interest at heart in my opinion and that's to be expected...they are in business to make as large a profit as possible. Remember that. One final note. The staff at LL is very nice but they are the most unorganized business ever. They have no idea what they have in stock or what has been discontinued. To this day, they still say they owe me 1/2 a box of floor but can't figure out how to process the refund or give me the flooring which I don't need. I get weekly bonus emails reminding me of this fact. Again, do your research and know what you want, how it should be installed and how much you need BEFORE you go in. I think their products are sound, but their customer service is unintentionally lacking. I will buy from them again, but I know what I'm getting into. read more

I am so disappointed with lumber liquidators. My family has been exposed to high levels of formaldehyde! I have asthma. I was pregnant and now with my new son have exposed him to this product. I purchased a product that was advertised as California phase 2 compliant (safer than EPA guidelines for off gassing of home products). I watched the 60 minutes special. My product was listed as one of the laminates containing "amounts of toxic formaldehyde that may not meet health and safety standards". Of course, I contact the company to receive help(they don't contact me). I perform the air quality test in April of 2014, with a private company ($350) & I do the test kit from lumber liquidators. Both tests show elevated levels above EPA guidelines. Then, November 9 they take a plank sample. To send to an independent laboratory. Results were to be mailed to me in 6 weeks. It is now 10 weeks later. No results. I call the company bi weekly. They say " I will email another dept. They will get back to you in 2 days". No one ever calls. I stay at home. So, no excuses. Why do you not contact the customers, when you say you will, with follow up care? I have called urging a faster process , at the recommendation of my pediatrician. My pediatrician said, "no level of a toxin is ok. They need to help you" Nothing from the company seems to happen. How many months will my family be exposed to formaldehyde? This company knowingly exposed there customers -- and falsely advertised a safe product. read more

Sales people were uncertain how many boxes I needed for my 200 sq ft manufactured wood install. Received different info from 2 different staff. Ended up purchasing almost 3 extra boxes (i.e., over 50 feet too much). Was disappointed; however, location manger Mike was awesome! Very understanding and made me a satisfied customer. I wish I could give these guys zero stars. This has been such a terrible experience this second time around. I told LL that I needed 400+ sg ft of wood. They sold me 15 boxes and then ordered two more from Houston (b/c they were out in the Austin store) which I paid 30 bucks shipping on out of pocket. I assumed that they knew what they were doing... The two boxes from Houston arrived damaged and mostly unusable. I used a floor installer based on yelp reviews that was not associated with LL (ie. I took the hint to NOT use the LL contractor from the various scary reviews I read). The installer began installiung the floor, called, and said I only had 389 sq ft of wood- and that's counting the damaged wood where only some can be salvaged. Nightmare. Waiting for a call back, but if my original purchase of the wooda few weeks ago is any indication, I won't get a straight answer from anyone for a week. I recently had $22614.00 worth of flooring dome by this company, this was complete disaster from the word go. They were really quick to get my money, but that was about the only thing they did right. They way over estimated the materials they would need, then charged me to additional money to pick up the excess. Their subcontractors forgot to bid certain parts of the job, even though they were clearly pointed out to him then tried to charge me for their mistakes. The sub contractor to the subcontractor was late every single day, and broke numerous problems to return to clean up the mess. This company literally does know what the left and right hands are doing. I got phone calls from these guys weeks after doing the install telling me they were ready to do the install. This is just one example of the issues that we had with them. There were many more problems that what I can go into here, I would just say use someone else, otherwise, you will wish you did read more

I bought flooring, the click together wood flooring from Costco. Got it home, let it set for the 7 days then opened it. Someone had returned it but had stuffed the boxes with all their scraps! I was in a bind. I had 2 days to lay a floor before I needed to move and Costco didn't have the inventory to replace the bad boxes they sold me. In comes Lumber Liquidators.... they saved my butt! I got a better quality floor, and it went together so easy. I will buy flooring for the rest of my house from them. Horrible service. They screwed up the order three times in the span of a week. Delivered the wrong product, then they delivered the right product late but not the whole order. THEN, they delivered the rest of it and it wasn't the whole order. When you call, they say "well let me check on that and call you back" and they never do. They do not have a process for getting back to the customers that have ordered as they put walk in business first. I've waited several months to give Lumber Liquidators a chance to make it right but their way of dealing with problems is to just keep putting it off until the customer just gives up so hopefully, I can spare someone else the pain I experienced. 1) They ARE going to underbid your project to get your business. Expect the bid to come in higher than they say. Between Lumber Liquidators and their partner, Woodwalk Floors (I'll write a separate review on them), my two room project went over by $2600 which was what I had for furniture so now I have a nice room with bamboo floors and no furniture! 2) In addition to what they are going to add on to the bid after you've committed, they are going to sell you a bunch of other stuff and they will imply that if you don't buy it, they cannot warranty your floor. Here is what they added on to my bill; $19.00 for some hardwood floor kit; $48.00 for TWELVE bottles of floor cleaner (so far, I've only found ONE); $5.00 of felt pads that I don't need; $17.00 for wet and dry mop pads; $7.00 for "scratch-away"; a $5.00 trowel; and $30.00 of painters tape which I already had. Let's see.... that's an extra $132.00 that they snuck on without my knowledge (the crew who does your floors just brings it out and leaves it at your house). 3) They will also imply that you have to go through their even worse partner, Woodwalk Floors, for the installation or (yes) they won't warranty your floors. 4) The service is terrible. It is hard to be acknowledged or to get help and as I said earlier, if you have a problem, they will find some way to put it off (send you somewhere else, tell you they need something that you'll have to spend time looking for, tell you that you have to come in personally, etc...) until you finally just give up. Lumber Liquidators, I don't have time to call you or come in any more. I wish you would have made some effort to fix this because you cheated me and you made no attempt to correct it. You are dishonest and lacking basic customer service. If you'd like to make this right, it will have to be on your time, not mine. My boyfriend and I went here today and it was pretty nice. Sure, the location is terrible, but that's not really why I was going there. The guys inside were nice. It was busy, and I like to be left alone while I shop anyway. Hovering salesmen ain't my cup-of-tea. Maybe they've done something differently, but I'm very sensitive to smells and I noticed nothing. We went here a couple of times to shop for wood floors. The first time they sent someone to measure, we got the quote but decided not to pull the trigger as the economy was tanking. Fast forward a couple of years and we needed to have a new measurement and the price was more than double... or at least I think it was, we never did get the correct quote. I think this might be OK for DIY or if you're doing a flip, but if you're doing a big remodeling job this experience will be frustrating. BUYER BEWARE! This is a novel about the ordeal went though with this company! They are a nightmare. The sales staff was nice to start out when they know looking to make a sale but once they have your money they don't care. Their installer was AWFUL and completely unethical. They did a job at our home that was vacant at the time. We ordered the recommended amount of boxes of flooring as well as floor float to do the job per their estimates. We even let them know would prefer to order a little more than needed to have extra left over as a back up. In the middle of the installation the installer called saying they needed to use more floor float so "was going to be a little more expensive." Ok fine, we wanted the job done right and understood hard to tell something like that until the floor ripped up. We were then told the job was finished and needed to sign off on it. Since the house vacant we told them would probably be next day before we could get by the house to check the job done and would then sign the paperwork. (Apparently their installer does not get paid until after you sign off so they really pressured us "to just sign off on it.") We told them needed to see the finished job before signing anything and would make it a priority. The next day went to check on the finished job and first thing we noticed is they had left the back door to the house unlocked and propped WIDE OPEN. Yes, the home was vacant but anyone could have walked in and done damage to property (not to mentioned the AC was on so didn't do our utility bill any favors!) We then noticed there was no boxes of extra flooring left in house. When they delivered the flooring they specifically counted how many boxes they left and were ordered/paid for and we knew had ordered extra due to this as we were present when it was delivered. We called and mentioned that door had been left wide open so were a little upset about that and also asked about the extra boxes of flooring and if knew where they were? We also mentioned how floor glue was left in big spots on certain areas. They told us we "could come get some floor glue cleaner free of charge from them at store." Considering were were paying THOUSANDS of dollars to them for a job to be done you would think they would have offered to send someone back out to clean it up but no they expected us to drive 30 minutes out of our way to pick up "free cleaner" to just "do it ourselves." They said they "would get in touch with installer to see about the extra boxes of flooring" I then get a very hostile and defensive call back hours later from the installer at almost 9:00 pm at night with him literally SCREAMING at me saying "how dare I accuse him of stealing flooring!" (what kind of grown man screams at a woman?) He would barely let me talk and told me there was also no way him or his crew left a door wide open. I told him no one else had been in the home since they completed the job so someone obviously left door propped open. I told him we had written record of exactly how many boxes were delivered. He continued to yell at me then said, "well did YOU personally count the boxes?" I told him again that Lumber Liquidators staff personally unloaded them and counted as they unloaded them. He then said "that is NOT what I asked you. Did YOU personally count them." I told him I am pretty sure I can count along with the person who delivered them and know what number was on the paperwork I had. He said "well YOU didn't personally count them then did you?" I asked him if he was then implying that another employee there that unloaded them then took them? He then proceeded to tell me that "I could come meet him and count the empty boxes in the back of his truck." (Because yeah that is what I want to do is meet a strange man at night who has been screaming at me on phone) This installer was a total psycho and honestly I wouldn't have felt safe meeting him. We actually decided to have locks changed after this whole ordeal as were so concerned about this particular person's behavior on phone that had access to our home. We called and let the company know how this man acted and they gave a very unconcerned "sorry to hear that" speech to us and told us "would talk to the installer" and then reminded us that "we could come get our free glue cleaner at any time." Needless to say we never contacted them again. Months later now we had to have some additional repair work to home that required pulling up some of the floor they had installed only for the new installer (someone from a MUCH more reputable company) to tell us that whoever installed it last put PLYWOOD down in spots (NOT floor float like what we were charged extra for) so now having to have someone fix it the right way like Lumber Liquidators should have the first time! I see where Lumber Liquidators got a fine of 2.5 million for selling contaminated wood. I am not surprised. I bought wood from them as well. It came in with torn open boxes, re wrapped with clear plastic wrap. Did L.L check the wood before letting my guys pick it up? NO. Would L.L. refund my money? NO.... and they old me that they NEVER accept returns that have been opened. What I got was boxes of culls... split, cracked, glue smeared, warped wood. They eventually offered me a few hundred dollars ONLY if I signed a release that I would not say anything negative about them. I refused. All the wood went into the trash. The guys that work here are great. Based on the amount of material we needed, they negotiated with us to get a great price. Delivery was handled well and they even were lenient on the return policy when our project ran over their 30 days. I treated them with respect & fairness and received the same in return. Ok well, I was leary to try this place because of the reviews but I did anyway. Honestly, I got the best price I have seen anywhere for what I was looking for, the staff was quick and efficient in helping me find what I needed and I was pleased with the product. Our experience with Lumber Liquidators has not been a positive one. It has actually been very stressful. We purchased engineered bamboo flooring on March 3, 2017 from the Austin, TX store located on William Cannon Dr. As of today, July 30, 2017 we are still trying to have our flooring installed properly. We did our homework before purchasing from Lumber Liquidators. Or purchase was for an estimate of 650 Sq. feet and included the installation and furniture movement. We purchased items that we were told by the store rep. were the best of their options, for example; Item 140- Underlayment, 6mil Poly Sheeting 300sft., and item 180 - Underlayment, Dreamhome ECOSilent 100sft. We also purchased item 150-High Performance concrete Patch 25lbs that was not used and later refunded to us. The installer's judgment was that it was not needed. At first our questions were about the feel and sound the flooring would make. It sounded like there were several places that had pockets of air in the floor. When you walked on the boards some would sink and snap when they went down. We have walked on many hardwood floors and have not seen or heard this problem. We called the store where we purchase the flooring and they said someone would come out to check out our issues. The person that came out was the same person that installed the floor. He said and demonstrated that the floor was good by using a level and showing the bubble was centered. He also said that the bamboo wood flooring would take about 6 months before it would settle. We called the store back weeks later and explained again that something wasn't right about our floor. An expert from Temple, TX finally came out to our home and expected the flooring. He checked out the floor by using electronic gages and said he would be filing a report and we should be hearing from someone within 2 weeks. Almost 3 weeks later we did receive a phone call. After another estimated 2 weeks the flooring was removed. It was taken up and stacked in different places in areas not being used like the kitchen. That itself was an inconvenience. This time the Performance concrete Patch was used and it made a world of difference to the sound and feel for walking on the floor. Now the floor sounds better but looks terrible. The first time the floor looked really good. The Bamboo Wood boards all blended very nicely. This time the boards look like someone just hurriedly through them down. There are big variations from light to dark. It is hard to believe that an expert installed it. read more

This store was great. I live down in south Austin, but traveled to this store after an uncomfortable issue at the south store. Ok, I liked discontinued flooring, and the south store was not helpful. I called Colorado store myself and got it shipped to me. This Lumber Liquidators store was very helpful in locating and ordering trim pieces from other stores. They were also super great at accepting returns of the unused underlayment. This is my flooring store now. read more

Terrible customer service!!! Installer stood us up 3 times for a measuring appointment and it was like pulling teeth to get our actual install scheduled. Staff was very rude and not helpful. read more
