LN1380 (LN- for little neck, and 1380- a lucky number) has a silly name but delivers fresh and delicious dishes. They have a non-traditional way of serving their dishes, you write down your selection on a card (think Nom wah tea parlor) rather than little cart ladies pushing you goodies to your table. The Chou Zhou dumplings, shumai, hargao, rice roll, were standouts. The waiters and waitresses were attentive and we had two change of plates throughout the meal. The food here is a bit pricey but it is understandable when you look at the nice interior/decor. They have a pretty extensive menu from various seafood items to "typical" Chinese food. We got two lobsters and the pan-fried noodles with seafood. The lobsters were typically sized, and seasoned in the southern Chinese way (if that means anything to you...) Nothing amazing but it filled my craving at the time. The pan-fried noodles were also good because they were crunchy, but nothing to rave over. Overall this is a solid place but I would probably only come back if I were going with someone who enjoys nicer decor because to me I wouldn't pay the extra money for it. read more

I really liked LN1380. I've ordered takeout from here a couple of times and gone to dine in for dimsum. As far as food quality, I think it's really good cantonese style food. They're not out to wow you with bleeding edge cuisine, but they do Cantonese staples really well. I had no problems with dimsum and thought it was fine. Again, nothing to write home about in terms of innovation but the food was tasty and hot. Their service is where they really shine. I went with my in-laws and they have very particular needs and high standards of cleanliness and the staff at LN1380 did not disappoint us at all. The tables were clean and the environment was comfortable and spacious. I much prefer this restaurant over some of the others in the depths of Flushing. Oh and there is a Pokestop nearby! read more

Place is crowded and all over the place than I would have preferred, but the food was of good quality. Heard of this place through Instagram and yelp since they were known for their really cute dimsum. I've been here at least twice and both times the service wasn't the greatest. There's only about 3-4 people working (not including the ones pushing carts) causing the service to not be as attentive. The dimsum was mediocre, but then again I don't really have high expectations that their dimsum would taste amazing. Came here with a couple friends for dinner. The service was great; the waiters and waitresses were very attentive as well as helpful when it came to recommendations on dishes. We were a party of 4, so it was hard to narrow down on dishes because they all sounded so good. The special of the day was a pigeon dish, which was made well. It was juicy (not often the case with pigeon) and flavorful. We tried the curry crab, which had the right amount of curry and a slight kick. The string bean dish was a huge hit with my friends. We also tried the braised tofu and egg white, which was very silky and smooth. Will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes as well as dim sum. read more

Overall the food was good and met my standards while saving me a trip to Flushing for family dinners. My family decided to come here after hearing all about the new restaurant that opened on northern blvd but most importantly for cantonese people, it's cheap! I was really surprised when I saw the bill given that we ordered so much and a typical dinner like that in flushing would cost twice the amount with food that isn't even as good. An amazing Cantonese and Dimsum restaurant right around the corner. We don't have to trek all the way to Flushing and be squished and crowded for the same food. If you want authentic dimsum, don't come here. If you just want the dimsum food and would like to be able to park your car and not have to shout to hear everyone at your table, this place is okay. But for me, this didn't work. The food was good, I will have to say. Nothing was undercooked, under-seasoned, though I will say their 炸两 was cut into alarmingly big pieces and the 油条 was not so good. But what was missing for me was the experience of dimsum. They took away the carts and instead just brought the food out to you. I missed the experience of having the ladies lifting the cover and examining the food before you decided if you wanted it or not. I brought a friend here who wasn't too familiar with dimsum and it would have been helpful to see the dishes before getting them. There was no steam coming from any of the dishes either. The variety was disappointing as well. In addition, the table next to me asked a waiter if there was a certain ingredient in the dish. His only response was to say I don't know, just don't eat it if you're allergic. That really rubbed me the wrong way and kind of ruined my experience. Not to mention the same waiter put the check on my dish when he brought it to my table! My dish was clean but still, I wouldn't put my check on there. Went to LN 1380 yesterday for dim sum and was surprised by decor; very elegant for a Chinese restaurant. I was, however, so disappointed with the dim sum: no carts, small portions, and expensive. Also, for such a nice looking place, the silverware, teacups and plates were disgustingly filthy. Our waiter, with his long dirty fingernails tried to rub off the gunk from one of the plates but it was stuck. We should have left then. But to be fair, the taste of the food was good to average. I really wanted to like this place... I did. Sadly, it was a disappointment. When I first arrived im like wow! This place is big and spacious. There was no wait. Sat in the first table. Then when the waiter gave us the paper menu, me and my friend, the two of us have been starving and ready to chow down some food! Excited to try out this dim sum in Great Neck we ordered a bunch of everything.. checked off 12 things. The lady comes to pick up the paper and goes "miss. You ordered 12 things. Thats too much for the two of you." She doesn't know how much we eat and how hungry we were. I understand if a waiter tells you you have to order more because you ordered too little to meet like a certain minimum but Ive NEVER in my LIFE had someone tell me I ordered too much... there's something called take home if we dont finish... so she started telling me to erase some items so I erased two so we were left with 10 items. Again.. its dimsum so everything is small portions anyway. What was the point in telling me I ordered too much? Im paying for it anyway. If youre the owner and you see this, I dont know wouldnt you want the customers to order more? Its more money for you guys anyway so whats the big deal. Anywho.. food comes one by one and I noticed the dimsum was all very bland.. not enough seasoning/ spices so I asked for soy sauce to dip it with. Why is that so surprising.. the lady looks at me with the most disgusted look like "why do you need soy sauce? Again... why is it so hard to understand my own preferences.. Its not like I asked you to bring it back to remake it. I just wanted some soy sauce to dip it in. I got the illest look for it. Then as I continue eating, with multiple bones on my plate, they dont ask to change plates.. maybe because of covid IDK what.. but im used to Flushing dimsum places where the waiters immediately change your plates if they see that theres no room on the plate left. I wasn't a fan of LN1380. Their food was decent but there was a good amount of MSG in it, which I'm very sensitive to. I hate feeling ill after a meal. To be fair, most dim sum and Chinese restaurants will use it so it is very difficult to avoid. The second strike against LN1380 was their service. We ordered a few things off the menu in addition to the dim sum and they forgot a dish. We mentioned that it was missing and our waiter said the kitchen forgot to make it and that it would be out soon. We waited another 20 minutes but it never came out so we cancelled the order. I'd like to say I'd give this restaurant another chance but there are so many other good ones in the area, I probably won't unless I get dragged there by friends or family. read more

This review is solely for dimsum and not for any of the regular lunch or dinner entrees. Like many others, I was suckered into the restaurant because of the IG worthy dim sum characters. I ordered both the character dim sum items which included the pig face silk bun, the bird shaped pork dumpling, and sausage dog (?) and the more traditional dim sum items which included chicken feet, rice roll, siomai and shrimp dumplings. Besides being aesthetically pleasing, i think the taste for everything we received was great! This restaurant is comparable in price, taste and variety as many of the restaurants in jam-packed flushing. We went on a Sunday afternoon and was able to find street parking pretty quickly, and service was really quick. It's also nice on the inside and is very clean. Yes- there is a push from the (sometimes not-so-nice) dim sum ladies, but they cant' shove food in your mouth, or make your order something you ultimately don't want. Overall, I would definitely include this in my dim-sum rotation, and i'm so glad i don't have to go all the way to Queens! read more

Seafood Panfried Noodles is amazing... This dish is often attempted but failed in many restaurants. The closest restaurant that makes it the same way is Chou Zhou on Main Street aka "Big Bowl" This type of restaurant is only found in Flushing and to see it closer to Long Island is a good sign. I haven't tried the dim sum yet... 08/22/2016 - Tried the Dim Sum menu, it's not cart based which has its own pros and cons. Never been here for dim sum but came here with a group of 7 last night for dinner. The food comes out fairly quickly like in Flushing/C-town and waiters here are a bit more affable. The standout dishes were the special black chicken soup (5/5). I am not a soup person but it was so good that I had 3 bowls. The other standout dish was the razor clams (5/5) which is seasonal. One of the best I've had - among all styles of cooking. It was so good that after we finished all dishes we ordered another one! The fried tofu dish and pea shoots were fresh and very good (4/5). The disappoint was the steamed fish (3/5) - more due to size than flavor. Had we known it was so small we might have skipped it. They also didnt have their well known garlic chicken so we got the other crispy chicken (3/5) which was just OK. They said they ran out of the garlic chicken, but at 6pm on a Sunday when we ate they really shouldn't have run out of anything. As usual at the end the meal they give you oranges (sweet) and red bean soup (3/5). The place was so packed so best to have a reservation. This restaurant can hold its own with the best ones in Flushing/C-town but a bit costlier and more convenient if you live closer to Little Neck. They have parking in the back. It is also an easy 10min walk through a neighborhood from the LIRR station which we did coming from the city. We will be back. read more

Good for dim sum and great for dinner. For dim sum, it's really crowded and maybe just more modern than other places. I'm ok going other places without a wait. They have all those bao animals with the filling coming out of the mouth, for a cute picture. For dinner though, everything was fresh and tasty. We had the back private room and service was exceptional. HUGE portions. Some standouts are the cold dish consisting of roast pork, duck tongue, jelly fish and fried pork ribs. SO GOOD. The beef ribs is a must have and also the house special rice. I couldn't quite figure what was in it. There are crunchy pieces that really made it super tasty. Fried shallots?? The black chicken soup was awesome too. I wasn't too crazy about the abalone and sea cucumber dish. The abalone seem like it came from a can. I read a lot about the poor service and have to say I didn't experience that. It definitely is more expensive than regular Chinese restaurant, but again, portions are larger than usual. I'm definitely going back to try the dim sum. read more

Without a reservation this place took over 30 minutes to bring us our food. Not only that if you have a small group they give you a small random table in the middle of the hallway which makes all of customers have problems leaving from the table requiring you to move. Do not come to this place at all cost unless you like bad customer service and slow service. After waiting over 30 minutes for my food the food while good is overly sweet on things that shouldn't be. Personally this made me sick but it depends if you like this sort of taste. Another problem is the over crowding. It is so crowded that waitresses are unable to easily move through the tables and some tables are forced to uncomfortably squished. My family friend took us to this dim sum place as a "welcome to New York" present. The interior is really clean and tidy unlike a lot of other dim sum places that are a little more shabby. However, their food wasn't extraordinary. They did have cute selections of buns shaped into animals and such, but the taste was average. The thing I would recommend would be the cute matcha buns and custard buns. Also, I really love the shrimp xia jiao (hargao) but they didn't have any until 1:00! They didn't have almost any steamed dumplings until almost 1. The waiters also didn't communicate with each other and they wouldn't know who had which food. So if you want to compensate some taste for better lighting and cleanliness, come to this place. But if you want good quality tasting dim sum, go somewhere else. read more

Here is the abridged version. Staffs there are awful. They give us a small table in the back of the restaurant. We had to get up and walked 15 - 20 feet to order dim sum. Not to mention the choices for dim sum were very limited. We sat at our table for a hour and hardly any staff would come by. We waived to the staffs many times to get their attention and it was useless. We complained to the female manager about their poor service and we heard her gossiping to another waitress about us. When we got our check, the same manager either tried to rip us off or she did not know her basic math and over charged us. We ordered 4 dim sum and got charged for 5 (see attached picture). Lastly, we asked to speak to the owner and we were told the owner is MIA. I feel giving this restaurant an one star is too generous for the horrible service we experienced. read more

This place must be a joke. They have two tables at the waiting area. Which mean the table is always crowded with people who are waiting. When we sat down they forgot to give us the paper that people stamp the dishes on. We had to return two of the plates because there are left over food on it. Sitting next to the door, farthest from the kitchen means the food will never reach us. The carts do not even bother passing by the area since they cannot turn to the other side. The carts are so small that they barely carry anything. The food is mediocre, I had better food in Flushing. Their shrimp dumplings were failing apart. Their food is lacking flavor and sauce. It was a relatively busy Sunday but they literally had no food being pushed around. Asked the waiter if there's food coming out and he couldn't be bothered. After waiting a solid 15 minutes a few items came out slowly. All the food was bland and subpar. Sticky rice in the leaf had no meat or filling and was just plain sticky rice.
