Loaf on Paper is now one of my absolute favorite stores/cafes in New York City. I've visited Niconeco several times in Manhattan, so my expectations coming into Loaf on Paper were pretty high. The interior was SO lovely, cute, cozy, and clean. Light music was playing in the background, and there were so many fun things to browse both in the cafe and store sections. My friend and I came here around 11am on a Monday, and it was packed. However, when we returned around noon, we did find seating in the corner when we came back. I ordered the pistachio cream latte and black sesame pound cake, while my friend ordered the chia pudding. The latte was 10/10. SO creamy, and I could taste the pistachio and matcha! The pound cake was also delicious (not too sweet), and I liked that I could also taste the black sesame flavor. We ended up staying around an hour browsing the store. There were so many things to marvel at and admire. Would 100% come here again (maybe a little earlier next time). read more

I love the concept of a coffee shop in the front and a stationary store in the back. The back had very cute, curated sticker sheets, washi tape, handmade leather bound notebooks, and more. I got a Hojichai latte from the front, but it was underwhelming and $7. Maybe I'll try the matcha if I go back. read more

Loaf on Paper is the newest expansion store for Manhattan's Niconeco Zakkaya. Not only is it a bigger location, it also houses their OWN cafe in the front ! I had visited twice during my recent annual NY trip and both times the store (cafe and stationery side) were quite busy ! Unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out the cafe but maybe next time ! But lots of customers seem to be working/studying, taking a lot of their seating space. Stationery side offers similar inventory (if not more) than the Manhattan location but in a much more OPEN and BRIGHT area with air flow AND THEIR VERY OWN RESTROOM TOO ! (quite an important thing apparently in this city, had quite a few restroom hunting adventures, even from their other location) LOVE their massive sticker wall upon entry, leading to a bookshelf of washi tapes on the right, with cards/envelopes on the left. Tables in the middle of the store holding various planners and accessories. Shelf on the left of the store houses their writing utensil inventory ranging from pens and pencils to markers and limited inks and stamps. Futher back in the store holds their inventory of traveler's notebook items as well as totes, etc. This store will be, if not already, my 1 of 2 recommedations to people who are looking for stationery (especially if they love cat designed items). read more

arguably one of the best strawberry matchas i've ever had. they are not too sweet and you can actually taste the matcha but they're still super delicious. they have a lot of fun drink options, including seasonal specials and a good amount of seating. there's a cute stationary/trinket store in the back that you can walk around read more

I've had this place on my radar since hearing about their opening, and it didn't disappoint. I came in during the middle of the week and though it was busy, it wasn't overly crowded and I was able to get a seat in the cafe. The cafe is bright and airy with big windows that let in a lot of light and has a decent amount of seating. The barista was super kind and lovely and the menu had lots of coffee and tea drinks to choose from. The back space of the store houses the home goods and stationery, and it's absolutely a place I would come back to. read more

Cute stationary store and cafe! It's quite popular on the weekends since it just opened, so there weren't any seats available when we came on a Saturday afternoon. I tried the yuzu matcha lemonade - very refreshing and a tad sweet, and the lemon hojicha madeline - more heavy on the lemon flavor than hojicha. They have a lot of drink options and good cake/pastry selection, so I can't wait to come back and try others The stationary store in the back has stickers, pens, ceramics, notebooks, washi tape, stamps, and ALL the cuteness! The cutest coffee shop and stationary store combined! I have always loved Niconeco Zakkaya, which is a stationary store located in East Village. Was not expecting to be as blown away by their cafe edition at all! Absolutely cute decor and vibe with whimsical little details scattered throughout such as little cats on the plates and in their decor. Fall esque decor with pumpkins scattered throughout as well. It was quite packed with a line wrapping around the store on Sunday at 11AM, however the line moved fast and we were able to get a table with relatively fast turnaround. Now into the bevs and food! Pistachio Cream Matcha - very creamy, nutty, not too sweet. Matcha and pistachio flavors melded together perfectly, neither too strong or overpowering. Pistachio cold foam on cold brew - not too sweet, coffee flavor paired so well with the cold foam. Slight chunky bits of pistachio and salt paired exceptionally. Miso carrot cake - holy crap!! this had the most insane umami, ?brown butter type notes. The most decadent, moist carrot cake alive paired with savoury miso cream notes. I absolutely dream of this cake!! Black sesame banana pudding - I wasn't expecting to be blown away by this option but wow! Crunchy little pieces strewn throughout the pudding, layers of black sesame, banana, ?wafer pieces. Not too sweet but everything paired so well together. Absolutely coming back to try more of their baked goods, specifically the strawberry cream cake! read more

It's a cute store with stationery, stickers, pens. They have a variety of other things for sale in the front of the store, a nice, well-curated mix. The cafe: I found their staff somwhat lacking with a mix of airiness and rudeness. A female barista smiled to herself as she kept her back turned on people trying to order... (honestly, it was kind of gross...) They outright ignore customers, letting the needy, entitled white women of the neighborhood cut the line, the ordering situation is a bit chaotic, they seem poorly trained overall, there isn't really a great selection of pastries, and the coffee is nothing special. The Wi Fi works, but the front door situation needs attention as I was FREEEZZZZINGGGG my ass off sitting in there. And it was empty in the middle of the day, so customers may be taking note of all of the above. Thinking I was just in a bad mood, I left and went to Devocion, where the staff couldn't have been nicer (or sharper), it was a warmer, beautiful environment, and I felt much more comfortable. this shop was an adorable stationary spot. they have a cafe too and i only tried the matcha pistachio cream and was not too impressed by it. i wish the matcha flavor was stronger but the cream top was good! i enjoyed the corn flake topping. staff was nice and had tables for you to enjoy your drink. read more

waited in line for about thirty minutes for a very mid-experience. we were super excited because the place was so cute but the yuzu matcha was grainy and the ice was completely melted upon getting it. the black sesame latte was very mid. stationary selection is great and cute. read more

great new spot! they have a great selection of stationary just like the original location but also a cafe and cute comfy seating area. I got a black sesame caramel latte which was good but didn't taste like too much so I'd try something else next time. they had a menu of specials and it was hard to choose just one, the staff was helpful with questions. I also got the savory biscuit which was delicious and I wish I brought another home. they also had a few dessert options which looked amazing including little cake slices. After being served Coffee , I was told I had to leave because I had my dog. When I stated that my dog is a service animal, the staff member responded with a smirk that made it clear she didn't believe me. It was humiliating and unnecessary. Add to that the poor coffee, and this place is an easy pass. read more

You can probably find them cheaper at the vendors of the street but you won't be able to find it all as well-curated as it is in this shop! Fair warning though if you get the lanterns, they don't come with instructions so you better take a photo of the fully assembled lantern before you leave the store.

I was greeted by a male associate, but did not appear sincere nor with enthusiasm. There is very minimal pastries. No chocolate chip cookie. I decided on one chocolate croissant $6.25. It is here where I egregiously received a red card: "We're sorry, but cash is not accepted here." I voluntarily ejected to make a Irish Exit. Totally despondent. Manjul Coffee does NOT comply with "Prohibition of Cashless Establishments, as of March 21, 2026, all retail and food establishments in New York State, including New York City, must accept in-person cash payments, banning fully cashless stores." (source: Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), Local Law 34 of 2020). Oh! This law is enacted, but not enforced as Manjul Coffee requires a severe telling-off or dressing down. Manjul appears indifferent to invest in a cash register. For small amounts of purchases, my default payment method is cash. Yes, cash is still widely accepted in the 21st century.

The seats are comfortable and they have a good menu of coffee drinks as well as other drinks. I got their Chai latte with almond milk, and my friend got their cappuccino. While their coffee was good, I felt that their Chai latte was WAY too sweet. However, it's probably because their chai seemed to already be sweetened and their almond milk was sweetened as well. If I were to come back, I would just get their coffee.

As of now, I'm in this area about one morning a week, and they will now certainly be receiving my business. Service is 5/5. Food menu was small but mighty. Ambiance: Really cool interior with a bunch of hip Asian paraphernalia to purchase and an amazing open window sill to sip your coffee. I think they sometimes have a DJ to add some hype. I might've come too early or on the wrong day for that. I love that it's tucked in this corner bend of Chinatown in front of old barbershops which gives it a cozier feel in general.

I didn't end up grabbing anything, but I'm still thinking about some of the mugs I saw inside. They have a flower bar at the back which was interesting to me, but I didn't partake this time around. I picked up their hot "Pumpkin, pumpkin latte" and was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't recommend it to the espresso purist, but I thought it tasted lovely and was perfect for a stroll through Greenpoint on the first snow day in NYC this winter. They also offered some pastries but I'm a butter purist and they were vegan, so I did not partake. This isn't a sit down shop by any means, it's definitely a place to stop in then keep it moving. I see they have a back patio but this wouldn't be the best time of year to explore it.
