This review is for Patricia Arigullin at Logan Lock. For some background we are out-of-state customers, in TX, and I'll say both my wife and Realtor were incredibly anxious about using an out-of-state, somewhat non-traditional lender. In my work we have a lot of flash-in-the-pan low price companies and I'll admit, Loan Lock sounded at first like one of those companies. At the very minimum folks, create a more legit sounding LLC because "Ony Glo" is not doing you any favors. Anyways Loan Lock was a good .375% below all the traditional mortgage lenders, big banks, etc and as a millennial, a new approach to a business model was appealing. The other great thing is that they essentially offset all of the closing costs of the loan, so the only cost of the loan was the interest I pay over time. Not saying they'd do that for everyone, but I liked the clarity associated with not having complicated up-front costs that make it difficult to compare various offers. Closing went extremely smooth; we were funded well ahead of schedule. I can't say enough good things about Pati. First off, the time zone difference was not an issue at all; in fact it worked out since I would usually call after work and it was still working hours over there. Plus it wouldn't matter anyways since Pati seemed to work all the damn time - she was, no exaggeration, always available. She answered all of our many questions, worked diligently to stay on schedule and in almost all cases we were done well ahead of schedule as she would anticipate what we would need from the next stage and have us get it beforehand. I think we ended up closing, start to finish, except for funding of course, in maybe 2 - 3 weeks? She also started looping in my realtor, who was getting antsy about closing on time, on all conversations to assuage her concerns. Really fantastic experience and I would definitely use Loan Lock, and Pati, again. Thanks again Pati for all your patience and hard work. We did have one hiccup which I should mention. Loan Lock used a Las Vegas based, low-price surveying company which was unable to accurately determine the value of our house. So our house did not appraise, which I was told is somewhat common with Loan Lock but our realtor said she had almost never seen. Luckily, our loan-to-value was already pretty favorable and so Pati and the Loan Lock team made it a non-issue, but in a different scenario where the loan is a big chunk of the house value, it could've been an issue. read more

I understand that things are slow because of Covid but it is now going on 4 months since I started the application. She lives up to the hype of the reviews, which was why I initially contacted her.  My initial promised closing costs went up by around $500, mostly because the appraisal companies all raised their rates due to covid and the high demand (paid an additional $450).  As for Loan Lock, I have no regrets as it was the best rate after having shopped around at a few places, and I had been ready to incur closing costs for the lower rate.  However, I will say going through a mortgage broker company may not be for everyone, as there were more hoops to jump through, and definitely do not plan any travel until it closes as there may be last-minute changes.  Still, I'd recommend if you have the time to get a great rate, and definitely ask for Jennifer! read more

DON'T WORK WITH THIS COMPANY My agent Parker Mortis made my refinance process probably as bad as it could get. I initially went to him in August to help with an investment property refinance as I was going to move out of my property. I sent him all the documents he asked for but it was a terrible experience. He wouldn't follow up with me until i called him first, it was seemingly the only times he would look at my file. This proved even more unfortunate because he was the worst at ever responding to call. I would need to follow up with multiple voicemails and emails over days to ever get him to pick up the phone. I ended up stopping the process because it turned out I didn't need to move out after all because my job made work more remote friendly. I should have paid attention to the red flags but I came back to parker in October to take advantage of the lower rates during covid. BIG MISTAKE. Parker used my OLD application originally written out for an INVESTMENT property for my new refinance that was for a PRIMARY residence. I asked him multiple times to fix the address on certain documents to which he stated "it will be fine". On one document I even crossed out an address he had on there from the previous refinance to reflect my current primary address for the property I was doing the refinance for, and he told me that I cant cross an address out and to RESUBMIT THE DOCUMENT WITH THE INCORRECT PRIMARY ADDRESS. He claimed he would "fix it on the back end". Long story short, this didn't fly with the underwriters who, after months of going through this grueling process with Parker, denied my application altogether. I had a chat with his manager, Junius, who while trying to put the onus on me (as he does with every bad comment on yelp... don't be surprised if you see a paragraph by him under this review as well trying to undermine everything I'm saying. Hi Junius!) agreed to cut a check for the $750 appraisal I paid for, which only proves he knew his team made a huge mistake. Of course this never materialized (no shocker there).
