This review is for Patricia Arigullin at Loanlock.com. We were moving to Texas from out-of-state, our Realtor referred a local lender and I got the pre-approval from them. Once we decided on the house, I did some shopping around on the internet to see if I could get a better deal and found Loanlock. I looked up reviews for Loanlock's loan officers on Zillow and went with one (not Pati) who had a lot of positive reviews. It started out ok, he responded to my emails but he wasn't giving all the details I wanted. Then I tried calling him but it was hard to get hold of him (he said his phone was having issues). Anyway after two days of this I almost gave up on Loanlock. I then saw a review for Loanlock on Yelp whose situation was same as ours (out-of-state, moving to TX etc) who mentioned Pati by name and had a lot of good things to say about her. So, I called her, she answered and I explained our situation to her. She said she would get our file from the other guy and send me a proper rate quote. Within the hour, I got all the information I asked for. The rate quote was what I had hoped for, and the lender credit was more than I expected - it completely off-set our closing costs. After sending me the quote, Pati called me and explained every detail in it and asnwered all my questions (and I had a LOT of those). This was the first time we were doing an Inernet based mortage and our Realtor had a lot of concerns about how it would play out. We were closing in under 4 weeks and I wanted to make sure that the loan would be processed in time. Pati assured everything would be ready as long as I submitted all the necessary documentation on time. The online application was simple & straight forward. All supporting documents could be uploaded to the portal, and DocuSign was used for getting documents signed where necessary. All-in-all it was an easy process, very user friendly. We had a float-down option on the loan and if the interest rates fell before closing I could ask for a revision. So, about one week before closing, I noticed that the rates had dipped. I called Pati and she said she would try to get a better rate, but warned that changing the loan rate will also effect the lender credit. She got back after about 30 mins with two options. Option A was .125% lower with a slightly lower lender credit (still off-setting most of our closing costs) and Option B was .25% lower with very little lender credit. Both options were great and much better than what I was expecting. We went with option A. Pati worked with our Realtor and the Title Company and had everything in place. Then, 4 days before closing, something came up and we decided to close a day earlier, fortunately the seller and the title company were both accomodating and agreed to the last minute change. I was concerned if the lender would fund a day ahead, but Pati took care of it. I got our final closing disclosure the day before closing and Pati went over everything with me and explained every fee, every credit, and every line item - I knew exactly what we were getting. So, we closed on the day we wanted, everything went smoothly, there were no issues or surprises. I can't say enough good things about Pati, she is just superb! - She is very patient. I must've asked her a zillion questions over the three weeks (some repetitive) and never once did she make me feel my questions were not welcome. She always answered in her happy, up-beat tone and explained things till I understood them. - She was always available, and prompt to respond to my emails or phone calls. If she was busy with other work, she would get back as soon as she is free but she always got back before the day is over. The time zone difference (CT and PT) was actually an advantage as I could talk to her after my work and she would still be in office. - She is great at planning & organizing. It may be her job, but she is really good at what she does. She kept on top of our file, she made sure everything was moving on schedule, she provided us with regular updates about what is happening with our application, she would anticipate what documents might be asked in the next stage and inform us in advance to keep them ready etc etc. - She is honest, tells it as it is. It was easy to discuss rates, fees, credits and other details with her (the local lender I were dealing with made it seem like some secret mumbo-jumbo). - She is very helpful. She helped us get a lower rate about a week before closing, and when we decided (four days before the scheduled closing) to close a day earlier, she did what was needed to make it happen. Whenever I thanked her for her help, she would say 'I just want to get you the best deal I can'. At first I thought it was just a line, but now I believe she actually means it. Loanlock maybe a good company, but it is people like Pati who make it outstanding. Working with Pati was an excellent experience for us and I would definitely choose her again. read more

I was connected with Ron Burton through an online service and I'm very glad that I got Ron. Right off the bat Ron reached out to me via email and said that he will will be more than happy to work with me via email, but he also likes to work with people over the phone. In fact, I think he wrote that over the phone was his preference. I thought to myself, this is rare and certainly understandable seeing how complex home mortgage refinances can be. You see, email is good for some situations, but not every situation. But it can be convenient at tiems. For refinancing a home loan, using the phone and talking to someone directly helps a lot more in understanding the process, keeping things from being mis-understood and with Ron specifically, it gives you a "warm and fuzzy" with knowing what he is working hard on your loan and setting expectations for you as to when you can expect certain parts of it to be completed, where you are at in the loan process as well. He's very organized and tells you everything you need in the beginning. You dont get any of this "You need this and this" and then 6 weeks down the road "oh, you also will need this and that" .... I hate that. Ron tells you all of what you need in the beginning, no surprises. Now I've been refinancing and financing homes since I graduated college in 1991 and Ron has been, by far, the BEST loan officer I have ever worked with. Yes, you get some that are hard working, yes you get some that understand your situation, yes you get some that keep their word.....but what you never get is a hard working, understanding loan officer that also keeps their word. In my eyes, this is the very definition of Ron. Every time I spoke with or emailed Ron, he responded within hours. He knew the status of my loan everytime that I inquired of him and had answers for me immediately. Sometimes I would misinterpret something in an email and reply back to Ron a little irritated because I did not understand. Ron would know, based on my reply, that I had mis-interpreted something and instead of replying via email telling me that I was being stupid, which is what I would have done, he would instead, call me up with his calm voice and explain things to me to the point that it cleared up my ignorance of how refinancing is done these days and then I would realize.....oh, then there really is no problem. Absolutely wonderful! We would talk a little more and he would say something that he was going to do and without me harassing him at all, which I do to people who forget to do something that they promise, I would see that he did it and did so correctly. Never have I had a loan officer that would not only remember my loan, but also remember to follow through on promises or extra work that he verbally stated earlier to me. Any other loan officer would have said..."Oh, I dont remember every saying that" or "Im sorry, I forgot to do that, but its too late now". No, not with Ron. It gets done and it gets done right. I can honestly say that I was very happy working with Ron and very happy with all that he did for me. I never do reviews, but for what he did for me and how he did it with my refinancing, it would certainly be a dis-credit to him (and to you folks) if I did not leave a glowing review for Ron. Try and get Ron as your loan officer, I promise you will certainly be happy with the entire process as well as the end result. read more

We came to find LoanLock (William Knodt) by chance. We were in the process of refinancing with another lender when things started to get questionable again. We have been trying to get out from under the risky loans we were introduced to since buying our home almost 11 years ago. Each time we entered into the process, we were promised the moon only to be told of new requirements at each step of the way. It quickly became apparent that everyone (private lenders, banks, credit unions, etc...) we have dealt with to this point seemed like they were either trying to find ways to turn us down or get more out of us. The current lender we were working with either kept trying to increase the loan amount, closing costs or offer different types of loans that would end up costing us more so I started looking on line and came across LoanLock. LoanLock appeared to have some of the lowest advertised rates online so we called. After contacting them we met William. We were going into this extremely skeptical due to all the broken promises made in the past. William was patient, never took offence to our continual questioning and was straight to the point. He was always easily reachable by phone and in times of calling after hours he would promptly return calls the following day. Every promise he made he delivered on and then some. Without even asking, half way through the process he had called to let us know the market took a brief dip and he was able to lock us into a lower rate than previously mentioned which saved us a lot. This was unheard of to this point. Every step of the way went smooth and exactly has William explained to us even though we continually doubted what he was telling us, to the point of delaying our review of him/them until we were sure our previous first and second loans were paid in full because we just couldn't believe that it was actually true. Since only having dealt primarily with William of LoanLock I can't personally attest to the rest of the staff but I will say if they are even half as good as him you need look no further cause they are the best in the business. Jennifer Chang is the only Mortgage Advisor I will ever work with again! My coworker found out that I was thinking about refinancing a few months ago and immediately told me that I had to call Jennifer. I'm sorry I even thought about looking elsewhere to compare. When I asked for the current rates on a refi, I only had to provide minimal information (loan amount, approximate credit score, etc - the bare necessities) before Jennifer was able to come back with a quote. Unlike all the other companies I tried dealing with that demand social security numbers or phone numbers to keep calling, she never asked for personal information until it was time to start filling out the paperwork! She quoted me on a couple different terms and the quote that she gave me seemed too good to be true. At the time I was looking, the rate was lower and the closing costs were less than half of what some other lenders quoted me. Even though I thought it seemed too good to be true, when Jennifer quotes you a number, rest assured that she's giving you the real deal and isn't playing any games. The entire process was so transparent and Jennifer completely explained how everything worked. Jennifer was so easy to work with the whole refi was really too easy. At the start, there was never any sort of pressure or hassling. Jennifer simply provided everything I asked for without ever pushing me or bothering me. Once I decided to go through with the application and actually began the loan process, Jennifer never abandoned me. She was there every step of the way providing updates on the progress. From the very beginning, Jennifer would always respond to emails almost instantly - even on nights and weekends. I have never had customer service like that. I'm not one to write reviews but I really felt that George Hourani's hard work was deserving of a review. I was referred to George by a friend and George was very professional from the beginning. He was timely and pretty much on top of things. He and his team were constantly in touch with me and my wife regarding documents that needed to be submitted, signed, verified, etc. And when we reached some trouble waters, George was there, holding our hands, and not giving up even when it seemed like it was a losing battle. The drama started with the appraisal of our property. Our unit in the community was appraised for much less than the other properties, despite having the same identical square footage and layout. There was also an issue with the appraiser recording our square footage less than the other properties. George was on top it all, reaching out to the selling agents of the other properties to see if we can get a copy of their property's appraisals to submit for rebuttal. After 2 and a half weeks of going back and forth with my appraiser, we were able to get a more accurate appraisal value, which significantly helped our financial needs. The hurdles that we had to jump over and the battles that we fought to bring our transaction to a close actually transformed our professional relationship to a personal one. Jennifer Chang is an absolute gem!!! I contacted Jennifer on a business trip in So Cal and before I come back for another...my refi is completed. From reading through the reviews, I know she is an excellent agent, but I have no idea she is this good and so easy to work with.
