    Chips, guac and a hand

Stopped at the Mequon Public Market on a whim and stumbled upon Boca Rica. The owner, who doubled as the bartender today was welcoming and attentive. We ordered 2 cocktails and some chips and guac to start. They were served up quick and were delicious. The highlight of the margarita was the black salted rim. Incredibly tasty. We followed up drinks and the apps with the steak and carnita tacos. The highlight was the blue corn tortillas that paired perfectly with the flavors of steak and pork. All the flavors were well balanced with the smokiness of the toasted tortillas. The owner talked about some new menu updates in a few weeks. We'll be back to give those a try for sure.

I haven't eaten here so I can't speak to the food but the cocktails are great and the service is always friendly! The car itself is very cool with tiki bar vibes and in a great spot inside the Public Market. I love the

I came here on a recommendation to try the tacos. I went up to place my order and sit down to have a drink while I waited for my food but I was told I had to go down to the end of the bar to pay right away if I was ordering Togo. I didn't mind but it was kinda off putting when I had full intentions to have a beverage while I waited for my to go order. Instead I paid for my food right away and just walked around. I'm sure food is good and can't wait to try it but service could be improved. Is this going to stop me from coming again ... no it's not. But now I know if I want to have a margarita to be willing to eat my food there and not take it to go.

Stopped in to kill time during soccer practice. Good food and friendly staff. Would give is all stars but tacos should really come with a side and more chips for the price they charge.

Customer Service needs to be worked on during " the lunch rush" Only spoke to the one sever during the order process at the beginning and at the end when it came time to pay for my bill. This particular server didn't seem very friendly at all. Ordered 3 different soft tacos and it tasted awesome all around. For a taco Tuesday, it was rather slow.

We happen to be in Mequon on Taco Tuesday and Yelped what might be good nearby for Mexican. Boca Rica in the Mequon Market at 6300 Mequon Road was nearby and had been given excellent reviews. It shares the building with several dining venues. If not in the mood for tacos there are also falafel, Italian, sushi, ice cream and microbrew options in the space. It reminded me a bit of Public Market in MKE and North Market in Columbus Ohio but on a smaller scale. They only had a bar counter as a serving area and the barstools were a bit high for one of us, so the waiter placed our order as a takeout and we sat at a communal table in the common area. The seating was a downside to Boca Rica, it had only been in business 8 weeks and I predict it will be quite popular and could use more space! All the menu was alacarte and we ordered three tacos, (shrimp, pork pastor and carnitas), with sides of beans, chips and guacamole and topped it off with a couple house margaritas. The tacos were all flavorful with ample ingredients, came with lime wedges and served in soft blue corn tortillas. The guacamole was garnished with diced jalapeño and radish slices and the chips were warm, crisp and perfectly salted. The margaritas were standard fare for a house blend. Prices ranged from $4.25-6.50 for the tacos, $3.00 for a side of beans, $9 for guacamole and chips and $9 for drinks. Though the food was good, the lack of a tortilla option (flour vs corn), the high seating and the slightly high price ($51.15 for lunch). All said, it's worth a try if in the area.

I love coming to the Mequon Public Market, the atmosphere is 'cool' and trendy. Boca Rica really adds to the experience. They don't have tables for dining but instead you sit at the bar for drinks and food. I got a beer from Puerto Rico and my husband got a Mezcal Negroni. Both were good- Negroni not for the weak. Food was good, especially the hike made tortillas. I liked the Yucatan fries and two different salsas our chips came with. Would go again!

Tasty tacos. Though tortillas fall apart, not very pickup-able. They were good but a bit messy because they fell apart.

We pulled up and we're shocked that it was a Mexican restaurant. But we like Mexican so we were good! To begin there was only one waitress, so the service was not very quick at the start..... I didn't have high hopes. However, the menu had a lot of choices and the margaritas were very good! I ordered the pork belly tacos, and my daughter ordered the shrimp tacos. We were amazed! Not only were the chips tasty with a nice seasoning the food was amazing. The food came out quick and accurate. My daughter and I left and went to our event and raved about it to the rest of our family, who we told to go and eat there! We will definitely be back. So good!!!!!!

The jalapeño ranch is definitely the one to get. Very unique option. We also tried the chips con queso, which had great flavor and the perfect consistency. I got the crispy tacos with added jalapeños and double beans. The taco shells were thin and crispy without falling apart, and the portion size is large. They told us it would be a 45 minute wait for two, when we asked if we could sit at the bar they shared there were high top tables available to seat yourself. We were in room off the bar and got to order and eat right away.

I found myself looking for a Friday fish fry close to Germantown so that I could be back by 6:30pm…read more After looking through my bookmarks of places I hadn't been to yet, Crave Bar & Food's pictures intrigued me the most. In addition to the beer battered walleye with potato pancakes I got beer batter cheese curds and a dozen wings. Happy hour is 2pm to 5pm Monday through Friday and, along with having drink specials, select appetizers are $7 each. The cheese curds, which are huge and come as an order of nine, are one of those select apps. The batter didn't have much beer taste and the shredded Parmesan on top seemed unnecessary, but for $7 they were a steal and even at the regular price of $10.50 they're an excellent value. The old pictures I saw of their wings made them look like they were coated in a rub even though the menu didn't state it. Just to be safe, so I could taste the rub if there was one, I got half the wings without sauce and half with honey BBQ. There didn't end up being a rub on the wings, but the sauceless ones were still great. The honey BBQ was bold tasting, yet didn't overpower the flavor of the chicken. Although I enjoyed the wings, $18 for a dozen is on the very high end of what I would pay, especially since they were average sized and not jumbo. The amount of food on the walleye plate blew me away. Even if they gave me just one of the two large walleye fillets, I feel like that would have been about fair for the price. The two huge fillets made it feel like I hit the fish fry jackpot. Similar to the cheese curds, I didn't taste any beer in the batter, but the fillets were good regardless. I prefer potato pancakes that are thin and crispy, but their thicker potato pancakes were great even with largely being soft due to their thickness. I liked the herbs in the potato pancakes and was a big fan of the cinnamon applesauce compared to plain applesauce most other restaurants provide. Throughout dinner I heard some of the hostesses and waitresses stressing about reservations and having enough tables. Apparently I got lucky that a table was available right away when I got there at 4:30pm. I guess call to make a reservation if you plan on coming on a Friday night.

With a lot of variety and friendly service, this definitely is a great go-to place. My Mom and I came here for a light dinner and ordered the crab cake and mussels appetizers as our entrees. Thinking that wouldn't be enough food, we added the arugula beet salad. Everything came out pretty quickly, and the mussels portion and salad were enormous. Each dish was excellent. The mussels, a recommendation by our helpful server, were especially good - the mussels were cooked perfectly, without an unopened mussel in the bunch, and the white wine-garlic-fennel broth was seasoned well and had the classic flavor I was hoping for. The only miss was that the bread provided was only barely toasted and a little chewy. The salad was a wonderful surprise: dressed properly with a nice vinaigrette, it had toasted pepitas, creamy goat cheese, fennel, and beets that were not overly earthy. My Mom enjoyed her crab cakes, which had a bit of a spicy kick. I wanted a little dessert and chose their Door County cherry ice cream. I would strongly recommend leaving room for it. It had a fantastic, creamy texture, tasting homemade. The ice cream itself had a natural flavor of almonds with a hint of cherry, was studded with dark chocolate and cherry pieces, and topped with a cute fish-shaped cookie. One of the best ice creams I've had. Like the food portions, it came as three big scoops, so it's good for sharing. The atmosphere is casual and fun, though be prepared for a pretty high noise level when it's full - not from music, but from everyone having a great time with friends and family. I'd recommend getting a reservation, and they're conveniently on OpenTable.
